After a very underwhelming entrance to the NashHouse Southern Spoon thanks to their hostess Miss Casey, we enjoyed a very nice meal and got great service from our server Brian. We almost turned around and walked out, after she showed us to our table dropped the menus, without saying a word and walked away. There was more, but we'll highlight the positives, and hope the management addresses their face of the place when you walk in!
Brian greeted us warmly, answered our first couple of questions and quickly returned with our waters, ready to take our drink orders. He appeared to be the only server, and treated each guest arriving after us in the same fashion, with politeness and a great attitude.
The menu is pretty extensive, includes quite an assortment of breakfast items, some lunch and a wide variety of beers and other choices.
I ordered the lightly smoked Turkey and avocado sandwich with kale, and fries. The lovely K ordered the Uncle Kelly which is a breakfast with eggs, bacon, biscuit, gravy and hash brown casserole. Hers was good, mine was great. My TN Blood Moon was unusual, but quite tasty and K's Bloody Mary also good.
The ceiling of the place is very unique, and right up my alley, with heavy rough hewn wooden beams and a very large bar.
Had we not started off with such a thud thanks to the first person we encountered it would have been a five star experience for us. Hopefully that most important part of the overall visit can be rectified and this place can thrive.
