Best Vietnamese Restaurants in London | Eater London

"Nem Nem is a modern Vietnamese restaurant with impressive vegan options — offering plant-based alternatives to almost everything on the regular menu. The Vietnamese chicken salad is a standout: a well balanced mix of complex flavours and fresh herbs. Don’t miss the Hanoi sweet potato cake with prawns — a moreish regional dish that’s hard to find on the average menu." - Jennifer Trak

Charming restaurant with excellent service and bold flavours. I thought the lemon and kumquat kombucha was excellent! Very zesty. 😋 We enjoyed the spicy shiitake mushrooms and tofu aubergine curry the most, but everything was delicious and I hope to return again soon.

So many great vegan options! There is so so much to choose from. The staff were super friendly and helped us pick things they thought we would like. Everything tasted fresh and flavourful. We tried the vegan starter platter - the salt and pepper mock chicken is amazing. Also had the vegan pho which was perfect. Would definitely go back to try more of the menu.

Decent selection of vegetarian/vegan items on their menu. Ordered 3, and all of them were flavorful and yummy. Portions were decent for the prices in today’s time. Would love to come back again to explore more of their menu.

Love, love their food. However, it’s a cash only restaurant and the lady tells this to you before seating you. We were confident that we had enough cash. Unfortunately, our bills were already outdated, no longer in circulation. lol. Fortunately, there’s an ATM nearby or we would have to wash dishes. 😃 will defo come back as Angel is near where I usually crash during my visits to London.

The BEST vegan food you’ve ever had. I’ve been coming here for years due to the massive vegan selection, the vegan mango fish is out of this world. The vegan scallops are to die for. Such a great choice of foods. And such good prices. Starters, mains, rice and cocktails came to £29 each! Love love love ❤️

Good food, but a bit pricey for the portion size. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ We ordered the sweet potato cake and summer rolls to start, followed by the caramelised pork clay pot (my favourite) and mango fish for mains, along with one rice to share and two drinks. The food was okay, though I’ve had better Vietnamese at this price point. Portions were on the smaller side, so it didn’t feel like great value for money. That said, the staff were very friendly, and service was impressively quick—almost too fast! Overall, a decent experience but not necessarily a go-to for Vietnamese cuisine

This is a Cash only place. Delicious food with loads of vegan options. I had the vegan chicken cashew and vegan fried rice which was so yummy. My friend had the vegan tofu Bun sa salad which she loved. The ambience is fantastic as the decor is super inviting. We both had the blossoming tea: oriental beauty which was green tea, marigold and jasmine. It was lush and fun to watch the flower blossom. Staff are attentive and friendly.

Went here for a dinner and food was great. Highly recommend the spring rolls and pho- very flavourful broth and tasted authentic! The only thing is that the staff were perhaps a little too attentive and taking dishes away as soon as we put our chopsticks down but would overall recommend. There were also extensive vegetarian options

Yelp
We really enjoyed our food here. This was the second time I'd eaten here - first time was a take out and I enjoyed the summer rolls and chicken salad. Both very nice and filling. This time I went for the BÚN NEM THT NNG (Sliced Charcoal grilled pork & spring rolls on rice vermicelli and "Mam Dam" -Dipping fish sauce) and it was delicious. Bun is my favourite Vietnamese food and I tend to choose it a lot! This was a really good bun with a good flavour mix and fresh vegetables. The meat was deliciously chargrilled. Price wise, in line with Angel restaurants I would say. I would rate it as a ££ not a £££ as it is on Yelp.

Yelp
I went to Nem Nem on the recommendation of a vegan friend as they have a non meat menu. The food was atrocious. Slimy fake meat slices in a watery broth. They kept asking me to remind them of my order. They forgot to provide plates. I thought that it was dire. Never again.

Yelp
We were planning to eat sushi across the street, but the place was closed so we decided to have a dinner here. Nice decorations and ambiance but when the food arrived I was disappointed with the portion size - not enough for even one person, and the flavor. Everything we ordered was pretty much "meh". If you been in Hanoi or anywhere in South East Asia you know that each dish has so much taste and spices to it, but here they must be trying to blend in with bland British food. Prices were higher than you expect for the portion size. Won't recommend it to anyone.

Yelp
Had a wonderful meal here! Friendly staff, amazing and reasonably priced food. Highly recommend the "self-rolling table griddle beef" - unbelievably tasty and fresh. The pho was great too but wasn't blown away by it. Some of the better vietnamese food I've had that is reasonably priced.

Yelp
Good for the price. I've been walking past this place for ages, always wanted to try it out, and only did because the initial place we went to was fully booked. I had a Chicken Pho (my favourite Vietnamese dish). The broth was rather watery without much flavour. There really wasn't much to the additional ingredients. Filling, yes, tasty no. My friend had the grilled fish which she thoroughly enjoyed. So maybe it depends what you have. Check out other reviews and make your choice from there, as currently I'm. Sitting on the fence ;)

Yelp
Having read early reviews of this restaurant, I was a bit worried. But my experience was very different. The food tasted good, portion is huge! The chicken Pho i had here was the one with the most chicken meat I've ever had, and i am a big fan of chicken pho and tried many Vietnamese places in London. The silky tofu was really good and this set lunch menu - 10 pounds for two courses is not bad at all in the area. So either they've got a new chef or they've listened to the critics and improved. My only concern is the pho is a bit greasy like our Chinese food so if you are not into oily food you probably should mention that in advance

Yelp
So, this place has been open for about two months and I'm averaging a visit a fortnight. Clearly I'm enjoying it - given the many many choices on Upper Street and my desire to visit them all, Nem Nem is definitely worth a visit (or several in my case). The service is friendly, the decor is lovely, and the food is great. I'm a big fan of Bun Cha and this is a tasty offering. I also had Pho on a rainy Monday as it was clearly a soup day, and that was also very lovely. With all the options in Angel, I'm pleased to have Vietnamese added to the list, especially one that delivers food this good.

Yelp
Popped in here today on a lark and thought it might be a little fancy for a lazy lunch, but it was reasonably priced and really very good. We both ordered the classic pho with rare beef and broth was flavorful and rich, but still light. The summer rolls were a small portion, but tasty and fresh. I'd go again!

Yelp
Great meal, great value, great service. Had the chicken vermicelli noodle - could have done with a little bit more flavour.

Yelp
Not very authentic. Got a fly in my Pho broth. Overall not fantastic. There are many more authentic places out there.
