"Classical Music and More at Schermerhorn Symphony Center With live music—much of it country—on every corner in Nashville, it's easy for visitors to miss the city's stellar symphony. But the magnificent Schermerhorn Symphony Center gives Nashville's classical musicians a grand home. Located between the Broadway honky-tonks and the Country Music Hall of Fame, the center is named in honor of the late maestro Kenneth Schermerhorn, who led the Grammy Award–winning symphony for more than 20 years. In the true collaborative spirit of Nashville, the symphony oftenpresents interesting pairings such as Brahms v. Radiohead: A Symphonic Mash-Up Experience and nontraditional guests like guitarist Trey Anastasio of Phish. The concert hall occasionally hosts other events likestand-up comedy."

"This neoclassical stunner looks straight out of the nineteenth century but was actually completed in 2005. And it’s so much more than a typical symphony hall. Aldridge is a fan of the movie nights, where feature films (like Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and Star Wars) are played with a live orchestral accompaniment: “It’s such a magical experience for families to hear the symphony play alongside classic movies,” she says. “We love watching Home Alone at Christmas. It’s fun for both grown-ups and kids.”"

We went to a show on a Sunday afternoon. The Symphony is located right around all the other cool stuff in downtown Nashville and is definitely worth stopping in. They even sell booze there if you want a cocktail 🍸 with your show. The staff is on point and ready to assist with whatever they can. It has an upscale feel as well. I'll be back especially around Christmas!

We really enjoyed this venue. We had seventh row center aisle and my husband loved it. The Indigo Girls playing with the symphony was amazing. I usually love watching the violin and viola players, but the cello players stole the show. They were perfect for this type of music. Well done everyone!

Google
I tell everyone to go to the Schermerhorn when they come to town. The symphony always does a STUNNING job. I also get the pleasure of photographing weddings here quite often, and there is just not a more iconic backdrop for a classic event. The garden space lets you have that greenery/garden look for the portraits, the stairs make iconic bridal shots, the lobbies are great for ceremonies, and the large event space is STUNNING when studded with tables and candles and flowers. I've seen it set up dozens of different ways over the years of photographing here, and each arrangement is beautiful.

My wife and I attended a Sunday afternoon concert. It had been many years since either of us had been to an orchestral concert and we had been to a bluegrass concert the night before so we made it a musical weekend. The Nashville Symphony did not disappoint! Our seats were not the most expensive but offered us a great view of the stage and of course the acoustics were wonderful. We were treated to some outstanding musicians performing with passion and skill.

Google
We went for a Beatles tribute show. The venue architecture design is elegant, parliamentary, and grandiose. It's a mix of formal and fun! They have drinks, comfortable seats, and nearby adjacent parking. Will definitely return!!

Google
Terrific venue with amazing acoustics. We saw the Symphony and choir perform Handel's Messiah at Christmas and it was truly phenomenal. We were seated in a West Loge Box which offers more space and leg room than a traditional seat. We have also sat in the Founders Box which is a bit more private and offers better views, but also come at a premium price. The Loge Boxes, although shared, are more affordable and still offer great views and an overall wonderful experience.

My wife and I saw the Genesis/Phil Collins tribute show. It was my first time here and it was awesome! We were in the front row of the balcony across from the orchestra. Show started on time and was very well done. Highly recommended.

Google
Gorgeous venue and acoustics are great. My daughter and I sat in the balcony for Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5 and had a great experience for our first time there.

Yelp
One of my favorite venues in Nashville for the incredible sound, the talented musicians and the great clean and wonderful ambiance The service is always helpful, friendly and welcoming. Food is very limited because is only snack , wate, soda and some wine but is just a perfect combination for a fantastic night to indulge ur self with Music :) Highly recommended

Yelp
Excellent music and event venue. The staff is cordial, helpful and generally the concerts I've experienced here are top notch, whether or not the symphony is involved.

Yelp
Everytime I visit the Nashville Symphony the experience is excellent. For starters the building is very clean, something I love to see no matter where I am. Bathrooms sparkle and the seating area isn't dirty; it's clear they clean the space very well. The facilities are always open and working smoothly. The wine selection (during intermissions) is never bad. I thoroughly enjoy the Symphony everytime I come.

Yelp
I took the hubby to see Patti Labelle in concert at the Nashville Symphony Center. The center was well maintained and clean. The seating on the inside was arranged nicely as well. The customer service received was top-notch too. I would definitely recommend going to see a concert at this venue.

Yelp
This was my first time attending Nashville Symphony. Here we went to see The Jackson's for our very first time and boy did not not disappoint. The show was for about 1.5 hours. The seats were amazing. We were worried about the seats but when we got it there wasn't a bad seat in the house. We will be back at other events soon!

Yelp
The Symphony is a great way to spend an evening! The building itself is enjoyable to walk around and admire the architecture and art adorn on the walls. There are multiple terraces and a courtyard to relax in prior to your show. I highly recommend arriving early to check out the building and art around it. A cafe and multiple small areas with alcohol are available as well. The food was mainly prepackaged which prevented me from purchasing any. There is tea, coffee, and alcohol available for purchase as well before the show or during intermission. We were seating in the West Balcony and enjoyed the space between seats and view as well. We went for a special Valentines symphony of love songs from movies and it had lovely music accompanied by phenomenal vocalist. I highly recommend going to it in the future or attending other special events! Given you don't need to see the entire stage, there doesn't seem to be a bad seat in the house! Local or tourist, definitely add the Symphony as a spot to check out while in Nashville.

Yelp
This is a beautiful venue for live performances. It is not overly large, so there is a good view from anywhere in the room, and the sound is spectacular. The ushers were also very friendly and happy to help with seating and questions. I look forward to seeing more performances at the Schermerhorn.

Yelp
We have been here twice and they have been two of our very favorite memories in Nashville! 1. We saw The Getty Christmas/Irish Song or something like that and it was phenomenal (we sat up in the side balcony but we were both absolutely sure there would not be a bad seat in this entire place. It was wonderful and sounded SO good! Would definitely go back! 2. Home Alone playing with the symphony doing the score to the movie. It was impeccable and just beyond what you would even expect. Especially for someone (husband) that is "in music" he really enjoyed himself and that made me so happy! I was hoping they would would do other Christmas movies instead and rotate through the years but it seems pretty set for the scores they do perform. I still think we'll probably be back for Home Alone again at some point and of course I would absolutely recommend!

Yelp
This was recently my first time attending a symphony, and we chose to see Ratatouille in Concert, which was a part of their Nashville Symphony's Movie Series. They play the film score for beloved movies such as Star Wars, Harry Potter, and Disney Pixar. The film is projected for all to see, which allowed me to watch the orchestra at parts and the film at parts. I was mesmerized by this unique experience. It would be such a fun experience for friends, families, or dates. Upon arrival, the ushers were able to welcome us in and help us find seats. We were on the front row of the balcony, which allowed for a perfect view of the orchestra, screen, and concert hall. The venue is beautifully lined with box seats and art-deco style chandeliers. The facility is truly stunning and breathtaking from the arrival to the moment we left. There was a brief intermission. Refreshments were available in the lobby and there was a bar. On our floor, the line wrapped from the counter to the stairs. When the lights flickered some decided to return to their seats and some decided to wait it out. The server was so friendly and hospitable; however, maybe two would have been ideal. I'd recommend heading straight there if you're interested in a refreshment. This is such a unique experience if you're not really looking for a classical symphony but want the excuse to enjoy a night of music. The movie series would be a great first symphony for anyone! We wanted to dress up; however, some were dressed more causal-- it really was a welcoming space for all audience members (families, couples, children, and friends). We will come back soon!

Yelp
Nashville was not in the cards when I was planning my summer vacation. My original plan was to stay in Canada. Specifically, I wanted to return to Winnipeg. It has been over five years since I was last there. Winnipeg will need to wait a bit longer. When I saw that Guster, one of my favourite bands, was on tour, I was excited. The band wasn't heading over the border this year. I looked at all tour dates and noticed that the band was performing with the Nashville Symphony. A rock band with a symphony orchestra? Yes, please! I booked my concert ticket online and made plans to visit Nashville around it. It was the best move. Guster was playing at Nashville Symphony's crib, Schermerhorn Symphony Center. I remember walking down the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge and was trying to figure out what the building ahead of me was. It was where I'd be taking in music over a week later. Of note, names of buildings and bridges are thoughtful in Nashville, but the last names are so long for this person who only has one syllable in hers. I can see why folks tend to not use them because it's easier to avoid spelling them incorrectly! I parked in the lot across from Schermerhorn Symphony Center. I had parked there previously to visit the Johnny Cash Museum, and the Johnny Cash Bar and Grill. You basically point your phone at a QR code and pay for parking online. The symphony center is beautiful. The main entrance has tall pillars and feels like you are going into a museum. There is a water fountain off to the right. It's a nice place to hang out and relax. I saw a lineup in front of the west atrium entrance, near the fountain. I decided to line up there, too. The woman scanning my ticket on my phone was nice. She directed me to where I needed to go. Staff are extremely helpful. I got to the main lobby and another woman asked if I needed help. Yep, I looked like a total tourist. It is gorgeous inside. There's lot of marble. It was so stunning that I was lost in marble heaven. I snapped out if it and asked where I should go. I needed to go up the stairs. I looked at the merch table and asked if it was the only one. She said yes. It was busy. I thought that it would be best to check it out after the show. I thanked her and wished her a great day. She was nice and hoped that I'd enjoy the show. I had a third person show me where I was going. I never got lost. I was in good care. I thanked her as she showed me the way to my seat. This female usher let me know that when folks make a donation, the donor's name gets engraved on the metal oval where the seat's back is. I was curious about it while I was looking at the seat number. One cool thing about going to a show, particularly a Guster one, is that everyone around you is friendly. It was the case with the folks on both sides of me. I was five rows in front of the stage. I was nearly dead centre. I couldn't have asked for a better seat. Enrico Lopez-Yañez, principal pops conductor, welcomed us. He was friendly and charming. He went straight into introducing Guster, who joined the symphony orchestra on stage. The Nashville Symphony was impressive. I loved how carefully the scores were crafted with Guster's music. They were professional and talented. Guster was awesome. They played a varied set of their music. They cracked jokes. Ryan, the lead singer, sang a row behind me. I was stunned, but still managed to get a photo of him in disbelief. It was such a fun show, with Guster members often poking fun at themselves. Adam, who also sings and plays guitar, has a trumpet solo for one song. Both Ryan and Adam made a joke that the symphony was almost outraged to see someone with fifth-grade trumpet lessons play in front of them... haha! This concert was wonderful and memorable. I'm so glad that I got to experience the Nashville Orchestra with Guster. If I lived in the city, I'd be taking in this symphony orchestra often. After the show was over, I needed to find the washroom. It was intuitive. I found it without any difficulty. The women's washroom was stunning in marble. The stall that I was in was super clean. I headed to the merchandise table. I managed to get a Guster t-shirt as a souvenir. I do recommend visiting it after a show, as it wasn't as nuts. It's a gorgeous venue to enjoy great music. The acoustics were excellent and I was comfortable sitting there for perhaps two hours. I recommend coming here for a concert when in Nashville. (335)

Yelp
They have drinks. Wonderful workers at this music venue to help in any way. Beautifully built, old style with lots of elegance to spare!

Yelp
Such an amazing building! What a way to start the Christmas holiday. Boyz to Men and the Nashville Symphony in concert.

Yelp
Saw The Symphony play beautiful renditions of John Denver songs, one of the best concerts I've been to. I was in awe of the surround sound of the symphony and totally enveloped in the music. The lead singer, Mack Bailey, had a wonderful Tenor voice very similar to John's, blew us away. All the musicians, including a fantastic guitarist, drummer, and even John's touring pianist & bassist, paid the most touching, well-done tribute to Denver's music. I would go see this show every night! The opening of "Eagle & The Hawk" made me cry. Not to mention the beautiful architecture and lighting in the Schermerhorn itself. Plus a nicely stocked bar never hurts. I would go to the symphony again, for sure.

Yelp
What a wonderful way for my family to return to a public performance venue after nearly 2 years of Covid. And, Sunday's "Pops" performance by the symphony was an absolutely fantastic way for us to introduce one of our grandchildren to his first live concert! As usual, Maestro Giancarlo Guerrero and the orchestra were inspiring. The Maestro's explanation and "side bars" to the pieces performed were a perfect example of how to inform, enlighten, and entertain. The superbly nuanced music of the musicians was filled with swells, crescendos, melodic and fanciful interludes, excitement, and even a "you could hear a pin drop" moment in the extended silence that (appropriately and poignantly) followed a tribute to the people of Ukraine. All-in-all it was one more 5-star concert by award winning musicians in Nashville's sparkling gem of a concert hall.

Yelp
I love coming to the Nashville Symphony!! I had the privilege of seeing Pink Floyd recently with the orchestra and the show was fantastic! It's a absolute pleasure attending anything there and it's so easy to get in and out of especially if you stay at one of the hotels downtown within walking distance like I like to do. I look forward to my next visit. Please check it out if you have not been, you will enjoy it and there is not a bad seat in the house. I do highly recommend the box seats, to me they are the best. The box seats provide you with a cocktail table and very comfortable large chairs, it's worth the extra cost trust me.

Yelp
Came for a concert on a Saturday evening because a coworker got an extra (student!) ticket. I got to the venue moments before, got to my seat, and went to the restroom, making it back on time before the concert started. The seat was great, rear orchestra (P16 to be exact), and I had a great view of the orchestra. On the program was Auerbach's Icarus, Beethoven's Piano Concerto No 4, and Sibelius's Symphony No. 2. The concert hall acoustics weren't great, the sound didn't seem like it traveled very well. As for the pieces: I didn't really like Icarus as a piece - I'm not sure whether the piece itself wasn't great or the conductor's interpretation of the piece wasn't great. It just sounded like noise to me, and a few times where there was buildup, there was just loud sounds for a long time with a lot of dissonance, which wasn't great. Beethoven's Piano Concerto No 4 wasn't performed very well. The pianist and the symphony seemed to be mismatched a lot, and the pianist used too much pedal and the sound was blurred where it wasn't supposed to be. I wasn't very impressed by it. I left during intermission because I was a bit tired and the other pieces weren't great. Student tickets for $10 which is awesome!

Yelp
I've been by the symphony, but finally had the chance to go! Went and saw Toy Story in concert, and it was amazing! We were running a little late, and the tricky part was finding which door was the entrance. When we finally got inside we raced to the very top, my legs felt dead after, but it was worth it! There is an elevator, but we thought we would be faster. I bought the cheapest seats, but the view was great! We were right in the center. The symphony was literally music to my ears. They embodied the movie so well. It felt like we were in the show. It was a great experience for all ages. We thought we would be the oldest there, (we are in the our late 20s), but people of all ages were there to enjoy this classic movie. I would definitely come back to watch a movie in concert again! Plus it's fun to get all dressed up! We ate at a restaurant across the street before the show and got free valet. Trust me it's worth it!

Yelp
Nashville is a music town, but this is a must see if you are in the mood for something other than Country Music. Located in the beautiful Schermerhorn Center the Nashville Symphony does traditional classic symphonies as well as Pop classics. We attended the Star Wars concert which spanned music from all 9 movies. This was a family friendly event which lasted about 90 minutes and contained an intermission. The hall is gorgeous and doesn't have a bad seat in it. The lower level has a charming cafe with a bar and desserts. Go to one of the concerts where they are showing the accompanying movie. I was also very impressed by their handicapped accessibility throughout the entire venue. I will certainly be back for more.

Yelp
I was traveling and stopped in Nashville for the night. I noticed the symphony had an event and tickets were available online. They charged a $7 processing fee which about made me change my mind, but I'm very glad I didn't. It was nothing like I expected... it was better. They were doing a disco concert and had a band on stage with the symphony and Emmy award winning artists. They even got the audience to get up and dance, which was kinda funny because the 2nd youngest person there was twice my age. To any college age kids who might be considering going, this is definitely worth it. They've put a modern twist on it. I went during Covid. They had me show them a picture of my vaccination card upon entry and audience members had to wear their masks the whole time. Everyone there was super nice and friendly.

Yelp
Last night was my first visit to the Schermerhorn/Nashville Symphony for a concert. A friend and I went to see Little River Band. A band from the 70's that I grew up listening to on the Radio. The building itself is gorgeous. Decorated with beautiful chandeliers and box seats lining the sides of a long theater. And the view and acoustics were great no matter where you are in the auditorium. We happened to have to test on the left side of the stage in box 25 which were excellent seats. And we really enjoyed the show. The Nashville Symphony/Schermerhorn Symphony was a wonderful place to see a concert. Parking was relatively close and I believe they also had valet parking. I will definitely be back soon for another show very soon.

Yelp
Unfortunately we weren't able to go inside or see a show like many of the other reviews have been able to share about. We were only able to walk around the outside and check out this amazing building. It has a classic historic feel, but interestingly enough The Schermerhorn Symphony Center began construction on December 3, 2003 and the center formally opened on September 9, 2006. Really cool building and we'd love to get to attend an event here (pics of the inside look amazing!). If you get the chance, at least take a few minutes to walk around this place and check it out. It's located close to the heart of music row so it'll only take a few minutes to check out.

Yelp
The views within the synonymy are breathtaking and the ushers were so very helpful. I've seen two shows here and they were magnificent.

Yelp
Went to see Jurassic Park and listen to the symphony play John Williams soundtrack to the movie. It was wonderful! Such a different experience, I highly recommend it. The ushers were very friendly and helpful as well. Go see the symphony if you get a chance! Also great for date night

Yelp
Music City is definitely not just about "Country" music! The Schermerhorn (home to the Nashville Symphony) is an old-world-looking masterpiece of architecture that has 21st Century systems and amenities and outstanding acoustics. I am a regular attendee and have seen a number of absolutely world-class classical performances, including the best Christmas rendition of the Messiah I have ever seen (better than I have experienced in NYC and London). They treat current and Past season ticket holders like royalty, with special invitations to performances such as a recital I recently attended which was outstanding!

Yelp
The Nashville Symphony does such a wide variety of performances at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center they are bound to have programming that each and every person would enjoy. The Schermerhorn is located downtown across from the Country Music Hall of Fame and is a beautiful building that elevates the whole experience. The concert hall is exquisite with romantic lighting and a large open space. I came here to watch the symphony play the whole score to Jurassic Park as they showed the movie. This was a truly awesome experience because the music has such a huge impact on the movie. There are so many moments where music creates suspense or builds up to a critical moment in the plot. I was truly engaged and would watch the movie then my eyes would dart back and forth from the orchestra because it was so interesting to watch them play as well. An older couple seated next to me and my friend said they had seen several performances by the orchestra for the score of a movie, so it sounds like they change it up and do different movies every year. They said they had seen Phantom of the Opera and a few others. I looked at their calendar at it looks like they will be doing Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and the Dreamwork Animation set to music as well. Whether you are with your special someone or going as a family this is a great outing. I highly recommend it!

Yelp
I'm a regular attendee of the Nashville Symphony. The symphony itself is top notch. The musical quality has been well-recognized (including Grammy awards), and the programming is extensive and varied. While including the classics of the symphonic repertoire, the symphony also aggressively promotes American music and new composers. This has broadened my musical horizons with the result of greater enjoyment. While I primarily attend the classical series, the pops programming is strong with an exceptional conductor, Enrico Lopez-Yañez, who is an asset in a very musical city! The building itself is a work of art in its own right, with small local touches honoring the some of the symphony's patrons (look for the influence of horseshoes and coffee beans!). The concert seating is roomy and comfortable with excellent lines of sight. I've sat in most all parts of the audience and never had a bad seat! (Photo is from the Founders Circle, my favorite spot.) There are sufficient and well-located bars and restrooms. The only drawback is minimal dining options (the sandwich bar, catered by Urban Cookhouse, is perfectly serviceable though not extensive), but there are many excellent restaurants in walking distance. Parking at the Pinnacle building is convenient and reasonably priced considering the location. A special round of applause to the box office staff who are perpetually friendly and helpful with any of my requests!

Yelp
This is a very beautiful music hall that you need to experience for once if you are ever in Nashville for a visit. I have been to the Nashville Symphony twice: one trip in 12/2017 and one trip in 11/2018. The hall is always decked out beautifully during the holiday season. The sounds are amazing, and the musicians are just amazing with their skills. You know you will always get great experience with Nashville because of the Music City's reputation. I have not been disappointed to both events that I attended: Dave Barnes's Very Merry Christmas in 2017 and Martina McBride's White Christmas Concert in 2018. Both performances were excellent and made me felt so excited each time I entered the Symphony Hall. Thank YOU, Nashville Symphony. You will be always on my list to attend musical events whenever I am in Nashville, TN!

Yelp
Wonderful experience!! Really enjoyed their performance and the ambiance was enjoyable. It helped having a projected translation on a screen above them to understand what was being sung.

Yelp
For me there remains a certain reverence to walking into a Symphony Hall for a performance. It was not a place as children that we wore our "play clothes" or acted out in any way. Both my mother and my Grandma were classical Concert Pianists who would practice the greats on the Steinway Grand Piano brought back from Germany daily. (My mom still has that piano in her living room to this day and still plays it regularly.) So, for me maybe my impression of Handel's Messiah was slightly tainted as I am not fully up to date with our current "culture." To give some idea the last time we attended a Symphony was at the Kennedy Center in DC where we held season tickets and our last show was Arthur Fiedler conducting the Boston Pops for the annual Christmas performance. Long before computers, cell phones or yelp. Also, three grown adult children later we want to repeat what we saw and experienced. The symphony hall is spectacular and grand from the moment you enter. The volunteer staff provide you with great direction to get to your assigned seats and to ensure you have a program and know the start times that you need to be in place to be allowed entry. Of course we shoes up in full formal wear, including my wearing a Tux so we were totally out of place as the Symphony Hall has gone more to jeans and t-shirts than the attire we were accustomed to. No problem here, we enjoy dressing up and the lack of dress in others does not effect us. What we did not expect is as the Nashville Symphony takes the stage that people would have their phones out texting, recording the performance and even talking on their phones. I guess even the rules on the program and announced at various times are not intended for those who think they are special or important. Nothing beats listening to a really great solo and hearing somebody's phone with a Jay-Z ringtone go off on full volume. Oh, not once but on multiple occasions. We also had two young ladies in the row behind us who wanted to be heard and recognized so they continue to hoot, holler and yell at times. Apparently they were college students and wanted to gain the attention of the guest conductor and be discovered. The Schermerhorn Center did an excellent job, they were very professional, friendly and attentive. They did not make any attempt to create an environment for other to enjoy once inside the hall but I guess this would have maybe offended some of the noise makers and we couldn't have that. The Nashville Symphony was masterful and despite any distractions they did an amazing job in their performance. BRAVO!

Yelp
Beautiful concert hall. Very intimate, and great acoustics. I came to see Kem in concert and left a very happy lady. If you have trouble walking, please arrive Extra early. There's quite a bit of walking and stairs to climb. We didn't opt to use the elevator due to the long wait time.

Yelp
If you like live shows this is the place to be, an epic place where a lot of famous people performed. Tonight, we are an audience to VOCTAVE- an a acapella group who has wonderful and gifted singers. The place was grand with its marble floorings, pillars, crystal light fixtures and spacious sitting. There's also several bars open during the event which makes ordering a drink an easy task- no wait at all so one can enjoy his or her drink and relax. I noticed there seemed to be plenty of staff to help everyone- give directions, help people find their sits or simply to chat. These seemed convenient since we never waited lot get to our sits and was able to sit down and relax before the show started. I learned that one of the staff who helped us is a volunteer. Thank you volunteers and thank you symphony for having wonderful people who appeared to love what they were doing for free.. I hope you compensate them in ways that counts to them.

Yelp
'Messiah', well done!! Love The Symphony at Skimmerhorn, Nashville! Than you Vet-Tix for an amazing evening!

Yelp
One of my favorite venues in all of Nashville. I have been to countless shows here... from the classical symphony to the pop series and everything in between. i've seen Bela Fleck, Amos Lee, The Music of Prince with the Nashville Symphony, Wizard of Oz in Concert, and Cirque de la Symphonie. Everything about the symphony is exquisite. Our symphony performs are the highest caliber. The staff are awesome and will get you to your seat with a program as fast as they can. The seats are comfortable whether you're sitting in a box or the balcony. I have also attended conference here as well as my friend's wedding reception. Every time I come, it's transformed to the event but the beautiful building provides the best backdrop. If you haven't been to a symphony performance, do yourself a favor and TREAT YO SELF! Check their website because sometimes they have packages or deals. We purchased a 5 show package which was super fun to mix and match shows throughout the season. You can also check out their free day of music! It will give you the opportunity to check out the building and a variety of musical performances. In 2017, they had it in October but I hope that you'll go before then. The symphony has performances perfect for families, dates, friend outings, and for just you! Treat your mind, soul, and ears to quality music this year!

Yelp
The Nashville Symphony proves that our moniker "Music City" is well-earned and speaks to a diversity of high-quality music offerings. Our symphony is world class with numerous Grammy Awards. Each season the program offerings a nice variety of familiar classical composers as well as 20th and 21st century composers. Guest soloists are all elite musicians. Plus, this symphony gets to perform in a world-class facility, the Schermerhorn. During the summer the Symphony offers free concerts in outdoor venues around Middle Tennessee. Grateful to live in a city that supports the arts to this degree.

Yelp
The Schermerhorn Symphony Center is gorgeous. And in a city known for music, it's wonderful to have such a great symphony that hosts wonderful conductors, soloists, and pop acts and concerts. I've been for a classic symphony and a pop concert (a tribute to Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong), that were both wonderful evenings! I'll definitely be buying some tickets for the upcoming season once tickets go on sale later on in the summer! Support your local symphony!

Yelp
Who doesn't love Christmas movies at Christmas time? (Husbands who've been subjected to countless hours of Hallmark Channel please lower your hands, we understand) So what a brilliant idea it was for the symphony to host an evening viewing of an all time favorite - Home Alone. They seamlessly blended the live music directly over the score for the film & blew us away with a choir for the few songs in it. The only negatives on the night are that the seating isn't what we've all become used to in modern movie theaters & I spent the majority of intermission in line to get a couple of bottles of water & returned to my seat empty handed at the bell with yet a dozen people between me & the bar.

Yelp
This was one of our more memorable experience, date night for hubby and I. Star Wars New Hope with symphony was awesome.Watching the movie and the Orchestra at the same time was so cool. If you enjoy these type of performances this is very good. The Orchestra was great, sounds were right on point, beautiful arrangement. The art of music and film was amazing to watch. Thank you Nashville Symphony We will return.

Yelp
This is such an amazing venue! It was beautiful, the acoustics were incredible, and no matter where you sat you had an awesome view! I'm very disappointed in myself for never having been before! This first trip was to see the Video Games Live concert. It. Blew. My. Mind! If they bring this back yearly, I think it could bring more interest from younger generations that don't have exposure to classical style orchestral music. It's safe to say that I will be attending more shows here in the future! The only problem is that I saw on the local news that the Schermerhorn is going into bankruptcy! Say it ain't so! Days after finding this gem I hear this terrible news! If the hall survives this I will certainly be buying season passes. The arts deserve our support, and make no mistake this is at at it's finest. On the night I went they had free parking at LP field with a $3 shuttle to take you to and from the center. I don't know if that is for every show, but if it is, that's a great parking deal! Also, for those that didn't know, free concerts in the park for the community are held during the summer. Check it out!

Yelp
The Symphony Center is located in the heart of downtown Nashville with available parking directly in fronted the building-about $35-I believe they also offer valet, but when we arrived 30 minutes prior to the show, it was already full or closed. The interior creates a very elegant ambiance with great seating. We had the "box seats" which offers it's own private bar area on each floor. A definite recommend for date night!

Yelp
Fantastic experience! I visited for the first time to watch Star Wars: A New Hope (Episode IV) and hear the score played LIVE by the Nashville Symphony. It was a memorable event and I enjoyed every moment! The acoustics were pristine from my seat about 1/2 to 3/4 of the way from the front in the center. The staff was so very friendly and helpful! I dressed up nicely for the event, which I personally felt added to the experience, but I found that not everyone was as this was attended by families with children. Surprisingly most parents respected the entire event and kept their children behaved so that others could enjoy the movie and symphony. I will definitely go back! I absolutely love my home city, Nashville, Tennessee!

Yelp
Walking down to will call at the Schermerhorn, I felt like I was on the Titanic. Equally, wandering around the ornate hallways and even restrooms on our way to the orchestra level, I couldn't help but imagine that's exactly what it would have looked like when it flooded back in 2010. It took me too long to get here but the symphony was really as beautiful as everyone said it was. Just gorgeous. The sound is also excellent. We saw Smokey Robinson which was a great experience. I love how they have pop acts in addition to traditional symphony performances such as Handel's Messiah. The balconies were stunning and I can't imagine there's a bad seat in the house. This is something anyone who lives in Nashville must do once (but you'll want to do it more) and is also great for tourists. Since the venue is in the heart of downtown, you could easily make a big night of it by going to the honky tonks in your dress clothes afterwards!

Yelp
This venue is breathtaking. I love everything from the courtyard to the statues, to the unique light fixtures and marble covered interior. This is the perfect place to enjoy a night at the symphony or hear a concert. I've noticed that they are trying to incorporate more comedians, popular musicians and discounted tickets to get more people in the doors, and I'm glad that they are making strides to ensure this lovely gem downtown is a success. They have multiple bars in the lobby's so you can enjoy a cocktail for a reasonable price. Put it in a plastic cup and you can bring it inside the auditorium. I love that! Some people don't dress up, but I would suggest you do. It's just the kind of venue that screams class, sophistication, and the arts.

Yelp
Beautiful venue. Friendly service. Exciting and lush performance. Easy ticket purchase and entry. And really, a great view from any seat. I will FOR SURE be going again!! Take a date. Your family. A friend!! Go!!

Yelp
Got sick day of show and was unable to call box office. Called next day and was told they couldn't do anything, so I lost the credit for future performances. "They couldn't do anything", even though they have a show schedule all year and you're able to exchange tickets. Poor customer service and experience.

Yelp
My late wife and I started coming to the Symphony at over ten years ago and I have continued to attend. We long ago decided to buy the Thursday night series as that way our weekends would remain free. There are now seven concerts a year on Thursdays; I buy two tickets and have had the same excellent seats for years. I really like my salesperson, Misha Robledo, who is helpful and has always called me if I haven't called her, so that I can be sure and keep my favorite seats. Thursday night concerts begin at 7 PM while Friday and Saturday performanances start a 8. I like that schedule as I get home earlier, though it makes it more difficult to eat dinner before. Before the Great Flood of 2010 revealed the precarious finances of the Schermerhorn Center, we usually ate dinner in the restaurant there. They had a buffet where the food was great and when you were finished, you could easitly waddle in to your seats. It spite of the fact that it was expensive, and usually full, it was a money-loser and had to be closed. Now Dream Girl and I eat at the deli by the gift shop. We get a tuna salad sandwich and two bags of chips ($10) and two glasses of wine ($20 with tip) and are plenty full. In nice weather we can sit outside. As Nashville's "It City" status has grown, it has become more time-consuming to get downtown. We often have delays especially on hockey nights across the street at the Bridgestone. I always use valet parking though there are nearby garages with lower rates. Valet parking is $27, but with a season ticket you get a discount card and it's $22. I have never attended anything other than the Nashville Symphony concerts, but there are events there nearly every day it seems. It's a beautiful building inside and out with seemingly excellent acoustics. We look forward to our concert evenings.

Yelp
The Schermerhorn Symphony Center is just as beautiful as the music the Nashville Symphony plays. It's always a treat to attend something at the Schermerhorn. I'm honestly surprised that this building was built in 2006. The style makes to look like it's been here for a century, albeit, well kept. The the Neoclassical design with the large columns at the entrance makes it look very stately. Inside the theme continues & there's a grandeur to it all. The 1,844 seat Laura Turner concert hall is equally impressive. I really don't think there's a bad seat in the house. We saw Kristen Chenoweth a few weeks ago & sat on the upper, side balcony. We were able to see everything, including the symphony from above. The sound in that hall is amazing. I prefer the side balcony to the seats down on the floor because the seats aren't the theatre type seats & have more leg room. They've always got a bunch of volunteers helping to assist you in finding what floor/door you need to go to find your seat. My only issue, and it really isn't with the symphony, & that is parking. The valet at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center is $27. We've never done it because of the price but there's always a long line in front of the building. It almost seems like the just park all the cars in front, I'm not sure how they do it, but it always looks like a madhouse when people are arriving & leaving. We usually stick to finding a spot along Korean Veterans or park at the R lot at Nissan Stadium & walk over the pedestrian bridge.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I did date night at the symphony last night. It was a wonderful experience. We sat in the Founders Circle and had a great view of the symphony and the movie screen [Home Alone]. The Symphony orchestra and chorus were amazing and the building is beautiful. The staff, ushers, and volunteers were all very friendly and helpful. There were several bars throughout the venue and the prices weren't too extreme and were affordable. It was wonderful that there is a variety of opportunities in which all can experience the symphony and is a highly recommended venue.
