The Best Restaurants in Fulham and Putney | Eater London

"It’s something of a relief to visit somewhere as profoundly unpretentious as Nayaab, which has the décor and ambience of many of London’s time-honoured curry houses. There’s nothing old-fashioned about the predominantly organic food, though, especially the excellent slow-cooked lamb shank and very fine monkfish methi." - Alexander Larman

Fantastic Indian Cuisine at Navaab – A Must-Visit! I recently visited Navaab at Navada in Medwood Mall, and it was an absolute delight! I ordered their Veg Thali, Veg Pakoda, and Gulab Jamun, and everything was simply perfect. The naan was incredibly soft, the saffron rice paired beautifully with dal and chana, and the flavors were authentic and well-balanced. What impressed me the most was not just the delicious food but also the budget-friendly prices and the warm hospitality of the owner. He was very polite and friendly, making the experience even more enjoyable. If you’re craving authentic Indian food with great taste and affordability, Navaab is the place to be! Highly recommended!

It is my go to place when it comes to some diverse Indian food. Their biryani and recently added chicken lollipops in the menu made a greater mark to our food order. Highly recommended to taste their any items in menu. Great place to order or eat from.

Google
This the the absolute best Indian Indian food Ive had in Reno. The location is so clean and well taken care of. The food is absolutely delicious. There is a lot of variety and choices. There is a 12.99 combo that I found very economical. It includes naan, rice a hefty Samosa and your choice of a dish. Everything tastes so fresh. You can taste all the spices. Everything is made with love. I will be here again and again and again. Cant wait to try new dishes!

Had a party for 7 people so I decided to go with the following items: -**SPECIAL Nayaab item Tabak Maaz (slow cooked lamb ribs) 2 plates. They come in 8 pieces per plate with a generous serving of Kashmiri rice. The rice was good but the ribs were DISGUSTING! Please see attached picture. This item needs to be ordered 48 hours in advance, which I did hence, the amplified disappointment. The ribs had more fat on them than actual meat. I would assume when a good kitchen gets meat with fat, it would cut most of it off before marinating and cooking. This was embarrassing to serve to my guests. Price point for this was ok for the portion size but terrible ribs in quality and bland taste! Not what I would expect for ordering 48 hrs in advance. PLEASE get this off your menu if you continue to make it like this! -Tandoori Chicken whole: 1 plate comes with 7 pieces. This was a good dish as it was not the generic red colored style of Tandoori that you would see in majority Indian restaurants. I would order this again. Loved the green chutney that comes with it. - Lamb seekh Kabab: 1 plate comes with 6 pieces, i was expecting 8 pieces since it was mentioned to me when I ordered that 1 plate would be sufficient for 7 people. The taste was good and I would order this again. Green chutney with this again was great -Fish Pakora: 1 plate comes with 8 pieces. This was very good and I will order this again for sure! Very good appetizer option! - Malai Kofta (veg): 2 plates came with 8 koftas in a tomato base gravy. This was tasty and went well with the Kashmiri Rice or Naans - Butter Naan: very good and would order again. - Tandoori Roti: very good and would order again Overall: I would order food from here again, just will stick to the basics with Nayaab.

Overall: B- Layout & decor: ⭐️⭐️ Food quality: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Cleanliness: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Customer service: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Timeliness: ⭐️⭐️ Review: The food was really good, but they seem much more geared for takeout & not getting a meal there. I realize they’re located in a food court. Took just over 24 minutes to get our food & it was just 2 of us. The naan was great tho. Seems like they’re a new establishment & getting their feet under them. They only have cocktail napkins, they need to fix the at. Get real napkins. Hope these guys get their turnaround time figured out because this is great food but people aren’t going to wait almost half an hour in a food court for a meal. They seem to have some things prepared in advance but obviously not our entrees which we chose. I wish them the best, I do, but gottta get those dishes out quicker.

Google
I'm not sure how this place has such rave reviews. I finally tasted the cuisine after months of reading about it and was seriously disappointed. I had the gold combo, with the butter chicken and the tikka chicken masala. The butter chicken was okay, with an average flavor but a little too sweet to be authentic, and the chicken chunks were atrociously huge, bone-dry white meat. The chicken tikka masala was even worse; the sauce contained bell peppers and onions, which is not typical of tikka masala, but rather of kadhai chicken. The chicken was similarly dry, and the sauce was even 'sweeter' than bottled spaghetti sauce. To top it off, the portions were minimal for the price this establishment charges. The two small miniscule entree portions (in relation to what is charged for it - nearly $20) come with no drink, appetizer, or anything else, except some dry flavorless rice (saffron indeed!) and two small, burnt triangles of naan, not even one whole naan cut into four, as is the norm at any Indian buffet take-out, and moreover, they were extremely chewy and rubbery. Overall, an atrocious dining experience! Maybe the food has recently gone down due to declining business or an inferior batch? But, frankly, I don't think that's an excuse either. Easily one of the worst Indian food I've ever had!

Google
This is one of the best restaurants I have been to. They serve most regional Jaammu & Kashmir cuisine. Food is super delicious and very authentic. I wish they open other branch in Bay area soon.

Google
I always love good food and man did this place hit the spot. The workers were amazing and so cheerful and the food beats many of the fancy Indian restaurants out here. The price makes this place a steal already, big portions for only 12 bucks! The Nevada Naan is a must have!!! Go try it!

Yelp
Who eats Indian food at a Mall Food Court in Reno, NV? I am, and so should you. I consider myself to be a bit adventurous for my own standards. I've been catching up on old episodes of Anthony Bourdain (sure do miss that guy.) As I was walking through the brightly lit with abundant skylights, I see a "new" vendor/restaurant... NAYAAB. Go big or go home... so I take a $17 gamble and order the Platinum Combo with Chicken Tiki Masala, Butter Chicken and... Goat Cury. WHAT?! Very glad I did. I've never eaten . Yay me for trying. Super friendly MBTC (Man Behind the Counter) explained they are not a franchise, nor do they have a food truck. Next month they celebrate a year. Get in here and help them celebrate.

Yelp
First time trying Indian food & I fell in love. The staff were very informative and helpful. We almost bought it without naan and rice, which is essential. The chicken tikka masala was perfection. My new comfort food, it leaves you feeling clean and happy. Butter chicken is very rich and savory as well. Right amount of spice on both. Tried for a second time and just as good. I'd recommend ordering ahead since the wait time is a little longer.

Yelp
This is for the food truck at Food Truck Friday. Was thrilled to see Indian food at FTF. Got butter chicken as my taste test. A nice size serving for the price was a good start. For my taste the sauce was a bit bland. Not an indictment but I would have preferred salt and peppers. Many folks don't like the heat so they'll be happy. The team was friendly and quick with my order. Very proud of their food as they should be. For me today was a way to find out about Nayaab and plan for a visit to the mall location.

Yelp
I love that Meadowood Mall has an Indian food option in the food court. The food is main on order so it can take 10-15 minutes to get your food but it comes piping hot. The naan is delicious and I like how they make it out front. I got the chicken biryani and it was good with decent spice level, but could also use a little more flavor and spice. The portion of food you get is huge compared to the rest of the food court for the price is awesome! Overall, this is a great stop when you're done with shopping.

Yelp
We dropped by Nayaab again last weekend to get dinner. As we approached the counter, there was a customer ahead of us sampling the sauces of the dishes Nayaab was offering that day (I didn't know you could do that); the gentleman behind the counter patiently tended to the woman's request until it was finally our turn. I ordered the gold combo: lamb rogan josh and chicken tikka masala with rice, my sister got a happy meal with the lamb rogan josh and rice, plus we ordered a couple of samosas for my niece. The food was flavorful; the meat was fall-off-the bone tender (pro-tip: watch out for bits of bone in the lamb). The chicken tikka masala was surprisingly more spicy than the lamb but both were equally good. The service was prompt and courteous, and the price was reasonable; overall, we had a positive visit.

Yelp
I was really excited to find out about a new Indian spot at Meadowood Mall, but my satisfaction fell short. I really wanted to like this place but it was just ok for me. I asked for butter chicken and I'm not sure what the other entree was but it tasted pretty good. It was another chicken dish. I feel like though I was skimped out on the butter chicken. I also felt like it was lacking some flavor for me. The rice was ok. The samosa was good with all the toppings on it. I will say though that their naan was probably the best I've had. Very fluffy and the garlic naan was so good. I tried to dip it in the butter chicken sauce but I barely had enough. I also wish they had labels on what entrees they had showing. It would've given me a better idea of what I can try as I want to expand my palette on Indian dishes. I'd probably go back, but just for their garlic naan.
google avatar

Kevin S.

Yelp
This place rocks! Easily a top 3 benchmark. Staff 10/10 The rice is 10/10 Naan is 9/10 Every single chicken, lamb or vegetarian option, hot to mild is incredibe! The samosas with the mint sauce - chef's kiss! If tou would have told me I could get five star India, Pakistan, Afghanistan food at the mall food court, I would have sent you to Concentra for a random test. But this place breaks the food court mold with bold and amazing flavors, from wild to mild!
google avatar

Elizabeth D.

Yelp
Definitely a must try and don't be deterred by the mall food court location! The kiddos loved the butter chicken and rice. 10 out of 10! The Chana masala was spicy and provided a nice contrast to the creamy butter chicken. With tip, it comes out to $20 for fluffy naan, rice, and your choice of two dishes.

Yelp
8/202024- Popped in with my vegan son. I'm so happy to be able to showcase a great Indian restaurant in the mall. Service and choices of entrees were plenty. Thank you! Som got the potatoes and rice!

Yelp
This place is amazing. I've eaten here a couple of times and it's definitely some of the best Indian food I've had in Reno. The meats are tender and everything is super flavorful. Everyone who has served me here has been very nice and helped me figure out what I wanted. I'm not super familiar with all the different dishes in Indian cuisine. But everything I had was amazing. The first trip I got the basic combo with butter chicken. The rice was cooked perfect, the samosa and the naan were hot and fresh. The next trip I got the three meat combo. It came with chicken tikka masala, a chicken meatball dish and I believe the last was a spicy shredded beef dish. The three meat combo also comes with the dessert of the day which was a rice pudding that was a nice cooldown after the food. Only suggestion I have is to maybe make signs for the individual dishes as they change it up daily I believe and it'll help the people not overly familiar with Indian cuisine. Other than that it's a clean spot with friendly staff. It's a welcome addition to have some great food in the food court.

Yelp
Nayaab - meaning happiness - perfectly describes this restaurant at the mall. You will really feel the happiness eating their food. If you're looking for quick Indian food, this is the place to go. The Tikka Masala and Butter Chicken are both excellent, especially when paired with their saffron rice and freshly made naan. The service is fast, which is a big plus. The place itself is okay since it's inside the food court--it can be a bit noisy, but that's expected, and it's still worth it. I got the Gold Plate with all these, and it was absolutely delicious!
google avatar

Saurra T.

Yelp
Little gem in the Meadowwood Mall. The owner is extremely friendly & helpful. He explained different dishes to me that I hadn't heard of before. The area is very clean. We got the silver combo with butter chicken (it came with saffron rice, a samosa & nevada naan). It was delicious! It smelled so good & tasted so good, I forgot to take pictures! The owner let my daughters try some different things which was really nice. He made sure we enjoyed everything. We will definitely be back! Don't let the mall court food rap deter you, try this place, it doesn't disappoint!
google avatar

Yelp
An EXPLOSION of FLAVOR! I cannot believe how good this is!! Absolutely the best tasting Indian I've had in Reno. I'm so sorry I almost thought of not trying it because it was in the mall's food court. Do not make my (almost) mistake! The owner is extremely nice and sources the meat from local farms. They have a naan oven where they pat it on the clay surface. You must try the garlic naan!
google avatar

Geric A.

Yelp
Yummy Indian cuisine for a great price. Perfect naan garlic bread, love the dishes too!

Robert M.

Yelp
Amazing food. Friendly staff. Great service. All the food was freshly made. I like supporting locally owned businesses. This will be a regular treat for me. Can recommend.
google avatar

Gena M.

Yelp
The food was good. More gravy or sauce then actual meat or chickpeas. The service is great very friendly. Clean and simple set up at the mall food court. The Naan bread was good, the pickled onions were very good. Hit the spot as I was hungry and didn't want the typical mall food court items.
google avatar

Mary Jane S.

Yelp
Craving Indian food and want the convenience of fast service and delicious food, try Nayaab at the food court at Meadowood mall. Service was quick, pricing reasonable and the food is surprisingly delicious. I got the gold combo which included choice of two dishes - I got a chickpea vegetarian dish and butter chicken. The plate includes butter naan and rice. I ordered a side of kheer for dessert, which was so good too. Everything tasted freshly cooked and perfectly seasoned. Good meal option if you are at the mall.
google avatar

David O O.

Yelp
Great place for Indian food. We got the Gold Combo. I got the lamb and goat meat with the saffron rice and potatoes. Delicious! The owner served us and was very appreciative. The meat was so tender and went great with the rice and Nevada Butter Naan breadslso served was a carrot mix that was very tasty. Come try it here in the Food Court at Meadowood Mall.

Yelp
We visited newly opened Nayaab last night, and here's the shocker...the best Indian food in Reno is currently being served out of the Meadowood Mall food court. We sampled just about everything on the menu, from crispy pillows of samosa chaat to creamy chicken tikka masala, from succulent goat to cooked-to-order tandoori chicken, and without a doubt if you love Indian cuisine as much as I do, you need to check this place out. The owner is as friendly and personable as you can imagine, and he led us on a culinary journey that belies the fact that we were sitting within reach of Westzel's Pretzel and Sbarro Pizza. Honestly, several of the dishes including the aforementioned chicken tikka and samosa were the best examples of these dishes I've ever had. The mango lassi, for example, had a slightly fermented quality like kefir - a testimony to its homemade origin - and boosted this drink to an entirely new level. The nan was pulled fresh from the tandoori oven and was emblematic of our entire experience - that everything is homemade from the freshest ingredients with expert loving care. Nayaab is absolute treat, the owner a gem and I am so happy that they decided to call Meadowood Mall home. I can't wait to go back!
google avatar

Tara J.

Yelp
I ordered this from DoorDash and so good!!! The samosas were amazing, the butter chicken was phenomenal. I'll be ordering here regularly.
google avatar

Ashley G.

Yelp
Don't be deceived by appearances! This amazing new restaurant is located in the meadowwood mall but it's some of the best Indian food you can get in Reno! The owners set up shop in the mall to get some restaurant experience and plan to expand to a brick and mortar soon. The butter chicken and other staples are off the charts good but they also have some really unique dishes that you cannot get anywhere else. Don't snooze on Nayaab!
google avatar

Nic N.

Yelp
Talked with the owner for a bit, and am looking forward to try more options from here! We tasted the butter chicken which was great and ordered the simosa. The simosa was quite good, the sauce for the simosa was what really made it.
google avatar

Brian R.

Yelp
Outstanding. Most Indian food in Reno is mediocre at best, but Nayaab has got exactly what I was looking for. Everything I tried was 'above average' at a minimum, and the samosas are downright killer. I'd eat them by the dozen. I'm not sure if that's healthy. I'm not sure that I care. Lol. Seriously. I'm a picky eater. This is great, we'll definitely be back soon.
google avatar

Christina K.

Yelp
Indian Food at the Food Court?! YES PLEASE! This place is in a sleeper location but is so fire and the employees are always super friendly. I've eaten here since they opened last year and have tried most of their dishes. The Goat Curry is my favorite by far, and the mango lassi is always a guaranteed yum. I am happy to report that the Goat Curry has gone boneless (hell yeah!) I work close by so popping over for lunch is fast and convenient. I LOVE THIS PLACE. Go try if you haven't
google avatar

Ashwini P.

Yelp
Best way to start the morning! Fresh aloo paratha with chai! Thank you Nayaab for this after thanksgiving special! Wah! Sawaad! Mouth is watering! So good! *chefs kiss*
google avatar

Susan L.

Yelp
Honestly, I did not have high expectations. It's mall food. The food was so good! It reminded me of the home cooked meals I would eat at the home of a dear friend on mine. My husband and I shared a Gold Combo with Goat Rogan Josh and Chicken Tikka Masala. The goat was delicious. It took me back to sitting around the table with my friend and his family, sharing a delicious meal and great conversation. The naan was hot and buttery, the masala flavorful. I definitely did not expect what I got. The food was really good. I will definitely eat here again.
google avatar

Tele R.

Yelp
Good quality for a quick meal. Mild heat, but that allowed the subtle flavors of the spices to come through. I did mix in some of the green, spicy sauce to add some heat. Prepared items for the combination plates are made mild, but you can choose your heat on the menu items. The Tamarind Sauce had a nice flavor. The butter naan that comes with the combination plates, was fresh and delicious. Garlic Naan can be ordered.

Ana S.

Yelp
I had the butter chicken with rice. It was hot and filling. Perfect comfort food!! The service was very friendly and patient. I cannot recommend this place enough. A beautiful gem in the mall food court.

Tim F.

Yelp
Delicious! Honestly some of the best Indian food I've had and it's in a mall food court. The lamb and chicken were super tasty and tender. Spicy but not too spicy. Naan was good and chewy, perfect for mopping up the sauce.
google avatar

Tim L.

Yelp
Come find these guys! Hidden gems are all over the place. In gas stations, food trucks, pop ups. Do you go to the food court at the Mall for good food? Why not? So this place has been open maybe 6 weeks or more. It's a great place to have some great Indian food but at a very reasonable price. I mean, you can get outta here for about as much as a Big Mac Combo these days but you'll be much more satisfied with your product. Dishes available in their combos vary. With silver and gold combos, you get a samosa in addition to rice and naan. If you really feel hungry, get a platinum combo with 3 entrees and dessert. Plenty of dishes for both carnivores and vegetarians or you can mix like I did. Food was tasty and or course a little spicy. With dishes served buffet style no varying spice levels. I'd say just a reasonable level of heat. BTW, naan is made fresh on premises in their tandoori oven. Also excellent. I know I'll be back here. I frequently crave Indian food but I don't always want to order in a sit down restaurant and pay $30 per person for it. But $15-20 in a food court and the food is great? Yes. One more thing.....This place is not Sbarro. It's locally owned. Come see these guys.

Pardeep s.

Yelp
Every time we order food, it's beyond expectation. Authentic, fresh and delicious. Super friendly service and clean. My most favorite restaurant in Reno by far.Amazing tender Tandoori chicken tikka with a great green sauce and onions, yum! The best ever cholle Bature freshly cooked and served with flavorful chutney and pickle, love it.

Shya R.

Yelp
#1 Indian Curry Chicken in Reno, NV. I've searched all over for the freshest and most delicious curry chicken and I found it at Nayaab. Highly recommended!!!!!!
google avatar

Elliot K.

Yelp
It was so good, I forgot to take a picture before I started eating. I ordered the Silver meat platter, which I ordered the butter chicken, and it came with rice and pakora, or if you want a samosa, you can get that instead. It also included 2 pieces of fresh made naan. So delicious give it a try you won't regret it.

Siaosi K.

Yelp
I'm so disappointed my fatass wanted more and I was sad when my plate disappeared in 5 seconds I don't know if I should cry or buy the whole counter but this is the best food in the mall me and my 4 daughters came to eat at the mall for different varieties of food they got Asian we got Indian and they couldn't finish there plates they went and put there plates in the car. Hands down the best food in Reno
google avatar

Whitney F.

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem!! When we saw the sign go up earlier this year, we were excited as we love Indian food. The place hasn't disappointed. The people who work here are so friendly and service is fantastic. All of the food was very fresh. Our favorites are the chicken tikka, butter chicken, and lamb. The rice and naan are delicious as well as the samosa. Every time we are by the mall and hungry, this is our go to spot. Give them a try!
google avatar

Wende D.

Yelp
I was back and tried the Tandoori wings. WOWOWOW! soooo delish. And crave-able. Still think your Raita is best in town. Will be back again very soon. :)
google avatar

Stan M.

Yelp
Service was very good and food was tasty, just the right amount of heat, but there was a short black hair found in my rice that is obviously not mine. Maybe consider using hair nets in the kitchen.
google avatar

Nicholas P.

Yelp
The food here is so flavorful and delicious! I was pleasantly surprised by the dishes, and the owners were very kind. I really hope this place continues to thrive and grow!
google avatar

Becky M.

Yelp
Delicious, fast, easy! I love that I can get yummy Indian food at the mall while my young son gets a cheeseburger at another vendor. The silver combo is a good amount of food. And the naan was cooked fresh for my order.

Paula M.

Yelp
This place is an absolute treasure. The food is made with the best ingredients and everything that comes out of this restaurant is decadent and delightful. The service is fenomenal, the owner loves to hear feedback and has educational videos and information about the food they are making. This place is a labor of love. I have come here two days in a row. Yesterday I had the chicken Tikka and today I had the butter chicken and the lamb. Each dish as spectacular as the next. I dont have pictures of yesterday because I ate it faster than I could capture it hehe. I highly recommend eating here.
google avatar

Mr Sharon O.

Yelp
What a pleasant surprise at the mall! Service is great! But I'd say that these guys are offering the best quality Indian food in town! Butter chicken, lamb and goat were all fantastic
google avatar

Mike B.

Yelp
Wow, can't believe this stellar of a spot is in a mall food court. Lamb Rogan Josh that is not just good, but great! Aloo Gobi with tons of flavor and perfect texture (not an overcooked mush like happens at a few other local spots). So nice to get a well rounded plate of food for one instead having to spend $35 for a few share portions. Nayaab will definitely be on my weekly lunch rotation permanently.
google avatar

Anita B.

Yelp
Fantastic food, sincerely maybe the best we have in Reno? Tried it twice, both dishes were excellent. People working here and the owner are very nice, informative and care a lot about what they do. Go support them, you will love it!

Erin C.

Yelp
Very friendly service and great food! The samosas were to die for. The chicken Tikka masala was perfectly spiced and delicious. The location in a mall food court makes it feel like a hidden gem, and also is handy if part of your group prefers a different kind of cuisine.

Alan S.

Yelp
Best tandoori chicken i have had! They cooked it fresh so it took a minute and worth the wait! Can't wait to try more, super friendly!

Connor P.

Yelp
The service was great! Staff took the time to explain to me what dishes they had available. The smell immediately caught my attention, it smells so good!! You get a decent portion for what you pay. Would recommend!
google avatar

Byron G.

Yelp
The people working were in the process of closing (we forgot when the mall closes) and were happy to serve. The food was excellent, especially for "mall food court" levels of expectations. The butter chicken was savory, the samosa was soft on the inside and not dry, the lamb and goat were both tender. I don't leave reviews. I'm leaving one. Take that as a sign that this place is great.

Ryan D.

Yelp
This place is BANGING, great small family business that's located in the mall, but if you order for pickup/delivery the food is made fresh to order (I saw it with my own eyes). Highly recommend this place if you are craving some Indian food especially if it's your first time . Try the samosae, best I've had

Robert L.

Yelp
The goat curry had little or no meat but lots of bones with no meat on them. I understand that bone-in meat is often customary, but bones with no meat was a surprise.
