NAXIAN UTOPIA Luxury Villas & Suites | Naxos Island

Pros: |1. LARGE, spacious room - more like a small apartment. But, oddly enough, no drawers or closets for clothes, so we left our open suitcases on the 2 living room couches, not a big deal, but weird with all that space to not have drawers.|2. Beautiful private, quiet, outdoor area with lounge chairs, large pool and gazebo - oh yeah, and STUNNING mountain views!|3. Breakfast - WOW - so much food, homemade, fresh, and absolutely delicious! |4. Very quiet, secluded area - away from crowds, noise, etc. |5. Lovely staff ||Cons:|1. SOOO far (walking-wise) from beaches/restaurants, stores, etc. Whoever says it is "walking distance" from the beaches is crazy! I am a hiker/walker and would not walk the dirt paved, DARK, winding road to the beaches daily, which BTW is easily 15-20 mins walk in the heat! Note: Rent a car like we did (it's very cheap - $180 for 4 days @ NaxosWay) and you can jet around this island and see so much more at your leisure and the hotel has a parking lot too). |2. Area needs some 'cleaning up" to really be/look like a luxury hotel - entrance to hotel is not attractive - dirt entryway with really no loading area, houses surrounding the hotel are an eyesore. Area just doesn't scream "luxury" based by it's surroundings and landscape. ||All in all -this was a beautiful, luxury, spacious hotel and if you want a quiet place at the end of the day to unwind, this is the one!

I‘m reviewing here, because HOTELS.COM somehow doesn‘t publish my review. Modern, clean and comfortable private villa with stunning views and great hammam. Delicious breakfast with plenty of options and homemade cakes. Nice food delievered to the villa. Beautiful views from the upper tarrace. The negatives: reception and service ladies were unfortunately either not there or very slow and forgot stuff. Also not attentive or friendly. One was carrying two empty plates and two beers and dropped one, waiting time for the next beer was 30minutes, one hour until it was cleaned. Also, our booking of additional nights which was made 2 weeks in advance on the same day as the first booking, got cancelled 1 day before our flight, which was really annoying as we didn‘t have time to look for anything new and other options we liked were fully booked. This was very unprofessional and never happened to me before, although I‘m a very frequent traveller. It‘s a nice place, but with so much chaos in the planning, that you can‘t even trust the booking confirmation and in this price range, is a no go. This made us choose from still available options on the go :/ There is nothing in the walking distance, so you need own transport or take the bus. A walk to the next village and beach looked quite dangerous (no sideways).

Unless you have a car, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. It’s about a 15 minute walk to the small beachfront town, which is the closest civilization. The walk is quite perilous during the daytime with no sidewalks or shoulder and speeding cars, trucks & buses. A 3 minute taxi ride to the beach town is 20 Euros each way. So $40 Euros just to get to & from the small town. The hotel abuts a water park which thankfully was closed for the season. But when it’s operational during the summer, I can’t imagine the noise from the traffic (dirt roads) and kids. Why would you choose to stay inland, looking at dirt and rocks, when you’re visiting an island? There are plenty of nice hotels near the water and in Naxos City. On the plus side, our spacious suite was nicely appointed and very clean and modern with a beachy vibe. (The private pool with our suite was a nice size, but not very private since the main pool was right above and people could and did look down to check us out and say Hi.) The staff was helpful and the breakfast buffet was good, with a really great coffee machine.

We had the most amazing time in naxos and at the Naxian Utopia. Traveled with a party of 3 with a baby and the villa was perfect for us. The views from the communal pool were fantastic. Anna and all of the rest of the front desk were super helpful to reserve a rental car, dinner recommendations and reservations, and literally anything else we could need. breakfast was delicious. 12-15 min walk into the beach town of Agios Prokopios where you can rent beach chairs and get food. Would highly recommend renting a car to get around the island - drive into chora, up into the mountain villages.

Review of Naxos Utopia – 2.5 Stars The arrival was underwhelming — a dirt road leads to a paved entryway, but there’s nowhere proper to stop and unload luggage. Check-in still had Covid-era plastic barriers, which set the tone. Our “upgraded” room with a private pool wasn’t private at all; the low-trimmed plants made it easy to see neighbors. The room lacked basics: no dresser drawers, no closet, nowhere to place toiletries, and the drapes offered little privacy or light control. The location is inconvenient. Walking to town feels unsafe with narrow roads and fast traffic, so you really need a car. Parking is far from the rooms, on a dusty dirt lot, and the walk includes barking dogs, roosters, and even a deserted waterpark across the way. The property is clean and presentable, but overall it fell short on comfort, privacy, and convenience.

TLDR: Expected this to be a luxury hotel and it’s really more of an Airbnb +some amenities. If you go in with the expectation of luxury full service hotel, you will be disappointed, but if think of it as an Airbnb it has more to offer than most. Must rent a car. Pros: The staff here is extremely warm and attentive. Good cooperation with taxi and rental cars. Food room service is good and they will bring you delicious drinks throughout the day if you order. We were upgraded to a larger room without asking or expecting! Our room had a nice view and lots of nice place to stargaze. Quick drive to several major beaches! Cons: Rooms are OK, but outdoor facilities need some updating. Amenities are not 24/7 (gym only open until 10:30). We expected this stay to be like a luxury hotel but it’s really more of an Airbnb+ some amenities. This location is not walkable to the beach and you MUST rent a car (its dangerous to walk) if you stay here (but hotel is good at arranging). Parking lot is a little far away from the rooms and there is also a big dog that barks and growls at you as you pass it on the way to the hotel. Close to a water park so there is noise from that. Room service ends a bit early and you can’t charge to your room, must pay each time. Breakfast buffet is just OK. We came a little later in the morning and most options were picked over. They have a gym but very small and outdated. Bed was OK but on a slightly elevated platform on the floor.

We loved our stay in Naxos at the Utopia Suites and Villas! Everything was absolutely wonderful and perfect! We loved our villa with the private plunge pool! It was quiet, private and very spacious. Being able to relax in your own private pool was the highlight of our day! The room was spacious and had lots of great amenities such as robes, slippers, hair dryer, dishes, coffee, bottled water and toiletries. The service was exceptional and someone was always available to assist. Breakfast each morning was wonderful and there were so many wonderful fresh food selections. They do provide pick up transportation at no charge from the port or airport. They will also arrange transportation for you any time you need it. We did not rent a car so it was stress free for them to take care of calling us a taxi. The hotel is only about a 10-15 minute walk from Agios Prokopios beach which has some great restaurants. It is also right next to the bus station and you can easily take the bus for only €2.10. This was a wonderful stay and surpassed my expectations.

We had a large spa suite with a private pool with an upper covered deck, combination shower/sauna, tub, kitchen and living room. The suite was very comfortable. Staff was very helpful. Note that this hotel is 15 minutes outside of Naxos Old Town, so each time we needed to go into town we had to pay 20 Euros for a taxi each way. There was one great restaurant walking distance which allowed us to eat near the hotel for two nights.
