We stopped by Nate’s and tried two of their cookies. All of them seem to be oatmeal-based and possibly gluten-free (though I’m not completely sure). They had around six different flavors — we went for the classic chocolate chip and the special chocolate hazelnut. Both were delicious — not too sweet, nicely textured, and with a pleasant hint of oatmeal. The shop was very clean, and the staff were helpful and friendly.

Just stopped by for some late night cookies 🍪 We bought a half dozen box for $20. Got one of each on offer including the special. They are DELICIOUS! The consistency is perfect, and the flavours are so distinct and individual. The guy at the store was super friendly and really chatty. Great service makes the experience so much better, so thanks! The store itself is cosy and cute, and the smell of cinnamon hits you as soon as you walk through the door! Would highly recommend. The Snickerdoodle flavour and Cherry Almond are great!

As soon as I took my first bite, I wanted to turn the car around and go right back to get more. These are the best cookies ever! The perfect balance of sweet and salty, and you can’t beat the freshness. I even got to meet the actual Nate. It’s a cheerful welcoming store that smells delicious, as you might imagine. This will definitely be a regular stop for me.

Google
As an oatmeal cookie lover I was extremely excited to find this store. Several different styles of oatmeal cookie. We got a half-dozen which when we opened the box looked both delicious and the presentation with the cookie type on the edge of the bag facing forward made me so excited at the whole display. I love my oatmeal cookies and these did not disappoint. I only wish I'd bought more for the trip home.

Amazing cookies! My partner loves oatmeal cookies. I'm usually not a huge fan, but I was surprised to find that these were some of the most bingeable chocolate chip cookies I've ever had. Getting to talk to Nate was cool, what a passionate and fun guy!

Google
Delicious cookies!! My husband and I love them so much we bought a couple of the party packs for our wedding. Everyone who works here is very kind, including Nate, who was so easy to work with and made sure we got everything we needed. We always recommend this place to visitors and they're never disappointed!

Google
Small town, nostalgic vibes with cookies that back it up. These were some of the best cookies I’ve had and Nate made our experience unforgettable. Every flavor was filled with high quality ingredients and every bite had the perfect texture. 1000% recommend this place. A must in Portland!

Yelp
I got to try out Nate's cookies tonight at an event and it didn't disappointed. I had the snickerdoodle and trailblazer. Both of these cookies are gluten free. Also note both of these are dairy free as well. I liked the trailblazer better than the snickerdoodle but both were solid choices. Overall, I would defiantly would eat again and would like to try the triple chocolate because this one is also gluten free. It would be great if they had an oatmeal cream pie cookie option. Hint hint

Yelp
When a shop specializes in one thing, you hope they do it really well. And Nate's does just that! They have an assortment of types of oatmeal cookies. My favorites were the chocolate chip and (I think it was called) trail mix oatmeal cookie (it had a bunch of things in it). What's more impressive is they tuck the cookies in individual sleeves that have the name of the type of cookie it is so you know what you're eating! Love it!! We also purchased a bag of their "granola". I wouldn't say it's the type of granola you're thinking but it's their broken cookies that must've been baked longer so they are crispy. Really delicious but I have to stop myself from eating too many at once!

Yelp
I noticed when this shop opened up, but hesitated because oatmeal cookies aren't my favorite. It's not that I don't like oatmeal cookies, it's just I'm more of a cakes and pies gal. The reviews were so good though! I finally stopped by and got one of each... gotta give them a fair shake! They were all fabulous. So if you're not an oatmeal fan, still stop in and give them a shot because they are really good and these just might convert you.

Yelp
OK ... I am NOT an oatmeal cookie girl. I am a dessert girl. I love a good fresh cookie. But when I say that I don't do oatmeal cookies, it is to the point where I will have zero cookies if the option is oatmeal. So with that said, these are gooooood. Fortunately my partner is oatmeal oriented so we gave this spot a try. Very cute almost retro clean aesthetic. Very friendly folk. We tried two cookies - the chocolate chip (oatmeal) and the cherry almond(oatmeal). These were fantastic. Not too dry. Not too hard or chewy. Fresh. The cherry bits were awesome. Flavors weren't in your face but still distinct. Worth trying even if like me you aren't an oatmeal cookie fan.

Yelp
We visited Nates Oatmeal Cookies shortly before closing on Monday and grabbed 2 cookies! The store is VERY straightforward and clean. We chose the Snickerdoodle and the Triple Chocolate. Both were tasty, though Triple Chocolate took the crown! These oatmeal cookies reminded us of a granola bar, but also gave us that nice soft cookie bake that we all love! Triple Chocolate really tasted like a dessert and satisfied my taste buds for a sweet treat. I will definitely be back, though it will be hard to choose between Triple Chocolate or trying a new one!

Yelp
Lots of cookie shops in Portland. This one was meh, it just didn't wow me like Crumble and some of the others. 3 Stars, but giving props for a very clean and organized environment and also friendly service. Parking is doable and price points are in line.

Yelp
Tiny shop on Belmont with the most amazing oatmeal cookies. When my partner first lured me in the door I was skeptical. $4 for a cookie? Just one cookie? They aren't cheap, but they are GOOD. Like, really good. All have the chewy texture of an oatmeal cookie, but also soft on the inside and a little crunchy on the outside. And if you eat them straightway, sometimes the chocolate chips are still a tiny bit melty and oh so good. Also, they freeze beautifully if your partner perhaps buys a full dozen and you can't possibly eat them all in a weekend. But really you can. What really puts it over the top though is the people. Nate and his staff are so friendly and helpful and supportive. They recognize us every time we walk in with a big smile and hello and know how much I adore the cherry almond cookies. They taste like there is an almond glaze on them but I asked and nope, just the perfect amount of quality almond.

Yelp
The cherry almond cookie totally blew me awayyyyy !! Nate is awesome :-3 Thank you!! (The trailblazer was yummy too)

Yelp
Nate's Oatmeal Cookies started during the pandemic. Nate sold cookies from his mom's recipes at the restaurant he worked at, then started a farmers market stand, and now has this brick and mortar location on the coolest block of Belmont. What does Portland love more than a success story like this? The store is small and minimal, but totally sufficient for all your cookie needs. Nate and his staff fill the place with warmth and joy. Right now they're only open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. One has to wonder how the financials work on a place like this, but they do sell out and close early some days. So you'd think if they needed to, they could open more days or make more cookies. Current pricing is a half dozen for $20, dozen for $36, and I think it's $4 for a single cookie. That ain't cheap, and the cookies aren't particularly large. But they are tasty! I don't know if oatmeal cookies are totally my thing but I devoured a half-dozen happily. Their labeling/packaging system is quite nice and I love that they post their entire ingredients list online. I'll keep the store in mind for when I'm craving a special treat or want a cute little gift this holiday season.

Yelp
It was pretty cool coming across a shop that only sells oatmeal cookies. It's a great concept. The shop located on SE Belmont. The cashier was very nice. There were 6 types of oatmeal cookies available for purchase. I bought a trailblazer cookie and a snickerdoodle oatmeal cookie. The trailblazer cookie was full of nuts, seeds, and a little dark chocolate. It was very satisfying. I loved the prominence of the cinnamon of the snickerdoodle cookie. Both cookies had the chewiness of a spot on oatmeal cookie. I'll have to visit again someday.

Yelp
Immediately walking in, just smells so good!!! The woman working was so kind and helpful in picking flavors. Chocolate chip oatmeal was out of this world!!!! Loved how simple the menu was, easy to pick, I'll be back! Snickerdoodle tasted a bit dry and powdery somehow haha, others were really good

Yelp
I came to visit on Father's Day, after spying this shop that I hadn't noticed before. I was then informed by Nate himself that they only opened up two weeks ago! They serve Oatmeal Cookies here, and of a decent variety. Typically for most cookie shops, you'll only ever find one type of oatmeal cookie, and it is typically accompanied by raisins. Oddly that standard cookie is nowhere in sight here! Here you'll find little delights with their own unique identity. Service is pretty simple and quick. You ask for what cookies you want, you get it, and you go. Very casual place. The cookies themselves are a little pricey. They're on the smaller size compared to many others, but as soon as you bite into one you'll know why. The quality is very apparent. Each cookie will have a distinct crispy outer crunch before your teeth sink into the chewy oatmeal consistency we love. At least if you're entering an Oatmeal cookie shop you should be of a fan of this anyway! Definitely a nice treat, and tough to not come back for more if you're trying to stay healthy!

Yelp
Absolutely love these cookies. As if there wasn't enough good flavors, I popped in to say and they had a lemon poppyseed special that is incredible. Do yourself a favor and get some Nate's cookies! Oh and the staff is super nice too!
google avatar

Annabelle R.

Yelp
They were out of chocolate variety near closing time, but we got the last peanut butter special and a cherry almond cookie, both of which were tasty and unique, probably would have been even better heated. Just wish they made more of their popular flavors to accommodate customers' preferences. The employee who helped us was super friendly, and the space was clean and bright on a Sunday afternoon. We were able to find street parking just around the corner.

Yelp
Very "utilitarian" as you are greeted inside . A "box" fortress sits before you and your host . Cookie display on the right . Oatmeal cookies , six ways , that is. I choose a half dozen . To go . I let my kids at home pick what they wanted . I was lucky to get , one . I consider Nate's , a booji cookie vibe . Very well crafted . Maybe from robots , as each cookie is identical in size and shape . A treat I will appreciate from time to time.

Yelp
Stumbled into Nate's while walking down Belmont when visiting from LA. Portland seems to always have just what you need when you want it. I had just been talking about oatmeal cookies when we walked by. Their cookies are amazing and definitely made with good ingredients. They have GF and vegan options with a daily special; that day it was peanut better oatmeal. Definitely coming back on my next visit.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try Nate's since I saw a few instagram influencers talking about it! I got to Taquiera los Puñales next door all the time and finally went at time Nate's was open. The shop is cute and the person working that night was super nice! My husband and I tried the snickerdoodle (GF) and cherry almond. I was so impressed with how good it was for a GF cookie! I'd definitely go back to try more.

Yelp
This cookie shop tucked in the busy street of belmont. you don't want to miss out on these cookies. We ordered half of dozen and samples a few of them. Very clean shop with tasty treats. Highly recommend the snickerdoodle and the trailblazer cookie. def will be returning for more

Camila C.

Yelp
Friendly staff, clean place, yummy cookies! I could really taste the quality in the ingredients. If i'm being honest i wish there was an option to have them warmed up a bit but regardless they were some solid cookies. They don't feel like sugar bomb, just the right amount of sweetness for me personally. Definitely going back :)

Yelp
Passing through Portland, we stumbled across this cookie shop. Usually I just pass by, glance and go about my day, but this time something was calling me. I could smell the fresh cookies from the outside and we couldn't resist but to go in. We ordered a chocolate chip and the kind lady offered us to try their holiday special. We got both and both were out of this world. Good texture not too crunchy and not too chewy. What we really liked was that it was not TOO sweet! Perfect all around, would highly recommend for anyone in the area.

Yelp
Really really tasty and good cookies! I could eat them all day long. Nate was there and said hi too... sweet guy. The place is small and sweet-- has little seating so plan on take out.

Aubrey D.

Yelp
The cookies were amazing and so warm! And the vibes inside immaculate--they were listening to music and dancing, and so kind. I'd come here again!

Yelp
Cute little shop in a cool area of town. Loved the snickerdoodle! The decor was clean and hip and the woman who helped me was super friendly. I'm gluten free and they had some yummy options. Looking forward to trying more of the flavors.

Yelp
Nate is a literal angel. I had made a Postmates order that didn't go through due to the snow,he felt so bad he sent me 3 extra cookies the next day when I tried to re order again. I really think this shop is a gem and I love these tasty cookies!
google avatar

JaLene T.

Yelp
Cute clean shop, nice friendly owner and really good cookies! I had the Cherry Almond and friend had the GF Trailblazer. Both delicious. Do yourself a favor and stop in for a cookie or five!

Yelp
This is an adorable addition to the Belmont neighborhood! This shop gives me the nostalgic feels, like a modern day soda shop, simple, clean and inviting. Cookies are comforting, creative, and a perfect pick-me-up after a long week. Top pics: Chocolate chip oatmeal - gooey, chewy and not too sweet Almond cherry- WOW - if you love almond flavoring and chunks of dried cherries this is a really special treat Even the boxing and branding is adorable, the perfect little treat to gift someone or bring along for a stroll in Laurelhurst. Cheers to you Nate and this wonderful addition!

GREAT oatmeal cookies! Who would have thought that you could make so many types of oatmeal cookies but I'm here for it! The lady that helped us inside was super friendly and giving me recommendations. I will defiantly be back to this cozy little cookie spot!

Yelp
This shop reminded me that oatmeal raisin cookies have to be the most underrated cookie- it's time to stand up for the oatmeal cookies! Needless to say, top quality cookie to satisfy any sweet tooth. Will be back soon!

Victoria J.

Yelp
Stumbled into this place on our way to H Mart the other day and holy hell am I glad we did, these cookies are good! You walk in the door and it smells incredible immediately, we got the trailblazer and the choc chip. We will be back!

Jordon C.

Yelp
Best cookies in Portland!! The staff were super friendly and you can tell these cookies are made with quality ingredients. I wish they had a shop on the west side. Highly recommend giving them a try!

Tina T.

Yelp
I love cookies, but never considered myself to be the biggest oatmeal cookie fan. After hearing all the rave reviews about this place though, I knew it had to mean something and wanted to check it out. I got the chocolate chip and the cherry almond today and was so impressed! Generally speaking, they were some of the best cookies I've had in a while and made me rethink my stance on oatmeal cookies a little bit. I'm looking forward to going back!

Sheryl L.

Yelp
Every cookie is outstanding. Not too sweet. Perfection. Friendly service. Well lit and clean. What a gem of a place. So sad when i finish eating my cookie but i have to pace myself.

Yelp
Strange business - just cookies? But they are actually great cookies, chewy crunchy excellent. Good service, clean inside. Simple operation running well. I'm just confused how it could stay in business just selling cookies? Maybe add vanilla ice cream for ice cream sandwiches if having hard time staying in business. Good luck

Dawoud K.

Yelp
Very delicious! Owner is very nice too. I heard about them via an Instagram ad and wanted to check it out. Was very good!
