Fantastic range of vegan options with great taste at a very reasonable price. Their small plates are actually more like ‘medium’ do you don’t need too many for a meal. A few at our table ordered quite a few small dishes to share - a great way to sample the many different flavours and textures. Good for meat and fish eaters too.

Really delicious food and service was so warm and friendly! The menu was helpfully split in half denoting which options were vegan and non-vegan. Will be back. Don’t forget to bring cash :)

The food was unexpectedly good, I ordered the spicy scallops vegan noodle soup, the "scallops" was the best I've ever tried! My friend ordered the beef pho, he said it's good too. The atmosphere is good, service is good, and the price is reasonable. I will definitely come back!

Excellent vegan menu with varied and exciting dishes. The vegan scallops were sensational, as was the vegan duck curry. Summer rolls were really nice. Vegan bbq pork noodle salad was incred. Decent portion sizes for the price, big fake tree gave some quality ambience. We will be back!

Great Vietnamese restaurant in the heart of Islington. They have a great vegan/vegetarian selection. Finally a place in London where you pay for dinner and you leave full and satisfied. Portions are generous and food is really simple and fresh. It's cash only but there's an ATM at the post office right across the street. Definitely recommended.

Delicious, homely, fresh, colourful food. The pho was light yet filling. Highly recommend the Nem Nem platter, and the catfish dish too. Will be coming back asap!

So worth stopping by! So delicious I forgot to take pictures of all our food. Huge vegetarian/vegan selection. Definitely recommend the tofu pancake! I also really enjoyed the "chicken" in cashew with some egg fried rice. Absolutely delicious.

Ordered a platter which was mainly lettuce! on the menu as meal for 2 when discussing with the lady we believed was £9 to share was actually £18. It was mainly lettuce in different forms Also ordered the sweet chicken main meal and got a breaded chicken cut in slices, lettuce cut up tomatoe served on a small puddle of flavourless water with drops of honey for “sweet flavours” When we spoke with the waiter about the price of the platter he said everyone else in the resturaunt can read quite rudely when their menu has a unique layout running through however that particular one has it written smaller in brackets with the price for 1 person in bold making it misleading at a glance. Worst the “platter” was really 2 spring rolls & cold prawns wrapped in a lot of lettuce and a couple strips of calamari which was quite chewy The couple next to our table ordered soup which one of our parties also ordered and said it was flavourless. They drank some left some change and walked out. The coconut mocktail was awful we sent it back… service wasn’t great at all one particular gentlemen was quite rude. (he may of been the bartender with glasses) It was cold in there so we had to eat with our coats on. special fried / egg fried rice was okay however didn’t have much flavour. Needed salt. cash only which was inconvinient. Won’t be returning anytime soon. Ambiance was okay could have been better.

We really enjoyed our food here. This was the second time I'd eaten here - first time was a take out and I enjoyed the summer rolls and chicken salad. Both very nice and filling. This time I went for the BÚN NEM THT NNG (Sliced Charcoal grilled pork & spring rolls on rice vermicelli and "Mam Dam" -Dipping fish sauce) and it was delicious. Bun is my favourite Vietnamese food and I tend to choose it a lot! This was a really good bun with a good flavour mix and fresh vegetables. The meat was deliciously chargrilled. Price wise, in line with Angel restaurants I would say. I would rate it as a ££ not a £££ as it is on Yelp.

I went to Nem Nem on the recommendation of a vegan friend as they have a non meat menu. The food was atrocious. Slimy fake meat slices in a watery broth. They kept asking me to remind them of my order. They forgot to provide plates. I thought that it was dire. Never again.

We were planning to eat sushi across the street, but the place was closed so we decided to have a dinner here. Nice decorations and ambiance but when the food arrived I was disappointed with the portion size - not enough for even one person, and the flavor. Everything we ordered was pretty much "meh". If you been in Hanoi or anywhere in South East Asia you know that each dish has so much taste and spices to it, but here they must be trying to blend in with bland British food. Prices were higher than you expect for the portion size. Won't recommend it to anyone.

Had a wonderful meal here! Friendly staff, amazing and reasonably priced food. Highly recommend the "self-rolling table griddle beef" - unbelievably tasty and fresh. The pho was great too but wasn't blown away by it. Some of the better vietnamese food I've had that is reasonably priced.

Good for the price. I've been walking past this place for ages, always wanted to try it out, and only did because the initial place we went to was fully booked. I had a Chicken Pho (my favourite Vietnamese dish). The broth was rather watery without much flavour. There really wasn't much to the additional ingredients. Filling, yes, tasty no. My friend had the grilled fish which she thoroughly enjoyed. So maybe it depends what you have. Check out other reviews and make your choice from there, as currently I'm. Sitting on the fence ;)

Having read early reviews of this restaurant, I was a bit worried. But my experience was very different. The food tasted good, portion is huge! The chicken Pho i had here was the one with the most chicken meat I've ever had, and i am a big fan of chicken pho and tried many Vietnamese places in London. The silky tofu was really good and this set lunch menu - 10 pounds for two courses is not bad at all in the area. So either they've got a new chef or they've listened to the critics and improved. My only concern is the pho is a bit greasy like our Chinese food so if you are not into oily food you probably should mention that in advance

So, this place has been open for about two months and I'm averaging a visit a fortnight. Clearly I'm enjoying it - given the many many choices on Upper Street and my desire to visit them all, Nem Nem is definitely worth a visit (or several in my case). The service is friendly, the decor is lovely, and the food is great. I'm a big fan of Bun Cha and this is a tasty offering. I also had Pho on a rainy Monday as it was clearly a soup day, and that was also very lovely. With all the options in Angel, I'm pleased to have Vietnamese added to the list, especially one that delivers food this good.

Popped in here today on a lark and thought it might be a little fancy for a lazy lunch, but it was reasonably priced and really very good. We both ordered the classic pho with rare beef and broth was flavorful and rich, but still light. The summer rolls were a small portion, but tasty and fresh. I'd go again!

Great meal, great value, great service. Had the chicken vermicelli noodle - could have done with a little bit more flavour.

Not very authentic. Got a fly in my Pho broth. Overall not fantastic. There are many more authentic places out there.
