The Ultimate Guide to Boba in Los Angeles and the San Gabriel Valley

"Neighbors is a mom-and-pop tea shop that has classic boba drinks as well as unconventional options such as the smashed avocado and durian smoothie, which comes with rainbow jelly bits. Neighbors is also the only tea shop that makes a Thai green tea drink with sea salt that is sweet, creamy, and balanced. The tropical fruit tea is one of the shop’s signature beverages; it comes with an array of fresh fruits and is topped off with aloe vera and chia seeds." - Kristie Hang

Google
Great service, great drinks, and great value! In preparation for Teacher Appreciation week, Neighbors Tea House delivered! I was looking to setup a boba bar for our teachers and staff. Stacy was able to help me pick out flavors that everyone would enjoy - milk tea, Thai tea, and tropical fruit tea. Along with honey boba and lychee jelly. I ordered some smaller cups and Neighbors gave me some cute stickers to tie it all together. This was our 3rd time ordering from Neighbors for teacher appreciation and I will be back again next year!

Google
It was a hot day, so I was looking for a refreshing drink. Made my way to Neighbors Tea House for my must grab drink, Smash Avocado and Durian. This drink comes with rainbow jelly, but I also got this was honey boba. This drink had the perfect balance of being sweet and icy. It was very refreshing and exactly what I needed that day. This store is located in a plaza with plenty of parking spot. The store itself was pretty small on the inside and it didn’t really hit inside that day. It wasn’t busy at 5 pm, so I was able to get my order right away. They do accept American Express.

Spoil pendant pudding for the 2nd times from this place. We been going here for so long spend every time $30-70$ each per visit, so disappointed with the way they deal with when we called in to tell them about it , the lady on the phone even said she test it now and it still good and hang up on us too . Won’t go here again . Whoever still buy from this place just be careful and taste the pudding before leave , this make me feel uncomfortable to consume their food now since they are not very responsible who know what they put , they even too cheap to throw the spoil food and sell to their customers that always to try supports them.

Google
This place is pretty fire, they don't have an overly extensive menu and it's drinks they do really well. The parking spaces aren't really meant for larger cars, but it seemed like the plaza wasn't busy enough for it to be an issue if you double up. The staff was very nice and was very patient considering I was placing a large order. Definitely a plus for making all the drinks accurately. Will be back again.

Google
The pictures on the reviews made this place look nicer than it was actually in person. Not much to say other than decent price for a decent amount served. The matcha milk tea was alright. Service was slow. One thing I usually don’t like about tea houses is when they don’t make their boba in house. Instead I saw a bunch of preserved boba . The walls could use a bit of cleaning and they definitely need new seats.

Google
Found this on the way home. It serves boba drink and also something that you usually find in Vietnamese dessert drink place like durian related drink. Overall the drink is tasty but the durian and avocado one a bit pricey.

Google
I feel like their signature drinks have more of a Vietnamese inspiration to them. The avocado durian drink was good, I like its more natural flavor. The CocoTaro based on Taro Puree had a really light sweetness to it I enjoyed. The pandan pudding was like how my grandma used to make it. The place needs to be brighter and better maintained. There were no paper towels in the bathroom.

Google
Fairly priced tea shop, with a great variety of options to chose from! I tried the Green Thai Tea which was an incredible floral twist from the standard Thai Iced Tea. I would highly recommend it for anyone who wants to experience something new, which is also hard to find at usual tea spots. Unfortunately they do not seem to have good milk substitutes so I had to get the tea without any milk.

Yelp
I cannot begin to tell you how yummy the smashed avocado and durian is. It is one of the best drinks here in the SGV. The space is small which is typical of any boba places. I've seen smaller. There are tables and chairs to sit and wait. The only downside is, it gets hot in there. The drinks take time to make, which I appreciate because I don't want them to skimp out on my durian. My drink cost $9.75. I opted for more durian, which was $1.50 more. I think about this drink all the time. Growing up, being Vietnamese, having avocado milkshakes and fresh durian was a staple in our house (still is at my mom's). This drink brings back childhood memories for me. My children now love it too. I can tell you I will be 100% heartbroken if they ever decided to take this away.

Yelp
This store is located at the corner of Lawrence Ave in a small plaza. I went on a Sunday morning, and there was plenty of parking space available and it wasn't busy. If you're looking for a study spot like I was, I wouldn't recommend this store, mainly because it's pretty small and has limited seats. It does have a nice flower backdrop if you want to use for photos inside. The service was straightforward! I got the smashed avocado and durian drink. The drink had a good ratio of durian, avocado, and jelly inside. If you want boba with your order, make sure to come after 12:30pm, since it wasn't available in the morning. Overall, I would definitely recommend my drink (make sure to mix well) and would come back to try their other drinks in the future.

Yelp
A little boba shop in the neighborhood. Lavender tea was okay, a little too strong tea flavor on it for my liking. Durian avocado tea doesnt have enough durian chunk. It just have durian smell and the sweet taste to it. Overall, i think it was okay.

Yelp
The best Durian Smoothie! It's our place when craving a durian dessert. We get the durian smash and it comes with big chunks of durian and flavored jelly. My mom absolutely love this. The place is clean and usually busy too. They also Have a variety of boba drinks too and avocado smoothies as well.

Yelp
This is the spot for the avocado smoothie The parking is so easy with a spacious lot. The boba shop is small with 1 table so it's standing room only. It has really cool flower wall tho. Service is good with a cashier and a couple of workers making drinks. V quick. Overall: will return for the avocado smoothie

Yelp
My Professor Chang bought my classmates and I coffee from this location and it was AMAZING! All my classmates were amazed on how delicious it tasted. I live pretty far from this location but I will always be coming back for more. 1000/1000 !!
google avatar

Yelp
The drinks here are pretty decent. I got the tropical fruit tea (one of their signature drinks) and my cousin got a house milk tea. The cashier said that popular drinks are the signature drinks. I liked the fruit tea I got with 25% sweetness. It was perfect since I don't like my drinks super sweet. The signature drinks aren't tea based so I would recommend this place if you like strong teas. There is super limited seating and more of a grab and go spot.

Yelp
A family favorite. The ambiance is so pretty but the place is small. About 4-5 people max capacity. They have a lot of options but my personal fave is their smashed avocado and durian and smashed durian only. The service can be improved. Most cashiers don't even smile or greet you when you walk in. Other than that, this place is good and definitely a must try.

Yelp
Yup! Thai tea lover here. Just passing by. Checking out all the boba shops in socal lol I really loved this place. Very small, home feel to it. The workers are helpful, fast and friendly. So shout out to them. I kept it simple. Thai tea, less sweet, light ice. They don't charge for less ice like some places do. So that's cool. Plus it's under $5! It was $4.75!!!! Wow!! Keep it that way lol I haven't tried their boba to know if it's soft and chewy. But I'll update on another visit. Keep up the good work. See you soon.

Yelp
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! Holy smokes, I've been in CA for years and been on the search for the perfect durian smoothie... and I finally found it!! Taste- it's sooooo delicious! I love how perfect the texture is. Never too soggy or hard. It's not too sweet or consistent. 10/10 Price- very fair Staff- very friendly and welcoming. Parking- they have a lot, so no worries! The menu- they a lot Face of different options, all look great. not basic at all. I really want to try their avocado and durian smoothie but I'm scared I'll miss the plain one! But I heard it's really good... so I guess I'll come back and give it a shot.

Yelp
Came here as it was close to where we had lunch and the pictures of the drinks looked so appetizing. It's in a small strip center but not busy when we went. The store inside is cute with a nice floral decor wall. We had to wait a good few minutes as the employee was taking a phone order. Their signatures did not have any descriptions so I asked what was in the CocoTaro and the cashier seemed really puzzled. A woman jumped in to help describe which was still a little vague but sounded good enough to order. My bf got the Pandan mung bean. The Pandan mung bean was a huge disappointment. It was super chalky cuz of the mung bean so texture was not pleasant. There was also no trace of any Pandan flavor at all. The CocoTaro was marginally better but it's hard to mix up all the layers and my sips would consist of either all egg pudding, all ice or all taro. Would not go out of my way to come back here. The drinks looks pretty but the quality was not there at least for what we ordered. Service was also not the best in terms of speed or being able to intelligently describe the menu.

Yelp
This place just so happened to pop up on my Yelp when I was trying to satisfy a desperate craving of a durian smoothie. A big plus is they also have a parking lot. Not only does it have good reviews and a lot but when I got there the menu was immense. Populated with almost everything I saw durian and got so excited. They asked if I wanted to try the durian/avocado smoothie instead but I just wanted the durian. I didn't even know that option was a thing. This had to be the best durian smoothie I ever tasted. Not only was it huge but the consistency was so smooth and creamy. I think I found my spot for durian. Might just come back and try the avocado durian mix.

Yelp
We got the Avocado and durian smash with grass jelly and the CocoTaro drinks. Each one was 50% sweet and SO PLEASANT TO DRINK! As someone who loves places like Phoenix's mixed fruit drink and durian smoothie, and Bambu's avocado smoothie and desserts, this was such a lovely combo to experience. It is different than any drink I've had and I appreciated that it tasted the way I'd imagined it to. The different layers of flavors and textures from the different fruits, blended coconut or durian slush, melting into each other was just the ticket! The coconut taro drink (not pictured--husband drank it too fast) comes with an egg pudding and a lovely smooth texture all the way through. If you like the subtle flavors of taro and gentle sweetness that comes from the root and coconut, you might love this. When they say smoothie, they mean it. Everything was very smooth! I called in an order and picked up and it was so easy and fast. Way cheaper to pick up than to order takeout on any apps but worth it if you have the cravings!

Yelp
Small little shop with a cute decorated flower wall. Parking is available right outside. I ordered kumquat sugarcane and I barely tasted any kumquat but I sure tasted a lot of sugarcane. I would've preferred more kumquat and less sugar cane and I asked for less sugar but it's not adjustable. Also, we were the only ones inside at that moment and it took about 15 mins or more for the drink.

Yelp
Picked up 4 usual avocado durian smoothie , added a choco bomb with boba for the little one and decided to try a house milk tea with grass jelly. This tasted sour and nothing even close to milk tea. In the trash it went. Wasted money and now have to get the taste out of my mouth. - next time... make sure to taste your drinks before you leave.

Vanessa C.

Yelp
This place is pretty small and cute, they don't have too many tables but if you come early and get a table it can be a good study spot. I love that they have a such a large variety of drinks that many places don't offer: Durian, Kumquat, Avocado, Mung Bean, etc. Service was nice as well, it's a two man operation especially considering how small the place is, but they are very quick and friendly. Thai Tea (5/5): it's hard to mess up Thai Tea Pandan Mung Bean (2.7/5): I like that they used actual mung bean paste in their drink--you can definitely tell because you can taste the grainy-ness of the paste, but it might've been too much Mung Bean in my opinion. The mung bean overpowers the Pandan in the drink. I'd suggest using slightly less mung bean and add more Pandan flavor.
google avatar

Char L.

Yelp
Enjoyed the pandan mung bean drink, even at 50% sweetness, it tasted very sweet. There is some hmm "grit" is the wrong word, but there is some body to the drink with the pulverized mung beans. The cocotaro is a super thick drink and honestly would have worked better with a spoon than a straw. It didn't satisfy any thirst based on how thick it was. Definitely felt more like a dessert than a drink.

Yelp
To drink tea is to forget the noise in the world especially in the city of LA. Without further ado let's begin this tea house review. Neighbors Tea House (est. 2015) is a small tea shop where they offer a wide variety of fresh drinks from tea to coffee to slush to smash. In addition, they have palatable chewy and delightful toppings. They are located in a very small plaza along Rosemead boulevard and Lawerence ave. Interior decor and layout were cute and spacious, respectively. What stands out was their wall of flowers which can catch your attention upon entry. It was my first time here and was oblivious what to expect from their drinks given it has mixed reviews. I ordered their popular Avocado Durian Smash (+boba pearl) which is a mix of durian, avocado, milk slush, and rainbow jelly. I was blown away by its unique taste, in a good way. Of all the tea house, this is the only place that offer durian fruit. Well done!! Service was efficient. Staff was affable and professional. Indoor and outdoor seats are available albeit limited. Prices were reasonable. Parking lot is small but easy to park. Overall, I had a wonderful experience and exceptional unique smash drink. I highly recommend this tea house.

Andri K.

Yelp
Came here last week. Order avocado and durian. They only put little durian avocado and full of ice. You only can taste ice and milk. Not worth it for $8
google avatar

Tracy L.

Yelp
I love that they listened to the reviews and improved. That shows that they care about their business and what their customers experience. The drinks have quarter sugar available now and there was no ice added as the items in the drink were already cold. I got the coco taro and it had real taro and coconut flavors that weren't overly sweet. It comes with pudding and it made a great balance of textures. The texture was creamy from the taro and coconut with a subtle jello like texture to it from the pudding. Overall loved my drink.

Yelp
Cute boba shop in Rosemead, Los Angeles, California... I've been to Neighbors Tea House several times and haven't finished my review! I even posted a photo from a while ago - when they had an Instagram frame! LOL! I looked for it, but didn't see it on 9-13-22. Haha! Shucks! Anyway, Neighbors is a cool place with great air conditioning! It's very casual and relaxing with a sofa in the corner and tables and chairs that are rearrangeable. The workers are nice, friendly, and helpful! There's a clean restroom inside! The Instagramable Floral Wall is fun! On this visit, I ordered the Wintermelon Green Tea - half sweet. It's simple, refreshing, and just right! If I wanted a fancier, more photogenic drink, I'd get the Tropical Fruit Tea with Rainbow Jelly - or something fancy like the Pandan Mung Bean drink! Maybe next time!

Michael R.

Yelp
Very disappointing how badly the quality has fallen. The portions used to be generous and reflected the photos on their website. On two recent visits I ordered avocado smoothies with durian and in both instances there was what I can only describe as a scraping of avocado coating the top area of the cup and the durian was barely detectable in the cup. I understand that food costs have risen recently but you cannot charge over $6.00 for what essentially is a large cup of ice with a smear of avocado. Very poor way to do business. Please stop cheating your customers.

Yelp
Opens pretty early (10:30am). Unique drink place. They carry fruit smoothies, tea, milk tea, coffee and sugarcane juice. Came here to try the durian avocado smoothie and it was a fun experience lol They use fresh fruits. The durian was very strong, but paired well with avocado. Not my kinda drink but a durian lover would enjoy it. They were out of unknown sugar cane juice so I tried mango and passion fruit tea. 50% sweetness was a bit too sweet for me but still pretty good. I'd come back to try other fruit smoothies.
google avatar

Jen T.

Yelp
I had my boyfriend pick two drinks up for me in his way back home from work. We ordered the pandan mung bean, and cocotaro. When he got home they were both still cold and the cocotaro still smoothie consistency even though it was over 100 degrees out today. The pandan mung bean is a little thick but tastes really good. The cocotaro was a little bland for my taste, And there were bits that tasted like raw egg yolk? I probably wouldn't order the cocotaro again; but would definitly come back for the pandan mung bean. It taste similar to 7 leaves pandan milk tea.. but like thick.. still delicious.
google avatar

Karissa S.

Yelp
Saw this place on yelp and had to stop by! Lots of drinks on the menu, but I ordered the thai green tea which sounded unique. Honestly tasted pretty good and would recommend lowering the sweetness level. Interior is cute but definitely more of a grab and go boba shop.
google avatar

Lisa T.

Yelp
I'm a durian fan. I grew up drinking durian smoothies (yum!) I tried the avocado and durian drink and it was good. I didn't care for the avocado in that drink since it's a mild flavor compared to durian. So, next time I'll just order durian.
google avatar

Cynthia L.

Yelp
They have a pretty extensive menu for teas, smoothies, coffee, milk tea etc. But the reason for this low rating is the interior space, there is none! This isn't one of your usual boba/tea shops to meet with friends, sit down and catch up. This is literally a grab n go kinda place. Only sitting area is by the cute flower wall and it sits about 4-6 people. Also, when we first entered, there was a pungent foul smell. Not sure if it was a sewage issue, old garbage or from the durian but wow....it was strong! And nauseating! Doesn't make a good impression. I ordered the sea salt cream iced coffee and my friend ordered a green tea with boba. Drinks were average...it wasn't memorable. Personally, it was a bit too much sea salt cream and not enough coffee. There are plenty...and I mean, PLENTY of other boba/tea shops here in SGV to go to, but this wouldn't be one of them. I think the reason why it's hyped up is because of the durian avocado drink.

Yelp
If you love durian, get your butts over to Neighbors Tea House! This is probably my 3rd or 4th time coming here. I never really stuck to one drink, but I was curious about their durian smash. My friends and my boyfriend love durian. Me? Not so much. But we all like to grab boba and drinks for each other, so I recommended this place to them. When they first got their drinks, they were pleasantly surprised! According to them, the durian smash (no avocado) was really good and refreshing. It was smooth and had the right amount of durian flavor in it, but they were confused at what was at the bottom. The durian smash is $7, and my friend said even though it's way better than the durian smoothie at Lee's, it really wasn't worth the $7. She was adamant about this until she got a good frozen chunk of durian and completely changed her mind. And I'm quoting this from her: "OKAY. I can understand why it's $7 now. I'd come back for sure." I'm recommending this place to everyone that loves durian. Their drink comes with rainbow jelly and durian chunks. I'm currently convincing my boyfriend and my sister to give it a try!

Yelp
10/10 Smashed Durian and Avocado $7.50 - Bomb AF! Presentation of the drink was super appetizing. the durian and avocado flavors mixed well with the drink being super creamy and not too sweet because durian was sweet and avocado balanced it out. Highly rec! 6/10 Jasmine Green Milk Tea with Boba $4.25 - Cheap but for a reason. The drink tasted so watery. Tea flavor was light and boba was averaged in firmness but nothing special. Would pass on this.
google avatar

Michelle T.

Yelp
Was craving boba and decided to check Neighbors Tea House since it was close by. My boyfriend and I decided to get the Tropical Fruit Tea and the Kumquat Sugarcane. The Tropical Fruit Tea comes with Strawberry, Mango, and Chia Seeds. This is now one of my favorite fruit teas! It was so refreshing especially on a hot day. The Kumquat Sugarcane was super yummy too. We both really enjoyed our drinks and what's even better is that their prices are super affordable! We def will be coming back if we're in the area to try their other unique drinks!
google avatar

Emily C.

Yelp
Meh. Maybe it's because we didn't try their signature drinks or we had 50% sugar, but this was a very mediocre experience. Coffee Milk Tea tasted faintly of coffee and milk tea and the boba was overcooked and too soft. Almond Milk Tea wasn't a milk tea really... it was very white and was like almond jelly water. Matcha Milk Tea wasn't that strong in matcha. All 3 drinks (1 of them large) was $12 so was moderately priced, but we wouldn't come here again.
google avatar

Arianne C.

Yelp
Refreshing drink always! Staff are very friendly! Cute and clean small shop. A must have visit when you're in the area.

Yelp
I really liked this place the first time I went and got the durian and avocado smash. They put a decent amount of durian and alot of avocado and it was sooooo good. I figured this place could be my go to place for this drink so I went back... but this time I'm super disappointed! There was barely any durian and barely any avocado...this makes me not want to to back anymore! Pictures posted for comparison of the inconsistency of their drinks. I would've been a regular customer of they can be consistent with the way they make their drinks and not skimp out on their avocado and durian for a $9 drink! Not worth it.
google avatar

Gloria L.

Yelp
Tried their signature smashed avocado and durian drink along with the pandan mung bean and both were delicious! The smashed avocado and durian came with rainbow jelly and made a tasty smoothie dessert with a good amount of durian and avocado that wasn't overpowering in any way. The pandan mung bean was similar in taste to the mung bean milk tea from 7 leaves which is strong and super tasty in mung bean flavor, except the one here is thicker and more concentrated with a grainy texture from the mung bean. I personally like that, so this drink was a win for me! I love that they have unique drinks on the menu because I definitely want to come back to try their other signature drinks!
google avatar

Sharon T.

Yelp
Neighbor's is known for their avocado smash durian and was thoroughly impressed by my experience. The menu had a great selection of both traditional and unique boba tea flavors to choose from, but I was particularly excited to try the avocado smash durian. It did not disappoint - the flavors were perfectly balanced and the texture was creamy and satisfying. I left feeling completely satisfied and will definitely be returning to this boba tea place in the future. I highly recommend giving their avocado smash durian a try - it's truly a one-of-a-kind treat! An added bonus they take phone order if you don't want to wait
google avatar

diana l.

Yelp
Not sure what happened to their tofu pudding. I just bought some for a holiday party and it was all really watery. I was telling everyone how good it was and when I tried it, it wasn't the same. I'm so disappointed of the quality. Everyone at the party said it was like drinking soy milk.
google avatar

Jessica Y.

Yelp
Some of the best prices for drinks I've seen in the area! They're known for their durian avocado smoothie, which definitely looks aesthetically pleasing but durian is not for me haha. We ordered the thai green tea with grass jelly 50% sweet, creme brulee latte 25% sweet, and rose milk tea 100% sweet with crystal pearls. This was my first time trying thai green tea so I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but it was very fragrant and had a nice strong green tea flavor. I'm not quite sure how to describe the creme brulee latte but it kind of tasted like Vietnamese coffee? Even though we ordered it 25% sweet it was still quite sweet so I can't even imagine what full sweetness would have tasted like. The rose milk tea was refreshing, didn't have a particularly strong floral taste (which I like). I was expecting the crystal pearls to essentially taste like boba, but it had more of a jelly texture which was a pleasant surprise. Would definitely come back again! There's also a parking lot out front with a reasonable amount of parking.

Yelp
Their SMASHED AVOCADO & DURIAN DRINK is always a treat whenever I get the chance. Even got my coworkers hooked on it. The price of the drink isn't cheap at $7.50 for a regular size, but you can tell they use fresh ingredients. Its the real deal! I'm not typically a fan of durian, but the drink is a perfect blend of a mini layer of soft durian, a layer of milky ice, creamy avocado smoothie, and rainbow jelly. It can also double up as a meal for some people..maybe? They also sell these TOFU PUDDING CUPS with the ginger syrup. Super tasty!!! Prices increased recently to $3 a cup (buy 10 get 1 free) but food/ingredient prices have increased drastically so its understandable. Oh~and another tidbit. If my memory serves me right, they had donated a gigantic box of drinks to one of the hospitals I work at during the middle of the pandemic and most of the units got drinks. It was super generous of them and definitely didn't go unnoticed.
google avatar

Ana T.

Yelp
I came for their signature drinks, Cocotaro and Pandan Mung Bean. Very tasty. They are located on a rather busy street, so it's good to come in the morning.
google avatar

Vicky T.

Yelp
By far my favorite place to get durian!! I'm probably biased because of this. It's really hard to find places that sell smashed durian. The smashed avocado and durian drink is ON point! I usually take all my visitors here if they like durian! It use to be like $6 but now it's $8 which is pricey but hey, inflation right? It's nice to indulge once in a while! Service was very friendly and nice decor with the flowered walls! It's small inside so not a place to sit and hangout for large crowds

Yelp
#49 in my bubble tea store adventures. I was searching for new boba shops to check out now that I've moved, and Neighbors was the first to pop up. I ordered the Pandan mung bean and Sea salt coffee. Both drinks were underwhelming, but I was especially disappointed with the pandan mung bean drink, which tasted bitter and unsweetened, and nothing like other mung bean drinks I have tried and loved. The sea salt coffee was also a little on the bland side. Wish I could have liked Neighbors Tea House more, especially since the shop itself is cute. Sadly, it wasn't meant to be. ********************* My Ratings: 1 Star: Terrible; just thinking about it makes me angry. 2 Stars: Wasn't a fan so Not likely to return. 3 Stars: Meh. Average. Might return if others drag me. 4 Stars: Yum! Will definitely return. 5 Stars: Amazing! Would plan my day around eating here

Yelp
Off work early and craving for some taro drink. This small boba shop is located in a plaza on San Gabriel blvd. They use many organic ingredients and real fruits for most of the drinks and dessert. I treated myself with CocoTaro. That's the best of both worlds because I love coconut and taro Very cozy and cute interior decor, clean surfaces and fair people. I requested mine order for 25% sweetness level and it's exactly what I wanted. Not like other places, their 25% tastes like 75% Will come back to try their milk tea series next time

Yelp
My aunt introduced me to this location for their specialty drink, an avocado durian shake. I haven't had anything like it before. Slightly sweet and not overpowering, it's got a few cubes of agar agar for texture. At $8, it's not inexpensive. My sister is addicted to the stuff and she told me that she noticed that the cups seem smaller now, but the owner said that it's the same volume and that the new cup dimensions just give that appearance. In any case, it remains an occasional treat.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I stopped by to try out what the hype was about! He got the Thai Green Milk Tea and I got the Soyfu. We both thought the Thai green milk tea was too sweet so if we'll go back, we'll definitely adjust the sweetness level. The Soyfu is packed with lots of toppings inside: grass jelly, tofu pudding, and red bean all inside a coconut cream slush. It was good but it was more of a dessert than a drink to me. Overall, I liked my visit to Neighbors and would come back for more drinks.

Yelp
This place was okay ! I came for the good reviews, but was surprised that the drinks I got were a bit underwhelming. I got both the Matcha milk tea with crystal pearls (it was 12:00 but they didn't have any honey boba 1 1/2 hours after opening ? Just surprised considering it was a Saturday but idk I'm used to most places taking at least a hour ) and the Sea Salt Coffee. The matcha milk tea unfortunately didn't taste like matcha at all, but more like sugar. I personally like my drinks more natural and the tea being the most present, so it's just not my preference. As for the coffee, it was good, kind of a lot just straight up, but with the foam it was a nice combination. Also, the service was kind of bland and cold. I don't normally judge too hard but this employee was super soft spoken and mumbled. We tried asking for recommendations, but he really did not seem in the mood to talk or be there, so I had to have him repeat himself a couple times because I couldn't hear him. Overall, I'd just say they need to work on service and their matcha milk tea (because I don't know what their other milk teas are like ).

Yelp
LOVE this place! Boba is super good and soft, drinks are reasonably priced and not diabetic inducing, AND service is incredibly polite. This place right now only serves to go but I bet it was a great study spot preCOVID. I would get their milk teas and fruit teas. However my favorite would be their honey lemon tea. It isn't super sweet and it's one of the best I've had.

Yelp
Fun and unique flavors for tea! If you don't like durian, then you won't want to step inside. The smell is pretty strong. Smashed avocado and durian: surprising it all the flavors and textures work out very well like the creaminess of avocado and durian. The rainbow jelly at the bottom is nice for a kick of sweetness. A solid drink but a little pricey since it's durian. But worth it if you're a durian lover and for a treat. Green Thai tea: nicely floral flavor. I really enjoyed this drink and especially the price. I'd definitely get this again. I tried one of the yogurt drinks and it's just very tart. Not what I enjoy but there's different flavors. I don't think I'd try these again. I'll definitely be back to try more drinks.

Yelp
Super impressed with this boba spot. The drink that appealed to me most is the CocoTaro. It is one of their specialty drinks and comes with egg pudding. I could tell that real, fresh taro is used. The taste of the taro with the coconut and egg pudding is amazing. I really loved how creamy it was. I also tried the brown sugar milk slush, which was made just right. With brown sugar drinks, I usually worry that it will be too sweet, but this was perfect without any adjustments. Grass jelly and egg pudding toppings worked well with it. One thing that puts Neighbors Tea House ahead of other boba shops is how they package the drinks! The lids (including the spot where you put your straw) were completed sealed so that the drinks can't spill over. In addition, the bags are created to separate each drink from one another. This makes it very easy to carry multiple drinks without them wobbling around. I really appreciate this. It makes me tempted to buy more! As of now, they do accept credit card payments without any additional charges. The employee who took my order was nice and friendly. My drinks were ready within 10 minutes. Inside looks clean and sanitary.

Yelp
I ordered the tropical fruit tea, which comes with mango, strawberry, aloe and chia seeds. I sense there might be lemon in it because it was a little sour. I did order this drink with 80% sweetness and less ice. I thought it was interesting how there were chai seeds in it, but there was only a little bit in it. I did appreciate the person telling me it runs a little sweet so I was able to alter it to make it less sweet. I found the drink very refreshing. I also ordered the lavender milk tea with aloe with 80% sweetness and less ice. It was the perfect sweetness but the lavender was very light, barely noticeable. It is also because it's fresh lavender most likely. If you're looking for a fruity tea, definitely try the tropical fruit tea!
