"When it opened in 1907, the Neiman Marcus department store was unlike anything Texas had seen, with opulent furnishings and designer fashions that had been sourced in New York City . The store struck a chord with the newly-oil-rich denizens of Dallas , who proceeded to buy out the initial inventory in weeks. And thus, a luxury legend was born. Since then, the brand has grown and evolved (even buying Manhattan retail icon Bergdorf Goodman in the process), but ithasalways adhered to that elevated level of luxury, from launching the first retail fashion shows in the country in the 1920s, to producing what’s still considered the most over-the-top holiday catalogue around. All that history can be felt at this flagship location, where the retailer has been based since 1914, in a now-landmarked Renaissance revival–style building. Take in original details like the double staircase as you shop the fashion-filled floors, then enjoy the famous lunch at the sixth-floor Zodiac restaurant, which has been treating Dallas’s elite to classics like mandarin orange soufflé with chicken salad for over 50 years. The holidays are particularly magical at this location, too, when thousands of lights cover the facade, a grand Christmas tree adorns the main hall, and the store windows are filled with elaborate displays. My Sister and I went to visit and reminisce for the final time when we thought it was going to close on March 31st. Had a fabulous time looking around on every floor, getting a snack, and visiting with the employees. Now, since it will be open through this year, we have reservations at the Zodiac Room. Can't wait!

So I've been to Dallas before but Neiman Marcus was closed on a Sunday. I knew I wanted to visit this iconic and historical landmark. I learned through a colleague that they have a buffet. I'm not into buffets but wat do amazing . Apparently, this iconic store was closing on 3/31/25 until management decided on Saturday to stay open through the holidays. I'm sooo lucky because I was able to have a most delightful dining experience and Roberto was an amazing waiter. The salads were delicious with such high quality ingredients and they had such and amazing variety for anyone's pallet to enjoy. The asparagus, green beans, roast and Mac and cheese were cooked with to perfection. Shopping yesterday through the store afterwards was fabulous where every associate greeted and spoke. Rayna was extremely help and Manny in the purse department was exceptional. Apparently, what was supposed to be a closing party turned into a champagne celebration for NM employees which they are deserving of for the last hour before closing . Unfortunately, my credit was left at the restaurant so I returned today. Bryce at Valet was extremely helpful hearing my concern and helping me navigate to loss prevention along with I believe Rayna ( she had in red Timbs and cute boho jeans with a cute jacket ) This two young individuals deserve to be commended for their exceptional customer service! They went out of their way to assist in helping me with this credit card situation and making sure a solution was considered. On the other hand when they reached out to the floor leaf today on 4/1/25 on the first floor by the jewelry counter the lady who I believe is Karen was underdressed, hair not kept and absolutely worthless. She was condescending informing me she could do nothing regarding my credit card, the restaurant is closed for 2 days and she doesn't have keys. So she was communicating she could not look through the leather fold they bring the bill to someone in. Clearly she needs training in hearing customers concerns and needs. Furthermore, she needs training in finding solutions instead of creating barriers. She should not be in ANY leadership role for Neiman Marcus as she is an embarrassment for her inability to provide customer service. When I asked to speak to a store manager she let me know no one was available and that meetings were happening. I stated well this doesn't help to create a solution to which she responded "I don't know what to tell you." She proceeded to get on the elevator and I did too. She told me I could get on the elevator and that no one was on the 6th floor . That was a bold face lie because Bryce had already taken me to the 6th floor. I can't stand people who do not operate with integrity. At that point she got off on the 4th floor and I'm sure she called bc store management and operations arrived promptly and found me speaking with Manny who was trying to create a solution like any leader does. These ladies Pinoli & Natisa were nothing but exceptional. Clearly, they realized I'm not an unreasonable person in my request. Looked through all sections of the restaurant and genuinely showed initiative in wanting to help me locate my credit card at their restaurant. They even contacted loss prevention and took my number. While my card was not located a concerted effort was made and I was satisfied and pleased with everyone other than this leader who is dismissive of concerns. These staff should be acknowledged while the other one should no longer remain employed. I'm glad I was able to finally shop at the original Neiman Marcus. It's one of a kind

This was one of the most stunning department stores I’ve ever stepped foot in. I later learned that this was the original Neiman Marcus location, so there’s a historic element to it, as well. Very cool experience!

The original Neimans! Love this location! Adriana was my "personal shopper" yesterday and was amazing at helping me find what I need and getting things ordered for the right size! Such a great experience & looking forward to going back for a shopping day with my best friend to get her birthday present!

Very nice selection of brand clothing and home goods. This is the flagship store for an exceptional store chain. Excellent customer service Shawna was great, (the item I wanted was out of stock, they brought it in from the Scottsdale store). Many items are exclusive to their stores.

Yelp
I already feel very self conscious as a person of color walking into luxury stores but when i walked in on a Nov 2023 day, after a conference, i was especially made aware that i didn't belong here. I came in to casually browse & clear my mind, secretly really thinking i'd buy some Milton Brown lotion (my fave) and sunglasses (i'm addicted...can't help but buy them on trips!) I came in and the staff were basically following me on every level. Sure, i came in 30 min before closing but sheesh. I made my way up a few flights, to the 3rd floor when something caught my eye...i browsed the luggage (because that's my new 2nd obsession now that i travel for work every week or two). It was at that time I realized it wasnt my imagination, i was as being kinda followed as a staff member in casual-ish clothes made his way towards me as though he was a customer, looking at the same luggage i was, only to turn and walk towards a colleague. This made me super uncomfortable so i made my way back down stairs. Lo and behold, sunglasses! I started to look at the sunglasses i came in for & got a complete 180 inexperience- it was whiplash! Now, no one followed or even asked if i wanted to look at the Prada's i was eyeing to replace my old ones. They went from one extreme to another. I really wanted my first experience here at the flagship to be great since i always loved the service at Neiman's in Denver but this one hurt.

Yelp
Beautiful store with beautiful people working in it. The sales reps were very friendly especially in the fragrance department. There were very few shoppers due to our current economic situation and their high prices with designer brands. Of course one could dream! I smelled perfumes by Baccarat & Creed and sprayed myself down with them. Went on all 5 levels via an escalator. Looked at designer shoes and purses and marveled at the beautiful wedding dresses. I bet this store has a lot of history in it. If you can afford it then go for it !!

Yelp
This was my first year going to the Neiman Marcus holiday brunch. It was awesome. A varied menu with about 8 different salads, several plant based dishes, many pescatarian items, lamb, beef, and pork selections. Something for everyone. The meal started with the most amazing chicken broth - yes broth. It concluded with a desert tower that too had something for everyone. This is our new family tradition. Will be going in 2023.

Yelp
This historic flagship store has a wonderful selection of gifts for everyone ranging from $ - $$$$. We had completely above and beyond service provided by Shawna Patrick and the gift wrapping team. Such a fun way to shop in person thank you!!

Yelp
I love Neiman Marcus. I buy all my jewelry there and everyone is always so nice. Nowhere else can you get amazing service as well as fantastic products.

Yelp
From when NM opened until the present, this store has been known for those with discerning tastes. As I browsed the perfume and jewelry today, I met some very nice employees who made no judgement regarding my dress or lack of wearing jewelry. And by judgyness I mean the eye glance that some high end retail associates give shoppers who appear to be maybe less than able to afford the items they are looking at. I only visit NM occasionally now since I have left NYC, but I still love seeing something that's unique and stylish and occasionally purchasing a splurge item. Now OMG the Creed colognes are amazing with all sorts of florals or fruity undertones. Ventured to jewelry and met lovely Marcellen who was so kind to show me some necklaces. She advised they can mail to florida (save on sales tax) should I so desire. Then came the makeup area. Here I met Moojan and what a delightful woman. We discussed something specifically that I was looking for regarding brows and although she and the other beauty advisor attempted to find something at least close to what I was looking for, no luck for me this time. I was offered a complimentary facial on my next visit. I did spend sometime in the shoe department without a single sales person approaching me. I also need to say that meeting Guy in fine jewelry was a breath of fresh air. He is a long time 20+++ years with NM and what a absolutely charming ambassador he is for the store. If they could clone him it would be marvelous. I cannot for the life of me remember the fragrance associates name, but she was beautiful and quite customer centric. The lovely experience while I was browsing was so nice and I definitely would come back again on my next Dallas visit.

Yelp
Men's alterations in Dallas: In late 2023, I visited at least ten men's tailors in the Dallas area, who were known as custom or bespoke tailors, about shortening some suit jackets and sportscoats from the top of the garment (i.e., at the shoulder seam). Apparently recognizing the careful and time-consuming work that would be involved, most of the tailors advised that the alterations couldn't be done (or done well) or were not willing to undertake such a project. Mike Akache, the Regional Manager of Alterations at the NM Northpark store, was one of only two tailors with the skill and confidence to undertake the work. I've had many garments altered at the NM Northpark store over the years, but in this case, the work involved difficult alterations that were not typical for most tailors. Mike did a great job advising me as to what and what couldn't be done to particular jackets and sportscoats and performing the work. The price was more than that for more normal alterations, but was still reasonable for his time and work. The work was so good that it's almost impossible to tell that the garments were not originally constructed as they now are, and (of course) the garments now fit much better and look good. I heartily recommend Mike and his department of tailors!

Yelp
I purchased Estée Lauder products totaling $294.45 for Mother's Day. Unfortunately, I had a change of heart and attempted to return the Neiman Marcus Estée Lauder products to the downtown Dallas store, only to be met with resistance from a very prude, and racist white woman, who refused to acknowledge at the counter for 10 minutes while I stood at her counter. Instead of acknowledging me, she said, I have to take care of my customer online order few before I help you before I help you. With a horrible attitude she began to fuss about. Why did I come to her counter, despite the product, being Estee Lauder, and being an opened, and accompanying a receipt of purchase that was just three days ago. As professionally as I could, I remain quiet and then she said "few people come in here making demands" I then said, "who is....you people?" ‍ I told her "whenever you finish if you could just process my return I would greatly appreciate your help." I kindly said "that's fine, I have a return". She then said "well if it's perfume or something, you need to take it somewhere else cause I'm very busy!" I continued to stand and wait for service--and told her that it was Estee, Lauder, foundation, and products that have been unopened, and when she could--I can kindly wait on her to process the return. She then rolled her eyes and turned her back and continued doing what she was doing for several minutes. She then proceeded to talk over me, and as I tried to explain to her that I had paid $150 on my master debit and $144.45 on my Neiman Marcus charge card, she then was over talking me and never processed the credit correctly. Eight days later I try to speak with capital one in Neiman Marcus at the downtown location. It was met with resistance. I never received my return of $150 on my MasterCard debit which is concerning. I was told that they only way they could fix it was to charge my Neiman Marcus $294.45, and then I need to bring back my debit and they will issue a refund, this is not happening. When I return back to the store, instead, they charge my NM card $294.45 and reversed the wrong amount. It was too overwhelming to continue to address. I still can't comprehend how $150 was charged my Neiman Marcus card. But it's not worth the hassle for me to go back and try to dispute.

Yelp
I worked in this building for 2 1/2 years in the late 1990's and the year 2000. Truly no place like it. The best. Many mentors that gave their best every day. There couldn't have been a better group of people that truly cared about the customer experience AND each other. Truly some amazing people that worked so so well together. Amazing times I had working at the DT-01 store. Thank you Will, Emily and of course Shelly along with numerous others. You really don't have experiences like this often in your lifetime. I learned so much about retail, customer service, policy and procedure, but more importantly, how to be open and listen, how to do what's best every time and how to work with/for people of all backgrounds, beliefs and interests. It was a very diverse group of people that were one big family. As I look back on my adult career (and I went on to Gaylord Hotels, BMW and Mercedes Benz) there were many places that had the potential but just couldn't match the attention to detail, the true Art of Selling and to understand that No Sale Is Ever Final. Caring makes all the difference. Thank you for the memories Downtown Neiman Marcus, you have fortunately and unfortunately, trained (and spoiled me) to recognize and strive for the best in all customer experiences.

Yelp
SERVICE, SELECTION, VALUE. Service above all. Thanks for treating me like a hero, whether I roll in looking like WHOLE trash, or the fine a$ cat hair, goddess I truly am (or once was, hahaha). Downtown Neiman's is the one and only place I like to shop, because i actually loathe shopping. However, they always have a first-class selection, which makes it easier to get in, and get out.

Elaine D.

Yelp
This business steals your money and keeps the product. This was my first time ordering from them, and I received an email and text saying my order was delivered, but I never received the item. I contacted them, and they emailed me in 5 days saying my claim was denied.

Yelp
What a great experience. Due to the COVID-19 you have to make an appointment to enter. No problem appointment made, upon entering I was given my very own personal shopping assistant. We walked each floor and she kept her distance so I could leisurely check out sales, but also close enough to answer my questions. I didn't have a lot of time. I'm looking for a formal for a wedding and saw a few things. I also love that they can do alterations in 1 week. So very timely turnaround. Overall I felt like a rock star with the store all to myself. Maybe that's how celebrities feel.. I got the gold star treatment!!

Yelp
Original Neiman Marcus in downtown Dallas. This store is so elegant and beautiful with top of the nine designer clothes, shoes, cosmetics, toiletries, you name it,Elegance and class.

Yelp
Such a classy place to shop at! I got excellent customer service at the Beauty Department although it doesn't carry the brands I was looking for. Joan is knowledgeable and professional. This is the high end department store shopping experience i have been looking for for past few years in US.

Yelp
This review is for the cosmetics department. I visited on 9/17/21. I needed more of my fancy hair oil so I made a trek here. The cosmetics department is a clean, quiet and sort of charming setup. I like how it's organized. Now I'll tell you that it's QUIET when you walk in unless you're dressed to the nines. However I was greeted very shortly by a pleasant lady before being left to browse. However I was offered assistance. Then another associate, Ana Lopez, came along. She is patient, knowledgeable, and is approachable. You know how plenty of NM have those Glamazon sales ladies who wear skyscraper heels and stare you down? That's not Ana. She is very pleasant. Anyway, she helped me find everything I had on my list, paid attention, and was just great. I'll be back to shop with Ana most definitely.

Yelp
My experience with this Neiman Marcus can be summed up like this: love the store's setup & decor, like the employees, hate the prices. When it comes to the prices, I can honestly say that I wasn't surprised, given Neiman's location in downtown Dallas. You have to automatically expect a 25-30% markup to recoup costs to run a 6-level department store (the top two levels are for the executives). While the product quality is exeptional with the choices of designer clothes, its hard to purchase a size 8 designer dress for $238 off of the rack for my wife (i.e., Tahari) when I've seen the exact same size & design at NorthPark for 20% less at the Tahari store. The same goes for perfume sets. Why some of their prices are lower online in comparison to the store, I just don't know. While I do not hate Neiman Marcus (been shopping at various locations for 20+ years), this location just seems to have noticeable mark ups on virtually all of their inventory. While the mark ups may not bother some, its just hard to justify the concept of overpaying for the same value to others like me. To make it a fair analogy, shopping at this Neiman Marcus location is like purchasing a NorthPark Center piece of merchandise at a Highland Park Village price. The difference? Simply the zip code.

Yelp
Truly vintage original! It's such a kick being in this store, because it's such a throwback to simpler times. I always think of Mannequin, with Andrew McCarthy and Kim Cattrall, when I'm inside. My mom and I love having a stylish lunch together at the Zodiac here too.

Yelp
Flew into Dallas to help my daughter find a wedding dress. Decided to start looking for myself since I have two children getting married. This location is near the hotel (The Adolphus) so just a short walk. Greeter at the front door took us upstairs and introduced us to a young man. Told him what I was looking for. He showed us one dress (short business look) which was not evening close to what I described to him. He said he was just finishing up with another client and would be right back. He never came back. Another young man came over and I actually showed him what I was looking for. He could order it but told him I don't live in Dallas. Very polite young man and interested in having a conversation but didn't seem interested in helping finding a dress. Definitely will come back to Dallas and set up some appointments with some of the beautiful boutiques. Will NOT recommend this location or be giving them my business in the future. To customer service...nothing more needs to be said. You have the above info if you wish to follow up. The time was approx 4-4:30 on Jan 14th.

Yelp
My fav place to be pampered.. Dave Russell is my all time favorite hair stylist everrr. I can spend all day at NM and not visit every floor. If you love lemon, you have to splurge and treat yourself to a lemon cupcake....drink 6 cups of water and visit the hotel fitness center before your shower...I guarantee you everything will be alright!

Yelp
Yikes. I knew department stores are expensive, but $105 for a cotton camisole? I was the only customer at 5:30pm on a Thursday. I wanted to pass some time here as my flight was delayed, but I was followed around by a different jingly salesperson on all 4 floors I visited. The place is more like a failed art museum -- how are they even still in business? Would've loved to have purchased a silk scarf or a nonprecious stone ring but damn did they turn their noses up at me. Never stepping foot in a Neiman Marcus again. This retail dinosaur can die.

Yelp
In June 2019, I came to this department store to get my make-up done at the Dior store for a wedding (I live in California). I ended up purchasing a Chanel from this Neiman Marcus in June 2019. I need the receipt to show to Chanel to verify my Purse. Therefore I called Chanel at Neiman Marcus, and they have no information on my purchase... which I was told is impossible because you can't check out in Chanel without them having all your information. I called many times trying to figure out what occurred - I got a billing statement from my credit card company, and they checked out a Chanel purse in Dior cosmetic section-- which you cannot do! I've been told over and over and over again that this has been escalated to the manager of the store, and I'll hear back from them soon. Well apparently, the store manager does not care at all. I've called over ten times now -- lesson learned don't ever buy from the department store.

Yelp
I ordered an item via the website to be delivered within 10 miles of the Dallas store location. It was supposed to be delivered the next day. One star is awarded for the free bonus items that were included which were delivered on time via FedEx. The main item that was ordered was delivered via a local courier. The item was not delivered as of three days after expected delivery. I attempted to contact customer service through the website using the text services. I had four encounters attempting to clarify where the item was. Only one out of four of the encounters was I offered the opportunity to ask any more questions before ending the conversation. The other customer service agents cut off the conversation early which was very disappointing and frustrating. I spoke to the supervisor, Crystal. She apologized for the poor service. I asked if I could cancel that order and just order another one so that the gift to arrive on time for the holidays. She would not offer me this option. She told me that they had to file a claim with the courier first. I suspect that they were out of stock of the item. It is disappointing because if I had ordered an item out of Amazon and if the item was lost, the replacement item would've been immediately shipped if this were my option. In this case Amazon customer service would be superior to Neiman Marcus. And that is their artificial intelligence tool. As a long time Texan I hope that Neiman Marcus will use this feedback to improve their quality of service so that they can compete with Amazon based on its reputation of customer service. PS. One week after initiating the complaint I was refunded.

Yelp
Everything you'd expect of Neiman Marcus. Beautiful selections exceptional service. Didn't do much shopping but we did dine at The Zodiac and lunch was delicious, Jeff was very welcoming and helpful!

Yelp
Always the best service, and most amazing atmosphere. Every visitor to Dallas must visit the downtown location!

Yelp
Coming up on five years later. The Neiman Marcus undershirts are still at the top of the rotation, with Brooks and Lauren filling out the bottom of the lineup. Best quality there may be.

Yelp
I don't like to post terrible reviews but yikes.. this store is gorgeous but I think the staff needs to be replaced at least in the cosmetics/ fragrance. I didn't receive help until I was ready to check out. I bought a gift- jo Malone perfume & she didn't wrap it & gave me a used one. Lazy un professional poor service. Definitely need new staff or shop at North park.

Yelp
I thought that this place was cool for historical reasons, being the second location for the Dallas-based Neiman Marcus (with the first location being long gone due to a fire which caused the relocation of the brand to this site). While I liked it, and can see this being a better Neiman Marcus in Dallas to avoid the Black Friday mobs, there were also some shortcomings. Here's some notes I've made about this particular historical landmark of this store: 1) I thought this store was supposed to be the Flagship store for Neiman Marcus. But it's kind of small - 4 stories of shopping, plus two stories of executive offices, but each floor is not exactly huge. So it kind of makes me question if this is REALLY the Flagship store at all. 2) Old architecture and styles from the ages past - I particularly loved the "golden" escalators that goes up four floors of this 6 floor building (the upper two floors have uninspired elevators for the offices). 3) Three of the four floors cater heavily to women, whereas one floor is for the men. And I'm pretty sure I saw a Chanel "outpost" on each of the floors catering to women. Couldn't they just put all the Chanel stuff together? I don't need to be seeing that particular brand every time I step out of the elevator on nearly every floor. 4) Supposedly they recently finished the first floor renovation, according to the press. I find it kind of hard to believe - since the counter of the coffee bar behind the escalators had some obvious damages and there were numerous tiles that were cracked. Partial renovation of the first floor, perhaps? With the amount of money they're charging for their products, you'd think this store would be flushed with cash and would be able to keep this place impeccable... but it's not. 5) Service is top-notch - partly because this store wasn't really busy with customers at all, so the employees can easily give you full attention.

Yelp
Went to the downtown Neiman's this morning since it's the same distance as the Northpark location for me. Someone said to go there because there is never anyone in the store. Could not identify the parking garage. Squeezed in to ask the valet guy if I could valet. He wouldn't look up from his phone. Seemed very new on the job. Finally got his attention. Walked in to smell perfumes. Looking for a new perfume. Woman greeted me. Sprayed some samples on paper testers, got them confused and I had to ask her to write the names of them down for me in case I wanted to purchase one. She seemed very bored and uninterested. Headed over to exchange or return a pair of gloves. Not sure who the salesperson was but she was extremely cold when I approached her. She seemed a bit pretentious and - again - uninterested and bored. And could not make eye contact: She was not warm, friendly or helpful. Overall, I felt like I was bugging the employees?!?!! I got the feeling they are all bored and don't have enough to do ... perhaps this is why they are not on their toes and ready to attend to their customers appropriately. Won't be going back to this location again.

Yelp
Great customer service. Xoxo Xoxo Great art its like a museum. Like an art gallery with clothes .

Yelp
They have THE WORST shipping process. DO NOT order online from here. The people that help when you reach out literally do NOTHING to help. I was told I would receive my package on 3/17, nothing. They then told me Saturday the 19th, nothing. I call and speak with a supervisor again and they promise the currier said it will be there Wednesday (today) Still nothing. I can't even track my item. You would think such a reputable company would do better making sure your expensive items get to you on time but as long as they get their money that's all they care about. Order directly from the designer themselves. Same prices and they use way better curriers.

Sami A.

Yelp
I have not shopped here in 10 years. When I came back, it felt great to be back. The service was very good. Everyone was very nice and took the time to make sure i needed help. it wasn't very busy for a Monday afternoon. some of them looked bored but it's monday so.... I enjoyed the selections they had, and they had really good deals which really surprised me. Also check out their restaurant. i'll admit the service could be better. it was much better before but the food was good! overall, I would definitely recommend this place for anyone whether it's to shop till you drop or just to browse around and have fun at a beautiful historic building in the heart of downtown!

Do not buy Spanx brand. Their materials are cheap and not worth the money. If you want great quality for your money, buy Calvin Klein or something else, but don't waste your money with the Spanx brand.

Yelp
Do not waste your time, unless you plan on walking in with a mink coat and money falling out of your pockets. Even if you can afford something, if you look like you can't, they will follow you around the whole store. Yeah, the WHOLE STORE (all 5 floors). Total waste of time. Pretty pathetic, economic discrimination at its finest. Racist, if you ask me. I'm never going to another Neiman's. I have to much dignity.

Yelp
I was very welcome by the atmosphere of this store and the selection of clothes to choose from. At first I thought that the clothes in the store were going to be very expensive and hurt my pocketbook but coming to find out it wasn't as expensive as I thought it would be I had an easy time finding what I was looking for. And the associates were very helpful. The checkout process was very simple the lines were short. I got a couple entire outfits for a fairly reasonable price and shoes to go with them. All I know it was a good experience

Yelp
I have to update my prior review, upon further visits upon lunch breaks I have discovered the that customer service is downright rude and lazy. The ladies behind the perfume counter showed no interest in engaging with the customer and were only interested in gossiping amongst themselves. When I wanted to try on different scents, the one employee who did engage with me told me to "sniff the spray" instead of letting me explore new scents. The employee in the Chanel store was also haughty - she immediately assumed I wouldn't have the wherewithal to purchase a handbag from the store and was asking me questions such as "do you know how much these cost?" to "just wanted you to be aware" of any sort of budgetary concerns (!!). An terrible Pretty Woman moment right there for me. I won't be giving her any of my business.

Yelp
Oh, such a delightful store! It was just unfortunate I didn't have time to shop even though it was next to my hotel. We ended up taking the elevator to each floor and admiring the history of the store. Next time I'll be sure to spend more time and check out each department, especially the shoes!

Yelp
In case you didn't know, which was the case for me, the return policy is 30 days, after which you have no other recourse (or at least I didn't). I may be among a minority to believe that I should be able to return an item (in the same condition as I bought it, with tags on) anytime for store credit (I do understand that the reason for cash refund in 30 days). In any event, in times of a pandemic, the store should revise the return policies to allow for more time, as people have not been able to leave their houses. Obviously that is not the case with the great NM stores. Cancelled my account, have better places to go.

Yelp
Don't waste your time here if you're not Jeff Bezos or Kim Kardashian. Not sure how they're still in business because there was no one there when we went but maybe they would make more money if they changed their snooty attitudes and seemed more interested in customers than their phones :)

Yelp
Sad days. I walked into Neimans at North Park wearing my bomber mink coat...everyone loved me and as they should. The days of glamorous shopping are behind us. The vision of grandeur has washed away. The manners are gone. You will always have the lowly young sales girl in cosmetics or the intense young man at the candy counter. I remember the classic clothes of Neimans of yesteryear. Its still a great store wonderful products but the awe has turned aaaahhh.

Yelp
The store offers a rich choice of clothing items! My experience was only positive. I managed to find here a suitable outfit for the spring. Will recommend to my friends!

Yelp
I came into the store today to purchase a new scent. The ladies in the perfume department ignored me while talking amongst themselves behind the counter near the register. One was ion her phone talking about where she wanted to go for lunch. There were 3 of them and no other customers. I walked around the counter myself looking at different brands of scents and nobody asked if I needed any assistance. There was a particular Creed scent that a friend of mine recommended but I didn't see it on the counter. I walked back over to the ladies to try and get their attention. I asked if she had the scent there and she very rudely said, "It's in stock but there is no tester." I asked if there would be a way to smell it to see if I liked it and she said no. Mind you, she never even walked over to me. She stayed at the register the entire time. I haven't experienced such horrible customer service in a really long time. I won't be shopping at this location again.

Yelp
Neiman's did a great job of taking care of me while I was on my search for my bridal gown. I didn't end up purchasing here but I truly loved my experience. Only thing that I wish was different, now this was probably because I went alone, was that I was able to walk the floor with the stylist nor was I allowed to leave the room I was in. I was a little confused as to where my guest would sit, if I did bring any, since there was a couch and chairs in the room but I was also changing in there. Only then that! The staff was very nice and I truly enjoyed my search! Thank you.

Yelp
The Mothership. The Original. A historical landmark (built in 1914). Headquarters. Tucked neatly in between various high rise buildings in downtown Dallas lies the original Neiman Marcus department store. With all the other Neimans built in recent times the only time I ever come here is Christmas. If you are thinking of visiting this original location I highly recommend that time of year. To be honest in years past Neimans really went the extra mile on the Christmas decorations. They have scaled back in modern times and no longer do the annual Christmas boxes and Fortnight celebrations but it is still lovely to visit and see what all they have put up on display. This Neiman Marcus spans over 6 floors with tons to browse on various flooring. My favorite department is the fragrance department which is on the main floor. Here you will find sample after sample of the hottest and greatest smelling stuff that will leave you smelling like a French whore. More than one fragrance line creates "exclusive" scents for Neimans and you can find them here. There are so many unique gifts you can find at Neimans. A lot of the items are uber-expensive but you will be surprised what you will find here that is affordable. The staff is not snotty at all but warm, welcoming and very knowledgeable. They have a parking garage located across from the main entrance that you can park in for free as long as you get your ticket stamped. They also have valet parking for a fee. If it is your first visit be sure to ask for a tour. It will be a treat!

Yelp
I live nearby this historic store and had to go there for some makeup supplies and ladies things ;)... I found some very helpful people in the intimate section who could point me to the perfect item! After picking up some items and bantering for a while one of the ladies called down to have someone do my makeup. This would make it easier for me to pick the items I needed to buy! The guy who did my makeup was hilarious and great at his job. While there they offer you champagne or water, the music is going and this weekend had a special offer. People stopped by to welcome me to Dallas, give me tips and local pointers. I have to say I was really shocked over how friendly everyone way and non-pressure oriented! The customers who were strolling around the makeup section have been going there for years and years, multiple generations. It was like everyone was just hanging out for a chat. One of the sales people has been selling products there for 28 years! You just don't find this kind of service anywhere else! It's worth every penny. For people who don't normally shop at NM you should know they only take Amex, their store card, cash or a check.

Yelp
Still the nicest department store. Beautiful from the entrance. And the employees are so nice and very helpful. Beautifully decorated for the holidays!

Yelp
If you have any interest in fashion or even if you don't, stop by the original Neiman's in downtown Dallas. It is a fantastic store, with an old flair that cannot be matched in the mall. In the midst of all of that shopping, go grab a delicious lunch at the Zodiac Room inside Neiman's and enjoy the popovers and strawberry butter. Everything on the menu is fantastic and it is more than a "ladies that lunch" kind of place. Men love it too. Just remember that they are closed on Sunday. This is not your typical retail store. Also, avoid the bridal salon...although working on commission, they do not know how to treat customers. Kind of had a Julia Roberts "Pretty Woman" experience with them..."you work on commission? Big Mistake, big, huge!" All the other sales associates I have dealt with are wonderful.

Yelp
As a native, I have great memories of downtown Dallas. Back in the olden days going downtown was an event. I had to wear gloves and a hat (I told you it was the olden days...)! My earliest memory of Neiman Marcus is going to the Zodiac for lunch on my birthday. There was a fashion show and the models would come around to the table and talk about the outfits they were wearing. I was about 8 or 9 and felt SO grown up. I used my best manners and made my mother proud. Of course, I parlayed my being good into begging my mother for a totally unsuitable baby blue boucle coat with a removeable hood lined in white velvet and getting it! I still have the coat (it's an antique now...)and remember that day like yesterday! I have a 2 year old granddaughter and intend to pass that coat on to her when she is big enough. Going to Neiman Marcus downtown is different than going to Northpark or the mall Neiman's. Downtown is like opening a present when you go from floor to floor. You have no idea what you will see when the elevator doors open! What a treat! The visual merchandising is clever and understated but gets the point of view across the minute the doors open. You know you are in for something special. Downtown Neimans is an experience rather than slash and burn type shopping. No huge crowds and noise. It's quiet and dignified but still hip and cool. I love going floor to floor exploring and talking to the very knowledgeable staff to see what's new and exciting. The InCircle program is great, too. The special events are fun and they keep customers loyal with the program. If I am thinking of buying something from Nordstroms or Neimans, I go Neimans to get my InCircle points. Double points on my Birthday, too! It's easy to see why Neimans is the last department store still standing in downtown Dallas. (gone are Sanger Harris, Titches, E M Kahn, Wolfe Brothers and more) Downtown wouldn't have half the growing cachet it is getting without Neimans.

Yelp
This review is slightly hard to write because I had two difference experiences. I initially came in the store to look at some of the Chanel accessories. I walked in through women's shoes and looked around. I was extremely disappointed in the way I was treated. The whole time I was in the shoe department no one acknowledged me. I was not greeted nor was I asked if I needed a size. The workers instead congregated around one another and spoke amongst them selves while texting. Seeing that not one employee out of the 3 bothered to assist me I continued to the Chanel department. After walking into Chanel I noticed that no one was there so I looked around in the handbag section. I came across a givenchy phone case that I liked and wanted to see. However it was in a case so I had to search for assistance. I found a lady who worked in fragrances and she informed me this wasn't her department but she'd be willing to help me. She started to help me and then the lady in handbags Ene came back after helping a customer and offered her assistance. I told her I was there to see the Chanel accessories and she walked me over to Chanel. The items I wanted to look at were in the back and she had to go back and speak with someone in Chanel to retrieve the items. Now, what pissed me off was when I realized the lady working in Chanel wasn't going to assist in anyway. Unfortunately Ene wasn't aware of the items I was referring to and had to ask the lady in the back for assistance and she simply stated "the items are in a tray" I'm over hearing the conversation and can see that she's not being too helpful. However I inform Ene that I have pictures of the items I'm interesting in. I work with a lady by the name of Kelly in the Las Vegas store and she sent over pictures I just wanted to see them in person. Ene than processed to help me. I ended up buying a Chanel scarf and a givenchy phone case from her. And she provides me with her phone number if I ever need anymore help. I stored her number and the next day texted her to purchase a givenchy bag that I had seen the day before. But, since my in store experience wasn't the greatest. I didn't want to bother walking into the store again. So Ene brought my bag out to me in valet. Although Ene provided me with amazing customer service there were points of contact that were missed. And as a former Neiman Marcus employee, as well as a Neiman Marcus card holder for over 10 years. This is extremely ridiculous! Not the service that I'm used too. And sadly not the service that I would expect from Neiman Marcus. It's actually disheartening to know that I was overlooked several times before I was actually helped. If it weren't for Ene this review would have one star. She does 5 stars but I'm rating my whole experience
