My husband and I stayed at this hotel last year for our 10‑year anniversary trip. Because of timing, we were only able to stay for one night, but we made the most of it by arriving right at check‑in and enjoying our private onsen. From the moment we arrived in town, we were already in awe of the surroundings and the cleanliness of the area around the hotel.
As soon as we stepped into the entrance, we were greeted by Miyasaka, who looked after us throughout our stay and even cooked our breakfast in front of us the next morning. She was kind and knowledgeable who also gave us tips for Kyoto and for our next day around the area. Our room was one of the best I’ve ever stayed in — beautifully clean, with an amazing view, great privacy (there were only around 4–5 rooms on our floor), thoughtful amenities, and warm, atmospheric lighting. It was a little cosy in size, which is expected in Japan, but we truly couldn’t fault it.
During dinner, Rumina prepared all our dishes and made the experience very memorable. She seemed a little nervous but was extremely attentive and friendly. The food at Nazuna was beautifully traditional and ended up being one of the best meals we had in Japan on the entire trip. There was also an option to order a snack delivered to the room after dinner, but the dinner itself was more than enough for us.
Thank you to the entire team, overall it was a truly memorable experience, our only regret was not staying longer! This hotel was an absolute gem.
