I visited the store this past week expecting to experience all of the good people have been saying about it, and to my surprise, was quite disappointed.
We arrived in the middle of the day so we weren't expecting it to be too busy, but you'd expect the employee's would still be on their game for any customer that walks in the door. The young lady greeted us politely, but she was wearing sweat pants and a hoodie (not professional attire,) was not wearing gloves while handling the donuts, and her hair was not tied back properly (which is actually a big no-no in the food industry. Nobody wants hair in their food.) The shop has the kitchen right behind the check out counter, which is fine. It was not in a clean or sanitary state, especially on show for customers.
I purchased a 4.41 dollar donut. The price was steep, but the donut was alright. However, buying a likewise priced box of donuts at walmart would've been just as good.
After my donut, I went into the bathroom to wash my hands, and there was no soap or paper towels.
I would not recommend this place to anyone as a top pick for pastries in Front Royal.
