I love seeing Dr. Forbes! I was diagnosed hypo/hashi at 18 and went through several doctors that just brushed me off. I took the meds but nobody took the time to help me feel better. Then I found Dr.Forbes and I have finally felt like myself. He’s patient, kind, understanding and he is very thorough with explaining everything to you! He is encouraging and supportive! I always recommend him! Love the office staff too!

I was referred to Dr Forbes by my pain management specialist (who I've traveled to Cincinnati to see for nearly 20 years, and he is well worth it!). The two met at medical conferences and are good friends. I was having trouble finding a good local physician. How ironic that I found my local PCP+ (definitely PCP PLUS) through my out-of-state specialist! I can't say enough good things about Dr Forbes and his staff. He once sat and listened to me cry -- pouring my guts out -- while handing me tissues. He never once rushed me or pushed me out of the office. THAT is unheard of, but that's how he is. His entire staff is kind and understanding, and very gentle in dealing with sensitive patients like me. He listens to me, understanding that I know my own body. He doesn't force me on or off medication when I have grave concerns about it. I firmly believe in the holistic, integrated approach. It makes complete sense! And I recommend Dr Forbes and Nashville Integrated Medicine. Heartily.

I have been a patient of dr Forbes since 2016. I was searching for a physician that had a health first approach to patient care. I found it here. 7 years later I'm still here.

Dr Forbes offers solutions for health problems based upon holistic medicine. The focus is on the problem not the symptoms.

Yelp
Here it is, 2019, and I am just as enamored with DrDave and his staff, if not more-so. I don't see him as often as I'd like -- for additional help in the 'integrated' area -- as I am disabled, broke, cannot drive, and have no one to drive me. I've tried 'Medicaid rides' but out of three attempts, no one has EVER shown up to take me to appointments! DrDave doesn't get onto me to come in more often. He understands my situation and knows that I WILL show for my annual, even if I have to walk for days! For the record, my disabilities are numerous and complicated (e.g. Arnold-Chiari malformation [two brain surgeries w/ one botched] and at least three more conditions which all feed onto each other), and they are irreversible. I never expected DrDave to "fix me," but he has been a wonderful help. A God-send, really. My glowing review stands. And glows even more brightly! Bless him and his staff. P.S. His office is not a "chiropractor's" office. It is so much more.

Yelp
I went to Dr Forbes for almost a year and paid cash due to not having insurance, with the exception for the last visit. I initially went to him based on some inflammatory skin issues and weight increase that was not coming off. I wanted a more holistic approach to my health regime that I did not receive from a more traditional MD. I signed up for the medical portal which for the first visit was a bit pricey, yet did receive the ability to get notes and lab results which was nice. Initially, the blood tests were overwhelming and overall a game changer towards taking back my own power in my health. I was also instructed to go on a total elimination diet, which I began to follow. What I didn't receive, nor was it offered, was the ability to "test" my gut - as I was dealing with major inflammation and autoimmune issues that had my skin 95% raw. Had my gut been tested at any time, especially while I was on the elimination regime - the results would have not only tracked what was unhealthy in my gut biome that was causing the problem, it would have also been able to indicate the types of healthy bacteria to put back in there. While I experienced healthier results following the instructions I did receive, a year plus later am still dealing with same issues I initially went for, which is discouraging when I think about all the money I invested towards this particular issue. Perhaps he doesn't know how to deal with the gut, not sure, as a few visits lasted for about 5 mins, then I was out the door. I decided to stop going because it was not getting to the heart of the matter that at times is very crippling to deal with. What I currently know, based on my own personal research and journey is that what I am dealing with can shift with the right gut regime and may even be reversible. There are many "functional" medicine Practitoners that are sharing more and more about the benefits of a healthy gut. I give 3 stars for helping me start on the path, yet would have given 5 if Dr Forbes had offered tests to help me understand the gut issues that triggered my autoimmune issues, as they did not surface before 1989 and no one in my family tree has them.

Yelp
Would not recommend! When I initially called the office, I told them that I had been diagnosed with Parkinson's. They offered to set up a first appointment or a 20-min consultation. I opted for the consultation since frankly I wasn't sure what integrated medicine entailed and there was no mention of a charge for the consultation. When I arrived, I had a short wait then went back to Dr. Forbes' office. I told him that I had been diagnosed with Parkinson's. He bluntly said that I needed to go with "conventional medicine". I said well I guess that's it then and left. Truly not there more than 5 minutes. They subsequently billed my insurance for $190 and I got a bill for the balance of $69.72. When I called and explained that there must be a mistake that I only had a 5 min consultation, they were not interested in a compromise. I have no idea if Dr. Forbes is a good doctor for the everyday kind of illnesses, but he definitely didn't want to take on Parkinson's which is fine. I just should have been told that upfront before getting charged for nothing.
