The 38 Best Kuala Lumpur Restaurants | Eater

"Three friends opened the original Pelita shop to serve Indian-Malay cuisine in Penang, but the business has grown over the years into a famed chain with an impressive 25 locations. Grab a plate and choose from a buffet of crunchy vegetables, curries (chicken, crab, prawn), ayam kandar (fried chicken marinated in curry seasoning), and sotong goreng tempura (squid generously dipped in batter, fried to a golden brown, and served with a slice of lime). The counter-service spot can get pretty crowded during peak hours, but the queue moves fairly quickly and the place is open 24 hours a day, so you can always stop by when the traffic’s a bit lighter. Low quality of anchovies. Fry together with the head without cleaning. Service of pelita samudera getting more worse day by day. Management is totally out. Using low quality of things and plan to have more profit

Pelita has opened today with new looks! Hope they can maintain the cleanliness as it is, the seating seems lesser than before with an airconditioned dining room. Good to have this place running back! The kuah campur here beats Jln Ampang!

Everything that I have ever eaten here over the last 20 years has been delicious. It never disappoints. Fully recommend Pelita to anyone.

Roti kosong very hard to chew.. it might be the roti just put aside after cook then when someone ordered, they just put it in a pan for while.. Teh tarik also didn't taste good.. They just sell Nasi Kandar Pelita brand only here..

I have dined at the newly renovated restaurant several times, but the service remains disappointingly poor. Staff are slow, tables are left uncleared, and overall cleanliness is lacking. It is clear that proper training is needed to ensure staff stay alert and responsive to customers. Orders should be taken promptly without unnecessary delays. Immediate improvements are necessary to fix the unacceptable level of service. Thank you.

Really disappointed with the management! I came here twice, but every time I come there is some uncivilized person smoking! How could these people never thought of other people feeling. Why we have to dine with the smoke? Can we have some action again this uncivilized people.

Famous chain mamak food from Penang. Parking road side depends on the time of the day whether it is easy to find or hard. High roofs feel more airy. Thosai was nice. Roti kosong so so. Most dishes are almost sold out. Don't think coming back since nearby got other famous mamak chain too.
