Awesome museum! This was our first time visiting and we were not disappointed (even with the renovations in progress). The check in staff was professional, knowledgeable and very friendly. The museum is beautifully curated and very interactive. We were able to “run a hotel”, with one of the interactive displays as well as participate in a touchscreen “what would you do” scenario based activity. As we made our way out of the museum, we were deeply impressed with the tribute walls of the men and women who served our country. One especially unique display was the exterior display dedicated to our presidents who served our country, before they became presidents, from Roosevelt to G.W Bush. There is also a dedicated interactive children’s space with a specific focus on children during the various wars. We also participated in “The Rescue” an experience of the life of Berna Real, an American refugee during WWII. We will definitely return once the renovation is complete!

I've been going to the National Museum of the Pacific War since 2010, I'd say around 20 times total. I just went after the "renovation" and they've destroyed it. The claim was they were removing text and replacing it with "audio visual". That isn't accurate. All the brilliant audio visual stuff they once had is gone. The Pearl Harbor video? Gone. The sounds of desolation surrounding the atomic bomb? Gone. The landing craft entering Tarawa with the sounds of machine gun bullets hitting the metal? Gone. The buttons you could press to listen to veterans? Gone. Artifacts? Gone. I hope you like pictures, letters you can't read, and other antique store finds, because that's all you get. Their audio visual new things are beyond awful poorly acted and written videos. Disgracefully they replaced the interview with the Australian veteran about his tank being hit, with one of the terrible videos, where the "actor" is wearing an American tankers uniform from the European theater. They have disgraced this museum and they probably felt emboldened to do so because the vast majority of WW2 veterans who would call them out are deceased. Until everyone currently involved with the museum resigns or is fired, and a new renovation to fix it is done, this "museum" is not worth going to. Absolutely shameful.

Stopped off here during a trip to see the museum. Definitely worth it and would go again. Lots to see and very educational. Great for adults and kids.

The museum is very interesting although a large portion under construction during our visit. Look forward to seeing the updated museum after completion.

One of the best WW2 museums, I would say right up there with the National WW2 museum in New Orleans. This one focuses on the pacific front and goes in great detail about every major battle. From the outside it seems like it is a small museum, but the building on Main St is just one small part of it. The other galleries are huge. I’d recommend spending at least 3 hours here to get the full experience.

We loved this museum. A major part is closed for renovation until December 2025, but we still spent two hours here. The Rescue interactive exhibit is really neat, but we enjoyed all of it. We definitely want to come back once renovations are complete.

The best museum in the world. It is absolutely incredible. I don’t have words to describe how impressive this museum is and how everything is explained in such detail through a great mix of videos, images, and storytelling. It should definitely be on everyone’s must-visit list and be more popular, so visitors can dedicate the time it truly deserves. I wish I had spent more time there, as I didn’t know how spectacular it was before visiting, especially since I came from abroad.
