Established in December 2017 by husband-wife team Noorman Mubarak and Puti Andam Dewi Henry, this stall grew to over 25 outlets across Singapore within 8 years. They are known for blending the classic Malay dish with Indonesian Lombok-style cooking. . The signature Lombok-style taliwang sauce features fresh red chillies, tamarind juice, candlenuts, minced garlic, belacan / fermented shrimp paste, and shallots, slow-cooked over 2 hours, resulting in a chunky gloopy texture with smoky sour tangy sweet savoury spicy herbal flavour. Served over a banana leaf, their coconut rice is fragrant and sticky moist, with grainy earthy floral milky sweet nutty flavour. The cucumber slices are juicy with vegetal sweet flavour, while the crunchy firm deep-fried ikan bilis / anchovies with roasted peanuts have a fishy savoury salty earthy nutty flavour. . The light soft sunny side up chicken egg holds eggy sweet savoury flavour, while the pliant soft otak-otak / otah / spiced mackerel fish paste carries fishy savoury spice flavour. The deep-fried chicken wing is golden-brown, crisp outside and tender inside, carrying meaty savoury salty spice flavour.

After spending a week in Malaysia and eating nasi lemak almost every day, we were craving it again while in Singapore. We ended up finding a small takeout nasi lemak spot in a mall food court that had a Michelin star and it did not disappoint. The food was really good and definitely lived up to our expectations. Though it wasn’t exactly like the nasi lemak we had in Malaysia, it still hit the spot and we really enjoyed the meal. The chicken was crispy, we had some curry, and everything we were hoping for was there in the dish. It had all the elements we expected, and it made for a really satisfying meal. I was especially grateful that it satisfied our craving just before we headed back home and couldn’t have asked for a better final taste of our trip.

First time trying this famous food. They said 15min wait but served in 5min which was nice. The chicken isn't hot despite the heavy customer flow, which suggests they cook in bulk and set aside. It's 7.6$ which isn't cheap but reasonable for the huge piece of chicken. The chicken is extremely tender and can be easily torn apart with the plastic cutlery they provided. It has a subtle char grilled flavour though I wouldn't mind even more of it. The marinade is nice but doesn't really penetrate the chicken much, so the meat inside doesn't have much flavour. The skin is the sloppy type, which isn't great for a grilled chicken. Both sambals are quite sweet and surprisingly, they barely have any spice despite the look of it. As a Malaysian, this might be the least spicy sambal I've ever tasted, even less spicy than Maggi Curry, probably to cater to Singaporean taste. It pairs fine with rice but a more complex flavour instead of just so much sweetness would've been better. Rice is decent, peanut and anchovy are okay but could be more fragrant. The egg yolk is runny which is nice. Overall, it's worth a try as the chicken is different from the typical ones. The grilled chicken definitely has rooms for improvement. The sambal is a bit underwhelming. It just doesn't really reach Malaysia standard.

Do not dine in. they prioritize fulfilling takeouts as many diners wait >>> 20-30min for their basic nasi lemak dish (all assembled early except for the chicken so the sides are just sitting cold?!!…..). No urgency even with 5 staff working. other branches are way better taste and service wise, clearly a disappointment as this is supposed to be their main branch

Three-Star Review for Nasi Lemak Ayam Taliwang - YPHC The Nasi Lemak Ayam Taliwang at YPHC was decent, but it didn't quite meet my expectations. The flavors were okay, but I found the rice a bit dry and the ayam Taliwang somewhat underwhelming in terms of spice and tenderness. The service was average, and the place was clean but nothing special. It’s an okay spot if you're craving nasi lemak, but there are better options out there. Three stars.

We finished the food so quickly there wasn’t a chance to take photographs of our Nasi Lemaks. It was delicious! We had the ayam taliwang and fish otah set. The belachan is super fragrant and the chicken is tender and cooked to perfection; juicy, and not oily. The rice portion is always too much for us. Clean space too. Overall, one of the best things to come out of Yishun (speaking as an Yishunite here).

Has their signature ayam taliwang. The chicken was very nicely prepared and the sambal was very nice but could have definitely been spicier since it was their spiciest choice. The rice was very fragrant and the egg was perfectly runny.

Service is fast and friendly. Overall taste is authentic nasi lemak but sambal is not enough. If order online will be charged extra. Recommended eaten hot.
