San Diego’s Best Burgers | Eater San Diego

"A three-in-one destination, Neighborhood in the East Village houses not one but three different bars including Noble Experiment and Youngblood. While the two other speakeasies require reservations, walk-ins are welcome at Neighborhood, where guests can choose from three burgers during a night out: the OG Hood burger with smashed beef patties, bacon onion jam, roasted garlic aioli, arugula, bleu and gruyere cheese; the Young American with smashed patties, bread and butter pickles, lager onions, and American cheese; and the vegan Black Bean Soyrizo burger with shaved iceberg lettuce, grilled poblano pico, avocado crema, and caramelized onions. Must-try side: Crispy potatoes make the perfect companion dish — loaded with “animal-style” hood sauce, cheese, caramelized and pickled onions." - Roxana Becerril

The whole team made this place really stand out. From the bartenders to the cooks bringing out the food. The vibe is casual but classic. The portions were perfect. Drink prices were fair. The food was plated by someone who cares. Cannot recommend this place enough.

This pub is located in the Gaslamp. It holds two speakeasies: Young blood and Noble Experiment. They both are super cute but Noble Experiment is a lot smaller. The food here was AMAZING! It is a bit costly but totally worth it. We ordered old fashions, smash burger, short ribs, pierogies, and blooming onions. The pierogies and onions are definitely shareable—very huge portions! Everything was stellar and so was the service! Loved it!

Only my second time coming in since they renovated. Last time I only had drinks. The food was excellent. Not a lot of seating so timing is tricky.

Always enjoy the food and my dining experience at Neighborhood. This particular time I got the short rib, I did like it. The meat was very tender, it just didn’t knock out the park. Also pairing with vegetables is missing. I would recommend the dish. Nice service and atmosphere.

Visited this place for my birthday and was lucky enough to get a table after a few minutes of waiting! From the outside to the inside and even the bathroom you are simply transported to surgery era! Amazing atmosphere and good service. Had the signature hamburger with some fries! The speakeasy can not be described… you have to experience it for yourself…

Google
Fantastic time here, had the pleasure of trying Pliny the Younger which is a huge win. Also had the Brussels sprouts which were delicious, a great steak frites plate, delicious burger, and fantastic toffee dessert. Vibes were immaculate. Prices are some of the best around for what is offered.

The Hood is one of our favorites when we are in San Diego. Whomever dreamt up this place with the 2 speakeasies in the back was next level. Thoroughly enjoy being able to get a draft of Pliny the Elder. The Bone Marrow starter is simply the best. Although from several states away, we have been able to hang here multiple times. It’s lively with a simple menu. Perfect quick bite or stick around and enjoy the many cocktails. We have never even been to either of the speakeasies, we enjoy the front bar/pub.

Wow! This place is amazing. The Atmosphere, the food and the service was top notch. We were a walk in party of 6 on a busy night and they did their best to get us in and the service continued till we walked out the door. Our server Rose was amazing and the whole weekend was made because of our experience here. We didn't get a chance to visit the two Speakeasys but we will be back. Great Job!

Yelp
Have to be honest, I have been a GM in downtown San Diego for over a year and this is my go to nightcap spot. Admittedly, I know I'm in the industry and I regularly enjoy great cocktail bars over divey ones so I'm their bread and butter client, but neighborhood slaps. Maybe I've been enough that I get great service along with great music, but idk, I always feel taken care of and noticed. Also, there hasn't been a single cocktail that I've asked for off menu that they can't make. Garrick, Quentin, David, etc all make what I ask for and if they don't know it they just Rolodex it or ask me what specs are and make it on the fly. That's freaking a cocktail experience. Just be cool, know what you like, and don't be condescending. I swear, cocktail bars like Neighborhood can hit all the marks if you have the right attitude and expectations.

Yelp
Came here on a Friday night around 8 or 9 and it was packed! They have food till late which is a draw in the area. I was a little intimidated by the amount of people since it's a small space, but the bartenders and waitresses were super nice and completely unfazed by everyone making do with standing room only. Initially we were waiting to get into Noble Experiment, but a table opened up and we were content to stay there and get some small bites. I had the game day special since the Padres had just played. The hot dog was good! It came with a beer and this medicinal tasting shot/digestive which I did not like though haha. There's a good selection of beers for $8-10 and cocktails for $15. Food was decently priced $20 ish? I'd like to come back again when it's less crowded!

Yelp
Walking in, Neighborhood is a fairly small and intimate space with a dark/moody vibe. There's no host stand/area marking where you should wait, and so after standing there for a second, someone came and mentioned that the bar is all open seating (first-come) and that for tables they wrote our name down and would call us back/or we could hang in the back area until a table opened up. Although we didn't have to wait too long, this initial set-up was a bit strange to say the least. The pierogies were a great starter! A lot of flavor from the sour cream and the potatoes. I really liked this one a lot. We also got the Bing Bread which is low-key one of the best things we had! For only $5 don't sleep on this. Airy, fluffy, doughy, it's hard to explain the texture. Maybe an airy pita-like pizza dough? Amazing and a must get. The hood burger was solid and I appreciated the cheese blend of bleu and gruyere. It gives it that extra funk that I don't typically go for but I still enjoyed. The bolognese was a classic home-cooked type of comfort that hit the spot. One other thing that I appreciated were the prices for the items we got. Considering this is a CH Project restaurant, our meal was definitely worth the price and would happily come back.

Yelp
NOT a kid- friendly restaurant Menu is limited but everything we had was delicious! Blooming onion Bolognese pasta yum Simple wedge salad... perfect The service was super friendly and the place had an old time feel. More of a bar setting but there were booths for groups of 6 or more
google avatar

John L.

Yelp
Heads up that there is limited seating so be prepared for a wait. If your phone signal is weak, there is a chance they might not reach you with a text message. Went to Noble Experiment first and didn't end up receiving the text measage. Service was very friendly. Bar area is a bit cramped for full meals. Blooming onion was better than Outback's version. It comes with a pair of scissors as the onion is not cut all the way through. Brussels and Hood burger were great, but the real surprise were the fries. Short rib tasted burnt.

Yelp
Really solid option in downtown San Diego! We came with a group of 4 on a Friday night at 7 and didn't have a wait but it quickly filled up shortly after. The space inside is definitely reminiscent of other CH restaurants but a darker, moodier vibe. A lot of people were walking through to go to the two speakeasies in the back too. They have mostly cocktails and beer for drinks. They do have single options for wine by the glass and a few more bottle options. For beer I was impressed that they had a few sour beer options! You definitely don't see those as much. For food we split the blooming onion and my partner and I got the chicken sandwich and the bean burger. The blooming Onion was pretty good! I like that it's more onion forward than onion rings. The sandwich and burger comes with fries which we weren't expecting. My partner loved his chicken sandwich and said it did come with some heat from the Nashville sauce. The bean burger had really good flavor but was completely falling apart when I was eating it.

Yelp
It's been a year since I've last visited, but since I'll be visiting SD again, I'm here to write a very late review. To get to Noble Experiment, you go through the Neighborhood. We had time to kill AND I was hungry so we decided to sit at the bar and order some bone marrow. The bone marrow was delicious! I love when my lips are so oily and glossy from bone marrow. Interior was cute and I remember our server and bartender being so engaging and sweet. Would def come back!
google avatar

Yelp
The perfect date night - I wasn't super in love with the loud music but it was a vibe. It was romantic with the dark lighting, cool low tones of light, two secret speak easy bars in the back if you can get it while You are there go there first to see how long the wait is and then sit down for some delicious food. Obsessed with the blooming onion, had the Cobb salad with no prosciutto for vegetarians and it was simply yet super flavorful. All around great treat
google avatar

Samuel A.

Yelp
Neighborhood absolutely slaps. If I lived in SD I'd be a regular here for sure. Fantastic beer list with some sweet to go options, elevated grub (Hood burger w/ Gruyère + arugula is stupid good), and one of the best store picks of Weller antique 107 I've ever had. Only downside I'd say is the space is fairly small and can get packed very quickly. Service was attentive and food and drinks came out fast. They knocked the vibes out of the park. Seems like every CH spot I visit has its own unique feel and look, but you can still tell it's undeniably a CH spot. Another must visit in SD around the Gaslamp quarter.

Yelp
It was our first time here the vibe is so cute! It is very dim inside and not alot of seating. But a super cool place to grab dinner or drinks with someone. We ended up ordering to go cause the music was a little loud and we weren't expecting it to be a bar bar. We thought it would be your typical dinner spot. Our server was very nice and helped us out quickly. We ordered the blooming onion, wedge salad with fried chicken and the hood burger. Everything was a 10/10! Even if it was to go. Excited to come back and try other things on the menu!

Yelp
I am actually really disappionted with my experience at this restaurant. For starters when I walked in there was no hostess or a sign that says seat yourself that may have been visible or any staff member to direct you for a seat. I was unsure if I was suppose to seat myself or wait?. I stood standing in a corner by the exit door because the empty tables were dirty and the clean ones were all taken. Finally me and my friend looked akward enough standing there that the bartender said you need a table?. So we sat. Now from the getgo the staff here except for the bartender weren't very pleasant. Very short, very are you ready. Not do you have any questions about the menu?, do you need more time? Etc. My first time here and poor service that's no good. Also I can't believe they DO NOT Have Ketchup!! Thats a first! A little disappionted about that. Who eats fries without ketchup? And don't get me started on the bathroom. The lights are way too dim. I couldn't for the life of me see anything in the bathroom. Was quite awful. Food was good but my experience ruined that.
google avatar

Maya A.

Yelp
Super odd, the place itself is beautiful with lots of good options but the moment I walked in to the moment I sat down felt like pulling teeth. I wanted to grab a drink and most likely food so I let the bartender know. After suggesting an empty table we decided to also grab food. No one showed up for about 25 min at least. I even discovered a speak easy in the back in our in between time. Which looks great! The sour beer I got from the fridge was refreshing and great tasting but I wasn't feeling the other options on the menu. No matter I paid the fees and ordered food. No one came to our table to the point where I went up to the bar to ask to order. When the waitress came by she said she didn't think we wanted food.. even tho we had menus and I also expressed to her team I did. It just felt like our table was pushed aside. I ordered The Mac and cheese was covered in Doritos to the point to where that was all I tasted. The fries were actually great! The burgers were very tasty and fulfilling. The wine was hit or miss. I think I would just come here for cocktails next time and the speakeasy.

Leilani M.

Yelp
Great service even with the place being packed. Staff came over and checked in on us while waiting for the second stop at noble experiment. Dim ambiance with that underground feel and Gadsby gold flair. Enjoyed a few pours in the waiting area with bar stools and countertop along with cider & kombucha which was actually a refresher before the next round. Some interesting bottles displayed fitting with the theme. The stand out was the great service from the staff here.
google avatar

Daniella S.

Yelp
Wanted to love it but not that great. Just another instagram worthy restaurant/bar with very basic food. The bone marrow was okay, and the toast was very greasy. We also got drinks which were pretty okay, but nothing I'd remember. Staff was okay, seems like they have their favorite locals and every one else is chopped liver. We waited over an hour for a table & realized they skipped me .. she said my text did not send & she couldn't reach me. It's a small place you can see me. Besides the annoyance I'd think the food would make up for it, boy was I wrong.

Yelp
How have I not tried this place until just recently? Was in San Diego and decided to try this place after getting drinks at Young Blood. The vibe at Neighborhood is hip. It's pretty chill, food's good. We were able to get a group of 5 seated at one of the booths in the back on a Saturday night. Food ordered: Burger, Blooming Onion, Bolognese, Steak Frites, more burgers. Lots of drinks. You can't go wrong with a blooming onion ever - tastes really good, comes out hot, and you get saaaauce. The Bolognese at Neighborhood was so good that we went home and made Bolognese for the week that same week. Food was great, drinks were great, will be coming back.
google avatar

Hanna K.

Yelp
Great vibe and good food. When we walked in around 8pm on a Saturday, it was not yet busy and we were able to get a seat at the bar. They do have some tables but it is a pretty small bar so there is a higher chance of standing. We got whiskey shots which were $15 each and it was a whole full glass up to the rim of the shot glass. It was a pretty large shot (more like a double shot). We ordered their bone marrow and blooming onion while waiting for our table to be ready at the speakeasy (Noble Experiment). But when we just got our food, we were notified that our table was ready. Noble Experiment will not allow you to bring in the food with you so we had to give our spot to someone else and get on the waitlist again. Keep that in mind if you are at the Neighborhood waiting for your spot at the speakeasy. Now, the bone marrow and the blooming onion were amazing. I would go just to eat them again! They both came out hot fresh out the oven and seasoned perfectly. They were worth every penny.

Yelp
Excellent place! It's part of the consortium empire in San Diego. upscale tavern with excellent food. Great vibe and friendly service. Super loud, at least on a Saturday night. We had roasted carrots to start, and then an excellent steak frites (if you don't want much pink, order it medium well!) and an excellent smash burger. There are two speakeasies in the back - we went to Noble experiment - great fun. The other one (I forget the name) recently got listed in a top 50 bars list, and is reservation only.
google avatar

Francesca C.

Yelp
Good late night spot downtown! Dim ambient lighting, loud music, cool interior. Got there close to midnight on a Thursday and it was still pretty packed, but we were able to find seats at the bar right away. The cocktails were good and strong which is all ya can really ask for! TIP: try the "secret" door behind the beer kegs near the bathroom ;)
google avatar

Yelp
4 stars... Literally moved into the neighborhood, so what could be better than visiting a joint called.. "Neighborhood"! Good local beer options and fun bar scene. Opted for the chicken sando; crispy, saucy goodness...served with fries and pickles...I'm glad I chose this one! Ambiance is speakeasy copacabana, service was prompt and friendly, and prices were in line with area. Such a cool joint right near my new place...I could see myself becoming a regular. This joint makes the list!

Yelp
The Food was so amazing i got the bolognese and my boyfriend got the all American burger 10/10, the vibes were so nice very moody but lively at the same time. The staff was so nice and accommodating!
google avatar

Alex R.

Yelp
The selection of beers was amazing. Had a great meal and loved the atmosphere. I forget our waiters name but he had a short beard and glasses and was very awesome.
google avatar

Veronica V.

Yelp
Small place. Stumbled on it walking around. They seemed to have a large variety of drinks, decent menu, and the food was hot when it came out. Nice place to grab a drink with friends.
google avatar

Valerie T.

Yelp
I haven't been since the remodel in 2021 so it was a huge change to the casual neighborhood restaurant vibe. The upscale warm and moody vibe makes you feel like you're transported to a little hidden gem honoring a wide selection of craft beers, cocktails and drinks that are at center stage as you enter the bar is floor to ceiling lit with low lighting. Reservation is a must as this hot spot has a waitlist all night. Wait time for us was about an hour. With great company time does fly and the music selection drowns out all the chatter and memories being made. They do have a much smaller menu than what I remember. Seating is very limited as the space is small but they made it cozy. The outdoor seating is nonexistent now as the atmosphere has evolved focusing on the more of the bar. On a whim to be spontaneous we tried the caviar bump with a shoot of beer. This is as stated a mix of trashy and class. A dollop of white sturgeon caviar served on your own hand to enjoy. It was I will say an experience that is one and done for me. lol. We also had the steak frites which was cooked perfectly the hanger steak was dripping in rich bone marrow butter that elevated the steak. The fries under were cooked and seasoned perfectly looking for more on the plate after we devoured it. To drink we settled on a mixed berry (bourbon, strawberry, lemon little sugar topped with fresh mint) and a whiskey sour. It worked out placing our name for the Nobel experiment as well but both speakeasy also had a long waitlist. I remember the Nobel experiment more secretive to get into and not being able to just walk in and add my name. Overall on a spontaneous night out we had a great time.
google avatar

Yelp
My friend and I absolutely love this place. We go and get apps and espresso martinis. The food is phenomenal, and the ambiance is amazing, not to mention to two speakeasy's within it that will blow your mind. One of my favorite places to visit when I come to town.
google avatar

Gabriel M.

Yelp
Well crafted food. They take a different approach with their flavor combos and do some really cool things with their dishes. Place looks like an upscale speakeasy; "swanky" maybe?
google avatar

Zakira J.

Yelp
Very cute, rustic theme inside. Also very loud, so if you're looking for a quiet place this isn't it. I would come here just for the blooming onion, it was so yummy! However I wasn't impressed with the bone marrow. I have definitely had better. But overall, the biggest disappointment was that we were told we could wait at the bar until our table was ready and once we were seated at our table we had to wait almost 20+ min until someone came to take our order. The server did apologize and comped our meal in the end which was really nice of him. But sadly, the long wait had resulted in our night not ending well which was very disappointing.

Monica V.

Yelp
Food was fine. We came here after a concert, but we've never been so ignored. I normally tip minimum 20% but I had my husband tip 5%. It felt rude how much they ignored us, especially for San Diego. We got bone marrow, burgers, macaroni, and burrata and a mocktail.
google avatar

Charity V.

Yelp
As an unofficial espresso martini purveyor, I feel that I am qualified to rank these as the actual best espresso martinis. Ever. Josh took amazing care of us - he was so attentive and kind- even when the bar was PACKED. That type of service goes a long way. The food and drinks are incredible and the vibe is elevated and very mellow. We recommend the sausage platter for its variety and eclectiveness. We can't wait to come back!
google avatar

Adrian L.

Yelp
I came here on a Saturday night and it got pretty packed. I got Steak Frites and the Blooming Onion and it was pretty good. The food came out quick. The staff were really nice but the service was okay.
google avatar

Michelle C.

Yelp
To die for bolognese and blooming onion. Cocktails hit every time. We have gone on a slower Monday and a packed post padre Friday night and loved the atmosphere and service both times
google avatar

Jillian B.

Yelp
Enjoyed some good late night eats at Neighborhood recently. It's a buzzy, dimly lit space perfect for date night, or night out with friends. The onion blossom was a great treat reminiscent of my childhood, and the burger was juicy and cooked perfectly. Would recommend!
google avatar

Rebecca N.

Yelp
Great service. Great vibe. Great food. Great drinks. I highly recommend. We have ordered the blooming onion, steak frites, bone marrow and Hamburger helper macaroni and cheese. It was amazing

Anna H.

Yelp
Nice little hidden gem after a late night drive into SD. Staff was super friendly and food was bomb. Also has a cute lil speakeasy, some fallout vibes for sure
google avatar

Aly A.

Yelp
This is a cute lights dim bar/ restaurant I loved the food here . We got the Onion Blossom so delicious it's a must try . We came inside looking for the two speakeasy's located inside which are the Noble Experiment and Young Blood we were fortunate enough to get into Youngblood and we loved it. While waiting we had some drinks at the bar . After we got done with our experience at the speakeasy we came here for a late night snack. There is no food inside the speakeasy's so for food this is the place. The service and food were 10/10 we enjoyed our time here . I loved the vibe ..I would definitely be back when in the area .

Yelp
What a cool little spot to have a night out! The place was packed and waitlist on a Tuesday night so I was a little surprised as it was my first time here but was able to order drinks at the bar while me and my friend waited for a table. The wait list took about 30 mins but we were able to stay inside the whole time. Once seated, I got to ordering the blooming onion as appetizer since I haven't had one of these since eating a a certain Australian themed steakhouse and it looked amazing. The servers and bar staff were attentive for it being so busy. I heard the other speakeasy bar, Noble Experiment was just on the other side of this place and I have plans to visit there soon. I enjoyed this night out, food and drinks were great and so was this dessert brownie sundae. Loved it here!
google avatar

Natalie C.

Yelp
I LOVE the neighborhood! I went here early on a weekend and just walked in for a table for 4, which was totally fine. We started the night with caviar bumps which was so so fun! Their food was absolutely delicious! I highly suggest getting the burrata as an appetizer. I also loved the crispy potato because it was a little animal fries vibe. We drank espresso martinis which were so good. This bar is a very cool vibe and is super nice on the inside. Pro tip! When you get there or your food arrives, follow the bathrooms to the secret door and put your names in at the speakeasy. This is a treat!
google avatar

Bob B.

Yelp
Unfortunately, this place is kind of small as it is very popular and for good reason. A very good menu, staff, drinks, and the coolest backroom speakeasys I have visited. The speakeasy requires a reservation but so worth it with mixologists creating drinks and a very cool vibe.
google avatar

Jackie B.

Yelp
Arrived downtown a little too early for the Chew the Scene event and looked up yelp for a nearby bar and stumbled upon this gem. Seems very inconspicuous hole in a wall, but once you step in, you're immediately enveloped by speakeasy magical vibe. Cute little date night spot. We were greeted by every staff and were seated in less than 5 minutes. We both had old fashioned and their blooming onions. By far the BEST old fashioned we've had and their blooming onions is so addictive. Definitely will not the be the last time here.

Yelp
Thank you to the wonderful staff at neighborhood I wish I got names, but everyone working the night of January 4th made my aunt and I's night. Amazing customer service, from the waiter, bartender, hostess in noble experiments, and the bartenders in the speak easy as well. The atmosphere is really cool, definitely fits other CH vibes. I loved the skull wall inside the speak easy, as well as the intimate lighting. This would be a really cool, great date spot. Or a night with the bro's lmao. The food was also amazing. Perogies and animal style smashed potato's were so good. I'm still dreaming about coming back and eating more lol. Pretty decent prices as well. We're participating in dry January and had some really tasty mocktails that made drinking non-alcoholic drinks actually really fun lol. I can't wait to come back, everything was so fun.
google avatar

Coleen R.

Yelp
Neighborhood in East Village was an excellent pick for a casual stop on a weekday night! We walked in for a few drinks and a light snack before dinner and had a truly memorable experience. Service was amazing! Bartenders at this spot know how to make a great quality cocktail. I started with a margarita, which was well-crafted, and then got to try a unique martini riff they were experimenting with--a savory twist that really stood out. The creativity behind the drinks was impressive and added to the fun vibe of the evening. We also tried the pierogies, which had a delicate, light flavor that perfectly complemented the drinks. It was just the right bite to tide us over before dinner. This spot has a great atmosphere and is ideal for enjoying creative cocktails and light bites. We'll definitely be back!

Yelp
I spent Easter 2024 weekend in San Diego, which is one of my favorite places to have a weekend getaway. There are so many options to choose from and I'm glad we decided to go to this location. The ambiance is a hipster/speakeasy style which is so up my alley. The service took a while because it was crowded and it is not a huge location, however the bartenders were hard working and friendly despite being so busy. I was so bummed they were out of the blooming onion because that is one of the main reasons why we chose this location. We ended up ordering the steak frites and pierogis which was delicious and filling! Chef cooked the meat a perfect medium! Soooo, I suppose I will just have to come back for the blooming onion! Thank you San Diego!
google avatar

Ed-man H.

Yelp
What a Find, this Speakeasy checks all the buttons! Great vibe, drinks, food, and service. The decor really hit as and the custom glasses, secret room, and the vibe. The steak Frites along with the side of bread was one of the best. Steak was cooked perfect and the sauce and fries were great too.
google avatar

Alex D.

Yelp
Decided to try something different in downtown with my friend last week and so happy we stumbled upon this place! The vibes and ambiance were immaculate! We were able to snag the last two seats as we got there right before the dinner rush! Even though it was busy, service was fast and I wish I had gotten our waitress's name because she was amazing! Now for the star of the show, the food! The blooming onion was the main reason we wanted to dine in and it was seasoned perfectly with black garlic ranch to dip, but I am so glad we decided to order more food! My friend had the burger which was yummy but that BONE MARROW! *chefs kiss* Can't wait to come back and try other dishes!
google avatar

Rachel W.

Yelp
The restaurant itself could use some work. The food came out cold so that was a disappointment. The service was also slow and I had to ask for water 3x. However the two bars in the back make up for what lacks in the front.
google avatar

Ernie B.

Yelp
The is a great place, you have to know it's there to find it. Walked in an really enjoyed the vibe and atmosphere. Sat down and got to business. Ordered a couple drinks off the menu, but actually was pretty hungry. First ordered the blooming onion, then Mac and cheese as starters, then ordered the STEAK FRITES - Grilled Hanger Steak, Bone Marrow Butter, Gremolata Fries, Sauce au Poivre Wow it was awesome. Then CHARRED BONE MARROW - PARSLEY, LEMON ZEST, CAPERS, SEA SALT, BRIOCHE TOAST, this was good just a tad salty and would have preferred fresh corn tortillas instead of the Brioche. Only regret didn't have enough room for dessert the THE BROOKIE SUNDAE WARM BROWNIE / CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE MIX, CREME FRAICHE GELATO TOPPED WITH SALTED CARAMEL, I will be back to try this and definitely some other things on the menu. It was a wonderful experience.

Yelp
At 6pm on a Friday this place was packed but we didn't wait long. Got an awesome table and people watched. Mostly younger attractive crowd but whatever. Service was really good, super friendly. Food choices were tops! Blooming onion, steak tartare, wedge salad, short ribs and sausage platter all hit just right. Plus amazing cocktails and they have several Russian River Brewery bottles including my beloved, Pliney the Elder. Great place, cool vibes, decent prices, and great portions will have us coming back often. "The only certainty is that nothing is certain." -Pliny the Elder
google avatar

Crystal K.

Yelp
Neighborhood is a great local bar in East Village! It has a speak easy vibe but a local feel. The ambiance is classy and the drinks are delicious. There is fantastic variety of beers on a constant rotation. They have had my favorite beer Pliny the Elder every time I've been there. You can also purchase bottles of Pliny the Elder to go. I haven't tried the food or the small speakeasy in the back yet, but they are both definitely on my list. The only downside is that the bar gets so busy it is hard to have a connection with the bartender. Overall great local spot!

Yelp
Another new local favorite! I had my first ever burger here and I've been back for my second ever burger. lol Though I've heard the chicken sandwich is delicious! Great staff. Love the ambiance and look forward to working my way through the menu.

Yelp
I was told that this place is a must when visiting SD. I also heard it super hard to get seats cause it's always packed! I went on a Tuesday night and I lucked out cause it wasn't packed and was able to get a table. I love the interior to this speakeasy. It brought me back in time to the prohibition era. I ordered the old fashioned and it was very strong but tasty! I only found out about this after I left, but apparently there is a secret room with a drink pro fixe menu that is based on what kind of alcohol you like. Bummer that I didn't realize it was a thing until after! I'll need to come back.
