Nate's Oatmeal Cookies started during the pandemic. Nate sold cookies from his mom's recipes at the restaurant he worked at, then started a farmers market stand, and now has this brick and mortar location on the coolest block of Belmont. What does Portland love more than a success story like this?
The store is small and minimal, but totally sufficient for all your cookie needs. Nate and his staff fill the place with warmth and joy.
Right now they're only open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. One has to wonder how the financials work on a place like this, but they do sell out and close early some days. So you'd think if they needed to, they could open more days or make more cookies. Current pricing is a half dozen for $20, dozen for $36, and I think it's $4 for a single cookie. That ain't cheap, and the cookies aren't particularly large.
But they are tasty! I don't know if oatmeal cookies are totally my thing but I devoured a half-dozen happily. Their labeling/packaging system is quite nice and I love that they post their entire ingredients list online. I'll keep the store in mind for when I'm craving a special treat or want a cute little gift this holiday season.
