Pali Wine Co. Flips into Neighborhood Winery in LA’s Arts District - Eater LA

"After seven years in the Arts District, Pali Wine Co. is flipping into Neighborhood Winery on Thursday, February 29. The bar will feature wines from husband and wife team Nick and Carmen Perr, alongside winemaker Aaron Walker. Neighborhood Winery specializes in natural wines made with grapes grown in California’s Central Coast and produces varietals including a pét nat with chardonnay grapes, and a red with Sangiovese grapes. For Nick, Neighborhood Winery continues his family’s wine legacy. His parents Tim and Judy founded Pali Wine Co. in 2005, while his great-grandfather was a butcher by day and a winemaker by night in Flatbush, Brooklyn. With the opening of the tasting room, he’s looking to serve the type of natural wines he and his friends enjoy drinking. Expect a full menu of minimal intervention options available by the bottle or the glass including a sparkling pét mac made in collaboration with Benny Boy Brewing, plus a chilled carbonic red, a skin-contact pinot gris, and more. All glasses of wine will cost $16 (or $12.80 for Neighborhood Winery club members). In addition to wine, the tasting room will offer two types of homemade vermouth, grape juice, and kombucha. The reopening will also bring an updated food menu inspired by the New York Jewish deli flavors that Nick was raised on. Look forward to dishes like matzo from the Matzo Project with borscht butter, latkes served with creme fraiche and apple sauce, a Reuben, a fish sandwich, savory kugel, and schnitzel. As part of the flip, the tasting room received a fresh coat of paint, as well as a new collection of custom art for its walls. Nick also sourced three new tables made from 100-year-old Douglas fir wood planks that were reclaimed from Los Angeles homes. Two of these will serve as communal tables, while one will host a bevy of curated goods for purchase such as candles, home goods, pantry staples, and more. The opening of Neighborhood Winery is part of a wider moment in Los Angeles where wine bars are turning away from their more stuffy roots to become low-key hangouts with new and old-school wine varietals. A younger generation is taking the reigns of Los Angeles’s wine culture and steering it to be something more sustainable, and exciting, for the future." - Rebecca Roland

Google
Good wine? Here's the spot. I LOVED this wine bar. We came in the afternoon for flights before dinner. I wanted to try Californian wines, and they had 4 different options for flights ranging from natural wines to premium wines. My sister and I went for different flights, and they both were large, and great choices of wine. On average, you get the equivalent of about 3-4 glasses of wine in the 6 different tastings. There's an outdoor terrace if it's nice outside, and also an indoor area for cooler weather. The service was excellent! The waiter was very knowledgeable about the wines they served, but also about wines in general. He made some great suggestions for us and we enjoyed every glass.

Google
Such a good wine tasting bar, offering a good selection of their own wine. Interesting notes. Friendly staff and a great atmosphere. Some snacks, incl. cheese platter perfect to share to keep hunger away.

Google
We loved our wine tasting here! They welcomed us warmly and we were absolutely spoiled. We had a fantastic time. Also we are vegan and the vegan options for snacks were great!

Google
Great experience! Came in today with my wife and grabbed a few glasses wine. Try the off the menu cashew Mac and cheese and be sure to get a glass of the fiddlesticks-by far my fav red If you can sit with Brian, do so! He’s amazing! He actually signed us up for our membership. Love having this spot in our neighborhood!

Google
This is a solid spot for a glass and the vibe is very chill. Solid artwork and seating inside with a great selection of wines. Next time I’d like to try their food. I stopped by for an event and I’d definitely come back again. Parking is limited to the street but I’d recommend an Uber.

Google
Good vibe, wines are generally sophisticated if over-priced, and their wine club sounds pretty cool. Chill staff and good music, this is a mellow place to sample some tasty Cali wines and chill in the arts district.

anne

Google
It’s worth a visit if you’d like to try a flight of different wines. Food was good and ambiance was great with live music.

Google
Love their wine and the food was great. But what I don't understand, and the reason I may not go back, is that they charge a corkage fee if you buy a bottle and open there. I've never had that at a winery. At a restaurant, sure, when you bring in your own wine. But to charge your customers to open your own wine that they just bought from you is ridiculous. The server actually told us that their wine is made to go, like they don't want you to stay there and drink or something. Weird.

Yelp
First time at Neighborhood Winery and it's definitely a casual and chill wine bar in Arts District. The interior is clean and minimalist with a spacious patio area that's dog friendly. Customer service at the bar is A+ but it's mostly self-serve (order at bar, find a seat, and grab your own water cups). I tried a glass of the 2023 Pet Mac, sparkling wine, which I thought was just okay. Heavy pour for $16 though! Did not try food so cannot comment.

Yelp
We came on a Tuesday evening a bit slow how we liked it we were double dating with my bro and his new gf so wanted a quiet place to chat Alot of natural wines its trending so I get it I didnt want to let the server know I dont really like the natural part so they do have "basically like natural" wine which I enjoyed much it was a vintage from california delicious!! a great place for after a date they did do a name change from pali but basically just a rebrand I think its a great place for beginner wine drinkers very knowledgable staff and alot of good local california wine if thats what you're looking for!

Yelp
Located in the popular Art District area, you can roam around and get some beer, some pie or better yet, some wine at Pali Wines. But wait, it gets better... they have happy hour Monday through Friday (yep, even on Fridays!) 4-6pm. Not only that but they are also very dog friendly and have a super welcoming staff! Their happy hour offers a variety of tap wines (red, white, chilled), meatball sliders, a delicious grilled cheese and hummus to share for a decent price. Don't want wine? No worries, they have sparkling water, soda and also some beer available. The staff is attentive, super friendly, plenty of seating space and most importantly, as a dog owner.. they allow your dog. The staff gave my dog a nice piece of cheese and then we were all happy. Great place to hang out with your friend/s, come work or even read. The atmosphere is super chill, comfy seats, with delicious wines and food to keep you happy any day of the week. This place really won me over and worth the bit of a hassle to find parking around that area.

Yelp
Came for a wine class and the sommelier/wine maker was so passionate & smart Half of the wines I tried were incredible and the other half weren't my taste If it wasn't so far from me and the parking sitch wasn't so shitty, I'd be here more often and would prob sign up for their wine club
google avatar

Yelp
Came here on a Friday night, it's a laid back spot. Good place to grab a bite & a nice glass of wine. The star of the night was the mushroom flatbread. The goat cheese complimented the figs & paired nicely with the mushrooms and arugula. We were impressed! Thank you for the friendly service.

Yelp
What a lovely and bright spot! Their market items are lovely and the wines are delicious. This is a wonderful little Arts District spot to catch up with friends.

Yelp
Located in Arts District, Neighborhood Winery is a casual wine bar. We came here on Saturday night to try their wine flight. For $20 per flight, we got 3 small glasses of wine to try. I was hoping the wine flight was cute like the ones I saw on Yelp photos, but their menu did change. The table seating wasn't my favorite as spaces were a bit tight. However, we did enjoy the wine! Service was friendly, but we had to go to the bar if we needed something. Pours seem inconsistent with each table's flights. In general, my experience was underwhelming.
google avatar

Wilson Y.

Yelp
A great upper-casual spot, good for a quick wine tasting with friends or even a date with someone special! The wine choices were very diverse and all very good, depending on your flavor preferences. Service was quick and friendly. I would come back again!
google avatar

Kim D.

Yelp
A lovely wine bar where you can enjoy a glass or a flight. I came with my friend and we had a great time. We aren't so knowledgeable about wine, but the people here were able to answer all of our questions. Along with our flights, we got a charcuterie board, roasted beet salad, and the jambon beurre sandwich. The charcuterie board was great, but nothing out of the ordinary. We LOVED the roasted beat salad. Definitely our favorite of the night. The jambon beurre was also really delicious. Fun atmosphere, great service, you can't go wrong with this place.

Lois J.

Yelp
Love the ambience and the workers very nice when we went with my friends on a Sunday. Parking is probably the only hindrance as you have to pay $5-10 for public parking or try to find street parking. They also have classes that I saw a group taking next to us. We tried their wine sampler which came in 3 small glasses and also ordered their cheese board & dessert.

Yelp
Love this place first time there . They do have member discount and benefits . Place is clean variety of wine and some appetizers that is good I had the sparking Chardonnay which was perfect for hot weather and had the mushrooms pate it was delicious. Service was great. Totally worth the experience

Yelp
One of my go-to wine bars in LA (as there are not too many); found out there is a bigger Pali Wine bar in OC so I am definitely going to check that one out also next time I am in the OC area. I love that they have small plates here as well as a "seasonal" menu of wines - so you have your goto choices but can always try and taste some new vino as well. The staff is friendly and attentive- the outside patio is new (thanks to the pandemic) and the interior decor is so cute. A great place to just catch up for a Ladies' night out or a date night with your special someone.

Yelp
Service good. Wine okay. Board and chips and dip were sub par. Expensive for what it is...Might try again because their happy hour looked solid but I'm hesitant. Staff is excellent.

Yelp
I've been coming here for about two years ... Yes, I recommend a lot of the vibe and the people are super nice. Great customer service.
google avatar

Leslie C.

Yelp
Great day, sipping wine and eating delicious food outside in their shaded patio area. Spacious and spread out. Wonderful and attentive service. We tried their frozen wine, which was refreshing and we really enjoyed their sparkling rosé. We also had some delicious peppers stuffed with goat cheese, and burrata with honey. Both were fantastic! I definitely want to come back and eat more food and drink more drinks. It's in the arts district, so it's in a vibrant area with shops and restaurants. Parking can be tricky so you just have to have patience and be willing to walk a bit. Something always opens up. Lots of meters and street parking. Paid lots too.

Yelp
Happy new year!!! I will say first, that 2022 was amazing for my yelping journey, but my New Year's resolution is to spend less money on food (im so happy they renewed my elite status). This first review of the 2023...... Pali Wine...... a vibeeeee. I enjoyed it, and the server was really nice and gave great advice on the wine selection. I didn't try any of their food though. I had my fried order the wine cause she was more experienced in wine tasting tham I was. She order us flighst where we tried 4 different wines. (I'll update it later with the ones i tried). The location is very active on the weekends and parking is a bit tough. This is definitely a date location but also are good for groups. A classy way to get drunk.
google avatar

Ella S.

Yelp
Great casual spot in the Art District. Lovely patio to sit outside and taste wine. I was really impressed with their selection. I allowed them to surprise me on two of the flight options. Their natural wines are a must try and unique. I would return to spend more time here!
google avatar

Yelp
Cute little wine spot located in the arts district. I stumbled into this place while on a walk and we decided to go in and grab a glass of wine. They offer happy hour specials and have a good selection of wines and appetizers. Very nice ambience and a good place to do some wine tastings or hang out with some friends. Will be back next time I'm in the area.
google avatar

Ruzanna S.

Yelp
Lovely place. The food was magnificent. Also I tried really good Chardonnay. They also gave me to try complementary Pinot
google avatar

Austin C.

Yelp
I'm no wine connoisseur, but I have been drinking more wine than beer lately and I can confidently say that the wines here are not that good. I first went to Pali Wine many years ago at their Anaheim location and I remembered nothing, so I decided to give this location a try. It's safe to say that I remembered nothing because nothing here was memorable.
google avatar

Pierre R.

Yelp
I'm pretty disappointed with this place. I've lived in the neighborhood for a few years and I have avoided coming here until today. I assumed it was overpriced and inauthentic. It turns out I was right. We ordered the wine flight and the charcuterie board. The wine flight was ok. The waitress told us it was a natural wine flight with no nitrates but that wasn't correct at all. Natural wines have a bit of a sulfer smell and these didn't. The charcuterie board seemed as if it was assembled with Costco ingredients. Bread wasn't toasted, the prosciutto was dry and the cheese selection was sub par. I'm sorry to be so harsh but $110 for a wine flight and a bad charcuterie is not with it.
google avatar

Abraham M.

Yelp
I wouldn't recommend it to someone who wants loads of wines to choose from cuz the menu is small, but it's a nice place for dates and relaxing . Parking is weak but u can definitely expect that in the arts district. Need more food choices but what they had was ok. I would never pay $8 for almonds but yea. Great solid wines . Need more on the menu tho. More rose , more sparkling . Tbh for me it's 3/5 but I have them 5/5 . They also didn't check on me after I sat down and bought my wine . They checked on bigger tables as I was alone .
google avatar

Grace H.

Yelp
I've heard so many great things about this place and I can see why. The wine, the ambience, the staff all great. We had our dog with us and they were really accommodating (even brought her some water). Also, the set up outside on the patio is a LOT BETTER than sitting on the inside. Try to get a seat outside if you can. I found out through reading some reviews but found out you can purchase by bottle too. If it's your first time here I'd recommend you try the wine flight so you can get a taste of their selection, but if you know what you like, just get a bottle. I do wish their food selection was a bit more diverse. They only have charcuterie boards or snacks like nuts and bread. I also wished they didn't give us blue cheese for our board but that's personal preference (I hate blue cheese). The Burrata was amazing I would get it again for sure. All in all this is a really great place to have some wine and finger snacks. If you plan on coming on a weekend make sure you reserve 24 hours in advance!
google avatar

Kimberly I.

Yelp
I've been coming here for years and the service and wait time is always great. This spot is located near a really popular street in the arts district. I would avoid going on the weekends unless you are meeting a big crowd and are ok to wait. Since it is a really popular street with many bar options, you may have to wait on certain days to be seated. This is the only option for wine around this area so be sure to check out their flights. It has many vegetarian options and it's also has a beautiful view of DTLA in the Arts District!

Nicole R.

Yelp
Been a long time member of Pali -- don't mind the rebrand and glad we can still get Pali wines but REALLY miss the bolognese, barstools, beef tartare & bring back the games .... Especially Guess Who!!!!

Bill M.

Yelp
Amazing atmosphere, bartender Al was amazing. Pretty much the place is low key good vibes and the beer is great. Arcade games on one side, patio and the whole industrial park scene works for Art District Brewing.
google avatar

Nataly V.

Yelp
Had been wanting to give this place a try and finally did yesterday! So glad we made it during their Happy Hour, 4-6. They had a good selection of tap wines for $7 and some food items. We tried the HH grilled cheese and it was sooo good! I also tried a couple different wines, they were each great and enjoyed them all. Our experience was elevated with the service provided by Ana Maria and Brian. They were so awesome and really made our time spent at the bar truly enjoyable. This is a wonderful spot with really cool art, good wine, good food and good people! Can't wait to go back!
google avatar

Andre B.

Yelp
Good quality wine they also have a charcuterie board and good snacks on the menu highly recommend. They also do speed dating events which is cool for the folks that need to pay $20 to talk to the opposite sex. I personally just bought a glass of wine for less.
google avatar

Vivian A.

Yelp
Social distancing is enforced at this establishment. All of the staff wears a mask. All customers are expected to wear a mask too. They also wear gloves. There are some hand sanitizers available for customers to use. This establishment is available for take outs and has some outdoor and indoor seating available with limited capacity. They are also sanitizing in between customers. While I was wine tasting with my friends two months ago, I asked if they had any special offers and they weren't offering any at the moment. They also do not allow pets in their establishment. I took one star off because I have to say that their cheeseboard was bland unfortunately. But I guess it is what it is since COVID-19 affected their business. The staff were super nice and frequently checked in on us. Great service. Overall, it was a good experience wine tasting at Pali Co.

Marcus B.

Yelp
Dan Mekpong is a real charmer & I had the best time talking to him about my new favorite show "Sons of Anarchy"-- in all seriousness, this guy can talk about anything & his inspired professionalism was very striking.
google avatar

Victor K.

Yelp
Great find in the arts district. Cool interior as well the outside area. Very good wines. I recommend the different flights they offer. Service was good and friendly.
google avatar

Erine Camille R.

Yelp
It was our first time and it was perfect! We made reservations ahead of time. Great for big groups we easily had 15 or so people in our group. The server was very attentive and even remembered my wine and asked if I wanted another later. Snacks were delicious! We did the 7 choice charcuterie board, Mac & cheese and griddled cheese. My choice of wine was chenin blanc. The dj for the night was BOMBBBB playing 90's hip hop and r&b setting the tone for a good vibe! I would def come here again. We were here for a couple hours and had the best time. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Super cute spot in the Arts District serving some quality wines. I've walked by Pali numerous times, but never actually stopped in. However, when the line at Arts District Brewing got too long one weekend afternoon, my friends and I decided to switch from a beer to wine mentality and check this place out. There's both indoor seating as well as an outdoor patio that gets partial shade. If you want to sit inside (aka not melt), it seems like reservations are the way to go. They serve glasses, bottles, and wine flights plus a small selection of food. The service can be a little slow when busy, but they're super friendly and will let you try a wine on tap if you ask. On that note, make sure to ask about their wines on tap, as it's quite extensive. If you're looking for some easy drinking, I would suggest going with their natural pinot on tap. But it's really up to you and what you're feeling! My friends tried an orange and a chardonnay and both were tasty as well. We got the deluxe cheese + charcuterie board as well to share, which was a nice addition to the table. Nothing to write home about, but rarely is that a case for a cheese board (at least in my opinion). Parking is typical Arts District (read: street parking). Do yourself a favor and either walk or rideshare so you can imbibe to your hearts content.
google avatar

Mark M.

Yelp
If you are looking for a wine bar with CA focused wines mostly from the central coast in a chill and relaxing environment then look no further. The wine shop is very clean and the service is incredibly attentive and friendly.
google avatar

Katie C.

Yelp
Made a reservation through OpenTable over this past weekend and I had such a great time! There's ample outdoor seating and if you opt to dine inside there's still plenty of space. My friend and I ordered our own wine flights and a cheese board to share. Our server was super friendly and very knowledgeable about the wines we were drinking. I ended up buying a bottle of chardonnay and they comped one of my tasting flights for it!
google avatar

Ashley C.

Yelp
This is our 3rd visit to Pali wine Co. This is also our second time being lucky enough to be taken care of by Dan. He has gone above and beyond what was expected. Dan has excellent recommendations and is extremely knowledgeable on all wines. Dan has recommended multiple types of wines and all have been amazing recommendations. His knowledge and hospitality continue to bring us back in to try the new flavors. Additionally, all the staff has been exceptionally well in treating us in a timely manner while providing the best recommendations possible.

Yelp
Nearly two years ago, I joined their wine club during the pandemic, with a special subscription for natural wines. They charged me $120, and sent me an email to come pick up the wine. When I went to pick up the natural wine, it wasn't there, and they pulled completely different wine to give me. I was told that all club orders are first come first served, and they ran out before I got there. I said I only wanted what I was charged for, and if they didn't have it, I wanted a refund. After a week of arguing with the club manager over email, I got my refund. I immediately asked her to cancel my membership, and she claimed she did. Since that time, I've been charged 3 more times for a wine club membership, and only received wine once. I have emailed, called, and gone to the store. I am always told my membership has been canceled, and yet, I keep getting charged. Just left the 3rd VM for the most recent charge, and have yet to hear back. IF YOU ARE READING THIS, BEWARE, PALI WINE CO. IS A CRIMINAL ENTERPRISE AND A SCAM!

Yelp
Came by on a Sunday at 1pm and there was no wait. I booked a res through Opentable but it was pretty slow and they took walk ins. The inside is really cute and they have a great outdoor setup as well. I had no issue finding street parking. I opted for sitting at the bar since I was waiting for a friend. The employees here are very friendly and provided great service. They have a wide variety of wines which was fun to try. This would be a cute date spot or place to catch up with a friend. Really enjoyed coming here and hope to come again soon!
google avatar

Karen L.

Yelp
Pali Wine is a fun place to spend an hour or two wine tasting and noshing. We only did tastings as we came here after dinner in Little Tokyo so can't comment on the food. We tried the Pali Wine Flight and liked all 4 of the wines. I was glad to see that they had some different wines and not the same-old same-old that you see everywhere. There's a happy hour M-TH from 4-7pm when all wines by the glass are $2 off, and on Wednesday's they have $2 off flights. Every Friday they have live music and on Saturdays they have a DJ. Pali Wine is in the heart of the DTLA Arts District so there's lots of other things to do in the area.

Yelp
LOVED this place so much. Thank you Pali Wine Co for making my birthday wine tasting so fun and making our group feel so welcomed. I regret not getting our server's name but he was honestly the best (I just remember he was a Scorpio! Lol) He was so attentive, gave us great recommendations since it was our first time there, and made us laugh. He also gave me a birthday bubbly! 10/10 for great service and fun atmosphere.

Yelp
Service? Terrible Wine? Tragic Parking? Forbidden After risking life, limb, and parking citation we finally managed to park our car and make our way to the restaurant. There was than 10 seated tables and immediately I noticed no one was eating. This was clear foreshadowing for how our night would go. Staff interacted with us appropriately every 15 mins. We were seated and they took our drink order. 15 mins later they took our food order. 15 mins later our drinks came out. 15 mins later we ordered a second round. 15 mins that round came. We we got our first dish it took 15 'mins to get silverware. The first thing we ordered was bread and butter and it was the last thing we received, approximately an hour after we order. The peppers and cheese were amazing but beside that, I didn't enjoy to food or service.

Yelp
I madea a reservation thru open table, so i don't have to wait to get in! They have wine flights tasting option but i and my friend went for bottles. The bottle price starts at 25 which seems pretty reasonable! The server was very knowledgeable for wine recommendations and also explaining on charcuterie board. - if you like not too dry red wine, highly recommend 2017 Jetty - they charge service price $10 per table. This wasn't instructed but we found on the bill when we checked out. The server was very nice and knowledgeable so we didn't feel bad for this hidden charge. - charcuterie board is $35, very well curated! MUST TRY! - the place follows covid-19 rule strictly, enough space between table to table. - there's a heater outside so you won't be too cold Overall, it was a lovely Friday night and i will definitely go back!

Yelp
Pali's outside seating was well done, spaced out, and had the servers practice great social distancing and gear. The wine flights were customized by the servers as we asked them for recommendations. They were delish!! The natural Chardonnay was my favorite. You also can take them home in bottles. The cheese with the salami and crackers were a perfect add on to the wine flights. Definitely recommend this place!
google avatar

Ashley K.

Yelp
Came here on a Sunday afternoon to enjoy some wine with girlfriends on a nice day. We opted to sit inside as it was shaded outside but there's plenty of outdoor and indoor seating! The ambiance is cool but there's so many flies and bugs flying around which kind of grossed me out. Otherwise, good spot for some wine & snacks.
google avatar

Jon N.

Yelp
Nice time sipping wines. They have some good wines, but no real food available. Not sure if it's because of covid or if this is a regular thing for Pali, but only olives and Macedonia almonds (which were delicious) are offered. Service is very friendly. The shop is cute, clean and probably comfortable in regular times. For now, they have constructed an outdoor deck on the curb outside of the store and it's cute but provides absolutely no buffer from the sights and sounds of the neighborhood. There isn't anything the restaurant can do about it, but super loud cars zipping by constantly was a little annoying. They do provide space heaters, but our visit was a particularly chilly and windy day and it was rough. This is still worth a visit anytime to enjoy some wine before or after a restaurant visit nearby, or just to chill with friends.

Yelp
This looked like a fun little wine tasting area we walked by and I grabbed my friends to come in! We aren't huge wine drinkers but I do love white wine. We were able to get the tasting flight for $16, which comes with (I believe it was) 3 glasses. (I visited when they just opened at the end of May but they didn't have a yelp page up yet, and now I've forgotten!!). My favorite two drinks were the Chardonnay and the Rose. I am giving 4 stars because they didn't clean their glasses well. Gross. There were noticeable stains and smudges on the glass/ around the rim and we hadn't even touched it yet. Some of us decided to just use plastic cups and pour the wine into them because of the smudges/ stains. (I used a filter on my photo so it's not too obvious now). I really liked how open this place was. There aren't doors but you can see the whole place out in the open. There are cute little tables and a lounging area also.

Yelp
It was decent. Went to hang out with some of my friends. We got there at opening and got to get a table rapidly. My friends got their drinks very fast and got to rave about it. I had to knock down a stat due to the cheese and meat charcuterie board, it was subpar. The meat tasted a tad off, the only cheese that tasted decent was the brie. By the end though, it wasn't packed, yet the server took quite a bit to get back to us on some items.

Yelp
Such a great experience came here for the first time last month for my girls bday. We went like 30 mins before closing and the 2 employees there were so helpful and kind and didn't rush us at all and even gave us recommendations for restaurants afterwards . I'm not a big fan of wine but this is definitely a cool activity and I will be back !

Yelp
Noticed this place has an outdoor patio close to the street and there was no one there so came here. It did fill up pretty quickly though and when it got busy, we left. I had a glass of the pink stuff (rose) which reminded me why I don't drink rose, the pour was also extremely stingy, mine was 3.5-4oz max. Good thing it wasn't that good to begin with, did have a glass of the pinot grigio and on a warm summer day it was quite good. The taster looked really good and seemed to be of better value than just getting glasses because the flight sizes were more generous. Service was OK and for a casual hang out outdoors, it served its purpose well.
