I truly wanted to give Neiman's a solid 5 stars. I believe a store of this caliber should be nothing short of that. Sadly, I don't believe they deserve it.
As I stated in my previous tip, Lynda and JC were of great help. JC even followed up with me via text. Now THAT is the level of customer service I'd expect. They both get 5 stars!
As soon as I saw Lynda in action with another customer, I knew I needed her help finding the perfect evening dress. She did her best and brought me a few great dresses despite that fact that she was already tending to another customer and it was the end of her shift. She asked another associate to help me, but she didn't quite meet my expectations. After setting me up in a fitting room, she asked if I'd like a bottle of water, and I quickly replied, "yes please!" I was in there about 45 minutes and never saw a drop of water. She came by and brought many dresses, none of them age or event appropriate. Once I finally found one I liked, I went over to see her at the register. I wanted to see if it was available in any other color online. We waited, and waited and waited some more. She was doing something on the computer and insisted she would only be 5 more minutes. After taking another look and the entire floor for other options (giving her time to finish), we came back and she was gone. Fed up and tired, I jotted down the information on the dress and did the online research myself! Lynda was great, the replacement lady - not so much.
I had spoken to JC in ladies' shoes before returning the next day. When I arrived, he promptly took care of me. I knew exactly what I was looking for, just a matter of trying on a few styles. Once I made my decision, we realized they didn't have the size/color combination I was looking for. I quickly pointed out that Bal Harbor had them in stock (I had previously checked inventory online at both Merrick Park and Bal Harbor). Thinking they would have the same level of exceptional customer service as Nordstrom, I expected them to ship from one store to another for free. Silly me! There would be a charge of $25 for overnight and $15 for regular shipping. Please take note that online, they will have the shoe in the store you choose within 2-3 days for FREE. I ended up "negotiating" an overnight shipping from Bal Harbor for $15. When my shoes were ready for pickup, unfortunately JC was gone for the day (he was great!). Someone else took care of me and his first questions was if I had paid for them already. Do these people work on commission? Because once I answered "yes", he didn't seem to care much about helping me. Lastly, since they were being stretched, he had to repackage them. Somehow, he left out the spare pair of heel taps that come with the shoes, probably because he was trying to get me out of his way quickly. He also snubbed me on validating parking, not sure if they normally do this - but he was just plain snotty. Thankfully, JC responded to my text right away and he took care of it.
I honestly don't know that I'll be returning here, I have a pretty bad taste in my mouth.
