Nautico Island Grill

Solid experience at Nautico. The place is clean and has a great aesthetic. We ordered the shrimp tacos and the ceviche, and both were fresh and flavorful. It can get a little busy, so there was a bit of a wait, but the food made up for it. Great option for a casual lunch or dinner in South Padre.

We had heard good things about this place and happened to choose it for lunch and it was absolutely delicious. My wife and I split a side salad and the Favorite Plate lunch special with a Verde fish enchilada and fish taco. Great atmosphere and fast friendly service, we will be back!

We stopped here for dinner and enjoyed the early bird menu. We shared a half order of nachos and I really enjoyed the favorite plate. Add a glass of wine at the early bird price. Service was super friendly.

We will definitely be back! I ordered the Tex-Mex chicken enchiladas with charro beans. While the enchiladas were a little bland on their own, the salsa that came with the meal added great flavor. The rice and beans were also very good. My husband had the breakfast taco and really enjoyed it—it was huge! I didn’t catch our server’s name, but he was also tending the bar. He was extremely friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. His positive energy really stood out, and he made sure we had a great dining experience. The restaurant itself was very clean and decorated with beautiful artwork that appeared to be for sale. Overall, 10/10!

Fast, attentive service for our group of eight. I had the fish and shrimp platter with sides of zucchini and rice. Fish, shrimp, and zucchini were all grilled and seasoned perfectly. Dining room was brightly decorated with artwork. So glad we stopped by!

We went here twice on vacation and loved the vibe. The food was amazing, the service was great, and they cooked our fresh-caught fish. We’ll be back!

The place is very nice and has a pleasant atmosphere. The service was fine, although it could improve in attention to detail. The food was good, but I had an issue: I ordered a shrimp taco bowl and was served a fish one. I’m not sure if it was a kitchen error or a mistake when taking the order. Since I don’t like fish, I would have appreciated if someone had come by to check if everything was okay, especially considering the restaurant wasn’t very full at the time.

Update: I had the Caribbean Crunch Sandwich... omg, that is amazing! It's hard to pick up and eat bc the chicken is so big. But it was delicious! Claire took AMAZING care of me at the bar! She was fun, made me the best Carajillo ever, and then served me up right with fish enchiladas.... which are so damn delicious. Just do it.

Blackened fish tacos were so delicious! We also had a signature Nautico drink called the Frozen Basil Limeaide! The champagne mimosa flight was such a cool thing to try....my very favorite thing to drink (champagne)! The service was exceptional, especially when I spilled some sauce all over myself and a nice server came to help clean it up! As for the ambiance, the piped music playing throughout was really my vibe! Will recommend to everyone and plan on returning, soon!

This is a fantastic restaurant offering excellent, attentive service and a wide variety of delicious dishes. The stunning views of the beach and water add a memorable touch to the dining experience and make it well worth the price. Even when a dish isn't quite to taste, the staff transforms the situation into an opportunity for greatness. For example, my son didn't enjoy his fettuccine Alfredo, but our waitress quickly stepped in, replacing it with a burger that he absolutely loved. Her effort to ensure he had a positive experience was truly commendable. The Big Kahuna is a standout option--filling, flavorful, and a creative twist on Mexican-inspired cuisine. And don't forget to save room for dessert--they are absolutely worth it!

Náutico has made my dreams of incredible fish tacos in Texas come true. The fish tacos at Náutico outshine those of the "taco capital" Austin, most any I've had in California, and rival those of the Mexican pacific coast. Super fresh grilled fish (with fried and blackened options), fresh crispy slaw, perfectly fried tortillas and flavorful chipotle salsas. This place is the best food I've had on SPI and is one of the best I've had in Texas period. Their poblano fish enchilada was also outstanding. Friendly service, clean modern restaurant, and respectful patrons. What a great find. Should I come back to SPI this will be a must be visit. Their 2-6 early bird dinner special is a great value too if you want to try a few things.

It was a father and son lunch for Sharvil and Me and we because Anuya does not like seafood and we do, we figured we needed to get seafood. Nautico grill showed up in seafood near me search and the menu looked interesting so off we went. They do not have beer on tap, which meant it was going to be a quick lunch. Sharvil got the Poblano fish enchiladas and I got the Blackened Shrimp and Fish platter. My sides were the Mashed potatoes and the Mexican rice and the potatoes were what lost them the 1 star. They tasted boiled and chunky and sort of ruined the meal for me. The fish and shrimp had enough flavor to save the day. Not going back to this one if we are in SPI again.

This place is simply amazing! I had the Pablano fish enchiladas, and Wife had chicken verde tacos. Both were simply delicious. The service was super friendly. The margaritas were great and the beer was cold. Since we were there to see the SpaceX Starship launch, it was fun to see NSF on YouTube on the TV in the dining room. We loved this place so much, we came back on the very next day and ordered the exact same entrees as before (which is completely unusual for us) No questions... 5 stars. Oh yeah.... Great margaritas too!

Since it was a rainy and cold night on the island we decided to check out Nautico and it was amazing!! Super packed the entire time we were there so obviously this was a popular place. The pina colada tasted a little weird because it was wine based but the food was amazing!! especially the espresso cake! amazing and fast service that pre busses amazingly!

We have been long-time fans of Cap'n Roy's, specifically their fish tacos. We were so sad to hear he retired because those tacos were the standard by which we measured all fish tacos. But today we decided to give Nautico a try and were overjoyed to learn that the place has a new name and new owners, but the staff is largely the same and the tacos are still on the menu! Delicious as always. So grateful to have this place to look forward to every time we come to the island. Great warm salsa and chips; love their rice and beans. Wish I could speak to anything else on the menu but I've never ordered anything but the fish tacos! Decor is spruced up but largely the same. And their margaritas are really great. Hit this gem up. And thanks, Roy, for passing the baton.

Stopped in for a quick lunch. The grilled flounder was great! As was the fruit side and burger.

This was our first time eating here and we loved what we got. The nacho supreme is a must. The tortilla chips didn't get soggy and it tasted amazing. We will be coming back just for this dish. We tried out the poblano seafood enchiladas and those were super good as well. The coconut cream pie was a delicious desert as well. Overall it was a 10/10 restaurant for us and the kids got chicken tenders with fries. The inside is really nicely decorated and they have all of their art on the wall for sale. Customer service was wonderful as well.

This literally was the best enchiladas verde I have ever had! The chicken was tender and the verde sauce was flavorful with just the right amount of spice. it actually had a good kick to it which is what I love. My husband got the seafood enchiladas which had the same verde sauce...Help me! That was amazing to! We are voting the area to the Space X launch so we're only here for a few days so there's a lot of restaurants to choose from but I seriously want to come back the next day. I highly recommend this place!

Just a little hole in the wall but the Mexican food was so good ! Great friendly service. Can't wait to dine here again

What a great place!!! There is lots of space inside for seating. It was a little busy when we went so it was a bit loud. Fortunately there is outdoor seating and that was perfect. Nice breeze and the sound of the cars and people walking by was very soothing. The food was delicious. Highly recommend the Stuffed Jalapeño and the Poblano Shrimp Pasta. Both had a little kick on spice level but super tasty. Keep in mind thought we were told that sometimes the spice level is mild and sometimes it's really spicy! So Good Luck!!!

Nice outdoor area and delicious food. The rice and cheese dip were our favorites. We will be back next time we're in town!

When we pulled up there weren't many cars in the parking lot at dinner time, we almost left. Thank goodness we didn't. The appetizer, bacon wrapped shrimp, was absolutely amazing ! Main course Tex-mex enchiladas & grilled fish tacos. Both were excellent And because the first two courses were delicious, we decided to try the Coconut Cream Pie ( only because they sold out of Key Lime pie) , they hit a home run with the third course ! Service was great and the staff was very friendly. Definite must try for anyone visiting South Padre Island.

This place was awesome! The staff was great and worked hard to get us served. It was a great relaxed atmosphere and I was able to hear my coworkers. And honestly, the food was pretty darn amazing too. If it wasn't for wanting to try the other places in the area, i would've eaten here the whole trip. Make sure you stop by. You will enjoy your visit!

Food was great, service was great, cute clean place to stop at for dinner and eat! I had the 2 culpas and they were very delicious, and my son had the kids fried shrimp and fruit and ate it all! We are not from here, glad we read the great reviews and stopped in!

They cook your catch. I recommend the fish enchiladas You can't go wrong. They are quick and very friendly.

We enjoyed the food at this restaurant for the most part w a couple of exceptions and service was good. I had fish tacos and hubby had the chicken enchiladas verde. He did not care for the lime crema on the enchiladas. My tacos were good but I felt fish wasn't seasoned well and without the sauces the dish lacked flavor. Ambiance is casual. As far as drinks, my basil limeade was good, similar to a mojito. My husband had the house frozen margarita and this had a very weird aftertaste, I took a sip and agreed. After a few sips he gave up. Overall though you could do worse on SPI.

This place was not bad. The service was very good. Our server Ana took good care of us. I did have an issue with the pina colada having zero alcohol in it. This seems to be a theme on south padre island. If I were you I would stick to beer in a bottle. The mimosas were ok. My son had the blue burger. He reported it was just ok. Too much blue in the burger. I had the Mexican plate. I was not overly impressed. My husband really enjoyed the big kahuna. I'm gonna give the place a solid C. We did get seated right away on a Tuesday at 7 pm. Prices were fair for 2024.

Fun island vibes in a cute, laid-back setting. Our party enjoyed everything we tried including the Mexi Fajita Salad (in chicken and beef), Mexican tacos, and enchiladas. Great service and very clean restaurant. 10/10 would eat at Nautico again! Also..get the tortillas! They are homemade!

We tried here thinking there would be a variety of options for a family of 5. The Blue Burger was a mess and smothered in blue cheese. Son's friend said it was gross and couldn't eat it. He tried to take out the blue cheese but it was smothered in it and got messy. My fish bowl was ok, guess I really don't like mahi mahi. It didn't taste fresh. They did like the chicken quesadillas.

Food was great and service was spot on. Plenty to choose from on the menu. We will definitely be back.

Located off the Main Street easy parking. THE best fish tacos I've had-hubby had the mahi bowl-equally delicious and fresh ingredients! The jalapeño cream sauce is divine. Cute little place, clean, great service-another server noticed my soda was low and refilled it. Hit the spot!

Amazing spot! My family and I were in town and decided to come here because of the reviews & it did not disappoint! The food is fast and great, the place was so clean and the service was fantastic. We highly recommend coming here. The charro beans were by far my favorite and the key lime pie was soooo good!

Food and service were good. The fish and shrimp were delicious. My husband had the blue cheese burger which he enjoyed. They do need more of a selection in alcoholic drinks.

Decor/service: clean and nicely decorated place. The food came quick but the rest of the service was slow and there was barely anybody there. 3/5 Food: Nautico fries- pretty solid appetizer option. Would have liked a little more accompaniments on the fries but solid bite overall 4/5 Tex-mex enchiladas- eh? Generally lacked flavor. The sides were good but the star of the dish was quite bland 3/5 Drinks- lots of frozen drink options all of which were pretty tasty.

Highly recommend!!!! The staff is extremely attentive, friendly, and the staff works well together. We never asked for refills on drinks because they were on top of it. My youngest claimed that this was the best shrimp ever. She said it was very fresh and is now on the hunt for something that compares. The oldest daughter got the shrimp tacos blackened. She says the seasoning was really good. My husband and I both had the platter consisting of tostada, taco, 2 enchiladas (I had chicken and he had cheese), with beans and rice. All of it was good. The chicken enchiladas were perfect. The seasoning on the chicken was really good. I realize it's just a tostada, but it was delicious. I eat a lot of Mexican food (I'd be happy eating it daily). It was so so good. The restaurant itself was quaint. It's bright and beachy. It was very clean. I'd eat here again if we had more time.

Not too bad! Came here after our initial 5-6 hour drive to the island and we were famished. The waitresses were nice and seated us immediately. I got a cheese quesadilla with beans and rice. Also a basket of chips and salsa for the table. I wouldn't say it was anything super special, but it hit the spot!

Our last day on the Island and we were ready to go get a burger. We had originally gone down to Mahi Nick's, but their grill was out, so back up the drag we went. No big deal, because we had actually been considering Nautico during the week. Lucky thing! It was outstanding. We had burgers and the half order of nachos. The burgers were as good as anywhere. These are not "old fashioned" burgers but more of what I'd call a Vegas Burger. Thick patty, upgraded bun that doesn't get in its way, all the usual toppings and a delightful aioli. Service was prompt, friendly, and extremely helpful. I liked it so much I bought a t-shirt!

Enjoyed our dinner at Nautico's last night. Tried the Augua Chile Shrimp and loved it. So much shrimp in a light Chile lime sauce. We love ceviche and this was a great alternative. He had the shrimp poboy; crunchy bread and crisp shrimp. He wanted some horseradish in the cocktail sauce but said it was very good. I had the bacon wrapped shrimp appetizer and a side salad. These bacon wrapped shrimp were exquisite. Six pieces and I cut them into two bites each. They were so delicious. Service was good and we did not have to wait for a table. The art on the walls inspired me to want to paint again. We will return.

Blackened fish was tasty, not overly seasoned, grilled shrimp were plump, fried oysters were just ok. And then there was dessert- homemade coconut cream pie- so delicious! Service was friendly and helpful. Neat art on the walls and Christmas music made it very fun.

Great spot to stop in for delicious Tex-Mex. It's a seat yourself, relaxed beach vibe with a mesmerizing ocean view. The chips are homemade with thick tortillas and the salsa has a fantastic kick. I'm guilty of being one those people who can fill up on just chips, guacamole and salsa. The shrimp cocktail is amazing! Also, do try the Poblano Fish Enchiladas! Truly one of a kind dishes.

I had there hamburger and cucumber lime refresher. It hit the spot. It was absolutely wonderful!!

Fish tacos were delicious here! The service and staff were very prompt and friendly, making a nice atmosphere. I LOVED that they had a mocktail menu easily viewable. I wish all restaurants did this!

The reviews weren't wrong this place was top notch! If I lived down there it would be my go to place! The food was excellent and tasted great! The service was great seeing that they only had two severs and the restaurant was packed! Overall a must stop if you go down to the island!

We always come here when we stay in SPI. The poblano fish enchiladas and shrimp tacos are my favorite along with the rice and charro beans (these were incredible). Portions are massive and can be shared or taken to go to enjoy the next day (this is my preference ).

Very cute new restaurant on the island serving all the good staples. It's a fair mix of Mexican, seafood, pasta, and stuff for the little ones. The seat yourself feature is very convenient and cute down on waiting time. They have a delightfully robust mimosa selection for a great price. I had the hibiscus mimosa and it came dressed with a flower. It was tasty and it was also very strong (or I'm a lightweight). Excellent flavor, refreshing, stunning to look at! For my meal I ordered the shrimp cocktail and while it's normally an appetizer, it filled me up nicely! The goblet is deceptively deep, I ran out of chips and crackers before I ran out of shrimp! The sauce was sweet and tangy and the avocado placed on top was the perfect ripeness. For dessert we split the key lime pie and it was heaven on a plate. Tangy and tart, the perfect cap to end the meal! Service was excellent, too. Our waitress was kind and attentive, and made things very fast and efficient with a portable checkout machine. Technology!! Loved the interior decor. All kinds of paintings and modern twists in the "nautical" theme were on the walls, like a bright pink swordfish. It's a lovely little place and I'm excited to go back when I visit the island again. Great addition!

We always make it to Nautico Island Grill when we visit the island. Delicious food & wonderful service every single time! The poblano seafood enchiladas are a favorite.

We went here yesterday- A Sunday The restaurant was filled with lots of locals. My husband had the Mexican plate and really liked it. I had 3 mahi tacos/ plain rice/ refried beans. All very good. Waitresses great and restaurant VERY clean. Recommend this cute restaurant

We stopped in for a late lunch/early dinner, so there was no wait. The Island Chopped Salad was nicely done and a unique take on a chopped salad. They also had a nice selection of mocktails. The NA hibiscus mimosa was lovely and unexpected.

Awesome Food, Ambiance and Service! Sat on the deck for a delicious lunch last week and it felt like we were on Vacation. The Burger is a Must!! Run, skip or skate to this epically special restaurant.

We ordered online for takeout and it was ready on time, super easy drive-thru. Food was delicious. I had chalupas, kids fried shrimp had 4 big shrimps, big fruit bowl. Hubs had a large delicious shrimp quesadilla. All was great, highly recommend.

Amazing food, clean, fast service. The food looked fantastic when it came out and tasted even better. Even their salads were phenomenal.

Went here for dinner looking for fish tacos. The service was friendly and timely. The restaurant was clean and appeared to be well kept. For the food the fish tacos were outstanding. The fish was cooked perfectly and flavorful. We also had the poblano fish enchiladas, and this meal too was tremendous. Also, the charro beans are to die for.
