Google
I like to mention it when service is outstanding; so our recent trip to Nellie’s was a great place to give a shout out. First the menu had great options including gluten free which was a great surprise. Its roots are in southern cooking especially great chicken dishes. My friend had fried chicken on a bed of mashed potatoes with collard greens. I had chicken and dumplings with collards. By the way the collards were fresh and well seasoned — just delicious. But the service was really outstanding. Our waitress Haylie was kind and cheerful. The manager and other waitresses also helped out— delivering water, food and taking away plates as needed. They made certain to check on us multiple times. I felt cared for and the meal was a great comfort food experience. The biscuits were amazing of course. I’ll be back and I’ll try some of their signature cocktails when they have live music in house.

Google
Delicious southern comfort food and excellent service! We had the chicken dumplings, Nashville hot chicken sandwich, fried chicken and chicken and waffles and everyone was happy with their plate. Our daughter got some crayons and a highchair and everyone was very welcoming and friendly. We got a refill of our drinks without even asking. Love the atmosphere and the service was great. We had no reservation at 4pm and got a table right away. Free parking available.

Jessica G.

Google
Loved eating here! The fried green tomatoes were amazing and I just about licked the remoulade off the plate. The grilled chicken sandwich was just average. There was no sauce/dressing so it was a dry. I also wasn’t a big fan of the thick-cut red onion on it — too overpowering. My mom said her catfish (not pictured) was very good, mild in flavor, and well seasoned. Waiter James did an excellent job, was attentive and gave good recommendations. The live guitar music was a nice touch (would have been nicer if it were the Jonas Brothers, ha)

David N.

Google
Wanted a place outside our normal haunts. Was not disappointed. Fried okra appetizer was amazing. We both had the fried catfish. Easy to prepare it bad, they decided to take the more difficult route and make it delicious. Prices may seem high, but portions are generous. Leave room for desert though. We had the hot brownie with ice cream scoop. That with a cup of coffee was a nice finish.

Google
Absolutely love this place. Atmosphere is awesome, the wait staff was great and very attentive, and the food is so delicious. They even had a musician playing live during brunch.. he did a great job! Will definitely be back for dinner… I believe they have a different menu for that time.

Google
Had an absolutely amazing time here. The food was delicious, the mixed bar drinks were bar none, and the weather couldn’t have been better! They had live music up at the terrace. This place is highly recommended, if you are in Belmont. Both bartenders were amazingly attentive and I enjoyed talking with them.

Google
Nellie’s Southern Kitchen blew me away! The service was absolutely top-notch—friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming from start to finish. The food was amazing, full of rich Southern flavor, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. A fantastic experience all around. Can’t wait to go back!

Google
Everything was excellent: staff was great, the general manager came to table first, introduced herself and gave a lil history of Ms. Nellie and family (this was our 1st time), decore unique, prices not expensive, food was delicious. My niece and I ordered a few things to taste. I don't eat cheese but niece had the mac n cheese. She did say it could use a lil more seasoning but other than that Everything else was good. The salmon and shrimp were my fave.

Ashley C.

Yelp
Food is great and ambiance is even better! Anton has been my waiter the past 2 visits and he makes you feel welcomed and cared for each time! Nellie's has a great team and even better food ! The peach cobbler is my favorite!

Cynthia S.

Yelp
Although I enjoyed the food at Nellie's Kitchen, I thought the portions were a bit small. I ordered chicken and French toast and got one piece of chicken and one sliced strawberry. My company ordered chicken and green beans and got a mediocre portion. My experience would not keep me from going back. Rather, go less frequently. The server was very good to us.

Yelp
Nellie's is the absolute best! The atmosphere, food, and service is fantastic. We've gone 2 days in a row since moving to Belmont and the staff is amazing. Thank you to Chad, Peggy, and Maddison for the hospitality! -Clark family

Yelp
Heard a lot of things abt this place mainly due to the Jonas Brothers owning it, so definitely peaked my interest to check out. Had a 2:30 lunch reservation on a Saturday for 3, we arrived a bit earlier and the young ladies at the hostess stand told us we needed to wait closer to our reservation time even though there were plenty of empty seats. So we sat down to the side waiting for them to let us know they were ready for us. We ordered the fried green tomatoes which were delish. Then for entrees I ordered the fried chicken, one friend ordered the burger and the other ordered shrimp and grits. We got and two bites in when the manager on duty quietly came over and told us to remain calm and gather our belongings and evacuate the building to the exit in the back due to some sort of emergency. The few bites I did have, I can say I enjoyed the chicken, greens and cornbread but the mac left a lot to be desired. It was sort of dry and didn't have much flavor to me. We never got to go back inside due to the emergency but the manager came outside and took everyone's personal contact info to invite us back for a free meal. I look forward to receiving that communication from them so I can come back and fully enjoy my meal uninterrupted.

Yelp
Good food and service and a nice atmosphere, I would recommend to anyone looking for a place to dine in Belmont

Yelp
We came in after a visit to the botanical garden nearby for a birthday brunch. We did have to wait to be seated, but on a Sunday that is expected. We waited about 20 minutes and was then seated. This is a very lively place, with lots of interesting decor, a large painting of the owners grandmother, Nellie Jonas. Yes, that Jonas family, and music memorabilia and photos of the Jonas brothers. I loved the ambience here. We looked at the menu for the usual southern staples, and they delivered. We tried the fried chicken, 4 cheese Mac side, Nashville hot chicken, shrimp and grits (my fav), and chicken & Waffles. Only one of us got something to drink, iced tea. Everything was delicious and fairly large portions. Our server, Anton, liked to come to the table to tell us some history about Nellie, and to tell a joke or joke around with us. It was fun, and made for a fun birthday for me. So, it's brunch time, and the prices are a little higher in my opinion. With tax and tip, our bill was $115, 4 people. I wasn't expecting cheap, so assuming the history, celebrity, and recipes are pretty authentic, expect good food but just at a little higher price for small town Belmont. Be sure to visit the restrooms to see all of the music memorabilia on the walls. My daughter loved it. When we are in Belmont next time, we will definitely visit again.

Yelp
Obviously if you are a Jonas brothers fan you should visit and check out the hallway with all the neat memorabilia. The food was delicious. The chicken and French toast was crispy and had good flavor. Prices are higher, but it's also an experience. The service was quick and friendly as well

Yelp
If you love good Southern food or the Jonas Brothers, you absolutely need to check this place out. I know that sentence is a little confusing. Hear me out. Nellie's is a slightly upscale, Southern comfort food place. It gives you that home-y feel in terms of the staff's friendliness, the warm atmosphere, and the great food, while also feeling like a a bit of a treat yourself kind of place. I got the chicken and dumplings and Mac and cheese, both of which were delicious. Now for the JoBros part. It's owned by the family of the Jonas Brothers, and inspired by their great-grandmother. But if you're not a fan of theirs, don't worry. The restaurant isn't Jonas Brothers themed. You wouldn't even know until you get into the hallway leading to the bathroom, which is covered in really cool Jonas Brothers pictures and memorabilia. As a fan, I really loved it. I had no idea of the connection when I got to the restaurant, and it was such a fun surprise to an already awesome dinner!

Yelp
Party of 5 was immediately greeted and seated. The ambiance was very modern and appealing. Everything was clean fresh and the decor was that of an upscale establishment. The service was amazing and the manager was super attentive and friendly. The food was brought out fresh and everything was to everyone's liking from the appetizers to the main entrees of burgers and fried catfish. I will definitely return if in the area to try different dishes.
google avatar

Leslie K.

Yelp
The chicken and waffles and brownie were amazing! I love Nellie's and the Jonas Brothers. Burger was excellent as well.

Glenn M.

Yelp
At 740 last night, I was turned away fr being seated. There were obvious spaces available but the manager, whose name was Dakota, told the person at the door not to seat any singles. The pathetic excuse was, "the kitchen was overwhelmed '. Poor babies. Wouldn't want such senstive stressed out staff to have to handle just one more order. Not my fault some incompetent manager didn't schedule enough staff. This was a bullshit indignity. To Nellie, Jonas Brothers, owners and managers: KISS MY ASS!!! Never going back. I don't expect anyone there to give a damn about their unprofessional, classless behavior to just one individual but I'm seeing to it that as many possible knows their poor little kitchen can't be relied upon and you are at great risk of being turned away.

Yelp
This place was so good for lunch today. The chicken & dumplings with the trinity corn was amazing. Service was wonderful and very attentive to detail. Highly recommend for Lunch and will be coming back for dinner very soon.

Yelp
Service was great, attentive and hospitable. Food was great, the fried chicken is great, no wonder why they are known nationwide for it. Collards were amazing, macaroni was good. This restaurant is owned by the father of the Jonas Brothers, really a gem.

Yelp
We had a pre-holiday weeknight dinner at Nellie's before heading to see the lights in McAdenville. The restaurant is tastefully decorated and very comfortable. Loved the custom cotton light fixture at the bar. The food was incredible!! We started with some biscuits and they were so flaky and delicious. The cinnamon butter that came with them was just so good. Yum!! We opted for fried chicken (dark meat) and different sides of macaroni and cheese, collards, and fries. I've been to a lot of Southern restaurants and this fried chicken is in my top 5 for sure. So nice and light not over breaded. The chicken was moist and tender and cooked perfectly. The sides were so good too!! We wanted to try dessert but we were too full to even attempt. Service was great. Very attentive but not pushy. We never had to wait for drink refills or anything else. Our server was friendly and helpful too. Definitely recommend a visit if you are in town.

Celine W.

Yelp
Service was amazing as well as the food! My go to meal is the shrimp and grits. One of our meals came out cold and the chef, Keith, took care of it without hesitation. We really appreciated that- definitely coming back again!
google avatar

Cynthia E.

Yelp
Ambiance was excellent; live music without it drowning out conversation; food was great with a good selection to choose from; our waitress was great but food was slow to come out. Peach cobbler was the best thing I ate!
google avatar

Jared W.

Yelp
Service was outstanding, but not as good as the food! I had the Shrimp & Grits, and my wife had the Cuban sandwich. What a meal. Very tasteful and the Cuban sandwich was better than you can get in Cuba. HIGHLY recommend.

Evelyn O.

Yelp
Food and service was great and Anton our waiter was so entertaining, helpful and attentive . If you go...ask for Anton!!

Yelp
I don't understand why there are so many 5 star ratings because our experience was sub par to say the very least. The rooftop is beautiful at sunset and great for people watching. Our waiter was friendly. They brought out a complementary appetizer of fried green tomatoes (random?) and those were probably the best thing we ate. The fried catfish was really dry and bland. The menu advertises "served with Coleslaw, French Fries & Tartar Sauce" but as you can see, we only got fries and ketchup beside the dry catfish. I ordered a grilled chicken cobb salad and was shocked to see how tiny it was. I was expecting a dinner portion but instead, it was the same size plate as our friend's side salad. Also the ranch tasted like it was out of a bottle from the grocery store. For $18, please give me some homemade ranch. Our friend ordered the ribeye steak (featured for $45!) and was very disappointed in the cook as well as the lack of char/flavor. I'm not sure, maybe we hit it on a bad night but it was definitely not a 5 star experience.

Jessica S.

Yelp
Food is absolutely amazing. First time coming in Friday night and have come back twice since. Fried chicken is amazing as is their south egg rolls
google avatar

Shamika C.

Yelp
Food, service, and live music was all great! My family is pretty particular about southern food and they were very pleased. We had fried chicken plate, fish plate, and fish and grits. Will have to get pictures next time.
google avatar

Kate M.

Yelp
Been here twice for dinner and then went for brunch the first time this past weekend. It's weird because they don't have a brunch menu, but there's chicken with waffles or French toast. The portions definitely have gotten smaller since I came last time- my salad was like the size of a appetizer house salad but was $20 and it was supposed to have grilled chicken on it and literally they had cut up four pieces from half a chicken breast. My friends all got the fried chicken with a side, and the sides were each in these tiny little containers on the plate. At least the biscuits were good and came with butter and jelly.
google avatar

Renee M.

Yelp
I went for sunday brunch and Nellies did not disappoit. I went to the belmont location and it was such a cute calming atmosphere. They have a musician playing the guitar. Our server John was so nice and attentitive. He checked on us but not to where it was worrysome. I got the Cajun Shrimp bowl and those flavors together were so good! They gave really nice size portions. I also got the okra appetizer and the banana pudding dessert. Everything was delicious. We had to tell the manager Jackie how great everything was because we really did enjoy ourselves. From the atmosphere to the service and food. Will def be back!
google avatar

Yelp
Just updating my review of Nellie's to reiterate just how GREAT my experience was! The crispy and moist fried chicken (white meat) was so well seasoned... flavorful throughout! There were nothing but pieces of bones left by the time i was done! The collard and artichoke appetizer was really good the last time I had it, but it was even BETTER this time. I think it's because they added cheesey bread with it this time that elevated the flavor even more! I'm already looking forward to my next visit to order the same things!! PS. Oh, and I can't forget our attendant Kayleigh. She was really good. Very friendly, and most importantly, she understood the importance of giving us time to enjoy the appetizer before entering the order for our main course. I SO appreciated that from her! Hoping she's there next time I go... I'll request to be seated in her section, if possible.

Yelp
Nellie's Southern Kitchen in Belmont is absolutely delicious! Everything I've tried tastes so fresh and flavorful, like true Southern cooking done right. The mac and cheese was to die for, perfectly baked. You can tell they put a lot of care into the ingredients and recipes because every bite feels homemade. The whole menu just hits that perfect balance of comfort food and quality. Easily one of my favorite spots around!

Felix I.

Yelp
A disappointing experience throughout. Our waiter mostly wanted to talk about the Jonas Brothers and had to be reminded that we needed to order drinks. Chicken and dumplings was a colorless bowl of mushy blobs. No crust on the dumplings. Just bare shreds of chicken. Others in our party felt their food was mid to worse.
google avatar

Ashley J.

Yelp
Food is great and the brunch is awesome because you can get a bottle of champagne for $20!! Atmosphere is great because they have live music and the service is good.
google avatar

Vicki B.

Yelp
Great service and good food. As a southerner from Bama, the catfish was delicious and the fried green tomatoes were very yummy. The place is a little noisy with the high ceilings and the tables close together but the restaurant was very nice.

Deb S.

Yelp
Belmont is just such a cute town, the ambiance of the restaurant just follows suit. The food was very good, wish I would have tried the peach cobbler.
google avatar

Dee W.

Yelp
Probably the best shrimp and grits I have ever had. The grits were incredibly smooth which is my favorite. The sauce was accentuated by diced tomatoes and made the whole entire plate taste amazing. The shrimp were huge and wells cooked. The polenta was the best I have ever had and I don't even like polenta but the fried crust was spot on. I tired one bite of the fried chicken and it was fine. The collard greens were pretty good and had a little sweetness to them with spice but I couldn't detect much spice. I would come again if I lived in this area.

Angela B.

Yelp
Great food and atmosphere! We are regulars! I love the pulled pork and pinto beans. They have live music as well.
google avatar

Paul N.

Yelp
My wife and I just moved to Belmont and we've been to Nellie's a few times now. It has a great rooftop and also a great inside dining room/bar. The food, drinks and service are spot on! I would like to particularly compliment JAMES who was our Server on the rooftop last time, and our Bartender last night inside at the bar. James is the epitome of Southern Hospitality. Friendly, attentive, funny, polite, and wow - he makes an amazing Old Fashioned!! Thanks to everyone at Nellie's, and a special thank you to JAMES for making our night fantastic.

Jamie F.

Yelp
Staff was very accommodating for our rehearsal dinner. Bartending service was exceptional. The cuisine was delicious and as the name implies ... southern style!
google avatar

Yelp
After visiting the Daniel Stowe Gardens we decided to drive to downtown Belmont for a quick bite. Nellies offers classic Southern cooking that is locally sourced  inspired by Nellie Jonas..Kevin Sr.s grandmother . Yes, part of the Jonas Brothers family! We decided to try their Pimento appetizer which was one of the few items that was GF. It is made with jalapenos and creme cheese which gives it a nice kick. It came with sliced veggies which could have been cut smaller but no crackers. I asked for crackers and they did not have any so the server suggested toast points. There was quite the wait to get them but they really made a difference even if they put an upcharge on the bill. I also decided to try a Sundrop which is a cross between Mountain Dew and Sprite in my opinion. Very refreshing.  Prices are somewhat high for what you get and they close at 2pm and reopen later for dinner. Make sure you walk to the bathrooms to see all the very Jonas Brothers music awards hung on the walls. When in the charming town of Belmont, stop in for a quick bite or just a drink...... Definitely worth trying.
google avatar

Annette M.

Yelp
We weren't very hungry so we shared the Pimento cheese appetizer with veggies for lunch and had drinks. Not many gluten free offerings but after all it is a Southern comfort food restaurant. Our waitress was friendly and informative about the story of the Jonas family history in Belmont. The manager also came over to talk about music with us. Overall a pleasant stop when in No. Carolina.

Morgan M.

Yelp
Recently my wife and I held our wedding reception at Nellie's and for a small personal event, it was perfect. Dee took such good care of us! We had just under 40 people in attendance and booked their rooftop terrace. They were extremely accommodating with how we wanted tables set up, the lights, decorations etc. We had the food catered from Nellie's obviously and had nothing but compliments. We got to set up an hour before and an hour after to take down. We were provided people to tend the bar. It was nice to be able to book in advance to pay as you go rather than having to pay all at once. 10/10 would recommend for a small gathering.

Polli M.

Yelp
Nellies was our choice for a place to celebrate two family member's birthdays. The apps came right to us and we enjoyed the biscuits and pimento cheese plate. But, we waited for well over an hour for our entrees to arrive. There was a 17 top table and that really jammed up the kitchen. The food was very good, but we were not happy with the long wait. The kitchen needs to be better managed to function well even with large parties. Will go back and hope for better service. ( I do want to say our servers were very apologetic and brought out a basket of biscuits for the table to enjoy....not really the best since we already had them as one of our apps)
google avatar

Tamica J.

Yelp
The service was excellent and the food is PHENOMINAL!!! Then the Manager CHAD came over to ask how things were and we couldn't stop singing praises! This is the FIRST restaurant that has delivered on the food for me! It was so good that I took a carryout for later. The ambiance is light and festive. Chad mentioned this restaurant is owned by the Jonas Brothers' parents. I will DEFINITELY be back! There is trivia on Tuesdays with menu specials. I'll be visiting the Las Vegas location soon and I'll report back on it. I'm expecting another AMAZING experience.
google avatar

Crystal R.

Yelp
Always a treat! We were lucky to sit in my favorite circular booth- which I last sat in for my birthday dinner with friends in February 2022, without even asking for the booth. And our server!! My favorite guy. He even remembers me. Service with a treat. Happy time! Great brunch! Had the French Toast. Expresso Martini. Yummmm No live music that Sunday but still a vibe.
google avatar

Karen A.

Yelp
Food was delicious. Started with Collard and Artichoke dip which was a great combo. The shrimp and grits did not disappoint. Others had the Freebird, Salmon and the grilled shrimp. Everyone said their food was delicious. Atmosphere and decor are beautiful. Love the history of Ms Nellie - the Jonas Brothers grandmother. Restaurants were started to honor her. Our waitress gave us the whole story and how she loves working for the family.

Rita A.

Yelp
Food took forever to arrive, we were there almost 2 hours and only got our food within the last 30-40 minutes, so were rushed as some of our party had other commitments. The chicken & dumplings were just ok, dumplings were doughy, didn't seem done, there was hardly any chicken in the dish and what was there was just strings, no pieces of chicken at all. Will probably not be returning.
google avatar

Heidi P.

Yelp
This place was way more than I thought it would be. Gorgeous inside, super comfy chairs and lots of memorabilia to see from the Jonas Brothers. Shrimp and Grits is where it's at! My husband got the chicken and dumplings with collard greens and said it's the best collards he's ever had. We also got the cheesesteak sandwich and Nashville Hot Chicken wings and biscuits. Everything was delicious! Service was good too, very informative for first timers.
google avatar

Bridget Y.

Yelp
Okay so this place has a cool back story and the service was good. It was clean and even for Sunday brunch it had a good atmosphere. The food in my opinion wasn't that great. My friend told me the biscuits were the best, and being a true southern woman I was excited. I love me some biscuits. However, they were dense pucks. Maybe I got a bad batch. But not a place I would go pay $100 before tip for four mediocre meals for brunch.
google avatar

Crysten C.

Yelp
Food was good. Service was good. Every other time I've been here, things have been great. But this time, they were out of more than half of their menu items, it took more than two hours from the time we were seated until we received our check. Service was slow despite them not being busy. I will be back and hope that they have the snags worked through.

Erica P.

Yelp
I was visiting Atlanta with my friends, and we met here. The staff was so polite and helpful. The food was delicious, and let me not forget the drinks!! It was a perfect night for every occasion.

Gary

Yelp
Great food Excellent service Relaxing vibe The above are the bullet points. Try it out you'll like it a lot. The meat loaf is dee-lish! Shrimp and grits are fantastic !

Tammy T.

Yelp
The food was good and the service was great. There was a delay in getting our food so they didn't charge us. To top it all off, dessert was on the house also. That was awesome.
google avatar

Dave C.

Yelp
This restaurant is very lively and has a good vibe. Though we would have preferred the guitarist not be so loud - we could barely keep a conversation - we did enjoy our overall experience. The server was busy, as the restaurant was packed, but she provided great and attentive service. We were well taken care of. After starting with the Pimento Cheese Fries my wife had the Grilled Shrimp Plate and I had the Fried Chicken. Both plates were delivered quickly and were thoroughly enjoyed. The chicken with its sides of Mac 'n cheese and collared greens was delicious. If you're looking for a quiet place to enjoy a meal this isn't it - at least on a random Thursday night. Nellie's is worth the visit but check ahead to ensure you get your preferred experience. The guitarist was simply too loud.

Yelp
Love this spot. My go to when I am in Belmont. The decor is my favorite part. Every little thing is there for a reason and is so cool. The food is equally is good. They are still using family recipes that make you feel like you are at your own Grandmother's house eating all the comfort food we love. The basket of biscuits is a given- fluffy and buttery don't pass them up. I love the chicken tenders- hand breaded and always juicy and crispy and the portion is bonkers big. I usually pass on the fries and substitute for the creamy slaw. My table also got the fried okra and it was the bomb. Highly suggest making reservations and go pronto.
