Neemrana Fort-Palace | Best places to stay in Alwar

"Set above rustic Neemrana village on the shoulders of a stark ridge in the Aravalli Hills, Neemrana Fort-Palace is a sublime confection of medieval fortress and fairy-tale palace. Originally built in the 1460s and expanded down the centuries, by 1947 it was abandoned and rapidly deteriorating. Its bold, late-1980s restoration has been bolstered by appealing, almost ‘Indo-Tuscan’, additions. With almost 80 rooms and suites spread over 14 levels, it’s a lovely, relaxing and essentially rural hotel with charming terraces and gardens plus a welcome pair of swimming pools. For a different perspective, a spectacular zip wire spans the lofty ridge above and behind the property – with awesome views of the fort-palace. For a more sedate experience, the hotel arranges simple camel-cart tours of the locality – a mode of transport still used by some villagers throughout rural Rajasthan.   " - Amar Grover

I had the pleasure of staying at Rang Mahel and Dahej Mahal, and the experience was truly memorable. The rooms were not only spacious and beautifully maintained but also spotlessly clean, offering a perfect blend of comfort and elegance. The staff deserves a special mention – extremely polite, attentive, and always ready to help with a warm smile. A heartfelt thanks to Mr. Mahesh and Mr. Akshay for their exceptional service and hospitality, which made the stay all the more enjoyable. The overall service was top-notch, right from check-in to check-out, making the stay seamless and stress-free. The attention to detail, prompt assistance, and courteous behavior of the team made us feel genuinely welcomed and well cared for. I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a luxurious stay with impeccable service and hospitality. Truly a five-star experience!

Fort is nice.. Lots of rooms and all rooms are different. Views are awesome. Food was really great . Loved the Rajasthani flavours. Breakfast and dinner buffet had had lot of options (Indian, Continental, Rajasthani ). Staff was courteous and always had a smile on their face .Property has 2 swimming pools as well and theres an half n hr cultural performance in evening in amphitheater. Although was expecting the Rajasthani performace more instead of Indian classical. Rooms are nice with all required amenities and aesthetics of Fort palace. Although in our room the washroom door itself made some strange noise (due to old structure probably) Our room was very near to lift area but yes some rooms can be far this being a multi level fort on a hill side. Overall a nice pleasant experience.

I visited Neemrana Fort yesterday. The fort is really beautiful and quite large, and the food was excellent—truly delicious. My family enjoyed it a lot; there were many varieties, and the dishes had a nice Rajasthani touch. However, the prices were quite high — ₹2,750 per person. The visiting hours were from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. I personally feel that the food price should be around ₹1,500, and the fort visit should cost a maximum of ₹300. It was very expensive, and since it was quite hot, we couldn’t explore much. So, I think they should consider reducing the prices a bit. They should also extend the visiting hours — visitors should be allowed to explore for the whole day, especially considering the high cost. The fort looks even more beautiful at night, but we missed that experience because daytime visits are the only option. I think the management should really consider this point, as the current prices are too high for such limited visiting time and for food

Neemrana Fort Palace (Visited on 28th Sep) I had a very disappointing experience at Neemrana Fort Palace. The entry fee was ₹2750 per person (Sunday charges including lunch), but the visit was nowhere near worth the cost. It was an extremely hot summer day and shockingly, there were no proper water outlets or signboards for drinking water. We had to roam around just to find water. With such high charges, the management should at least provide water coolers on each floor for visitors. The fort itself felt lifeless – no running fountains, no historical artifacts on display, only one room with a swing and some fans. Throughout the fort, fans were not working, so there was no place to sit and relax in the heat. The visiting time allowed is just 2 hours (1 hour for fort view and 1 hour for lunch), which feels very restrictive considering the high fee. At the very least, a few rooms should be open to the public so visitors can experience the property properly. The lunch was extremely ordinary – hard rotis, limited soups (only 2 types), very little variety, and honestly, food you could easily find at small roadside dhabas. The dining space was also small and congested. For such a huge property, there was only one lift which was very inconvenient. Overall, the experience was pathetic and highly overpriced. I left feeling completely dissatisfied. I would never visit again and do not recommend Neemrana Fort Palace to anyone. It is not worth the hype or the money.

Neemrana Fort Palace is a magnificent heritage fort located in Alwar district, Rajasthan, on the Delhi–Jaipur Highway (NH-48). Built in the 15th century by the Chauhan rulers, it is one of India’s oldest living forts. Perched on the Aravalli Hills and spread over nearly 12 acres, the fort offers a breathtaking view of the surrounding landscape. In 1986, the fort was restored and converted into a luxurious heritage hotel. Today, Neemrana Fort Palace beautifully blends history, architecture, and modern comfort. It features over 70 rooms and suites, each designed with royal charm and traditional aesthetics. The property includes swimming pools, lush gardens, a spa, and exciting adventure activities like zip-lining.

I recently stayed at Neemrana Fort Palace to celebrate my wife's birthday, and it was such a memorable experience! From the moment we entered, the welcome felt warm and royal. The fort itself is stunning — perched on the Aravalli hills, spread across acres, and every corner feels like it has a story to tell. Our room was beautifully vintage, with antique furniture, chandeliers, and even a royal name instead of just a number — a true heritage vibe. The property has multiple restaurants and cafés, including a unique Italian cave restaurant, and the buffet was a delightful spread with flavors from North to South India. Though, I personally feel the food (Buffet) could have been a bit more better. The break was nice! Evenings were magical — the hotel organized a Rajasthani folk performance in the amphitheatre, which added so much charm. The palace looks breathtaking during sunrise and sunset, glowing like jewellery, and at night it sparkles with lights. There are also two beautiful pools with amazing views — so don’t forget your swim gear! Overall, Neemrana is the perfect blend of history, culture, and comfort. Highly recommend it if you’re looking for a royal getaway.

Staying at Neemrana Fort Palace was like stepping back in time into Rajasthan’s royal heritage. The architecture is breathtaking, with every corner telling a story of its 15th-century grandeur. The way the fort has been restored is truly commendable — it blends history with modern comfort beautifully. The rooms are unique and full of character, offering stunning views of the Aravalli hills. The staff is warm, courteous, and always eager to make the stay memorable. We especially loved the cultural performances in the evening and the serene pool overlooking the fort walls. It’s not just a stay, it’s an experience — walking through ancient corridors, dining in royal settings, and soaking in the atmosphere of history. Perfect for a getaway, celebration, or simply to feel regal for a few days. A special thanks to Surender Bhadana for a delightful dining experience!!

If you are only visiting the fort, I would advise against it. The cost is exorbitant at 2750 per person on weekends. The facilities provided are limited to a lunch buffet and do not include a water bottle, guide or pamphlets. Visitors are expected to explore the fort independently. I would not recommend visiting this fort for a day trip. I was under the impression that the price would warrant a more comprehensive experience, which was not the case. I am not familiar with the facilities offered at the Neemrana Fort Palace if you wish to stay at Palace.
