"Holland’s leading force for keeping opera and ballet alive in the Netherlands presents nearly a dozen annual productions, most to sold-out audiences. With its own choir and visiting orchestras, the company is renowned for both traditional and innovative productions. Free lunch concerts are presented most Tuesdays at 12:30 PM from September to May, except during the year-end and public holidays." - MATADOR_NETWORK

"Seeing an opera or a ballet in Amsterdam is—in a word—magical. Housed in the canal-side Stopera building, which is also home to Amsterdam's City Hall, the Dutch National Opera and Ballet took on its current name in early 2014 to reflect the official partnership of the Dutch National Ballet, The Amsterdam Music Theatre, and De Nederlandse Opera (also renamed to the Dutch National Opera). In 2016, the Dutch National Opera and the Dutch National Ballet will share the stage for the first time in a production of Hector Berlioz's Roméo et Juliette, directed by Sasha Waltz. The rest of the programming for 2016 and 2017 looks just as wonderful."
Every visit to the Amsterdam Opera and Ballet Theatre is a great holiday for us. We especially love the ballet with the participation of the Russian prima Anna Tsygankova. Bright, talented, charismatic, she turns every performance into a wonderful fairy tale.

A beautiful modern opera house was the amazing setting for Boris Godonov, a story of Russian Zsar and a thirst for power. With about a hundred in the chorus and then all the title roles and a full orchestra and the children's chorus this was a pleasure of both sight and sound.

The building looks not impressive outside, but inside it gives a very nice experience. Been here for Boris Godunov opera production.

Visited to see NDT “Do Not Run, Fly”. It was such an incredible dance performance of three completely contrasting pieces. The opera house itself is wonderful. Acoustics, seating, views from inside over Amsterdam as sun goes down, clean, lovely cafe/bar. Had a nice coffee and biscuit. Furthermore they had reasonable price tickets. Orchestra top notch. A very nice experience.

One of the few truly major opera houses left in Europe. Most productions here are ambitious, large-scale, and artistically diverse — there’s a clear effort to offer something for every kind of audience: from traditional opera lovers to younger or first-time visitors, even families with children.
The auditorium is in excellent condition, with comfortable seating and great acoustics. The foyers and bars are well-organized and pleasant. A house that still takes opera seriously — highly recommended for a visit, whether you’re a regular opera-goer or just curious.

It's location is excellent right next to canal. During our stay in Amsterdam one day we visited the venue for a show but unfortunately it was full. I think it was a mistake on our part that we did not book the tickets in advance. The theatre from outside was looking great. May be next time !!

As always worth visiting, they have the top performances in the whole country! I mostly go for ballets or modern dance there.

Yelp
Nice opera & ballet in Amsterdam. I would recommend to visit it if you are in the city. Awesome live orchestra music and ballet performance will make an indelible impression on you about Amsterdam and Holland culture in a common. We've attended on Tristan and Isolda and it was awesome! In addition this house places near by Amstel river and you can see it from terrace

Yelp
What a nice opera house. Pretty much you can't get a bad seat anywhere.
Giving them 5 stars for their coat check system. This is the fastest and most efficient coat check system ever. They served like 1000 people in 3 minutes.

Yelp
We attended the Ballet's schools final performance and were absolutely blown away with the caliber of dancers that performed. Amsterdam is so lucky to have such a great ballet company and school! The facility is wonderful and great view from every seat!!
