"Airport hotels have come a long way, to say the least. Well, a few of them have, anyway — while there are still plenty that deal in nothing but bare-bones convenience, there’s a new breed that aims to give you more than just a place to wait for your flight. Among them is Naumi, the Singapore-based boutique-hotel group, who’ve set up a hotel whose name sums up most of what we’ve written so far: Naumi Hotel Auckland Airport." - Tablet Hotels

We booked Naumi Auckland Hotel for a short layover, expecting a comfortable rest. Unfortunately, our entire experience was overshadowed by the front desk receptionist at around 29 Sep 12:20pm. Her behavior was shockingly unprofessional: cold face, unfriendly tone, and an overall hostile attitude that made us feel completely unwelcome. Before arriving, we had called and confirmed that an early check-in would be fine. Yet when we arrived, the receptionist abruptly mentioned that she avoided an early check-in fee for us, and delivered it in a dismissive, almost scolding manner. It felt less like hospitality and more like being tolerated. This interaction left us feeling humiliated and uncomfortable. Even though the facilities are fine and other staff were polite, the front desk is the first and most important contact point of a hotel. With such an attitude, the whole stay felt ruined. For travelers, this was not just poor service — it was a truly unpleasant and unacceptable experience. I also cannot ignore the contrast: staff seemed perfectly pleasant with other guests, yet our treatment was noticeably different. I don’t know the reason, but it was enough to make us feel unwelcome as Asian travelers. Anyone considering this hotel should weigh that carefully before booking.

We love this place. Unique little touches that make it special. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Excellent quality linen and decent big towels. The bath in Oasis room was luxury - just needed some bubble bath or salts to make it A+. Restaurant is lovely and breakfast buffet was delicious and included in our room rate. Thanks so much we will be back again. Thank you for letting us upgrade to late checkout. Close to airport and easy to get to.

I booked a day room here while I had 8 hours to spare at Auckland Airport, and it was the perfect choice. The room was bright and sunny with a lovely balcony, which gave me fresh air and I had space to work comfortably. The bath was amazing and I really appreciated that it wasn’t a shower-over-bath setup. I was able to get a full day’s work done in peace and parking was super easy with free street parking nearby. A really comfortable and convenient option, I’d happily stay again.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Don’t listen to anyone—just go, stay, and feel the difference! Beautiful hotel with lovely, welcoming staff. I got the best price in Auckland by booking directly with them. Check-in was super easy, and I decided to upgrade my room—totally worth it! They even offered me a complimentary bottle of wine (red or white—your choice!) at check-in, which was such a nice touch. The room was spacious, the bathroom had a bathtub, and everything was clean and comfortable. It didn’t have a great view, but honestly, that didn’t matter to me. Breakfast was included and absolutely amazing—one of the best buffets I’ve had, with so many options. Housekeeping was fantastic; the room was spotless and the bed was made the next day, which I appreciated. Check-out was quick and easy, and the Indian lady at reception was super helpful and kind. Only one small suggestion: it would be great if they could include at least two bottles of water in the rooms (especially in upgraded ones). Overall, a great experience and I’ll definitely stay again!

Had a great stay overnight before our flight home to Perth. Big rooms, everything you need. You can get a meal and a good coffee and the breakfast buffet was great value. All the staff were very helpful and friendly they do a great job. 👍🏼

The hotel has a lovely lobby and friendly staff. The bedroom was spacious and comfortable but not soundproof so we were kept awake for a large part of the night by people coming and going and children running up the corridors and shouting. An airport hotel needs better sound proofing. The restaurant food was limited in choice especially if you are vegetarian, and the food was average.

From the moment I arrived, I was struck by how stunning this hotel is—every detail is thoughtfully curated, and the atmosphere is both elegant and inviting. What truly sets it apart, however, is the impeccable service. The team works in perfect harmony, creating a seamless experience that makes you feel genuinely cared for at every step. It’s rare to find such consistency and warmth across an entire staff, but here it felt effortless. I honestly couldn’t fault a single thing—an exceptional stay from start to finish.

This wonderful hotel has certainly lost some of its winning points since I stayed in 2019, but is still an awesome quirky hotel and definitely my preferred accommodation if I need to be by the airport. I really loved the electronic check-in, makes it so swift and easy. Staff are still awesome, rooms are great, the curtains block the blazing lights from the liquor shop next door 😀.

Yelp
This hotel is super convenient since it is right outside Auckland Airport, especially if you have a super early flight. The hotel is unique because it makes it seem like the hotel "Naumi" is a person ("Naumi says... -message-"). The hotel was super generous with complimentary snacks and beverages (Coca-Cola, Coca-Cola Zero, L&P, Meadow Fresh milk, Cadbury Chocolate Fish, and variety of tea and coffee). The beds are huge size, but you are bound to get the bathroom floor wet after a shower because there is no bathroom door or curtain, just a glass divider that only comes half way. But I loved the ceiling shower head. The design of the hotel is terrible to navigate. We took the elevator since we all had luggages and ended up making a huge circle in order to find our hotel room, so imagine walking endlessly while wearing a backpack, dragging a luggage, and holding miscellaneous bads. There was a quicker way to get there, but we had to take the stairs. When we were checking out, we decided to just use the stairs. Luckily, there was a really nice staff member who carried my mom's luggage for her (what a gentleman). Breakfast was included, which was okay (just your typical continental breakfast). You can also order eggs to your liking. The congee was really watery and tasteless, so I put a lot of salt. They have this cute donut display where the donuts are hung on rods. But I didn't eat one because I didn't want to mess up the layout. I would have given this place 3-stars, but their service deserved an extra star.

Yelp
Great location for airport hotel Location was great as we had an early flight the next day. There is free parking and breakfast as well (we didn't get to do breakfast as our flight was at 7am). Room was spacious and even had a huge soaker tub that 2 people could fit in (grab a bottle of wine and enjoy the night there). Check-in and checkout process was very easy. Only dislike was navigating the hotel. We walked like 8-10 minutes to get to our room, when we could have just gone across the parking lot to our room. It took us a couple of times to figure out, but it wasn't horrible. I would most likely stay here again if i were to come back to Auckland and had an early flight.

Yelp
The shortcomings outnumber any plus's at this Hotel. I would hardly rate it 4.5 or describe it as a luxury Hotel. I researched what the building housed before it became a Hotel, because the structure resembled a storage unit facility. But only found that it was completely overhauled by 2018. During my stay heard children running down the halls, doors closing loudly and music from the Hotel parking lot. I had to ask for a second room key because the lights etc were operated by a 'security' card slot. I also had to ask for a door hanger as to not be woken up by Housekeeping staff. No help was offered with my luggage on arrival, though I am a small stature, older woman. I generally have no problems handling my own, but I was upstairs, a long way from my room door and no baggage carts were available or visible. The condition inside the Hotel itself were too warm and the room situation was also hot. The advertised Garden was not a garden but a basic courtyard. The pool is average, I tried to use it, but chose not to when I noticed many children occupying it. The gym is also of average size. I only had one meal here and it was disappointing - it was boxed frozen fish, string (probably) bagged fries and a small salad that was decent. I tried to go out for meals but there aren't many options nearby. In fact this Hotel has mostly neighborhoods around it. No restaurants to speak of, No shopping, No attractions and the vendors I called for excursions advised I would have to meet them at Auckland CBD & one advised they would charge me more to pick me up from that location. Some surrounding businesses look like they have been shutdown for some time. I received street harassment, better known as 'catcalling' when I walked outside of the wrought iron gate of the Hotel. When I got home from my mostly wonderful 18 day NZ tour I see this Hotel charged me for 2 nights that I did not stay and some additional separate charges that are a mystery to me. I will be talking to them and my bank about these errant charges. Take heed fellow travelers...

Yelp
Excellent value and location (if you're needing to be close to the airport). We stayed here twice. First time they gave us a room at the very end of the hotel, which was a very long walk. Second time I upgraded the room for about $25USD. Well worth it. The upgrade included closer proximity to the front desk, a better view, a MUCH nicer bathroom (large tower and tub combo) and a king sized bed. The included breakfast was fantastic. It was our first meal in NZ, and we didn't have a bad meal for our entire 2-week trip.

Yelp
A really fun, inviting and vibrant hotel. The room and bathrooms are comfortable and have a nice layout. I believe all or most have a balcony. Only two negatives... the hallways are like being in an M Night Shyamalan movie... full of countless twists and turns that eventually lead you back to the beginning. The second, the rooms are "adequately" clean. I travel a lot and probably have higher expectations than most. But there was "dust in the corners" so to speak. That being said the sheets and toilet were spotless and inviting.

Yelp
A beautiful place near the airport. Just enough room to relax and unwind. Very charming a nicely updated.

Yelp
A very new hotel - you can tell the owners hired a young designer to create a hip, cute and slightly feminine vibe. It still wasn't done when I visited the place which I didn't mind because they didn't do construction when I was there, and it felt like we were the first ones occupying the room. We stayed in room 267 (which was honestly hard to find because the numbering system is strange in this place!). Very nice and spacious for a double full size with all new bed, sheets and bathroom. My only complaint was that the towel slightly smelled of mildew but this could be a one off. I appreciated the complimentary sweets and drinks in the room and the free candy in the reception. The complimentary breakfast was also very good with a good selection of the basics plus an assortment of delicious juices and pastries. I'd recommend this place! Close to the airport, good value.

Yelp
Restruant review only. Extremely slow service. Kids meals game way before adults meals. Waiters where not welcoming at all.

Yelp
The hotel was nice and we got a room near the pool. The restaurant was overpriced, the food was just so so, and the service was horrible. I had to walk to the bar twice from my table to get drinks.
