I was in town for a conference, and the conference coordinators recommended this location. Room decor was fun and engaging, bed was large and comfortable, with a bottle of wine chilling in the fridge, and an assortment of teas, coffees, and options in the kitchenette when I arrived. Staff were friendly and the room was always cleaned and organized when I returned each day. Location is great as well because there are a ton of great food places nearby, as well as shopping and museums. Wellington was incredibly walkable, and the area made it perfect as a home base during my stay. I cannot wait to come back and will be staying here again.

Such a cool place to stay. The venue has such a fun whimsical vibe and the popcorn machine in the bar is a great touch. Cocktails and food were really delicious. The rooms are compact, but really well designed with al great decor. Loved being able to open the windows! Would 100% stay again for business or pleasure.

Positives : Clean. Centrally located.||Negatives : Whacky psychedelic decor. Small beds. Small rooms. No bedside lights. ||I’m a kid that grew up in the 1970s, so have experienced outrageous decor but not seen a contemporary version like this before.||Our room (which of course may not the typical) featured a black plaid carpet, a black criss cross patterned ceiling, black woodwork and lighting suitable for a football stadium.||If you like alternative decor then you’ll be fine, but if you want a space to relax it may not be for you.

I won 2 nights here in a competition and I still want my money back. I try to be fair in my reviews, but this was so disappointing. Thought it would be a nice couple days away from home with my wife, turned out to be no better than an Airbnb. A tiny bathroom wi no room to put anything. And loud due to thin echoey walls. The room next door has the bathroom on the same wall where our bed was so you hear everything...early in the morning when they decided to get up. We were lucky to get the "quiet side" apparently. I understand it's a heritage building of sorts and they can't install air conditioning etc, but still even with the ceiling fan on and small windows open, it was really hot inside. As for the buffet breakfast? A tiny little selection of basic stuff I can make at home. It was included in the completion but we still went to a cafe. Just so disappointed. :(

Overall great experience and friendly staff. Great location too, close to everything. I always tend to park up the car and scooter everywhere from the hotel. Close to Cuba Str too so that's handy! Also love the quirkiness of the decor! Makes other hotels look boring! This hotel is a destination on its own.

Room was very nice and spacious, well designed, only disruption was a loud baby on our floor for the last night. As it's a very central hotel not the best place for a young family as there is a lot of evening noise, in saying that it was well insulated. Noticed where our room was situated meant our room service was quite late in the day, extremely well maintained when serviced. Will be staying again

The rooms are spacious and luxurious! The restaurant had amazing food and we loved every dish and they had a good selection of beverages. Very funky and unique hotel to stay in and very iconic for Wellington especially.

Stayed in the twin (2x single) bed Zing room with a good mate. The rooms are fairly small, but i found it to be big enough for a short stay, and the location more than makes up for it. The lobby and bar look very interesting/fancy. The rooms do have the potential to get very warm.
