I was so excited to check this store out finally, but was stunned at the rudeness. I’ve been needlepointing for a while and brought my friend in to pick out a canvas to get her started, big mistake. It’s as if the owner only wants seasoned stitchers shopping and proceeded to complain about how needlepoint has become so popular she can’t get threads timely and her finishers are backed up doing simple rounds for people. I’d think a resurgence was a good thing for business, but that’s me. The drama with dog was another thing, I recommend not even making eye contact with it, and so help yourself if you need to use the restroom before you check out and spend a few hundred dollars as the dog needs put away and that’s a drastic inconvenience. Overall, my friend refuses to go back given the attitude and tone we received and as a novice prefers to drive farther for a more enjoyable experience where she isn’t viewed as an inconvenient customer.

I did not feel welcome. I was bluntly asked what I was looking for when I entered the store, even before I saw what was in the store. When I asked about knitting needles, the owner had to put the dog in a kennel, and as I looked at the needles, I felt like she was making sure I didn’t steal anything. As a 70 year old customer who simply wants to explore your store, I was very intimidated. I love knitting a d adore yarn shops, but am not sure if I will return.

Today was my first time at Needletree and it will be my last. I took my grandmother there as she is traveling from out of state. As we entered the building the owner spoke rudely to my husband, stating children aren't allowed. I typically would have understood however her reasoning was because she has a full grown St. Bernard dog inside "who doesnt like children". She proceeded to speak down to us and others in the store and would not allow access to items such as needles for my grandmother to determine what she wanted. "Tell me what you want and I'll get it because it's back here and the organization is only what I understand". I'm all for businesses doing there thing and running things how they see fit. However, for a local business to be brash and rude is unacceptable. One visit and done. I hope others are treated better than we were.

I had such a lovely experience with KT at The Needle Tree today. I am not from Greeneville but was visiting town and am so thrilled I stopped by her shop. She has the best selection of canvases I’ve ever seen in person. I am not strong at selecting fibers for my projects and KT jumped right in to help me make some beautiful choices and help teach me how to do so for myself in the future. Thank you for the warmth and support today KT! Oh… and best shop dog ever!

Wow, what an unbelievably horrible experience. I don’t normally go in craft stores with my wife, I usually wait in the car, but I’m really glad I went in this time. When we walked in the door, a lady asked if she could help us, and my wife began to describe what she was looking for. The lady interrupted her and told her that if she didn’t know information like the guy lot and the gauge of the yarn, she couldn’t help her. She was incredibly condescending and rude about it. She even proceeded to tell my wife that she was welcome to “wander aimlessly” around the store. At that point, I said that we should just go, because I didn’t want to use language that I would regret, and I certainly wasn’t going to give that lady a penny of my money.

KT is patient and kind to her customers, particularly those new to the needlepoint community. She sat down one (busy Sat) morning last year and taught me the basics of needlepoint. I wish I could spend all of my time in the store! It makes me so happy to look at all of the canvases she has. She is eager to help with thread choice, too. I do most of my shopping here!!

I love this shop. So adorable! Beautiful, quality yarn. Crystal Palace needles that are fantastic. It is hard to settle for anything less now. The owner is very friendly and helpful. She is very talented, but patient with beginners. She is very helpful with providing patterns, as well. A customer for life!

I was there a few days before Thanksgiving 2018. Both ladies are very nice. I had never been in the store but they treated me like they had known me forever. Jan helped me with my knitting issue that I had caused (imagine that). Not only fixing it but showing me what to do, to be able to fix it myself in the future. Not one time did they try to push any type of sale on me (though i did by some yarn and a small cable needle) or charge me for the help. Great experience! Thank You Ladies.

Yelp
Am very impressed with this cute and inviting smart shoppe. I am new to the world of needle point, but I can see there is a very large inventory the owner has that is more than needlepoint. I like to shop local, and didn't know of the shop before I bought a canvas online. K.T. Can order that for you - just ask. She worked with the color palette I wanted, and ordered yarn for me. Quick to answer questions, and very knowledgeable about her trade. Felt extremely safe with her COVID-19 protocols in place.

Yelp
Sweet little shop owned by friendly mother daughter team. Nestled in a house converted to boutique, especially notable: selection of local indie dyers and a roomful of baby yarn. Owner is very helpful with picking out projects and they have classes and knit alongs.

Yelp
I love LYS and this is a good one! Great selection, although it looks like they could use more space. It kind of has a "cluttered" feel, which helps create a certain ambiance. The owner was great, as was her mom who was winding yarn. You should definitely stop by this place, if only to see the owner's dog who is gigantic and adorable!

Yelp
What treasures this local yarn shop and it's owners are for Greenville! I was traveling through Greenville and needed a specific yarn -- I found what I needed and 7 more skeins (cheerfully wound for me!) of breathtakingly gorgeous yarns I can't wait to knit up. The weather was horrid for my walk back to my downtown hotel, so they so generously gave me a lift back! I felt relaxed, encouraged, and among friends there, which is exactly how a local yarn shop should feel.

Yelp
What a cute little shop! Definitely a family business. On the edge of a residential district, in the bottom of a house. The store owner and her mom were there, along with a big orange tom who loves digging through the yarn and a gigantic dog, who sleeps behind the gate. As with many yarn stores, a table in the middle is covered with projects, books, yarn winders and people working on projects. I went to buy some buttons and boy did they have buttons. They have a decent selection of yarn. They don't have rooms upon rooms of it, but they do have a nice, quality selection from which to choose. They also have a ton of patterns and needles, as well as some needlework supplies. Had a lovely chat with the folks there, who were warm and friendly (and that can be hard sometimes to find in a yarn store.) They gave me a frequent shopper card too, which after I spend $250, I get a $25 credit. It won't take long to get to that point, as I'm certain I will go back. A nice, decent size store with a really warm and friendly vibe.
