There are tons of big name luxury hotels all across Singapore, but very few quality boutique options to speak of. Naumi is the epitome of what a boutique hotel should be: small, well designed, personalized and attentive service and, above all, comfortable.
I stayed here for 5 nights on a recent trip to Singapore and was thoroughly impressed with all aspects of this hotel. I was late checking in, yet was shown my room personally by one of the front desk staff who pointed out every option and feature of the hotel. Even though I was tired from a long travel day, I appreciated the effort and earnestness.
Although the room was small even by Asian hotel standards, it was exceptionally well designed and laid out, such that space was efficiently used. The single best feature of the hotel was the bed. Both the mattress (a bit on the firmer side) and the linens were super high quality and incredibly comfortable. Despite ensuing jet lag problems, I was generally able to sleep well thanks to this wonderful bed.
I only took breakfast my first morning in town, as I needed to get my bearings before heading to work. I was slightly disappointed with the buffet offerings and the service. Even though servers and a service manager were milling around, no one ever asked if I wanted more water or coffee. Also, my egg order was delivered to the wrong table and I waited nearly 15 minutes for a replacement.
The rooftop pool area is small but very nice. I did not pack a swimsuit, but the pool seemed very inviting. It was a comfortable spot to drink a cold beer and relax after a busy day.
I would certainly stay at the Naumi again when visiting Singapore. While the Conrads, JW Marriotts and Manadarin Orientals all offer luxurious accommodations, there is something to be said for the charm and uniqueness of this hotel.
