"After 20 years of serving imaginative flavors of fantastic ice cream, topped with tiny extra “izzy” scoops, on Marshall Avenue, Izzy’s has announced its St. Paul location is now permanently closed. The business will continue to operate out of its larger, newer factory in Minneapolis. The shop started small in 2000, in this St. Paul location by owners Lara Hammel and Jeff Sommers. It eventually expanded to take over a neighboring space, before moving to the Minneapolis factory in 2013. Izzy’s flavors are available by the pint in grocery stores across the metro area. The scoop shop was known for inventive flavors, often featuring local products like Peace Coffee, Summit Oatmeal Stout, and Wild Country Maple Syrup. Scoops of ice cream were offered with an optional “izzy,” a tiny scoop of another flavor of ice cream. The back wall of the St. Paul shop had a wall of photos of kids named Izzy holding their “izzy” adorned cones. Izzy’s announced the closure on its website blog, saying that the Minneapolis location will be open for delivery starting May 4 within a 5 mile radius of that address. The St. Paul scoop shop is the latest in a slow wave of storefronts closing in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic." - Joy Summers

Holy ice cream!! This place was amazing! Pick your cookies, pick your ice cream, pick what they roll it in… and boom- a huge stomach ache is on its way!! The girls were so sweet that were working there. There is very little inside seating ( 2 tables with 2 chairs each to be exact.) There is some great outdoor seating though. The ice cream portions are huge so if you can’t stomach a lot, definitely share with a person you love or at least like a little!!

Google
What a fun concept! You can mix and match cookies and ice cream flavors to create your own unique sandwich. The presentation is Instagram-worthy, making it an absolute treat for both the taste buds and the eyes. Friendly staff, a cozy ambiance, and reasonable prices complete the experience. This ice cream shop has redefined dessert for me, and I can't recommend it enough. A visit here is sure to satisfy your sweet cravings and leave you with a smile. I highly recommend trying their Carmel Apple Ice Cream 🤤

Google
Me and a friend came here specifically to try the ice cream sandwiches and they did not disappoint! You get to choose what kind of cookies, ice cream, and toppings you want. I opted for the sprinkle sugar cookies with lemon bar ice cream and caramel on top. It was super delicious and HUGE!

Google
Very nice staff with many choices of ice cream, warm cookies, and delicious toppings!

Google
Cute little ice cream shop, but fair warning either plan to share or come in after fasting for 24 hours if you want to eat a whole sandwich. Cookies were delicious, ice cream was great. Would definitely recommend

Google
Had a spontaneous date here on a hot afternoon. I was so pleased that they had some dairy free and vegan "ice cream" options! I got the dairy free cookies and cream on rice krispie treats and my boyfriend got the raspberry chocolate chip with peanut cookies. It was a lot to eat but hit the spot. We will certainly be back!

Rebecca

Google
The vegan chocolate and vanilla are delicious! Thank you for having a vegan option that is not sorbet. Open late. Clearly a community hangout. Definitely stop by

Google
Large portions, great variety of flavors. Decent price. I didn't even finish my cone. Definitely recommend

Yelp
Out of state visitor who was in town for a wedding. Came here with a friend after a great recommendation from our Lyft driver. The customer service here was great. They had such a great variety of ice cream flavors and all of them are so good. I settled on an ice cream sandwich of amazing banana ice cream combination with their oatmeal raisin cookie. It's a must have. 11 out 10 good.

Charnie D.

Yelp
Quantity of ice cream is A LOT... two scoops for a $7.00 is a total value for outdoor ice cream. The quality was decent but the ice cream scoops were pretty frozen solid so I needed to let it melt a little before I could use my plastic spoon. If I didn't, I would had snapped my spoon easily. The ambience is pretty nice and welcoming. Would totally recommend going and trying their vegan/dairy free options.

Yelp
Have been to Nelson's plenty of times & wanted to try out their sister store. There are many options to choose from to customize your ice cream. There are single scoops to sandwiches on donuts!! Inside the store is quite small, but has a few tables for sitting. I imagine their patio is more popular. Workers were friendly and gave recommendations when ordering. My only complaint is that one of our cookies tasted a tad stale but other than that it was delicious!! Definitely get the sandwich warmed up

Abbey W.

Yelp
If you've ever wanted an ice cream sandwich the size of your face, but only wanted to pay $7, this is the stop! Nellie's is the sister store to Nelson's in Stillwater, WI, and if you've been there you know the servings are giant. Well, Nellie's follow suit! After reading about Nellie's and seeing it on social media, we decided to give it a shot when friends were in town. I was shocked by how large an ice cream sandwich we got for the price! The gist here is you pick your cookies, ice cream, and what to have it rolled in (if you choose! I ended up getting sugar cookie with strawberry ice cream, rolled in their "confetti mix" (sprinkles, peanuts, and waffle cone pieces). It was a perfect mix of sweet and fruity without being too sugary! I also had it warm pressed, which warmed the cookies without melting the ice cream, and would HIGHLY recommend this! We also got M&M cookies, with a cookie dough and brownie dough ice cream (it had a name I can't remember) and was also warm pressed. Both were amazing but enough for 2-3 people to share, so they lasted us a few days in the freezer at home! It was slightly chaotic inside, but that's what a Friday summer night will bring any ice cream shop. The staff were super friendly and explained things well. I also loved the wall of "staff picks" for what they like to create. I was slightly disappointed in the roll-in options. There were maybe 4-5 options, but from other online reviews they usually have more. If you're looking for a fun family or friend's night out spot, or have a craving for Nelson's but don't want to drive, check out Nellie's!

Yelp
I was visiting my daughter in St. Paul, and she wanted to go to her favorite ice cream shop! I was in for ice cream, especially when she said it was a make-your-own sandwich! You start in the line and choose your cookie first, move to the ice cream choice, a HEAT PRESS FOR THE COOKIE (that does not melt the ice cream), and then you move to options for the cookie to be rolled in or drizzle choices. Very impressive! My daughter loves molasses cookies with coffee ice cream rolled in sprinkles and a chocolate drizzle! YUM YUM, she says. I went a little out of the box! I chose a peanut butter cookie and a chocolate cookie instead of two of the same. The peanut butter chocolate ice cream was ice cream with no other items added. The peanut butter-to-chocolate ratio in the ice cream was incredible! It's the best ratio I have ever had (especially if you like the peanut butter nuggets). It was an experience, and I will be back when I visit the twin cities and my daughter again! The cookies appear to be made by Vikings and Goddesses next door to Nellies. Pros: Inexpensive, a lot of ice cream for the price Variety of choices with ice cream and cookie combinations Cute outside eating area Good street parking Friendly workers (I was even told my two different cookie combo was a great idea) Cons: You will want to go back again and again

Kimberly C.

Yelp
Opted for the Ice Cream A La Mode, which was only a few cents more than the ice cream in a cup. With this option, we got a warm cookie on the bottom of a bowl along with choice of toppings. In total, it was about $6.50, and it was well worth it. The scoops were very generous, so I'm glad I shared it. Anyway, I went for the Peachy Keen flavor, which was tasty. As a kid I used to eat peach flavored Breyer's ice cream, and this was much tastier. Instead of having peach bits/chunks, it was more of gooey sauce ribboned throughout. The second flavor was a Raspberry Chocolate... I got a tiny taste, and it wasn't my cup of tea. The only thing I'd change is that next time, I'd request the cookie on the side or on top (even if it cant be warmed). Reason being, by the time we got to the cookie on the bottom, it was a bit too hard.

Rosangely M.

Yelp
OMG ! Late night sweet tooth and the only place open and it was totally WORTH IT ! Small place and not too much space to sit but great taste . And great service . Ladies were very nice Nd patient with us !

Hallie O.

Yelp
Stopped here for ice cream with a friend. That ice cream is okay but nothing to write about. I didn't try their ice cream sandwiches that they are most known for. But overall, I had a good experience. Customer service and parking free street parking. The ice cream store is dated, but cute.

Laurine N.

Yelp
I like this place for the $20 icecream sampler with all of the scoops and all the cookies, perfect for friends and family to share. Kind cashiers. Has outdoor seating. The icecream flavors are decent. Nothing too crazy.

Nicole G.

Yelp
I was craving a REAL homemade ice cream sandwich after dinner and heard about Nellie's via IG a week or two ago. I mentioned it to my siblings at dinner, so we decided let's go treat ourselves since it wasn't too far away. Oh gosh, did we ever! The possibilities are absolutely endless here! We stood in line for about 10-ish minutes as it was a little busy, but moving rather quickly. Just when I thought I knew exactly what I wanted, it changed as soon as I got up to the counter to order (it was the brownie s'mores ice cream that made me do it). For the ice cream sandwich you choose your cookie, pick your ice cream, pick your toppings, and decide if you want it hot pressed or not (I say get it pressed-trust me). Simple as 1, 2, 3, right?!? Nellie's is a cute ice cream shop with a ton of ice cream flavors. Lots of cookies to pick from. So many options! The ice cream sandwiches are massive and delicious. I was literally shocked at the prices here.... Amazing!! My suggestion, come hungry for a nice ice cream treat. The cookies are SO fresh and soft. The ice cream was so good as well and didn't melt like other ice cream that I've had. I will definitely be back before the summer ends and will have to try a different ice cream sandwich combination.... Can't wait!

Paige O.

Yelp
Who doesn't love a good ice cream sandwich? Nellie's is super good, we came here on a hot summer day and this didn't disappoint. The store is pretty small, but has some outside seating. When you come here, be prepared to wait in line, it is super popular! I loved being able to make my own ice cream sandwich, so fun. You can get Rice Krispies bars and donuts in place of cookies too. And a ton of ice cream flavors to choose from! I got the chocolate chocolate cookies with the jolted cow ice cream, so coffee and chocolate....yum! Was super good, I will come back here soon!

Nicole N.

Yelp
It is truly the good sign of a business when there is a line out the door and people are not deterred from the line! After eating at Mario's pizza around the corner (absolutely fantastic!) My sister and I kept seeing people walk by with ice cream and got curious! I'm glad we checked it out!! This is a small shop with very limited seating. It's street parking. The shop isn't over decorated, although they do have a fun license plate theme going where you can get free ice cream! You can either get a waffle cone, 2 different size dishes or pick cookies and make an ice cream sandwich! We decided to try a "small" bowl which was stacked high! We got the Funfetti cake batter and white chocolate raspberry! Both were fantastic!! I would love to come back and try the ice cream sandwich! You can get it warmed up so the cookies are warm and ice cream stays cold! I would highly recommend this little ice cream shop! Very reasonably priced and delicious!!

Olive D.

Yelp
I thought that it was good, but not great. The ice cream tasted out of a carton and the cookies were less than fresh. The amount of options that they had was nice, but they were out of things that were on the menu which made ordering difficult. It was good because ice cream is good, but I expected better from their "signature item"

Al K.

Yelp
How have I not gone here before? Think about all your wonderful dreams with the most pleasant of experiences and put ice cream on it and that's what this place is like. Undeniably delicious ice cream and the cookies are second to none. We've never had this before so it was a fun stop after pizza! They warm up the cookie which was amazing. Would recommend. The workers also helped us decide what flavors we wanted and what roll ins to add. Listen to their advice! They know what they're doing. The shop is a bit smaller but that's fine because there's outdoor seating! They also have a hand washing station after you cover yourself in delicious cookie and ice cream.

Stephanie F.

Yelp
What a sweet surprise! Nellie's is a choose your combination ice cream cookie shop. You start by picking your choice for cookie, (and there are at least 6 or more types to choose from), then you choose your ice cream (this is the hard part because there are lots of good choices), next you choose what topping you want to roll your ice cream cookie in, the final two choices are chocolate or caramel syrup on top and hot pressing your sandwich. The portions are not small! Two people could easily share an ice cream sandwich, mess but possible. You can also choose no cookies and just get the ice cream. If you choose no cookies you get up to two ice cream flavors. They have some great traditional flavors and some fun signature mixs. Apple crisp and Bananas Foster were the popular choices for our group. I chose snickerdoodle cookies with banana foster ice cream rolled in chocolate chips and hot pressed. I skipped the syrup topping. It's was very good! I wasn't able to finish my cookie so I get to have a treat another day! The staff was very friendly and patient while we made our choices and happily answered any questions we had. Overall a very good experience and I am looking forward to going back!

Chassidie L.

Yelp
Umm how is there only 20 reviews for this place?!? This has to be my FAVORITE ice cream spot in the Twin Cities!! Stop, drop, and drive here immediately. First off, their vibes are just immaculate. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted with the delightful smell of fresh made waffle cones. You will also be delighted with a long line (hint hint, that's how you know the place is good). They have a little hand washing station as a part of the line so your hands will be all nice and clean for your ice cream. Surrounding the walls are their collection of license plates that customers trade in for a free ice cream sundae! You could also get your name and picture on the wall for completing the cookie monster challenge. All of their options sounded tempting, but you know I had to get their ice cream cookie sandwich! It was only $5.25, such a good price. If you can eat a lot of ice cream or are sharing with someone, I recommend getting the ice cream sundae ($6.25). They LOAD that ice cream up! It's a HUGE portion. For my cookie sandwich, I mixed and matched cookies (one sugar one chocolate chip) and got the cookie monster ice cream (one of their populars). It was too-die-for!! I am planning to go back already. The cookies were sooo soft which made the structural integrity of the sandwich perfect. Did you know their cookies were housemade too? I know, this place couldn't get any better! PS: they are not just cash only anymore, they take card & apple pay!

Mary L.

Yelp
Food is great as always, wait for ice cream was not long for a very hot Minnesota evening!

Stacey D.

Yelp
Ice cream sandwiches! You get so much dessert here! Bring your friends, kids, family, and people you just met! Special shout out to the pregnant summer ladies - get here! I kept telling my husband I wanted ice cream one night. we ended up finding this place one hour before they closed. My husband was like are we really going out right now just for ice cream?! yes..:yes we did! we get there and i suggest we spilt something. he had no interest in sharing after being dragged here. so we both got an ice cream cookie. we could barely finish them! they have a couple of cookies to pick from and a variety of flavors (including non dairy options!), you can add toppings, and sauce. they will press it together and then hand you a spoon because you cant actually hold it. its a monster! i think next time, ill just get my ice cream in a cup but i would suggest trying the cookie sandwich once! my husband said his ice cream was good but not as creamy as other places. i got a vegan option and it was better than other places! and much more affordable as many places charge more for non dairy options. service was great. we were able to find street parking nearby.

Adriana G.

Yelp
After having dinner, my friend and I were craving some ice cream so we googled the nearest shop and found Nellie's. We found it to be a cute, friendly and tasty neighborhood ice cream shop. I ordered an ice cream cone that comes with two scoops, I went for pistachio and birthday cake (sprinkles?). My total was $6.76 and I paid with my debit card-- many are saying it's cash only, well now they accept cards. (2022) They serve BIG scoops, I finished the top one and couldn't even get to taste the pistachio... I was so full. It was creamy and delicious but my tummy couldn't eat more. I had to save my last scoop for later, I drove home with it and put it in my freezer. Too good to waste! Service was great, fast and easy. We also sat outside in the patio today! There were about 5 tables and all were full, in 50°F weather, eating ice cream at night. We want it to be summer so bad over here! I enjoyed every minute. Thanks!

Courtney B.

Yelp
Big fan of Nellie's! I come here often and have tried multiple flavors. They always have a wide variety of options and service is fast even when it's busy. They potions are enormous. My only complaint is they used to have a kids size and got rid of it, so the smallest option is two massive scoops (and I mean massive!). Prices still reasonable despite that.

Paul K.

Yelp
Being from out of state, and looking for a nice dessert place, we stopped in on a random recommendation from a local. We were both blown away by how good the ice cream was! We had one apple caramel and one blackberry lavender and agreed they were at the top rung on the ice cream ladder. The homemade cookies to complete the sandwich are just an added bonus. At checkout I thought she must have only rung up one item because it came out to about half the normal cost one would pay at the Cold chain. Their logo looked oddly familiar so I assumed it was a chain and was really looking forward to finding a location back home, but alas this is the only one. Now you have a reason to go to St. Paul Minnesota. No, really it's worth traveling to!

Kylie S.

Yelp
Super nice people serving really great ice cream! Got the blackberry lavender in a waffle cone, it was so creamy and delicious!

Kedar D.

Yelp
Nellie's takes the place of what used to be Izzy's, a local institution that was ahead of its time in making multiple homemade vegan ice cream flavors in the aughts. Nellie's, by comparison, has only one vegan option (a dark chocolate scoop at $5.25) and it was good, but I suspect was store-bought. The scoop was gigantic, though, and probably half a pint. No joke. You also get the option of adding a cookie to your ice cream, but none of their cookies are vegan. Be warned that Nellie's is cash-only, which felt like a bizarre anachronism in this post-pandemic, cashless era. But at least I got quarters to do my laundry. If you're looking for better/more vegan options, I'd recommend Bebezito, Milkjam or Sebastian Joe's, all in Minneapolis.

Pa V.

Yelp
I am not kidding when I tell you that this place is literally where all my money is going this summer! It's a great location, street parking isn't horrible here even when it's busy and you get the best of both worlds: ice cream and cookie. It is cash only BUT there is a FREE ATM inside which makes it so convenient! I love many things about this place but overall I think the best part is that there is literally so many ice cream cookie sandwich combos you can try! For the ice cream flavors I personally love the brownie earthquake or strawberry cheesecake. As for the cookie, the walnut oatmeal raisin cookie is the best hands down (and I don't even care for raisins). The staff are all young but cheerful and chill- seems like a great summer or first time job for young folks too!

Ahmed Nur A.

Yelp
this is really the worst ice cream ive ever tasted, these ladies really splattered ice cream all over my sons book bag. they dont havve respect twords their clients and it was just a horrible expirence dude im reccomanding this area to anyone who wants their day ruined.

Rosie O.

Yelp
This is a fun little family run neighborhood ice cream shop. They bake their cookies and make all their ice cream locally. This ice cream Shop is known for the homemade cookie ice cream sandwiches and they will even hot press the cookie sandwich for you. Couldn't bring myself to try this menu item. If you love ice cream this is for you, the serving sizes are huge. Be aware there is always a line but it moves fast. Favorite flavor dark chocolate peanut butter. Granddaughters were delighted, lots of smiles on all the customers.

Lisa P.

Yelp
Delicious ice cream sandwiches! They make their own cookies and are known for their ice cream sandwiches. We tried a chocolate chocolate chip cookie sandwich with mint chocolate chip ice cream. I was shocked at how big the portion was for $5.50! I also ordered a kid sized cup of strawberry for my son - it says for age 8 and under. Wow, another large portion and it had a mini cookie on top - so cute! Overall, fun place to try - friendly staff and good ice cream treats! Will be back when we are in the area. Note: They are not cash only now. They take both cards and Apple Pay now.

Ronald C.

Yelp
DE-LIC-IOUS! We were randomly in this part of town and wanted dessert. We were not disappointed with Nellie's. Choose your cookie and your ice cream and what you want it rolled around in and the rest is history. I had them press mine on a hot press so the cookie is warmed but the ice cream is cold. Two adults can probably share one because the serving is really big. Make sure you save room! They also offer a free sample of any ice creams you want to try. The workers were super friendly and helpful in explaining how it all works. (You don't have to get a cookie, but then what are you doing with your life?) BTW bring cash!

Eunice G.

Yelp
The ice cream does not taste like small batch and the cookies are bland. We tried the cake batter which just tasted like sugar, c is for cookie (which had bland vanilla ice cream and not many cookie dough chunks), and s'mores which was the only one we liked. Tried the chocolate chip cookies, and they were thin and had about 3 chocolate chips in them. The posters on the wall about the ice cream maker and cookie makers really made it sound Iike things would taste great, but they were pretty disappointing. The teens running the shop seemed stressed with the line, disorganized, and one put caramel sauce on top of a cookie before asking if we wanted it to be warmed in the hot press and told us we couldn't get it warmed anymore but also wouldn't remake it. I got the cookie a la mode and had the cookie warmed, but they put the cookie on the bottom of the bowl and ice cream on top so I couldn't even reach the cookie... come if you're not picky about ice cream and cookie quality and just like large portions I guess

Cadia G.

Yelp
I'm an ice cream sandwich fiend, so as soon as I found out this place existed I had to stop by. And YES! I was not disappointed. Right after they opened at 3pm, I waltzed in to find that I could choose from multiple different kinds of cookies, ice cream, and toppings. You can even mix & match cookies or have your cookies heated up (highly recommend). You don't have to get an ice cream sandwich, but the cookies are insanely good and I encourage you to go that route. Definitely biased. I gave four stars because I wish the energy level was higher! Being new and in the middle of two universities I was looking forward to enthusiastic service. It wasn't bad by any means, just not "fun" to be in there. I think music would make a difference. I'm not sure if it's for COVID or another reason but there are no indoor seating options either which I usually prefer in the heat. The verdict: I won't be able to control my craving for long. Definitely will return!

Delaney M.

Yelp
Great fun place inside and out has both his aide and outside seating. The inside is fun and more spacious for an ice cream place. They will walk you through step by step but it's very good and a fun new thing to try.

Kara D.

Yelp
Happy National Ice Cream Sandwich Day! It's a good opportunity to check out this new-ish biz for sure. I mean, I'd take any excuse. Nellie's is CASH ONLY, but there is a free atm. Nellie's is brought to you by the people of Nelson's Ice Cream, taking up the old Izzy's location. They specialize in build-your-own ice cream sandwiches/cookies! Here is the order of customization, you choose: housemade cookies or rice crispy treats, unique ice cream flavor, whether you want it pressed to warm up the cookie (but not melt the ice cream), roll-ins, toppings. The servings sizes are HUGE and this whole custom treat only costs $4.75! My cookie sandwich: walnut oatmeal raisin cookie, strawberry cheesecake ice cream, pressed, rainbow sprinkles roll-ins and caramel drizzle topping. My partner's cookie sandwich: Chocolate chip cookie, superman ice cream (oreos and M&Ms), pressed, rainbow sprinkles roll-ins. Both were super indulgent and fun. I wish we lived closer! The interior is pretty plain. It's more functional than aesthetically pleasing. There's a sink and atm along the plain walls and floor, but this is just a takeout establishment (with a few tables outside).

Katherine B.

Yelp
Cash only. We ordered chocolate peanut butter ice cream and found zero evidence that it was anything other than chocolate. Our cookies were definitely not warm after being pressed on the special grill. But the cookies were very good, and this place is cheap! The staff was super friendly. At this price point and ice cream style, I prefer Nelson's but I'm very glad we tried it!

Linda V.

Yelp
Best cookie ice cream sandwich's! The kiddos loves their chocolate an Oreo ice cream. Definitely go check them out.

Youssef A.

Yelp
I drove here 15 miles or so to see if Izzy's cream is still open at this location or no. I wasn't shocked to see a new name. I wanted to give it a try. The whole goal of my visit was to have pistachio ice cream. I was disappointed. They have many ice cream flavors. Comes with a free cookie: I waived my right to it. I tried two flavors: the peanut chocolate and the almond coconut, And they were good. I ate 80% of my cup. And I felt guilty after. I liked the crunchiness of the almond : I must admit I am an Almondista. Sitting outside was nice. Not too crowded of a street. Plenty of one hour street parking, at least for a Monday night. Between my mask, my server's mask and the music inside, it was kind of challenging to communicate. The employee taking care of me was young and did not have an attitude end she was very customer oriented giving me choices and explaining things to me twice. Now I'm back to reality and I want to start hunting pistachio ice cream in Minnesota....

Martin D.

Yelp
Everyone was super nice. If you are in the area, I recommend you going to get something. I got a sugar cookie sandwich with butter pecan

Barbara M.

Yelp
What an awesome experience we had at this Ice Cream Eatery. The amount of ice cream was unbelievable and it was very good. I can hardly wait to return to St. Paul so I can patronize this place again. I made a phone call and told my family who lives in St. Paul to please patronize. I am glad we discovered this place.

Rocky L.

Yelp
Great variety! Friendly staff, good place to stop on a summer night. Highly recommend!

Randy G.

Yelp
Fantastic ice cream and great service Many different flavors of ice cream and yogurt.

Riley M.

Yelp
Very limited indoor space but several tables outside. Ice cream cookie sandwich was yummy and having the cookies warmed in a press was a welcome treat.

Ellen W.

Yelp
The ice cream here is superb, the portions are enormous, the selection of flavors is fantastic and the service is great. Nellie's is my new favorite ice cream destination.

Lynn S.

Yelp
We stopped here on Father's Day. First time. Soooo yummy! Super friendly staff! We will be back!!

M G.

Yelp
I am absolutely obsessed with this place. I like it a lot better than Izzy's and you get more for your money. They specialize in cookie ice cream sandwiches so you get to pick your cookies, ice cream flavor, "roll in" topping, whether you want it warmed in the hot press, and drizzle topping. They have gluten free and vegan options as well. They have rice crispy treats to use in place of cookies and a rotating vegan ice cream. Seems like a lot of the employees are students and they are always very kind and polite

Yelp
Large portions for a good price! I tried the vegan dark chocolate ice cream which was delicious and the C is for Cookie flavor which was very fun. I really love how customizable the sundaes and cookies are. If you get the chance check this place out!

Yelp
Oh my goodness. Yummy ice cream uniquely served and so much for your money!! How do they do it? The ice cream scoops in Mpls is a fraction!! Of the amount you get at Nellies. And did I say it was so good!!.

Yelp
Wow this place is INSANE! I have to preface this by saying I'm not even an ice cream person. If I had all the desserts laid out in front of me, ice cream would be my last pick. But I will now dream of their desserts. I had a chocolate chip cookie sandwich with brownie explosion ice cream. The ice cream was one of the best flavors I've ever eaten! They rolled the sandwich in chocolate chips (like a kempswich!) and then 'hot pressed' it which warms the cookie but not the ice cream. The 4 other people I came with all had a sandwich and loved it. My only note is it would be awesome if they had an m&m cookie option. What I wouldn't give to do chocolate chip on top with m&m on bottom. Otherwise this place is perfect.

Yelp
When Izzy's closed in this location I was distraught! This was our go to summer night walk ending with a treat. I was bound and determined to dislike anything that would take Izzy's place. But....then they won me over. The ice cream is really high quality with great flavors. The atmosphere is inviting for kids but with enough space to relax if you're coming in without them. My only tip is that portions are HUGE so order with that in mind. I'm hoping this place does really well in the neighborhood!!
