"Ned’s may be the D.C. area’s first introduction to tender, messy North Shore roast beef sandwiches. It’s also a great destination for lobster rolls of either style, and features a “fluffy” lobster bisque that certainly doesn’t skimp on the butter." - Missy Frederick, Eater Staff

"Co-owners and longtime friends Steve Forbes and Anthony Gallotto just brought a taste of their native New England to Fairfax City with the March opening of Ned’s. The rating is purely based on the food. The staff and atmosphere was great! We came here after seeing this place on fox news. The guy that was on tv took our order. We got the lobster bisque, clam chowder, lobster roll, lobster BLT and fried scallops. The bisque and chowder had decent flavor but it felt like it almost came from a can. No chunks of anything (except sour cream.) Lobster roll was good but the lobster and the tossed sauce needs more flavor? Not too much just a little more, but I also understand letting the lobsters flavors stand out the most. The fried scallops themselves were pretty good. The fries that came along with them were cold when they arrived and became soggy. They were either precooked some time ago or left on the table without heat while the scallops were being cooked. The lobster BLT was good. The vegetables inside were fresh and perfectly compliment the meats. The bread was toasted great.

Google
Lobster rolls and roast beef sandwich were good! Chowder was very creamy but I didnt have many clams. Fisherman platter had scallops, clams, and fish..the small pieces of fish were unexpected. I was thinking it'd be similar to fish and chips but was not. Fried dough and Boston cream cake were nothing to rave about but would def be back for a roast beef sandwich!

So lobster rolls have been a big craving of mine, so I decided to google on my way home. This place!!!!! Soooo good! I got the lobster roll with mayonnaise in it (I forgot the name). It was creamy and super refreshing. I also added the onion rings and those are AMAZING. Staff is friendly and the place is very homey. Like going to your grandparents house and eating in their backyard. Enjoy

Google
Absolutely wonderful experience. My husband and I have been craving a really good roast beef sandwich for years. This one blew our minds. It was divine. So glad I read reviews and got the onion straws, too, because they were delicious on it. Truffle fries were very good, too. Everything was great and the staff was the best. Great experience today!

Google
Visited today for the first time. We heard they had great lobster rolls but found that everything was amazing. The lobster roll rivaled those we’ve had in Maine and my roast beef sandwich was the best I’ve ever tasted. There was so much roast beef! Brianna was a great host and gave us great recommendations. The inside was small but their outside porch is probably amazing when the weather is warm. The two owners are friends who hail from Boston so they know their lobster and it shows. They even passed my ultimate restaurant test…the bathrooms were clean and well stocked! Check it out.

Google
I visited there the other day because I was interested in the roast beef sandwich they offer.. and I was Super impressed Ned's Northshore Beef sandwich.. the roast beef with delicious then they put barbecue sauce little bit of ketchup and mayonnaise and a slice of cheese And the sesame seed bun made it all work.

Google
Come here thinking you’re satiating a lobster roll craving — and leave being a newfound addict of North Shore roast beef. Steve’s hospitality was next level. Super personable, giving us a rundown of the menu, and just overall very friendly and accommodating. We were pleasantly surprised to see how packed it got and were glad we just beat the lunch rush. This place is worth the drive, near or far. Outdoor seating is great. All of the staff are so nice. We’ll be back for sure.

It was a rainy day so I was craving some fried clams and hot soup. I knew where I should go and Ned's didn't disapoint me. In the photos: fluffy chowder and whole belly clam platter. I left with a full and happy tummy. Ofc, the staff was also friendly and attentive. Totally recommend this place if you are looking for New England culinary.

Yelp
First time we ate at Ned's we were pleasantly surprised at how good the seafood was. Had fried whole clams and lobster roll. Everything was great. We just ate here today and had a completely different experience. Not good at all! I had the Fisherman's platter. Plateful of crumbs could not distinguish what I was eating. Was it a thumbnail size piece of fish???? Or was it scallops that were cut into tiny piece? Said there were whole clams but could find any. Literally a basket of fried crumbs of indistinguishable seafood. Husband had the sliced beef sandwich. He barely ate half of it - very unusual for him. He said he would never order that again. We were so excited to find this place but now we're rethinking that. If we go back, we would again order the whole clam platter and lobster roll, and just hope it's as good as the first time. Would not risk ordering anything else. I love fish and chips but if it's anything like the fish on the fisherman's platter, it's NOT fish and chips that you would normally expect. Really disappointed today given how much we spent.

Yelp
I grew up on the north shore just outside Boston but moved to DC years ago. I was feeling a bit homesick and had multiple people recommend Ned's to me. Wow. Probably the best beef sandwich I've had, as good if not better than anything back home in MA, service was super friendly and atmosphere was great. Will for sure be back.

Yelp
We went to Ned's for lunch and got the Lobster Roll, Crab Roll and truffle fries. Our friends got the Beef Sandwich and Lobster Roll, as well. The roll is a Hawaiian roll and they are heavy handed with their serving of meat in the roll. Really good flavor and felt authentic/classic. They will run you about $27-$35 per roll, so you really could share bc it's a lot of meat. We upgraded our side to the truffle fries, was sooo good and the dipping sauce was good too (likely a garlic aoili). It was a little pricey, but I'll pay for good food. The inside is kind of small, more of a grab n go, with a few bistro tables. The outside patio is very spacious, lots of picnic tables and areas to spread out.

Yelp
Great. Lobster is amazing but I need try the beef next time. Pricey but worth it Great service, friendly and outgoing servers. A++++ Highly recommend but it is pricey be warned

Yelp
We decided to give Ned a try today after reading the reviews. Barry had the fried clam bellies with fries and I had the lobster roll with fried onion strings which was an up charge of $2.00. The service was friendly, informative and quick. The food was hot. I was able to have my lobster roll served with butter rather than mayonnaise which is how I like it. Barry said that the his plate was a generous portion and delicious. We couldn't finish our food. The lobster roll bread was toasted and very tasty, sadly I ate the lobster, and left most of the delicious bread behind. Outside and inside seating was clean and available. We will go again- there are more things on the menu that we want to try. Maybe divide and conquer next time.

Yelp
The food here is absolutely amazing and the service and staff are so kind. I was skeptical going here because it is a bit pricey but believe me it is worth every penny. They seriously give you so much meat on both the lobster roll and the beef sandwich. Their truffle fries are great and I would recommend giving this place a shot. I got to go but the outdoor area they have seems like a good place to have a family catch up or dinner/lunch with friends. Absolutely give them a try.

James H.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this place and was pleasantly surprised. Just ordered the lobster roll which was actually pretty expensive but tasted very good. The fries were super crispy and stayed fresh until I got back home with my food. The place also has a nice deck if you decide to dine in. Feels like one of those places that's worth trying a few different menu items so I'll surely be back. Perfect spot in the Spring and Summer.

Samantha T.

Yelp
Got the lobster roll on a CT roll and the poke nachos. Absolutely LOVED both items! Both were so delicious and so flavorful. They have seating inside and outside, the parking lot was on the smaller side but it wasn't too hard to find a spot. The price was definitely on the pricier side, but also expected for a lobster roll place. The roll was $29 and the poke nachos were $19. Theres also an option to get more lobster stuffed into the roll if you're looking for a more stuffed lobster roll (for a fee ofc). Maybe not a place for every week dining but if you're craving a lobster roll in NOVA its definitely a place worth checking out!

Yelp
While in the area doing some shopping I had a taste for seafood and opened Yelp looking for some recommendations. Up pops Ned's with its stellar ratings so we decided to stop in. After dining at Ned's I must say I 100% understand the high rating!! The service was TOP TIER and the owner/cashier went above and beyond to provide excellent service. From taking our orders, giving us recommendations, preparing the dishes, and clearing the tables he was a Rockstar. The wait for our food was pretty short and it came out fresh. I am generally not a fan of Poke, so the nachos were about 4/5 stars but the Lobster Roll and Fish and chips were both a 6/5! Delicious!! I can literally taste the food while writing this review and I cant wait to get back and try the "other" lobster roll (I forgot the two options but I believe one is warm and one is chilled?). But again the owner was so kind and I know he would gladly give some other great options for the next visit! The location is pretty small but we had no problem finding seats inside. It was pretty fast casual in the sense that most people didn't linger after finishing their food. There was window and outdoor seating which is nice and something I look forward to utilizing once it gets a little warmer outside. Thank you Ned's for a 10/10 dining experience. From the service, to the food, to the location, to the ambiance everything is excellent!

Yelp
After waiting 3 months I called and got an update to see if their manner of cooking the fish had changed and I'm glad to say it has. A proper thinner batter, less salt and golden brown. Nice clean well maintained venue. Olivia and Breanna are the best - they are cordial, helpful and very accommodating.

Yelp
First time, thought restaurant week would be good time to try. Ordered the clam cake appetizer. They were similar to hush puppies, they were dense and chewey, not much flavor, tried malt vinegar on some and the dipping sauce that came with it, a horseradish based sauce, no help. For my main I ordered the Mussels and frite, when they came out no frites(fries), I waited thinking were to come, no luck. I asked about the fries, was told they didn't come with fries, but on the menu it says they did; I didn't want confrontation so I just said no worries, but the counter person said " I didn't tell you, so I'll give them to you" all the while they were sitting on the counter. The mussels were plentiful and in great sauce, a white wine, Lemon and cream sauce, very tasty. Bottom line I would recommend the mussels, definitely not the clam cakes.

Yelp
It's tiny, adorable, counter-service only and exactly reminds you of being at the beach ... and its right next to a Baskin Robins - what is more boardwalk than seafood, fries and ice cream?!?! I know people go here for the lobster, but I am just going to say 5 huge stars for the Beef sandwich - which is Arby's on steroids and worth every penny. That sucker is HUGE and I told my husband "oh, of course you can try it. I can't eat the whole thing"... well... I did... and faster than I should have. He did get a little taste of the scraps of meat that fell out of the massive mountain of meat though :) The guy at the counter recommended it and, man, he was on point with that recommendation. I am not a huge lobster fan but my two companions got the overstuffed, Connecticut-style (????) - the one with just butter - lobster rolls and they said they were pretty on point, just $$$$. I mean it was a solid amount of lobster, so if you are fiending some lobster, it is a solid roll - or so I am told, but the bang for your buck is the roast beef sandwich with the cheese sauce and whatever other goodness they recommend. Also - fries are solid boardwalk fries - like several notches above Thrashers, and I do love some Thrashers. For the solid 10 minutes it took me to chow down on that sandwich with fries... I was back at the beach!

Yelp
What a great first experience at Ned's! We found the parking to be easy and got to see their lovely outside picnic area while walking in. The menu isn't overwhelming and detailed so you have a good understanding of what you're ordering. My husband and I shared both the roast beef sandwich and the turkey sandwich with French fries and crispy onion rings. The sandwiches were overflowing with meat, they were so filling! Next time we go, I plan to dine there and take advantage of all the drink options they have as well as the dog friendly patio!

Yelp
What a cute place! Plenty of outside dining, a few tables inside; it feels like a New England seafood joint. Being from Connecticut, we were very curious to see what this is about. The menu had the two kinds of lobster rolls: cold and hot with butter. There's clam chowder, seafood platter, and fried items. The prices seemed on par with New England prices. I went with the ahi tuna salad. The seaweed salad was a nice touch. The tuna was flavored well. The portion size was perfect for a meal. My husband started with clam chowder, which has bacon. He thought it was only okay because it was too thick and needed more clams. He then had the Cobb salad that came with lobster. The blueberries were a great bright touch. The lobster, bacon, corn, and dressing made this a great twist on a traditional Cobb. The guy we spoke to seemed like the owner. He was super friendly and explained the menu layout to us. The staff were all very nice. Best of all, service was quick and without any issues.

Yelp
I came here a few weeks ago and really enjoyed the beef sandwich, I have always been fan of Chaps Pit Beef. This is much closer and going to need to take a trip to Baltimore to see which one I like more. I am leaning towards Neds but will update. Highly recommend

Yelp
Ordered this for takeout, and the takeout containers were great. Even with me bringing it back home, the food was still crispy/ hot as intended for the dishes. Ned's is a small hidden gem that needs to have more hype. I heard about it when it opened and have been meaning to try it, but it took a while for me to finally crave clam chowder and a lobster roll. I ordered online, and the service was really efficient and transparent. They texted information of when the food would most likely be ready, as well as a digital receipt. ------------------------------- What I ordered: - New England Clam Chowder - Downeast Lobster Roll (subbed with onion strings) - North Shore Beef Super Sammie ------------------------------- Chowder: 5/5! Super delicious and savory. I think it may have needed a little extra clam, but it was still a great flavor. Lobster roll: 5/5. crispy roll, even when ordered via takeout. The lobster wasn't super buttery, but still light and refreshing. Super sammie: 4/5. This was SOOOOOO savory. This was THICCCCCCC. The flavor is top notch, and the roll is like a caramelized onion roll. Overall, I felt like your blood pressure and cholesterol would rise up. You'd need someone to split this with you. ------------------------------- Tip: look up parking in advance, it can be a weird turn to park.

Yelp
Loved it! We were at KJMS and were at the stop light, and hungry. We saw the sign and thought, let's check it out. So so so glad we did. The young lady at the counter was wonderful! Great smoke, friendly, patient and made sure we were happy with everything. The lobster roll and clam chowder was hearty, with big chunks of meaty lobster. Clean, with a cute casual feel. We'll definitely be back!

Zack G.

Yelp
Casual, counter-service, New England themed restaurant with both seafood (think lobster rolls, fried clams, fish & chips) and beef options + a few different prepackaged options Have both indoor and outdoor seating Very friendly staff I came here for lunch with my GF and I got a lobster roll with a side of fries, while she opted for the nachos The nachos were probably the worst of the things we tried, whereas the lobster roll was solid, and the fries were fresh and delicious. The roll that the lobster roll was on was very fresh and tasty as well

Becca K.

Yelp
Food was great! Service was great, asked for recommendations and they did not disappoint! Poke Nachos (4.5/5 - had a bit too much red onion and ginger for my husband, but still very good) Down East Lobster Roll (5/5 - packed full of lobster, Ned's dressing was perfect) Onion Strings (5/5 - thin and perfectly crispy)

Nina W.

Yelp
*3.5/5 stars* - I have been craving seafood lately and was looking forward to trying this spot out. The service was great and everyone was really friendly as soon as you walk though the doors. The staff recommended getting the fried clam and the fried scallops, and we ordered those recs plus the lobster roll, clam chowder, and sandwich. We decided to sit outside since it was a beautiful afternoon. They have a good amount of outdoor picnic table style seating that reminded me of being at the beach. The absolute standout was the fried scallops! I'd come back here to eat it again. I thought the fried clams were sometimes a bit too gamey and the lobster roll was good and fresh, but pricey. The clam chowder didn't have a lot of actual clam in it, and the sandwich was good, but tasted somewhat similar to what I've had at Arby's (with higher quality roast beef). Overall, I was satisfied with the food. It definitely seemed fresh. It was just pricey for the amount of food you get.

Amy B.

Yelp
I really think it deserves a 3 1/2. Large Beef was very good 4/5. Clam chowder was awful and watery 1/5, lobster roll was ok 3/5. We paid around )35 for a fisherman's platter of fried clams, fish and shrimp. It was such a small portion. It was very tasty but we thought 2 people could share because of the price. We were wrong. 3/5

Elizabeth A.

Yelp
Fish and onions rings were overcooked/burnt. Beef sandwich was 75% pure inedible fat. Second time here and we won't be back. First time we had an issue with the lobster roll. Prices are very high. $53 for fried fish and the disgusting fat beef sandwich!

C I.

Yelp
Welcoming staff explains the menu and made recommendations. Food was served quickly. We had the lobster rolls, beef sandwich and poke nachos. Will be returning again soon. Plenty of outdoor tables to eat at.

Andy Y.

Yelp
An absolute delight! From the warm welcome upon entering to the last bite. The Super Beef Sammie was hearty and delicious. The house sauce is a perfect mix of sweetness and just enough flavoring to dirty your hands at every bite. The ambiance is very homey and the service is very helpful. A must return to try other menu options. Enjoy!

Kate F.

Yelp
We have been there a few times now and I am a fan (1st time not a fan).... 1. I felt like it is a bit expensive but quickly got over that, the proximity to our house, and quality of the food makes this of five star venue! 2. Everybody here is so nice, it is definitely a neighborhood restaurant. 3. My son loves the turkey sandwiches, my husband has tried many different dishes, and I finally tried their clams! 4. One downside is, I cannot figure out their happy hour. Yes! We will keep going back.

Michaelle S.

Yelp
Upon entering the restaurant, we were warmly greeted by a friendly hostess at the counter. We had some questions about the menu, particularly regarding gluten-free options. I had called ahead to inquire about the beef sandwich and whether we could bring our own gluten-free bun for them to prepare it, and they confirmed that we could. However, since we were coming from a different location and couldn't grab the bun, we decided to explore other options. Fortunately, they had a gluten-free lobster roll on the menu, which turned out to be delicious. I would definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a tasty beef sandwich or a lobster roll.

Mark B.

Yelp
I had a Lobster Roll and a Half Dozen Steamers. The food was awesome. The Steamers were a little pricey but worth it; and the Lobster Roll was even better! The service was very friendly even though the place is setup equally for dine in or take-out. The ambiance is very nice, especially the outside seating area (Ned's Deck) on a nice day like it was this evening. I'm so happy I finally went to this place that is within walking distance of my house. I'll go back soon and try a "super beef" soon.

Victoria C.

Yelp
We came here for Mother's Day lunch with my in-laws. They love lobster/lobster rolls and were very happy! Parking is a little tight, I'm sure on more crowded days, it might be hard to find a spot. As others have said, they have a lot of outdoor seating with a smaller indoor seating area. There was a table for 6 indoors, which was perfect for our family! You order at the counter, and they call your name at the counter for pick up/sometimes they bring out the food to you as well. We got 4 lobster rolls (3 with fries, 1 with fried onion strings for a $2 upcharge from the bag of chips), 2 whole belly fried clam platters, lobster bisque, and a lobster Louie salad. They came out quicker than we thought, and it looked amazing! The lobster rolls were a decent size and delicious. I'm used to the hot butter lobster rolls, but this colder mayo version was fantastic. The fries were the star. Handcut potatoes (we also saw the empty boxes of potatoes in the back) were so good. The lobster bisque was thick but not bad. The lobster Louie salad looked delicious. My brother in law raved about the dressing it came with. The cashier and employees were very friendly and nice. We really enjoyed it! Like any other lobster roll place, you'll be spending some money!

Adrian B.

Yelp
The website is awesome, which is what attracted me to this restaurant. It's located in Fairfax just off of Route 50. They've got a parking lot to park. There are a few seats indoors, but most of the seats are outside and are covered, which is nice. We ordered fried clams, lobster bisque, lobster roll with onion straws, roast beef sandwich with onion straws, a Pellegrino, a Diet Coke, and a glass of Pinot noir. The tab was $107. You pay when you order and then they claim they'll bring your food out to you if they're not busy, otherwise they call your name over an intercom system. The food was fantastic. I especially liked the roast beef sandwich, the lobster bisque, and the lobster roll. The seafood was definitely fresh and well prepared. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The sign said they have live music on Thursdays and it seems like a nice venue for that. The food is fantastic, but being prompted for a tip when I went to pay threw me off a bit. After dropping $107 for dinner for two, I felt like a chump having left a tip and still having to go pick up my order, bus my table when I was done, etc. It's a nice place with great food, but I find being prompted for a tip to be extremely obnoxious. More so when they don't even wait on your table.

Olivia C.

Yelp
Lobster rolls? Beef sandwich? It's just an unassuming spot but you really do feel like you're at the Maine coast with the nautical themed joint and deck! The ordering process was easy and counter server told us we could get our lobster roll warm or cold, which was nice. We got a lobster roll and some fries to share since we had already eaten and had come next door to get some dessert BUT it was delicious! The portion was on the smaller side and the fries were a bit soggy but all good. The spots outside could have used some tending to but we were there for a short amount of time. Will definitely have to come back to try the beef but will have to get our own sandwiches next time.

Lauren S.

Yelp
The food is amazing, the owner is so kind, and the atmosphere is great! Highly recommend this place for lobster rolls and any other seafood - the crab rangoon dip is amazing as well!

Yelp
Ned's New England Deck at 10655 Fairfax Boulevard or Route 50 to most of us, is spanking new. Open only a couple weeks, this place is a knock-out! Great conversation with husband and wife owner team--Steve and Fiona--very pleasant duo hailing from Massachusetts. Ned's is created in the image of a Traditional North Shore Clam Shack. Lobsters are flow in fresh from Maine and each Lobster Roll is made with one and a quarter pounds of lobster! Even the way they call out that your order is ready reminds me of the Cape. Dining room is small but well-appointed. Note: Lobster Tony gives a multi-dimensional and talented assist to Steve and Fiona in serving you! The outdoor patio looks very inviting to enjoy a tasty meal. The House Specialties are the Beef Sammie and the Lobster Roll. I tried the Chef Salad with home-made Vinaigrette. All the ingredients were fresh and delicious. I am already planning my next trip to Ned's soon. Stop in to see Steve, Fiona and Lobster Tony, you will not regret it!

Daniel Y.

Yelp
Ok, so... bottom line up front: food quality isn't good and it's overpriced. Beef sandwich - way too saucy and by the texture of the buns, either the kitchen staff hasn't been trained properly or the main chef simply doesn't care. It's sad, especially for a place that apparently specializes in beef sandwiches. Overloaded sauce in the sandwich dominates the flavor of the sliced beef. Potato fries - rock hard and dark complexion, likely re-fried with old and dirty cooking oil. Fish and chips - similar to the fries. Cooked with old dirty oil, no doubt. Blend flavors. No good. Fried clam strips - salty, real salty. Almost inedible. Lobster roll - mediocre at best, quite pricey. Not sure why I'd come here just for this. Clam chowder - texture is way too thick. Ok flavors. Nothing to write home about. This place definitely seems over-hyped. Probably because there hasn't been a place that specializes in the same menu offering in the past in our area. I've been there few times at this point and won't be going back until they address their food quality issues. Very nice customer-facing staff though.

Jasmine J.

Yelp
I really liked the food and the service was nice. It's a very peaceful place, great for lunch. I'll be back again soon

Dave F.

Yelp
So me being a First timer, the gentleman at the counter was super friendly and offered several great options. The picture of the beef sandwich sent cravings all over! Inside and outside seating, plenty of options for seating. A few adult beverage options...see pics. Wow the 3 way beef sammy was incredible. I added a cup of horseradish...amazeballs! Comes with a bag of chips, perfect.

Alison W.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious lobster rolls and clam chowder (especially the one with huge lobster chunks). Great beer selection. Can't give five stars since chowder came after lobster rolls and fries came after we were done with our meal. The waitress sweet and apologetic, however. Will definitely come back more this summer and sit out on the patio.

Trang H.

Yelp
This was probably the best lobster roll I've had! The bun was warm and buttery, and the lobster pieces were very juicy. I'm a fan of butter lettuce so glad they included that as well. The price was on the high side so it would be nice if it came with fries instead of chips. My boyfriend had the beef Sammie and enjoyed that as well. It's great to have a fast casual lobster & Sammie's restaurant in the area!

Lindsay P.

Yelp
Stopped by Ned's on a Tuesday night for dinner. It's a very cozy/casual place for dinner. We liked the outdoor seating although it is a bit loud with the cars driving by but besides that it was nice to be outside. My husband ordered the steak and cheese with chips and I got the lobster roll with fries. I really liked the lobster roll! I thought it was a good chunk of lobster in it and was seasoned nicely. My only complaint is that the price is a bit steep but that roll was delicious. My husband thought the price for the cheese steak was a bit high as well but he thought it was tasty. I thought their fries were really yummy too. I will definitely return but not as often as I'd like due to price.

Meredith K.

Yelp
After seeing a couple other pictures and reviews we decided to take the trip over here to check out some lobster rolls. Between the party we had we got a kids meal, a lobster roll, and a super beef roll. ALL super tasty! Portions are super generous and everything is seasoned great. Almost reminds you of t a trip to Maine! This is definetly a step up from Masons in Reston and great for a mix of people who like seafood and for those that don't. The selections are good and everyone enjoyed it so much and only some managed to finish. We will def be coming back before summer ends. The outdoor seating area is cute too. Picnic benches set a little back from the main road outside with paper towels and condiments.

Yelp
WOW!!!!! The food here is amazing. So much delicious lobster! The clam chowder may be the best I have ever had. Worth every penny! The staff was incredibly friendly, attentive and helpful. The outdoor patio area is a great place to sit out and enjoy the delicious food. Just wow!!!

Yelp
In town for work & found Ned's. I wanted to pay respect for the peeps in Maine after the shooting incident in Lewiston yesterday. Lobster roll is good, maybe a bit too much mayonnaise, but any Mainer will tell you that. Onion crisps , yummy.

Yelp
Great food and service, my new go to spot. The clams and lobster roll were delicious. Going back to try more items from the menu.

Yelp
Ned's New England Deck Overall I would say this is a 3.5 rating. We heard that Ned's New England had large clam strips. We haven't had any in a long time so we decided to give Ned's a try. There is a small parking lot around the back next to the outdoor seating area (picnic tables). Looks like they have live music on certain nights. This is a small restaurant with some tables inside. We were greeted by some friendly folks who went through the menu with us. We wanted to try the fried clam plate. a large lobster roll and substituted the chips for onion straws instead of chips for an additional $2.00. We also had two orders of clam chowder. You order at the counter and they either call your number or bring you your food if you are inside if they are not too busy. Overall the food is ok. There wasn't anything special about the clam strips. The lobster roll is ok. The clam chowder was tasty but very rich and the color was a little yellowish. Mine did not have many clams in it. It was a little disappointing. It was too rich for one of us. The experience is similar to going to a fish shack on the side of the road. You order some food and go find a place to eat it (picnic table, inside tables or take it home). There is no table service. For the price you are paying, you might as well go to a restaurant where there is table service and drink refills. Not a bad experience but not worth the price for what you get (food or service).

Yelp
Excellent food, delicious lobster roll and clam strips. A bit pricey, but worth it. Best lobster roll outside of New England.

Yelp
Devious food and very nice staff. A few tables inside and nice seating outside. Will be coming back

Yelp
As native New Englanders, we love the concept and the outdoor seating. Unfortunately, the whole belly clams and the fries that came with them were overcooked and overseasoned. I'm also not sure these were actually whole belly. The fish and chips were also overcooked. Onion straws were good.

Yelp
I'm not sure what part of New England Ned's is supposed to be representing, but it's not any part I'm familiar with (and I'm from Massachusetts.) I will give them credit for expertly using that lettuce leaf to disguise how little lobster salad is in the lobster roll - but to be clear, it's lobster salad, and not good lobster salad at that. A real lobster roll doesn't need to dice up the off bits to cover for not being fresh lobster. There was one recognizable chunk in the whole roll, and it's that little claw piece bottom center. For $29, getting a roll that would have been McD's grade at home was disappointing. Also, real New England clam chowder doesn't include bacon.

Yelp
We had lunch. The New England crab role was huge and flavorful. The buffalo chicken wrap an interesting (good) sauce. The fries were well-salted.
