"This quintessential Joshua Tree counter service restaurant always has a crowd of rock climbers and hikers posted up out front. Situated at the epicenter of the small downtown area, Natural Sisters Cafe is one of the most popular restaurants near the park. The plant-based restaurant serves curried rice wraps with homemade tahini dressing, quinoa burgers on whole grain, spinach and sun-dried tomato salads, plus customizable juices and smoothies." - Krista Diamond, Farley Elliott

2023 August: yup still yummy 😋. 2023 March: update! Still a solid 5 stars cafe. I recently tried their chai tea with espresso & the avocado burger. Oh so Delicious! 2022 October: First time visiting. I have nothing negative to say. The food was fresh & yummy. I will definitely return & I highly recommend.

The natural sisters cafe is a couple of minutes from the Joshua Park visitors center. It has parking out front. The inside is pretty small so if you are planning on eating inside you need to come at a quiet time. The seats are also pretty high so not a place you would come in to eat with kids but you could easily grab and go eat at one of the picnic spots in the park. The food is expensive at $11 for a wrap. Our breakfast came to $30 but we could have ordered more carefully and kept the price down. There are some wonderful choices, juices, smoothies, lots of breakfast eggs and wraps. The wraps are massive filled with veg and came with a side of salad. The bagel was delicious. They also have some great desserts. Plenty of vegan and food- fussy choices. We highly recommend trying the food here. It can get pretty crowded here so time your visit accordingly.

Google
The veggie sandwich was delicious! My add ons were hummus and red pepper. With side of vegan potato salad. The food was delicious and my friends loved their food as well. We will be back. It was such a refreshing meal for our breakfast.

Google
The Google reviews did not disappoint. What a quaint little family owned gem. The food was the freshest that I’ve ever had. The breakfast was packaged well and traveled well. We brought it back to our ABNB. If you’re ever here in Joshua Tree, do not pass up the Sisters.

Google
Nice place to grab some food and drinks. Seems like it's a busy spot and not enough tables and chairs. You order inside and wait outside. They bring food to you. Black bean burger 3 out of 5 stars.

Google
It was crowded on a long weekend but that they good healthy food and good customer service. We got a veggie burger, chillie and curried tofu. It hit the spot and we went out day with hiking! I almost forgot the lavender lemonade....wasn't too sweet and had a nice lavender flavor to it.

Google
One of the best places to eat in Joshua Tree. Fresh, tasty, well prepared quality food. Coffees are great too. Friendly staff focused on getting you your orders ASAP during a big Sunday morning rush and doing it well.

Google
This place is great, simple easy and vegetarian food, maybe it's vegan not quite sure. But it's pretty good they close at 2:00 p.m. so get there for breakfast or lunch just stop serving breakfast at 11:00 a.m. It's great to pack up a lunch and take to Joshua tree Park.

Emma F.

Yelp
Has the vegan burrito here, it was packed full of lots of different stuff and the garlic aioli was great.

Yelp
I am a sucker for a good breakfast - In fact, it's typically the first thing I look into when traveling but I just happened upon The Natural Sisters Cafe when we were in Joshua Tree and I am obsessed! This cafe serves comfort food with a natural twist when preparing organic, plant based, seasonal and locally sourced food and drinks. Their motto is: "Food made with kindness, focus, and love." with a mission to provide wholesome and nutritious food while striving to leave as little of an environmental impact as possible. The Natural Sisters Cafe is located in the heart of Joshua Tree right near the entrance to Joshua Tree National Park - The perfect spot to fuel up before a day exploring the park. There will probably be a bit of a wait - but for good reason because this place is amazing! The seating inside is a bit limited so your best bet is to plan to take your order to-go. The team here is fantastic and works quickly to move the line along all while providing wonderful service and giving their recommendations. Service with a smile and it provides a warm and welcoming experience. There's a little bit of everything on the menu: Breakfast, Lunch, Sandwiches, Wraps, Salads, Fresh Juices, Smoothies and a great selection of Coffee and Teas. Drink wise, the Hubs opted for a Chai Latte while I picked the Veggie 6 Juice {Carrots, Celery, Beets, Spinach, Cucumber and Tomato} - Both were so delicious and the juice was so refreshing. For breakfast, we decided to share a special menu item - the Southwest Burrito {filled with Scrambled Eggs, Black Beans, Avocado, Corn and Cheese all tucked into a Spinach Wrap and served with an out-of-this-world sauce}. This burrito was so amazing that we went back the next day to get it again! We will be back in Joshua Tree in a few weeks and I can't wait to enjoy another breakfast here!

Yelp
Sisters was our go-to in Joshua Tree, for their delicious fresh fruit smoothies, sandwiches & a vegetarian curry roll up sandwich. Joshua Tree is a special place, and Sisters is a perfect foil. Sisters is mainly a take-away spot with some limited outside seating at a couple of cafe tables & an outside bank of seats, very limited indoor seating & typically, a long line. It can take a while for things to emerge from the kitchen, but be patient. This food is simple, fresh & healing. Our favorite smoothie was the Killer Bee, with apple, papaya and bee pollen. There are a lot of choices for a small take-away spot: salads, overnight oats, chia pudding, cashew yogurt, fresh fruit & vegetable juices, & local kombacha in the cold case. The people working here are positive and friendly.

Yelp
Food: -Eggless tofu sandwich was delicious. -Tried the Curry rice wrap the next day and they really nailed the curry flavor. -They really pack their sandwich and wrap with veggies as well. They're super flavorful without sitting heavy in the stomach. -We tried the carrot cake after seeing all the reviews and WOW am I glad we did. It looks so unassuming, but the texture and flavor is simply superb. Please get the carrot cake. Service: Pleasant and friendly. Line out the door both days we went but relatively quick. Ambiance: Clean inside with well maintained bathroom. A few chairs indoors and some tables outdoors.

Yelp
Natural sisters cafe is a must ! It's a small location with little seating. I would recommend ordering ahead online or taking your food to go. We ordered the Desert Sunrise smoothie, what the kale smoothie and the bomb breakfast sandwich. We asked if there was any kid options and they were accommodating and made my son a peanut butter and jelly sandwich! Everything was delicious and worth the wait.

Steve P.

Yelp
Please come back. There is no Joshua Tree without you !! we come all the time and ever since you closed we can no longer see the beauty of Joshua tree! Please please please come back for your long-term customers

Ted C.

Yelp
Natural Sisters was always busy on the weekends I came to JT. Since it was a weekday and there was no line and decided to stop in. I didn't realize it was a vegetarian only restaurant. However, with an item called The Bomb sandwich it was hard to turn down. It had a lot of things I liked: spinach, eggs, aioli, toasted sourdough. Freshly cooked, I took it outside and ate it outside in the sun. It was far more packed than I thought it would come out with the eggs coming out fluffy and plenty of spinach. The aioli was pretty tasty. While I liked it I need something something if I'm getting breakfast, by that something something I mean meat. I had it, enjoyed it, then went to get some more food.

Wendi K.

Yelp
Health-Centric small café located in Joshua Tree - with cold cases full of ready-made items and hot drinks / sandwiches / breakfast as well. -Vegan Breakfast Wrap ($13.99) - Giant and delicious! It definitely needed the chipotle aioli is came with through - the burrito itself didn't have a ton of flavor. -Bomb Breakfast Sandwich ($10.99) - Humongous and amazing - a pile of fluffy folded egg with a tasty smattering of aioli on thin slices of sourdough -Medium Matcha Latte ($5.25) - no micro-foam but decent!

Yevgeny O.

Yelp
I demand an explanation for why you closed! This was the only true healthy food experience on the entire Hwy 62. Why would you do this to me? Why would you do this to your customers? Came all the way from San Jose to no more Natural Sisters. I don't know if there is Joshua Tree without Natural Sisters anymore. I'm going home.

Alyssa A.

Yelp
We were looking for some breakfast before going to Joshua Tree, and this cafe is perfectly located just a block or two from the main road that will take you to the park. The food here is so delicious. All of their dishes are either vegetarian or vegan, so if you're looking for meat, this isn't the place to go. But it's still so totally worth it. The bomb breakfast sandwich was our big winner. The flavors came together perfectly, and if I lived closer, I would come here all the time just to eat this sandwich. The egg wrap was also delicious & super cheesy. It's a little bit of a smaller place, but they have tables both inside and outside. If you take your food to go, though, the food is just as good later on, which is always a nice surprise. It was a little bit of a wait to get our food, so if you're in a rush, maybe not the best place to go. But it's totally worth the wait because they're making all the food fresh. Staff are wonderful, and an overall great experience. Highly recommend.

Yelp
If you're craving clean eating, this is the spot. It's near other great restaurants in JT, but this is a grab and go -- so I'd say it's good after a hike in the park or before. I got the curry wrap (which had a bit too much sprouts for my liking) and the Green Mojave smoothie (which was actually delicious). My only quip here, it's really overpriced for what you're getting. But otherwise, it's a nice establishment with good snacks and nutrient-filled smoothies -- a granola girl's ideal spot, if you will.

Yelp
Omg I am so glad I tried this cute little cafe in the Joshua tree area because the food and drinks were phenomenal! I ordered the Iced London Fog Tea Latte and the Vegan Breakfast Wrap. It was pretty crowded on the Saturday morning I went, but we were able to snag a table under some shade outside after ordering. The food and drinks are brought out to you, and there is also complimentary water & cups by the ordering counter. My breakfast wrap was so delicious and came with a vegan spicy garlic aioli that was very addicting. While the wrap didn't look very big, it was very filling, and I was barely able to finish the entire wrap. Pricing is also very fair, especially given the freshness and quality of the ingredients used. I'll definitely be back here next time I'm in Joshua tree!

Candace M.

Yelp
My go to for Joshua Tree! Hit it up before going into the park. Sometimes it gets REALLY crowded but they are good about managing Expectations in terms of how long you might wait for food. For example, we have been waiting in line for a while to order one of the times that I went, and they made an announcement that all food orders would be taking 25 minutes for her to go, so we just opted to get food items from their refrigerator and took those to go. I'm so glad they made that announcement so that we can make the best decision for our trip. Be sure to ask if you have a tight turnaround otherwise just relax and enjoy! Yum!

Sandra M.

Yelp
This cafe was a life-saver after a long walk in the desert! We got some tasty and refreshing smoothies to cool down. I will say the one I got was a little too heavy on the beet juice, but it still was exactly what we needed. There isn't much seating at all inside, and even outside it was super crowded so I don't think it would be a good spot to sit for long or study or take a work meeting etc. but for a pre- or post-hike stop it was perfect. They also had vegan options for pastries and drinks.

Holly L.

Yelp
Love this place! Great food and drinks. Friendly staff I got the avocado toast and it was amazing! So much flavor. My friends got the breakfast wraps and said the eggs were delicious. We all got different coffees and they were all good. The day before we came here and got the CBD drinks. We all got different flavors and they were all so tasty. We went to a guided meditation/sound bath and these drinks put us in the right relaxed mood. Highly recommend this place.

Nicole A.

Yelp
Stopped by here for going into Joshua tree. Got a smoothie & a iced vanilla latte. Smoothie was great and relatively cheap ($8) compared to prices I've seen in LA & NYC! The coffee was great too. Only thing is that it can be a bit of a wait to get your order. There's plenty stores around to explore while waiting, however. Just make sure you have someone waiting outside the place to grab your food/drinks. Lots of different things in the fridges too, I saw these 'shroom shots' that I thought were interesting, did not try though

Chelle T.

Yelp
Delicious vegan/vegetarian food. Love their avocado sandwich and the eggless tofu sandwich. The San which comes with quinoa or a bag of chips and a pickle. Small shop where you order at the cashier and then wait for your food. You can take to go or try to snag a small table outside. No indoor seating. The smoothies are also amazing. I tried the Berry Bliss both times because it was so delicious.

Melissa R.

Yelp
I love the variety of their menu. Their smoothies are delicious. The egg wrap was good once I topped it w some salsa and aioli (which cost extra). I'd come back because they have other food items I'd like to try. The smoothie was the winner for me.

Lauren M.

Yelp
I really wish I took a picture of my beautiful toast but, I didn't, and here we are. This was a last minute morning pick-up and it was such a good combination of flavors, that I literally bought all of the ingredients to make my own at home. The avocado toast is a thing of beauty - the strawberries, the goat cheese, the microgreens - it all works in balance and it's all delicious. We will be back in April and I'm hoping to pick up some more goddies!

Emma M.

Yelp
I loved this cafe. It's a great place to grab lunch before a hike or to sit down and relax while enjoying your food or your coffee. There was plenty of gluten and dairy-free options, there was outdoor seating available, and a bathroom available for use. I ordered the brown rice bowl but expressed that I couldn't eat dairy or gluten. I was told that they had dairy-free cheese and dairy-free sour cream! That almost never happens! I was really happy with my order, and it was delicious. I also ordered a coffee. My dad ordered a wrap and both my mom and my sister ordered sandwiches. Our dietary needs were met without any problems, and the food was great! I would have appreciated more sour cream or tomato in the bowl to add a bit more moisture, they could add some guacamole for that too. We also ordered the double chocolate muffin which was dairy and gluten-free. Oh my god. I loved my experience here, and I really can't wait to come back.

Yelp
My husband and I were staying in Joshua Tree and this was one of the places that both of us were excited to try. We originally tried to order over the phone around 11am one day and were told that the wait would be around 20-30 minutes. We would also have to pay ahead (provide our credit card info over the phone). We decided to come back another time. We tried again during breakfast time (7am). Note that the hot food (like the Avocado Black Bean Burger) is not available until 11am. We both ordered their Eggless Tofu Sandwich on sourdough bread, my husband got their soup of the day (it was like a bean chili), I got their Desert Sunrise smoothie (apple juice, oj, yogurt, strawberries, banana), and we shared a cookie. After ordering and paying inside, we were told to wait outside and they would bring our food to us. It was about a 10-15 minute wait. I had started drinking my smoothie in the car since it came out first with our cookie and then the rest of the food came out about 5 minutes later. We took our food back to the house we were staying at The sandwich itself was good and huge (I love sprouts), the bean chili was flavorful and the cookie was amazing. I can see why this place is pretty popular. I wish I had something similar like this close to our house.

Yelp
I ended up getting breakfast, lunch, and dessert here since it's conveniently located at the entrance to Joshua Tree and I was so psyched to see so many great vegetarian and vegan options! They have a great balance of comfort food and more light, healthy options on the menu! For breakfast the vegetarian biscuits and gravy ($9.99) were rich and filling. For lunch I had the avocado and veggie sandwich ($12.99). It comes with sprouts, avocado, vegenaise, and lettuce, and you can add two other toppings. I chose hummus and onion. The toasted sourdough stayed fresh even though I didn't eat the sandwich right away. They also offer gluten free bread. The sandwich also comes with a side. I wanted to try the quinoa salad or potato salad but I ended up going with a bag of Kettle potato chips for ease while I was on the road. For dessert, the vegan carrot cake ($5.49) was maybe my favorite part of the whole meal! The vegan cream cheese frosting was very decadent and the cake was loaded with carrots, coconut, and walnuts. Their coffee is really good too! And they offer soy/almond/oat milk. Service was really friendly and fast. I got a bit worried that I was going to be late getting into the park since I ordered so much food, but they hustled it out to me very quickly. Prices were pretty reasonable considering their prime location: it was about $30 for the massive amount of food and beverages I got! Overall would definitely recommend coming here for at least one meal--if not two or three--while you're in Joshua Tree!

Michelle G.

Yelp
This is the smallest little gem in Joshua Tree. If you like natural, vegan, healthy foods, this is your place. Check it out. Good tasting, good vibe, and nice helpful staff. Will come back next time in town and try something different. I had the avocado veggie sandwich. Really tasty and the black bean burger was good too.

David M.

Yelp
I stopped by natural sisters from a high recommendation from multiple people, and wow. I got the rock climbers revenge with almond milk and added kale, it was fantastic. In the fridge was 2 different cheeses cakes. A chocolate peanut butter and a pumpkin. Both gluten free!! Then to my surprise was shelf full of GF pastries on the counter. I got a blueberry muffin that was unbelievably good. The service was quick and the servers were very kind. The inside was small but had fun artwork hanging up. Highly recommend coming here and will definitely be back.

Yelp
Wanted to try another coffee shop in the area while my bf and I were on our weekend getaway. We arrived around 10 AM and there was a long line out the door which took about 20-25 minutes. Items ordered: Cafe mocha (12oz, 2% milk | $5.75), iced dirty chai (16oz, almond milk | $4.99), berry bliss smoothie (16oz | $6.99), and veggie & hummus wrap ($13.99) The Cafe mocha for my boyfriend was good but he noticed they don't put any sweetener in it so he added a few sugar packets to it which is provided inside near the front register. He said it tasted much better afterwards and more to his liking. The iced dirty chai hit the spot for me and the flavor was delicious. Tasted as a dirty chai should; a shot mixed in with a chai latte. The berry bliss smoothie consisted of apple juice, banana, strawberries, blueberries, & blackberries. I bought this to have something fresh and fruity after my coffee because I strangely crave that sometimes. It was about 2 hours later after ordering it that I finally started drinking it and I should've tried it right away when it was still fresh to get those lil ice crunches while drinking so it was pretty much melted when I started drinking. The flavor was really tasty and once again, it tasted just as described. I REALLY wanted the vegan breakfast wrap, but unfortunately she said they were sold out and unable to make it this morning so I chose the veggie and hummus wrap instead. Included in the wrap is hummus, organic sprouts, spinach, tomato, organic shredded carrot, spinach wrap with dressing choices of Creamy Herb, Balsamic Vinaigrette, Tahini. I chose creamy herb and a side of quinoa as well. The "creamy herb" honestly just tasted like ranch in my opinion, just a little more mild. The hummus in the wrap almost makes it feel like you don't even need a dressing, but I still poured it in with every bite and it was delish. The ingredients and just the whole wrap overall tasted sooo fresh and yummy. I loved it so much that I could've devoured another one. It's a decent size and the veggies are really packed in there so every bite is pretty thick. The side of quinoa is in a little cup and that was reeeally good as well. Wish they gave like 3 more cups though! haha. The drinks took about 10-15 minutes and the wrap took about 25 minutes which we were already told how long it would take. The girls that were working were really nice despite how busy it was (and I feel like it's always busy esp it being such a tourist area). Their whole menu just sounds delicious overall and I love that they strive to serve healthy and fresh food/drinks with vegan & gluten-free options as well.

Vance N.

Yelp
Quick Review: As a non healthy eater, this food was very healthy.

karina A.

Yelp
The best fresh juice we got one every morning on our vacation. Then those sandwiches are something to get jealous about, the sprouts and produce was so fresh m, crunchy and amazing for our bodies, felt I like I wasn't far from home!

Tracey F.

Yelp
This cafe seemed to be stereotypical California at its finest, 20 kinds of milk, everything organic, etc, etc. At least the food was good, so I can look past the hoity-toity-ness of the offerings. I was actually impressed that the meatless breakfast sandwich tasted pretty good, especially the kicky aioli spread. Biggest drawback was the literal spinach salad on it (seriously, cut back on about 2/3 of it and there will still be enough). Iced chai was also good, just had to giggle a little when they asked what kind of milk I wanted and they read off a laundry list of choices. Also, the only seating is outside, so if it's a hot day, you might want to consider food to-go rather than sitting in the desert heat.

Danelle F.

Yelp
Super tasty and healthy vegan food. We're visiting from Chicago. Had yummy sandwiches (egg salad and hummus and curried rice wraps). Iced coffee was good. Smoothies were too. Wish I had taken pictures of the food.

Brooke F.

Yelp
Delicious juice, great service! Not too sweet, just right. Gillian was very courteous and made great drinks.

Allen S.

Yelp
I have very fond memories of this place, going there after long drives from Los Angeles to our wreck of a short term rental that we were haphazardly and clumsily working on. Especially their vegetarian burgers with Quinoa and egg patty. If they read this, I hope i can one day ask them for their recipe and hope the best for them in their future endeavors

Karen J.

Yelp
Cute stop on the way into town. Delicious, healthy, and great service! Enjoyed the colorful salad.

Allison V.

Yelp
Absolutely hit the spot after a strenuous hike! I'm from the most basic CA cities and have had my fair share of healthy vegetarian/vegan food. There's a lot of highly rated places in Joshua Tree, and this one really lives up to it! DRINKS What the Kale: LOVE!! I'm a huge green smoothie gal. Rounding up my review because of this Killer Bee: One of their most popular options and I can see why Green Goddess: Classic green juice. Refreshing but would go for the green smoothie instead FOOD Chickpea Sandwich: So simple but so good! I'm inspired to add more chickpeas and sprouts to my diet now. The quinoa side salad just could've been mixed better though because some bites were flavorless and some were too salty Eggless Tofu Sandwich: My friend enjoyed this! Not as much turmeric in this, so the tofu flavor is stronger Portions here are very filling and the sandwiches pair perfectly with the pickle! There's a couple seats/tables in front of the store. They're very sweet and bring out the food to you.

Grace N.

Yelp
There are not many options to choose from, I think, in this area, and most of the popular ones are rated pretty high and The Natural Sisters Cafe is one of them. I came here to order food for lunch. The wait was not so long, it wasn't short but it was not bad either. I really like their food.. I saw mixed reviews before coming here but I'm glad I did because I enjoyed my food very much. My boyfriend got the eggless tofu sandwich (which he really liked) and I got the BBQ Portobello sandwich, which was OMG, soooo delicious! If you love portobello as much as me I think you will like this sandwich very much! It was just so delicious. Their sauce and cheese and flavor, everything just perfect! The sand which was huge, the buns were so good too! I would definitely recommend this place. Their cookies are so addicting and yummy also! Definitely going to be one of our regular stops in Joshua.

Sheila C.

Yelp
Deliciously, wonderful vegan place! We stopped by for breakfast before going on hike. Everyone, even the non-vegans found something delicious to eat. The sausage & egg biscuits were delightfully tasty with a small side of yogurt and berries that added a nice touch. The açaí bowl had a great ratio of ingredients. It was great people watching as well. We went on a Saturday, so the farm's market was in the same parking lot. Definitely a place to stop by when in Joshua Tree!

Franklin M.

Yelp
This is one popular hole in the wall and all depends on what time you arrive. The first time we had a couple of people in front of us, the next day the line was out the door. My daughter loved it that much where we kept coming back for food and coffee. They have a few outdoor tables and chairs to enjoy your food.

Binita R.

Yelp
It's was really great experience. It's was good portion of food. Quinoa Salad was delicious and fresh.

Eva M.

Yelp
I have to start with this -- Gluten-free, soy-free pumpkin cheesecake for the win!!!!!!!!!! Yum!!!! We also grabbed a tasty GF blueberry muffin from there. Sooooo nice to have so many GF options to choose from! My husband and I grabbed breakfast and snacks from here two days in a row. We tried the Climber smoothie, Berry smoothie, and Bee Pollen smoothie. All good, but the Climber smoothie was definitely my favorite. The staff was kind and accommodating with substitutions. For example, I can't eat soy, so they subbed the soy milk in the Climber smoothie for almond milk at no charge. I definitely appreciate things like that. Highly recommended and will be back next time I'm in J Tree!

Manpreet N.

Yelp
Come check this place out if you are craving a healthy and tasty lunch! This is a great spot for a casual lunch to either takeaway or eat outside on the patio. A lot of the items are pre-made in the fridge so you probably want to get here before the lunch rush as things will run out. I decided to try the Veggie Hummus Wrap and it was super tasty and refreshing. The items are on the pricier side but the portion size and healthy ingredients more than make up for it. I tried a sip of my friend's Coconut Chai Smoothie and it was tasty but had a lot of a banana flavor that dominated the other flavors. Definitely stop by here if you are in Joshua Tree and need a quick lunch!

Melissa T.

Yelp
The food was good but it was not something I would write home about. We ordered the biscuits and gravy, a veggie bagel, monkey business smoothie along with a very berry smoothie. The smoothies we good but we got them about 15 minutes before our food which was disappointing. The biscuits and gravy were good and would consider getting again. The veggie bagel had almost too many veggies and it made it difficult to eat. In addition they offered a plain or everything bagel. I picked the everything bagel and it had none of the seasonings on it. The wait was very long but it was Saturday morning but the staff did seemed a little stressed and not the friendliness. They have no seating inside but their are a few tables outside but all were consistently occupied. The deco was okay and the small area to place orders appeared clean. They had a few coolers for grab and go dips and drinks. They also have no parking. There is a parking lot a minutes walk away but prepare yourself as it is all sand and very bumpy.

Navah R.

Yelp
I am so deeply saddened that The Natural Sisters Cafe is closed, permanently. I have frequented this special place for 20 years! It truly was the best. Fresh organic produce, cozy charming ambience and the best vegan options available in Joshua Tree. Thank you Natural Sisters for providing me with delightfully delicious and fresh vegan cuisine. I love you and will miss you dearly.

Shaunie B.

Yelp
Amazing place , definitely a do not miss. Food is great. Ambience is wonderful and the people are so nice.

Tasha L.

Yelp
This was my favorite food the entire trip to Joshua tree. My sister and I were going to grab coffee and saw this place from across the street. It was booming ! We quickly looked up the menu and we're so excited as my sister is vegan and I am vegetarian. We quickly rushed over to jump in line and got to take in the little shop in all it's beauty, they had a local artists drawings inside who also was outside the shop doors working ! Was really cool to see that. The woman who helped us was really polite and helped with my decision to get the special southwest burrito of the day. She worked with me to get one of their juices customized to add in a few ingredients and remove one as well. Now for the food. The juice was honestly the best juice I have maybe ever had. It was so incredibly fresh, I could taste all of the flavors within, meaning they put a perfect balance of ingredients. (Sometimes when you get juices and there is an imbalance of flavors you can only taste one or two ) but yes this was delicious. The southeast burrito was also amazing as well as the sauce they included. There was a giant fluffy egg as the base of the burrito with so many yummy extra included inside such as corn, black bean and avocado. The vegan and gluten free double chocolate muffin was a great snack for later after a hike. Loved this place, def stop in if you are looking for a healthy meal !

Yelp
I came to Joshua Tree for the weekend and I have heard quite a few things about this place and it definitely met expectations. We know that during a holiday weekend and Joshua tree food establishments tend to have longer wait times, we decided to place an online order. After ordering, I was asked to pay with my credit card to place the order. As I was picking up, I was little confused at first, but I hear this happens from time to time so I didn't really put much focus on it. I got the eggless tofu sandwich that came with potato salad and a small blueberry yogurt. Everything tasted fresh and they definitely stacked my sandwich (see picture). I don't think it blew me out of the water or anything, but for a vegan option, this is pretty good. The sides and brownie for dessert definitely completed the meal. I think I'll definitely be back for nice go to cafe option!

Yelp
I actually came here twice so that's a good sign! The first time I came was for lunch and it was free park day so it was very busy. I ordered the black bean burger and my friend ordered the portobello burger. They both came with black corn chips and a pickle. The portobello burger was good but not my favorite. The black bean burger however was AMAZING. I would honestly come back just to get that again because the black bean patty was so flavorful and satisfying. I came for breakfast and ordered the egg bagel which came with two very large egg "patties" and melted cheese between. It was pretty good and filling. The sandwich version came with veggies which I liked and I got it on sourdough bread. I also ordered a hot dirty chai latte with oat milk and it was really good I highly recommend.

Yelp
Considering all the times my sister and I've been to Joshua Tree (and area), and the times we intentionally returned to the Natural Sisters Cafe for brunch over all the other options we have, I would like to call myself a regular here. Yeah. But I can only speak for the old fashioned burger because that's all I ever get. I don't even know if their coffee is good. I mean, I'd assume it is. But what do I know? The burger is all I ever get, though, because it's fricking delicious. I like how classic it tastes, despite(?) the Beyond patty. The chips and sauce are happy bonus. Just in general, it's a good meal to kick-start your day. A solid meal. And I don't know what it is: Maybe it's the dry wind, maybe it's the hungry pigeons on the floor. Maybe it's just me. But the pickle... The single pickle they give you? It gives you life. I doubt they make their own pickles? It's probably out of a jar? But yeah. I've never had trouble grabbing an outdoor table with my dogs tagging along. I believe the ordering system is online, and they bring everything out, so there's no reason for me to ever enter the actual building. So that's super convenient. Just FYI. Solo travelers with dogs know what I'm talking about.

Yelp
We had a positive experience here today! We called in an order for pick up, and the ordering and pick up process were smooth. The food was flavorful. My husband and I each got avocado black bean burgers - they were quite good! We also shared a Veggie 6 juice, which we weren't fans of. We called in our order around 11:45am and paid by credit card on the phone - our order was ready in about 20 minutes. (Take note: when you order makes a big difference. Our friends placed their around 12:15pm, and their food took a lot longer to be ready!) The staff was friendly and polite (and masked!), which we appreciated. Note - we came with hopes of eating in their outdoor space, but it was quite small and packed, so we decided to get takeout instead. Overall, we had a good lunch here!

Yelp
Got a Eggless Tofu Sandwich (egg salad sandwich) ($13) and a iced Peach & Green Tea ($3.30) in case we get hungry once we're inside the park. The Eggless Tofu Sandwich tasted good and very healthy with tons of organic sprouts. I liked how it was eggless so it did not have to be eaten right away. It also came with a free side of kettle chips (pretty big bag!) or quinoa salad. Sadly, I was forced to get quinoa salad but it was not bad. The iced Peach & Green Tea was a welcomed refresher. I would have liked it to be less sweet but you can always water it down yourself. Overall, I liked this cafe as it offered a lot of unique and healthy food options near the entrance of the park. Staff were very friendly too. With their healthy options, however, the price is not cheap, and we had to wait 20+ minutes for our food after we ordered. It's freshly made, but I probably would not come here if you're in a rush.
