Naya, a Spin-off of a New York City Lebanese Restaurant, Heads to Rittenhouse | Eater Philly

"A fast-casual spin-off of a chic Lebanese restaurant in New York is heading to Rittenhouse at 1601 Market Street (formerly Noon Mediterranean), slated to open at the end of May. Originally called Naya Express before a rebranding, the concept already runs four quick-serve locations plus the original sit-down Naya Mezze & Grill at 1057 Second Avenue, and this Philly spot is its first venture outside New York. The casual mini-chain offers build-your-own white or whole wheat pita sandwiches, rice or freekeh bowls, and salads with choices like beef or chicken shawarma, falafel, roasted cauliflower, hummus, pickles, and garlic whip, plus a selection of wraps (called rolls) made with paper-thin pita. Other menu items include kibbeh—fried dumplings made here with beef or a vegan pumpkin mixture—and man’oushe, the Lebanese flatbread (offered with za’atar or jebneh, a white cheese similar to haloumi and a crowd favorite at Suraya), along with fattoush, labneh, baba ghanoush, grape leaves, and desserts such as baklava or namoura. Naya will be open weekdays from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and closed weekends, positioning it more as a lunch spot or a place to pick up dinner on the way home from work; nearby Cava, which opened in January, offers some menu overlap." - Rachel Vigoda

Google
This was a great place to have a solo dinner. I got a salad bowl with chicken. They give you a good amount of food and the toppings are good. The hummus and babaganoush are both yummy. Clean space and the AC makes it nice and cool!

Google
Went here for a quick snack to split with a friend and WOW it was so good!!! The staff was also so friendly, they were coming down to their last cauliflower and asked if we wanted fresh cauliflower and while we appreciated the thought we knew that cauliflower at the bottom had the most flavor. We were so so grateful and appreciative of the thought, and the cauliflower was STILL crispy. Overall a wonderful experience .

Google
The flavor is on point!! No denying that. But, if you want a better value for your $, then I'd recommend PITA CHIP... ESPECIALLY FOR THE LAMB!! Naya's lamp is a beef & lamb meatball, however Pita Chip you get actual cubes of Lamb. In a wrap, you also can get a variety of hummas and rice. Pita's wraps are bigger (more meat and as much toppings as you'd like. NAYA is great value for Bowls and the are heavy handed with Chicken portions

Google
I visited Philadelphia for a conference and was looking for some local eats near my hotel. I came across this place. The server was friendly and helpful. Aside from the protein, you get unlimited tops. Since I was pretty hungry, I had a massive bowl of food by the time I was finished adding items. The establishment has an interesting and inviting environment as well. Food was pretty tasty and fresh. Definitely recommend!

Food was freshly made , service was fast and attentive

Google
A great spot to grab lunch or early dinner. The employees are very sweet and accommodating. They have two types of greens which is nice and you can have as many toppings as you wish. The proteins were too dry, maybe because we came late.

Google
I had Lamb kebab with rice. The lamb did have any smell nor salty, but it was tender. I enjoyed it. Its interior was nice and simple, and the restroom was clean too. The staffs were kind, however I felt a little bit rushed when I order as a first try even though it wasn't busy time. This is the rason why giving four stars.

David N.

Google
A great choice for a very satisfying meal whether vegetarian or not. The portions are worth the cost and the food is fresh and well prepared. The staff are friendly, respectful to requests, and series is quick. While the seating area isn’t large, I have seen most customers take their food to go. I have enjoyed the food here and plan to return.

Yelp
My Lebanese lunch from NAYA was splendid. I ordered ahead on the app, which was very straight-forward and easy. I placed the order around 11:45 and it was ready when I arrived at 12:00. It's quite organized when you walk in as they have an employee bringing out to-go orders from the back and placing them on a shelf. It's much more convenient than having to wait in line or walk past the line to grab your food. I really liked the setup with that. Also loved the seating area indoors and the option to sit and enjoy your food outside! This is not the restaurant's fault whatsoever, but rather my own dumb fault. I forgot to add a sauce to my bowl. Regardless of this, the bowl ingredients were fresh, filling and flavorful! I absolutely loved my meal and the falafel was crispy and still hot when I got back to my office. Additionally, I ordered the pumpkin kibbe which was tasty. I should've ordered a dip with it as well but it was delicious on its own. The fast service and fresh food warrants a second visit. Thanks, NAYA!

Yelp
Unfortunately!!! The bathroom are not clean! Children's are using this restroom. For such a nice place like NAYA, they should be doing better with that. The sink hasn't been clean in a long time. The last time this bathroom was clean was in 05/22/25 So sad because this place serves good food. It's so easy to keep a Bethroom clean. Manager needs to do better with this

Yelp
Love this new spot in center city! So much bang for your buck! I made a pita with hummus, tzatziki , tahini , GREAT STEAK, lettuce, and vegetables and it was so delicious and tasted fresh! Will definitely go back for a quick dinner :)

Yelp
Nice place , friendly staff . Food was fresh . The choices are good , they also have some sweets to go

Yelp
Naya is a great spot for lunch. Even though the line is often out the door during lunchtime on a weekday, it moves quickly. I like the options and often get either a bowl or a pita with falafel (always appreciate delicious vegetarian options) as well as a bunch of veggies and sauces. The portions are also large, so I never finish and get to eat the other half for lunch the next day. There are some seats inside so you could eat there or it is a great option to go as well.
google avatar

Yelp
For a fast-cas spot, I really enjoy Naya for a bit of variety around center city. Service is quick, food is always fresh, and it makes a good, light meal. The portion size feels smaller than other options, but I really like the seasoning they use for their vegetables and falafel. Staff are fun and always make sure my order is correctly fulfilled. Bowls feel wide and very shallow, but they distribute the ingredients so you get a good variety in each bite. Stop by for something different. Their website offers a helpful breakdown of the ingredient lists and allergens too. I had some guests in town with very specific dietary restrictions and they were able to research the menu and inform staff when we ordered so they could eat with peace of mind.
google avatar

Je'Nai L.

Yelp
Great and fresh food. They did mess up my order by giving me rice instead of quinoa. Couldn't eat the rice, but everything else was delicious!
google avatar

Chris L.

Yelp
Ordered on DoorDash. Food was tasty and filling. I got dessert which was also tasty but be prepared they are small and come in a wrapper. Lots of options you can have with the bowls and pita on the side (also wrapped).

Yelp
Naya aka Naya Bowls is a Middle Eastern restaurant that offers fresh and delicious food at reasonable prices and average portions. The menu, located at https://www.eatnaya.com offers a superb breakdown of all of the food selections they offer with comprehensive information listed with all the dietary restrictions that websites including Yelp, Google Maps, Grubhub, Doordash, Uber Eats (the worst delivery platform in the US), Trip Advisor, and other websites. The restaurant offers delivery, as well as catering, though I can't imagine ordering catering when the presentation of the dishes ordered don't entice me to think they're capable of the standard for catering, as someone who was in the catering industry for over seven years. The order consisted of 2 NAYA Bowls, each with ruby wild tice, chicken shawarma, hummus, baba ghannouj, cucumber and yogurt, lemon tahini, spicy red sauce, green and red cabbage. Each Naya Bowl comes with the choice of a pita. Additionally, I ordered a side container of baca ghannouj, which comes in a 1/2 lb container, but about 2/3 full weighing 6oz. Everything was fresh, a gear combination of flavors, and highly recommendable. Advice- whoever fulfills orders, find a better way to package the bowls so all ingredients aren't mixed together

Yelp
This place is tricky to find as you must walk around the building to a business alleyway in the middle of 16th st. A person on the side directed me to enter the building, take the elevator to the top floor, then walk to the other side of the building. I almost did that but then he said he was kidding. Kinda wish I had told the guy to look me up. The staff at this place is friendly. Healthy food and makes me feel good. Atmosphere fits in with this office section of the city. Had a TooGoodToGo order here and I love the variety of items offered.

Yelp
Super quick and convenient place with high-quality ingredients (grass-fed steak? Sign me up!) and many options for toppings. I got the beef atop rice with romaine, all the non-dairy toppings (pickled beets were my fave) and extra protein of roasted cauliflower for +$3.70. Only downside is the serving serve of protein/toppings is pretty small (they load up on the carb/salad on the bottom) so I was still not full after eating. I thoroughly appreciate having more fast-casual places to go for a late lunch in center city (I go after 2 to avoid lines) but I prefer Cava down the street over this place because they have a wider variety of flavorful ingredients/toppings/sauces (only one type of lemon-hummus here)
google avatar

Spencer W.

Yelp
Lebanese chipotle/cava style Extremely tasty, and affordable. The only con is the portion size is small - especially if you don't get all the options the bowl is like half empty.
google avatar

Alexandra K.

Yelp
This is really a 4.5 star review, but giving them all 5 because my one critique is more a personal peculiarity. I preordered lunch with a friend from here who swears by Naya's vegetarian bowls. I got a vegetarian roll, and went very Mediterranean in my toppings - just tomato, cucumber, feta, olives and lemon tahini. My friend devoured her bowl, making clear that she meant it when she said this is one of her favorite downtown Philadelphia lunch spots, and I enjoyed my roll too. The cauliflower was excellent, so well seasoned and cooked, and the vegetables were fresh and tasty. I just wished there could have been more tomatoes - it felt like the whole wheat pita really dominated. And it was good pita, I just feel like while the ratios of all the other fillings worked, a little more tomato would have really made it perfect for me. Next time I do Naya I'll make sure to specify that as my optional comment in the order. Also, as a portion it was just right for me - filling enough to power me through several hours of walking around the city, but not so much that I COULDN'T walk.

Yelp
Quality/quantity is great for the price. A very good quick casual restaurant in the office-area of Philly.
google avatar

Uzair A.

Yelp
As the description indicates, Naya is a Chipotle-style cointer-serve spot in the Mediterranean/Middle Eastern style. Central location with decent amount of seating. The chicken shawarma was the only halal meat option, so I got that on a white pita roll, with hummus, olives, lettuce and cucumbers as toppings. The roll was quite filling and reasonably tasty; my only criticism is that they didn't warm it properly, so it was all cold. The protein quantity is moderate, but they do have the option of adding extra protein if you want. I got a couple of falafel too on the side, which were nice, though a bit dry. On the whole, a decent option if you're in the area looking for something quick on a weekday.
google avatar

Hannah G.

Yelp
Ordered from DoorDash for the first time. I can't speak to the service if you go in store but average time for delivery. I got lunch here and ordered the rice bowl. I got the lamb meatballs with garlic sauce and green sauce. Overall it was tasty. The meatballs were a bit dry but had good flavor. There was a lot of food so it felt like a good value. I would order from here again to try some other options.

Yelp
My favorite place to grab lunch when I'm in the office. Naya never ever ever disappoints and everything on their menu is so good and flavorful. Very generous with the protein and toppings! Today I ordered the chicken shawarma salad and added ALL toppings. It receives a 10/10. Came with free pita bread and since the pandemic it seems like the recipe changed? The bread is smaller, thicker, drier and not as good as it once was. Soaking it in all the salad sauce brought it back to life. I love this place and it will forever be my favorite go to spot for lunch when I'm in the office. If you create an account, they will give you $5 off meaning you pay $5-6 for an incredible lunch. The baklava they sell is also incredible! Highly recommend!

Yelp
My cousin and I were looking for a place to eat after a day of fun at Monk's Cafe and Victory Brewpub. We had seen these spot earlier in the day when walking around and decided to head there for dinner. I had a really delicious falafel and chicken shawarma pita wrap with the works. So good and perfect for a meal. Not fancy but hit the spot. I'd certainly go back if ever in that part of town again.
google avatar

Leia R.

Yelp
Terrible service. I didn't even get to try the food. I waited in line for 15 minutes with only two people in front of me. The workers saw me and didn't even say they'd be right with me, they just started making other orders right in front of me. I finally walked out. Disappointing.
google avatar

Nicole W.

Yelp
Nahhh ya need to check this place out! This place is right by city hall and is definitely a good place for lunch. I got a great your own bowl and it was so so good. The falafel was some of the best if had and decent naan as well. Definitely comparable to some of the other mix and match Mediterranean places. They also gave you a decent amount of food for the price. I ordered online and their pickup was seamless. Overall, it was really nice and I would definitely go back.
google avatar

Olga K.

Yelp
Taste is great and fresh!! That's one. Secondly, I like menu options, simple, cut to the chase listings. Has vegetarian/vegan options. For the add-ons you can get them all! Not limited to just 3 ingredients like in most places. I appreciate right size of portions--not too little but not too much. Really nice healthy spot.

Yelp
I'll start by saying the food here is good quality and flavorful. I had such high hopes for NAYA and really wanted to rate higher but I really couldn't based on my experience and first impression. I tried ordering through the app and I found it rather challenging once I got to the part where you input your payment method. The app wouldn't accept my card information and I tried a number of different cards. All of which were active and contained funds. To be fair, I didn't take off stars for this, I just figured I'd give them a pass, as technology is glitchy sometimes and you have to allow room for that. I ended up going in person to place my order and here's where I start deducting stars. The staff person who took my order did not know English, like at all. Not to be rude or funny but I was articulate about the items I wanted in my bowl which were on the menu and the staff person did not understand "Wild Rice". A different staff person came over to help and tried to but I don't believe they understood the difference between the Wild Rice and the Vermicelli Rice. They even rolled their eyes at me like I didn't know what I was talking about when I tried to tell them they were scooping the wrong rice. I asked them to double check with a third staff person who agreed with me. I wanted to shout THANK YOU! This confirmed that I wasn't going crazy! I continued to place my order and noticed that I didn't see any tabbouleh although they have it on photos within the dining area. I asked the staff person about it and was informed that they only sell the tabbouleh for catering orders. They also mentioned it takes a long time to make. I though that was strange. There's similar Mediterranean take out restaurants who sell tabbouleh not just for catering but as a bowel or wrap option. So that was disheartening to hear and didn't make a lot of sense to me. The choice of topping options falls short to me. Aside from the sauces and dips, I wish there were more topping options besides pickled cucumbers, pickled turnips, tomatoes, jalepenos, olives and lettuce. The menu says "chopped lettuce" however the lettuce was long thick leaves of romaine and weren't chopped at all. I don't know if it's normally chopped and perhaps they were rushing this day but it wasn't chopped at all. The Labne dip is sort of like a cream cheese dip but my palate was overwhelmed by the lemon flavor. Lastly, for the amount NAYA charges per bowl even with extra ingredients added, I should NOT be able to see the bottom of my bowel or have a bunch of space as if they didn't fill it up all the way. The portions were skimpy. Photos attached. The food is good but not that good for me to return. I can think of similar places that give me more variety toppings and fill the bowel all the way up.
google avatar

David C.

Yelp
Middle Eastern/Lebanese food with a Chipotle concept. Lots of fresh, flavorful options to choose from. I've ordered both delivery and in person and both times had a pleasant experience. Although I received an incorrect item when I ordered delivery through uber eats. The store front is located in the financial district and is very modern and clean. Great fast casual spot to add onto the rotation list to frequent.

John J.

Yelp
Love love love Naya, but wondering where the gluten free mixed rice option went? It was my go-to and was delicious. Hopefully they bring it back.
google avatar

Melissa A.

Yelp
Found this place through a deal on Grubhub. Chicken shawarma bowl is great! Very fresh ingredients and a very nice portion size. would definitely recommend for a relatively healthier meal!
google avatar

Retna S.

Yelp
This review is for the order placed for delivery. The hummus is smooth and creamy, baba ganoush has perfect smoky flavor. Chicken schawarma with grains has perfect flavor and seasoning. Tabouleh doesn't have much bulgur. Baklava is a perfect dessert to end the meal. Nice flaky layers of phyllo.
google avatar

Lauren K.

Yelp
I've been to the NY location and this is my first time at the Philly one. If you know CAVA, it's a similar concept but I think it's better because it's not as overwhelming in food quantity and choice, but NAYA has better quality in my opinion. I got the bowl with freeka and the cauliflower as my protein. Highly recommend this combo - too good. I think they have better flavors than most Mediterranean fast food places I've gone to and I absolutely love the garlic whip and the baba ghannouj. My favorite thing is just eating the garlic whip with the pita they give. Absolutely bomb. I got the cucumber, diced tomatoes, pickled turnips, onion and tahini sauce. So amazing and good. The plus is always the warm soft and fresh pita to top it off. Great place and great location right by city hall :)
google avatar

Honouray C.

Yelp
This place is fire!! Excellent prompt service and all the food is fresh! I came here three times - I got a lamb white pita and a chicken white pita sandwich. All the fixings taste very fresh! Hits the spot! You should come here!
google avatar

Amanda M.

Yelp
I love this place for cheap and fast-casual to pick up on my way home from the train. Order extra of the garlic sauce (toum, but they call it garlic sauce. Who cares, it is amazing). I sometimes order extra just to use as a condiment in my normal home cooking. This is not fine dining! But for the price of chipotle, this is, in my opinion, a much better option.
google avatar

Alyse H.

Yelp
This is a Chipotle style Mediterranean bowl shop that will fill you up without making you feel guilty. It's healthy and delicious. I'd eat here everyday for lunch if I lived nearby. They have multiple topping, sauce, and protein options. Everything is fresh and delicious.
google avatar

David L.

Yelp
I was craving some middle eastern food for lunch and wanted to skip the usual Cava or Honeygrow so I decided to give Naya a try. I'm so glad that I did. My order was about $30 (including all fees but tip) and it was a LOT of food for $30. The delivery fees kill you with UberEats but the food seemed very reasonably priced. I ordered a Naya Salad with EXTRA Chicken Shwarma - you could barely call it salad. The extra protein made it more of a chicken bowl. It was very good and a great mix of ingredients. I also got one Kibbe (deep fried beef ball) that was tiny but delicious. I opted for a side of Cucumber Yogurt dip and some house-made Baked Zaatar Pita Chips (that were very fresh despite their professional packaging). As I said, the meal was delicious and travelled really well. The packaging was great and generally I was blown away by this place that I had never even heard of before. If you live in Center City (or elsewhere - I live in Fairmount), definitely give this place a try. It was a nice change of place and the perfect delivery lunch bowl.
google avatar

Tarana J.

Yelp
I ordered DoorDash delivery and the food came very quickly. I ordered a Naya Bowl with rice, chicken shawarma, falafel, and other toppings. It was very good for such fast service. I also got baklava for dessert and it was really tasty too. Everything tasted fresh. The food portions are good value for the price.
google avatar

Emily F.

Yelp
Fast easy and delicious lunch! The sharwarma beef bowl and the baba ghanoush were yummy
google avatar

Taylor M.

Yelp
One of my rotation spots for a work lunch in center city. Large portions and unlimited toppings. Would recommend ordering ahead as the lines can get long during peak times. The pita side is so soft and fluffy as well too. Recommend the spicy green sauce if you like a little heat.
google avatar

Christina D.

Yelp
Perfect spot for a my lunch break. Ever since I discovered Naya I've been coming twice a week! Convenient, fresh, and delicious! I recommend :)

Samuel K.

Yelp
Absolutely fantastic food. Good value because the bowls are big and packed with good stuff. Great service too, they let me order food 10 minutes before closing and dine in while they were tidying up for the day.
google avatar

Rebecca H.

Yelp
Ordered from here again because despite them fucking up our order a few days prior, I was DESPERATE for a place that had hummus AND fries however ultimately decided against order fries for thighs and waist reasons. We ordered this yogurt dip they have as well as regular AND spicy hummus because the dips are SO CHEAP HERE! All of them were pretty good. The regular hummus is kinda boring tbh but the spicy hummus has little pieces of FRESH jalapeno in it. It's actually not spicy at all but that adds something delicious to the spread. DEFINITELY order the spicy one, trust me on this. The yogurt was also really creamy, delicious, and smooth. I'd recommend this as well. Anyways cool bye
google avatar

Daina M.

Yelp
Love this place! It's like the Mediterranean version of chipotle. The staff are so friendly and the food was so good! The chicken in my bowl was perfectly cooked and the toppings were all delicious. I loved my bowl and would definitely order from here again!
google avatar

Sharma J.

Yelp
Delicious and fresh Mediterranean food. I tried chicken shawarma naya bowl, the protein and rice was nice and warm, the salads we're fresh and crunch, the humus and tahini was delicious and to my surprise it came with a side of a small, soft and warm pita bread. Perfect lunch after wandering around Philly center city!

Lisa L.

Yelp
My food was mediocre at best, I envy all the 5-star reviews for the amazing food experience. The chicken I got was so dry and just overall not very tasty. I wanted to like this place but I will venture out to other similar places in the area.
google avatar

Komal K.

Yelp
New place that has opened near city hall to cater for center city business district. I had a lot of expectations given it's global presence. Ordered lunch here through Grubhub for pickup. Food was ready by the time I reached. I ordered a falafel bowl with hummus and vegetables. It was good but nothing to write home about. There are plenty of middle eastern quick bite places in center city now so this place has a lot of competition and doesn't stand up to it. I would rate Naf Naf Grill better than Naya. Try it if you're in the neighborhood and want a quick bite. Not work it to travel to specially come here for food.
google avatar

David T.

Yelp
Naya is a create spot for lunch or a quick bit. It's also healthy! It's similar to an assembly type food experience where you choose your carb base like rice. Then choose your choice of protein and veggies. I personally enjoyed the Naya bowl with chicken along with all of the different veggies. The service was fairly quick and helpful when I had questions of what the items were. The atmosphere was really open and easy to understand the menu and options. The price was around $10 for a bowl and a bit cheaper for the burrito/wrap option. I plan to come again!
google avatar

Rikin S.

Yelp
This gem is perfect for healthy on the go or even a quick retreat within the city! The food is healthy, fresh, and eventful. Concept is similar to a chipotle where you pick and assemble, but these guys do it better than other variations. The portion is generous so you're not leaving this place hungry! It's also well packed so it's easy to take on the go. The inside is fresh with plants and a enviromental sustainable theme. Everything about this place made me feel good about eating here. Even the employees are courteous and on rope of their game.
google avatar

Laura R.

Yelp
I just ate at Naya for the first time today, and I was blown away. The quality of the food cannot be beat. It seemed really fresh, it tasted great, and the beef is grass fed! The line moves pretty quick, and the staff provides good customer service. The restaurant is spacious, and seems to have a lot of seating (especially in the summer, when there is still outdoor seating). It is a little expensive for lunch, but the amount of food (and the deliciousness) is worth it. Another plus is that you can add as many toppings as you want at no extra cost. Definitely a place that I will return to for lunch!
google avatar

Holly R.

Yelp
The BEST lunch. So much food for a reasonable price. It's flavorful and delicious. I order ahead on the website and pick it up from their shelves. I can usually get two meals out of a bowl.
google avatar

Amy Z.

Yelp
Got lunch with a coworker and was happy to find that there was no line for NAYA. We both ordered grains/greens bowls -- I got cauliflower and chicken shawarma, and she got falafel and lamb kafta. Everything was delicious and the portions are very generous. I also loved the warm, pillowy pita bread that came with the bowl -- super great for dipping into the baba ganoush topping!
google avatar

Gianfranco A.

Yelp
Amazing food!! Beautiful place, clean and the good taste was amazing! Super fresh! Only thing I would change is the costumer service! Was very poor! We ordered a shawarma bowl and pita shawarma, both were incredible! The falafel and chicken were delicious!! 5 stars!
google avatar

Sydney L.

Yelp
New lunch spot alert! Naya has opened quite conveniently near many office buildings in center city! It's similar to Cava if you've been there- fast casual, build your own bowl of Mediterranean goodness. You pick a base (greens or rice), a protein (options for vegetarians and meat eaters alike) and then toppings (diced tomatoes, pickled radishes, red onion, hummus, babaganoush, garlic whip, the list goes on). They also have other items like sandwiches if you don't want to build a bowl. I wandered by Naya on their grand opening and they were promoting with $3 bowls! The line was long but worth waiting for. I had a bowl with a mixed green base and roasted cauliflower. It was seasoned with turmeric, and was really delicious. I also really enjoyed the toppings I added, specifically the pickled vegetables. Next time, I would definitely opt to try the falafel! Only complaint is that they did not have whole wheat pita! While they do have some seating, this place seems like it will draw a big takeout lunch crowd, so you may want to leave some time to wait in line during your lunch break! Also, they do have some premade items you can grab to go!

Yelp
If you just like good food, this is a great place for lunch. I was so impressed by the first time I ate, I went back again two days later to try something else. I forgot to take pictures, but the wrap and the bowel are delicious. If I had one complaint it would be not enough garlic whip, because I can put that on anything. But good news is you can order extra which makes me happy. I also ordered the side dish with cheese inside (both)...next time I am ordering more then one. It was like a tease. This might be my go to spot, especially since I can order online and just pick it up without a hassle.
