Nazuna Hakone Miyanoshita

This is my second time visiting Hakone as a photographer, and I must say we had a wonderful time here. Our room was cozy and clean, exactly as advertised, and the private hot spring felt absolutely magical. The staff were all very friendly and polite, too. The location is great in terms of the view from the balcony, but it’s a bit of a walk to the station. Some cars do pass by underneath, but it’s not a problem with the light traffic at night. The food was tasty, and it would be nice if there were more variety for guests staying several days. Luckily, the staff made small adjustments whenever they could which we truly appreciate.

My wife and I spent 1 night in Nazuna Hakone Miyanoshita after exploring the Hakone region, and we regretted at wasn’t 2 instead! It was a little tricky to get to by foot as the roads are quite narrow without much of a sidewalk. However, from checking us in, serving us welcome snacks and showing us our room facilities, and even serving us dinner, Ryota and the other staff were wonderful. We immediately felt warm and welcomed. Soaking in our private onsen with a view of the hills and trees was so relaxing and refreshing. Ryota was also very patient with me trying to practice my half-baked Japanese. ありがとうござあいますRyotaさん! We totally recommend anyone looking to have some quiet, private time in a cosy environment, whilst surrounded by beautiful nature to consider Nazuna Hakone Miyanoshita.

We really enjoyed the hospitality and tranquility of Nazuna Hakone Miyanoshita. The welcome drink and welcome snacks were such a nice touch and helped us to settle in and relax after a stressful travel day. The room was so inviting and the outdoor private onsen and seating area were SO relaxing. We really enjoyed the delicious dinner and breakfast there, which was such a cool experience. At breakfast on the day of check out, we received a super thoughtful card from Ryota who had checked us in, thanking us for our stay including nice souvenirs and hojicha, after I had told him how much I love hojicha during the welcome drink experience. It was SO kind and we have loved enjoying it all from home, reflecting on our amazing Japan trip. Our stay at Nazuna Hakone Miyanoshita was absolutely magical – from the beautiful location and cozy rooms to the amazing staff who made us feel so welcome. The whole place feels like a peaceful hideaway in the treetops, with gorgeous onsens and such a warm atmosphere. We did the dinner experience with Rumina, who cooked everything to perfection and even ended the night with a fun game of janken pon and prizes! She was so kind and full of positive energy. Ryota checked us in and gave us such a thoughtful introduction to the property, making sure we had everything we needed to make the most of our stay. Everyone we met along the way was so friendly and accommodating — it really made the experience unforgettable. There’s a bus stop just down the hill, which makes it super easy to get into the city. We also had no trouble grabbing taxis using the GO app.

We booked our rooms about six months in advance. Although the room I initially wanted wasn’t available, Sanjo turned out to be absolutely wonderful, and I needn’t have stressed. The room was beautifully designed, with an exceptionally comfortable bed, pillows, and duvet. While there weren’t many places to hang towels after using the onsen and/or the shower, the hotel collected fresh towels for us every day. The bathroom amenities were excellent as well. We visited in mid-November, and the autumn foliage was breathtaking. The overall style of the hotel is simply stunning, and the Sanjo onsen itself was pretty fantastic! Our experience was wonderful from the moment we arrived. We had sent our luggage ahead, and the staff immediately asked if we’d like to arrange the luggage delivery service for our departure as well. Even before we arrived, they were quick and attentive in responding to my emails. The room offered a great variety of complimentary items, the lounge provided perfect little bites between meals, the late-night snack was delicious, and breakfast was absolutely divine. The staff also helped us book a taxi when it was time to leave. We had dinner at the hotel too, and it’s an absolute must—every dish was exceptional. While every staff member was fantastic, a special shout-out goes to Remina (i'd write more reviews if Google let me!), who has a wonderful sense of humour. She not only put up with my partner & i's demands but made our dinner a truly memorable and enjoyable experience!

We had an absolutely wonderful experience staying at Nazuna! The room we stayed in (Shijo) was really beautiful, you can tell all the decor and furniture is carefully curated. Our onsen was really lovely as its the fall season the trees were beautiful and we could hear the stream from outside which made it so peaceful and relaxing. The dinner and breakfast we had were delicious, everything was cooked in a coal pit in front of us which was fun to watch. All the staff were super friendly and helpful and made the experience very special! Excited to come back in the future!

We had an amazing stay, very sad to leave! The breakfasts are amazing, I can't think of a better way to start the day. With a nice dip in the private onsen then lovely 4 course breakfast, and off to see the sights. The whole Nazuna team are amazing, always happy to help and assist. Special thanks to Rumina who cooked our final meal and made sure to make it a special finish to our stay. Loved every moment, especially my 4 bowls of rice. Arigato gozaimasu.

First of all I would like to specially thank Rumina-chan for making our stay unforgettable. We loved the details and wonderful services they have provided us. We spent our honeymoon vacation in one of the greatest accomodations, Nazuna. Breakfast and dinner is strongly recommended as they are delicious and nutritious! Every morning we were able to enjoy great view of the mountains, trees, and river. The staff are extremely high standards on taking care of their guests. We had a wonderful stay for our honeymoon vacation. Once again I would like to thank all the staff and Rumina-chan! My wife and I wish to see all of you soon! 🙏🏼
