Naumi Hotel Wellington

Quirky hotel located right next to Cuba Street. Excellent location for access to shops and restaurants, and an easy walk to the waterfront. Lobby and bar are beautifully decorated - enjoyed a beverage here most evenings. Bathroom and shower in our room were small, but bed comfortable.

The wife and I chose to stay at the Naumi Hotel during our wedding anniversary getaway to NZ. The hotel is situated centrally in Wellington surrounded by period art deco buildings. I consider it to be a high end funky type of hotel however not over the top with great rooms, bar, dining areas, excellent amenities and most importantly, great welcoming helpful staff. We had a fantastic 2 night stay at Naumi and enjoyed dinner at their in house restaurant and bar called 'Naumi Studio' with all the different dishes we ordered and had being absolutely delicious with top notch service by the staff. We plan to return soon on our next holiday in NZ. Highly recommended.

It’s a hotel on Cuba Street. The rooms are dark and the breakfast is average. The restaurant was closed during our stay but we were not notified of this. The shower leaks all over the floor. I had to ring reception 3 times before extra bath mats were delivered. A holding fee of $100 per night is held on your card till checkout then they tell you they’ll release it in full at the end of the stay. On checkout they say the full holding amount will be credited back to your account in a few days. Be warned it’s a cashless hotel and there is a hefty surcharge to every booking even if you pay by debit card. This is not mentioned on checkin or checkout. They wait till you’ve left the hotel before you find out you don’t get the full holding deposit back as the surcharge is taken out.

Good location. Just a few things I’d point out 1) both type 2 electric chargers don’t work 2) shower is really small, bathrooms were clean though. 3) on our second night we went down for drinks and heard the bartender say last rounds. So I went up the counter to grab a drink, and was told by another gentleman they aren’t doing any more drinks, despite people in line infront of me all got served, and I got told no. A bit annoying and couldn’t figure out why I was told no? The lady bartender during the evening - she is amazing. Her skills are really good.

Great hotel overall, but a few letdowns. We enjoyed our stay – the hotel is lovely. Unfortunately, the pool wasn’t heated and the spa was out of action, which was disappointing as one of the main reasons we booked was so our little girl could enjoy a swim. There were also a couple of small design and comfort issues: the toilet roll holder is awkwardly placed right next to the shower, meaning it gets wet, and the air conditioning was a bit inconsistent, often changing temperature on its own.

Great Boutique Hotel with a point of difference. Nice rooms and a great breakfast. Experience was slightly tainted when challenged about breakfast included for one vs two as part of our package but was resolved in good faith

Positives: Central location, super handy to everything Comfy bed Negatives: Parking - Pay for parking at the hotel on a first come basis $35. If there are no parks in the hotel parking then its on the street or down the road in a parking building. Lights - Main lights in room (651) did not work...discovered this late at night day before we left. Might need someone to look at that. Shower - water goes all over the bathroom floor Self check in.

Rooms are colored eccentrically and the decor in the central lobby throws you off. Staff is friendly, parking is a pain, even if you pay. It is centrally located in the city area, that is the biggest advantage but good luck in finding it using your GpS.
