Austin’s New Restaurant & Bar Openings

"Located in the same building as The Dead Rabbit—and with some of the same team involved—Neighbourhood Cafe is a breakfast and lunch spot on Dirty Sixth Street. While its neighbor focuses on cocktails and pub food, here the menu features coffee, tea, pastries, and small plates that blend Irish and Texas influences, with things like Guinness beef quesadillas and chorizo hash browns.  " - nicolai mccrary

This coffee shop has a charming vibe and inviting atmosphere. However, the iced matcha was underwhelming—it tasted watered down and was served lukewarm. I ordered the lavender matcha, lightly sweetened, and would rate it a 4/10. I’d definitely return for the ambiance, but I’ll be skipping the matcha next time.

I love this place! It gave NOLA vibes. Their Chai Latte was the best I’ve had in the last few days (I tried three different ones lol), maybe ever. Their Iced Tiramisu tastes just like a Tiramisu, it has that cocoa bitterness. They are actually part of the dead rabbit now, so they are still there just don’t expect to see the sign. The staff was super kind, I really appreciate them settling our confusion.

Nice to be here as we’re from Belfast. They’ve done a great job. Love the interiors and the pictures of our beautiful country. Nice to have a flat white in the US 👍☘️

Neighbourhood Cafe is a cozy Irish pub and coffee spot with a lively atmosphere. However, be prepared for crowds, especially on weekends. The food and drinks are delicious, but the slow service and lack of attention to detail (tables left unattended, old food left behind) were a letdown. With some tweaks to service and cleanliness, this place could be a real gem!

The quality of lattes and service unfortunately tarnishes anything good about this place. The atmosphere is cool. Space is pretty limited though. Our latte was not good, a bit sour which was strange. Asked them if they would be willing to make another one, but they said they’ll have to charge us a drip coffee. I didn’t try to contest, I just wanted a decent coffee. They made another one and it was not good either. It wasn’t sour which was positive, but it had way too much milk. We tipped great on both orders also. I’m not sure what the normal experience is here but if this is standard I would not recommend at all. Spent about $65 for two food items and three coffees. Super pricey which does not match the quality or service you’d expect. Also took about 20+ min for food when it was not busy. Here is the picture of the breakfast sandwich. Sausage links in a sandwich and french fries. 9:45am on a Saturday morning. And a glistening burrito that came out completely soggy. Really disappointing experience here.

What a neat little spot. My wife had the maple cinnamon roll latte and I had the strawberry lime soda water. She loved the coffee, and the soda was absolutely amazing. The staff was super friendly, and the chairs comfortable enough to stay a while. Definitely hit this spot if your in town!

Aesthetic spot in the heart of 6th street. Tried the iced tiramisu - it was good, had a nice balance of texture and taste. Lot of seating available and moderately priced drinks.
