Review: Lunch at Nebo, Antwerp
My second visit to Nebo today, and once again, it didn’t disappoint. I enjoyed their beautifully curated 3-course lunch menu, which was a testament to both creativity and quality.
• BLUEFIN TUNA (Akami – Shiso – Umeboshi – Ponzu): The Akami (lean cut of tuna) was perfectly prepared, and the combination of Shiso (Japanese herb), Umeboshi (pickled plum), and Ponzu (citrus-based soy sauce) added a delicate balance of freshness and umami.
• ANJOU PIGEON (Chantenay carrot – Persimmon – Nameko – Madagascan pepper): A standout dish. The richness of the pigeon paired wonderfully with the sweetness of Chantenay carrot and persimmon, while the Nameko mushrooms and hint of Madagascan pepper brought complexity to the plate.
• Dame Blanche (Vanilla ice cream – Warm chocolate sauce – Whipped cream): A timeless classic, executed to perfection, and the ideal way to finish the meal.
The quality of ingredients and the execution of each dish were superb. Their wine list is thoughtfully curated, with excellent pairings available. Add to that the warm hospitality and attentive service, and you have a dining experience worth repeating.
Nebo is undoubtedly one to keep on your list for 2025. A true gem in Antwerp!
