The dunes are great for the kids running up and down them, playing in the sand.
The beach was MASSIVE! The sea goes out so far that there is an abundance of space so no crowding issue.
The car park is far away, which means that if you’re driving around the island you have a 25-30 minute walk through sand to get to the actual beach part.
This is offset by the surrounding being very beautiful, loads of wildlife to look at and scenery to stare at.
The wind was pretty high almost the entire time we were on the island, which is to be expected on that side of the island as it’s all open to the North Sea from there. There were several people flying big kites too, so if that’s your thing it’s a great place for that.
