First of all, the GRILLRD FISH! OH MA GAD! SO FREAKING TASTY. When it comes to overall food, you will not be disaapointed. It is made to perfection. Almost every dish is delicious. So many selections of food you wont get bored! Oh and the drinks here AMAZING! Kopi Peng and Milo Peng up there with the greats! The only problem is probably the fact that its always crowded. You prolly need to wait in a long line before you get a place to sit but despite the chaos, they have a well implemented system that makes sure tables are cleaned and ready for the next customers. Its definitely not a place to chill, but damn its worth the food alone!

Nasi Padang Minang is situated along Jalan Transfer nestled in an old prewar shop house facing Caltex petrol station . Be prepared for a very long queue during lunchtime but the owner , Encik Zulkifli , will help you to find a table . It is a hands down business from his parent . The deep-fried chincharu stuffed with minang style sautéed onions is the house speciality . Almost a foot long chincharu fish priced at RM 5 each . Chances are you'll end up taking 2 fishes . I took 3 to satisfy a dish that I last had 5 years ago .

(Halal) We reached this non-airconditional restaurant on weekday at about 1pm. All tables were occupied. First, we needed to follow the queue. 5 persons ahead of us and queue time about 5 minutes. Next, we told the server whether we wanted to dine in or take out, then collected the rice from the server. Third, we needed to take the dishes. Finally, we took our dish to a server at the counter table. The server would tell me how much to pay. Then, we needed to find a vacant table ourselves. We took 4 types of vegetables and 1 piece of chicken breast. Total RM10 was valued for money. Taste wise, it was slightly above average. The sambal for the ulam (raw vegetables) was great. We rated it was not too great to be masterpiece but good a laymen as economical lunch. 4 stars

Lunch time is quite packed but fast service, food is also good especially the ikan cencaru. But it's hard to find parking in this area during peak hours.

Been here since more than 15yrs ago.we love the daging dendeng and their caru bawang sumbat but since 10yrs ago their daging dendeng is not as tasty as it was anymore.once it was thinner&crispier now very thick and really tough to chew😂so we just go for their caru bawang sumbat which is still superb.this was 2.30pm@23/10/2024.

Varieties of food availables. Price was affordable. Peak time might be crowded but the staff very helpful in assisting seats. Can park at the parking in front of the restaurant with rm5 per hour.

You have to find a table before getting your food. We didn’t know that and did it the other way around and had to stand for a while, luckily some nice people offered us a spot at their table. Food was super good and a lot of variety. Price is really not bad at all. Had 3 dishes including the deep fried fish made to order. And two drinks for about 44 RM.

Must eat here when in penang!! Veryy sedappp. The tofu/tauhu sambal was very very very tastyyy & fresh!! Shoulda taken two but it was so big. The ikan jacket with lots of fried onions is a must order as per the other reviews. There are also multiple types of sambal/dip - belacan, kicap bawang, cant remember. Lots of ulams for those who like them. For those who dont like ulam, dont worry - there’s a lot more vege dishes to choose from. The cold drinks are also good especially on a hot day. Parking: theres a covered parking just opposite the shop. Limited space though. Ambiance: like kopitiam but can be quite crowded. Might not be suitable for family with small kids (but if can tahan and can control the kids as it can be a bit hot, please by all means go!) try to go early to beat the lunch crowd/queue Verdict: Highly recommended for the food! Bonus info: a bit further up the road (very near walking distance) there’s a bakery that should go visit - cant remember the name tho
