Get Baked - Review - Islington - London - The Infatuation

"We spend a worrying amount of time scrolling through Get Baked’s Instagram page, and the desserts don’t disappoint. You’ll find this long-term dessert residency at Neighbourhood—a laid-back restaurant in Islington that hosts changing pop-ups. It's a one-stop shop for sugar heads and serves larger-than-life desserts, like a moreish, fudgey, and surprisingly not-too-sweet chocolate cake inspired by Matilda, and a baked alaska that requires at least three stomachs. The base is a dark chocolate brownie, with a nice bitterness that complements the scoop of vanilla ice cream. It’s all covered with soft Italian meringue that’s been blowtorched to perfection—and collapses in on itself at the touch of a spoon. Just like most things on this menu, it’s a messy, OTT dessert that you shouldn’t wait until after dinner for." - Rianne Shlebak

Came here for the Mazemen a view weeks ago. Really enjoyed the food it was super tasty! they have a changing menu with popular chefs so looking forward to returning for something new the desserts are insane and provided by GetBakedUK. The baked Alaska was honestly one of the best desserts i’ve ever had, so much so that i returned 2 days later for more!

Classic food hall, baked Alaska didn't disappoint, recommended for 2 people to share. Very kind staff too. 2 minor flaws: patchy AC, bit too hot for the tables near the entrance; then no Asahi available. Don't be put off if you can't book a table, they accept walk-ins, the venue is quite big!

Only reviewing the Ivan Ramen pop up - and we were disappointed.. the cold sesame noodles were great, but everything else was meh: noodles were overcooked, broccoli greens ice cold, kale could have benefited from a massage.. we had high expectations and left with an underwhelmed feeling. Cocktails were nice

Probably the loveliest staff in London. The food was really tasty, too. We had the Korean fried chicken burger, and the fried tofu. Venue boasts three different types of cuisine - Ghanaian, Korean, and Mediterranean. A cool new venue to catch up with friends or for a date.

Chill vibes, good service, and excellent food 😋 On a street where there are at least two of every kind of restaurant that you can think of, this place strikes a bit of a different tone. The entire “concept” changes every few months - right now, they have the Ivan Ramen folks in there trying out a new menu in the evenings, they’ve got the Just Baked folks doing (big, scary, awesome) desserts during the day, and there’ll be something completely different in a few months. Basically, you are invented to come back for the consistently good people/service, but the menu is wildly different - not a bad idea at all!

We tried the pop-up of Ivan Mazemen which is based in ramen and we weren't disappointed. The food was well seasoned and delicious. Decent portions and good and fast service. Overall Sessions space seems like a great idea so we'll be checking it out. Btw kids are welcomed!

I love this kind of concept, different food stalls under the same roof! You can fin Ghanian, Korean, Burgers and more! Love the decoration and the food was very good, we especially enjoyed the beef kimchi and the spicy slaw. Will definitely be back to try more!

I’ve been the the New York branch of Ivan Ramen and the broth version was better. I noticed that when it comes to the fried chicken sides, they are very sour at both their venues to the point it makes me mouth clench up and upsets my stomach a bit. Great that Ivan is on an Netflix episode but think the team will need to rethink their fried chicken dishes. My rating is based on the food and not the venue, the venue has beautiful decor.
