A Coffee-Obsessive’s Guide to Drinking the Best Coffee in Vancouver | Bon Appétit

"A bright, blond-wooded Gastown café with huge windows that create a sunny, welcoming room for anything from a quick snack to a leisurely meal; coffee is a focus, sourced from a rotating range of specialty roasters. The kitchen shines with dishes like a warm-spiced cauliflower hash topped with crispy fingerling potatoes and a poached egg, and a hearty Scotch egg for meat lovers; the pastry case rivals the city’s best, stocked with savory tarts, morning buns, danishes, croissants and a famously indulgent chocolate-cashew-sea-salt cookie." - ByChris Morocco

11 Best Coffee Shops in Vancouver | Condé Nast Traveler

"The owners of this top Gastown coffee bar set out to start a culture magazine, but ended up with one of the city’s top coffee shops instead. Unlike other top Vancouver coffee shops, Nemesis isn't a roaster. Rather, they buy from the best roasters around the world, and the baristas are famed for their pour-overs, which are all tailor-made at the brew bar. There’s also house-made apple cider, various teas, and kombucha on tap—and don't miss the pistachio cream kouign-amann, which one staff member has described as “super dangerous.”" - Jennifer Van Evra

Nemesis | Bon Appétit

"GO HERE: for Nemesis’ stellar coffee; lovely options for breakfast, lunch, and sweets; and a Scandinavian-inspired cafe design that makes the most of two huge walls with floor-to-ceiling windows. ORDER: a coffee from the current lineup (Five Elephant out of Berlin, if you see it); mushroom toast; and anything carby from pastry chef Daniel Munoz, like the million-layered kouign-amann. THE VIBE IS: stay-in-your-own-lane chill. The minimalist coffee mecca is popular for lunch, drinking solo with a book, or people-watching on a weekend morning as the Gastown crowd passes by. PRACTICAL STUFF: Open every day: Monday to Friday, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. (kitchen closes at 4 p.m.); and Saturday and Sunday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. —Lindsay Anderson" - Condé Nast

Friendly, organized, and has a wide selection of pastries. The entree options were unique. We got the green hash. The textures of the different vegetables, sauce, and poached eggs were out of this world. Great espresso too. Go if you can, it’s worth the wait.

Excellent coffee shop with quick service and delicious food. My partner said the long black coffee was the best coffee he has had in Canada so far (we are on week 3 of our trip!). Highly recommend lovely atmospheric coffee shop. Update: We returned for the brunch and the food was just as excellent. We had the sausage/eggs and the hash. The best brunch we have had so far.

Overall this place is very good. Staff very friendly. Order taker could have either needed more help or understand how to be more efficient. It was just a backed up line for a while. Ordered the sausage and egg breakfast. Ummm not very eye pleasing and the taste was so so. Got 3 pastries… The queen - very good Berry cheesecake cruffin - was ok Strawberry Pistachio danish - delicious!!!! ♥️ Decided to sit outside just cause it wasn’t as chaotic as it was inside. People were like are you sure you want to sit outside? If I didn’t then I wouldn’t have. Other than that I still dig this place and their matcha ube iced latte was spot on! 😋

The queuing logistics here are shockingly terrible. I arrived before 10am on a weekend and there were maybe 20+ people in line despite half the seats in the store and the patio being empty. Many groups didn’t realize you had to order at the counter first before sitting down and the one person handling the cash had to leave the cash and escort people back into the line multiple times. There are no menus posted around the line so everyone has to make their choices on the spot at the cash. Because people obviously ask for recommendations, as did I, it just made the whole process offensively inefficient. The online menu is also not up to date so don’t count on being able to order what you came for. The item I was looking forward to trying was no longer on the menu even though I saw it on their website, all after queuing for half an hour. The wasabi yuzu hojicha ginger beer was recommended to me since the drink I wanted was already sold out two hours after opening. I have no idea what the vision of this drink is. It tasted like I was drinking a concoction made with the condiments for sushi (wasabi and ginger). Experimentation for the sake of going viral perhaps. The french toast (which I ordered in place of the kaya toast that had disappeared off the menu) was extremely soggy and disappointing. Not only that but it was not even coated with egg, just a plain piece of toasted soggy bread, so it wasn’t even a french toast. Absolutely not worth the time and money. Look elsewhere for brunch options.

Tried the mortadella supreme. Bread was amazing, and baked to perfection. Was crispy and flaky, and of the right thickness. However, ham and cheese inside was not life changing. Ham may have been a little on the salty side while the cheese was not that noticeable. Egg was cooked to perfection as well, with a slightly wet yolk. Service was fast and efficient. Despite the nice bread, $13 is a little steep for overall quality.

Google
We had the mortadella breakfast sandwich that everyone talks about, 2 lattes and a blueberry danish. I can tell you, nobody talks about the blueberry danish and it was the best pastry that I ever had in my life and I live in Europe and go to Paris quite few times and nothing compares to it! It was unbelievable! Around 40CAD for everything with the tip included.

It's always an elevated experience here with great food and drink and friendly service. The shop has a warm and modern aesthetic with lots of seating, larger tables for groups, and smaller tables and a large communal table for smaller groups and singles. During busy hours they do assigned seating but they usually let you sit where you want when it's not too crowded. The baristas bring your food and drink to you with water and will clean up when you're finished. I've tried a lot of the tea drinks here and they are all great whether you go for straight up brewed tea or something specialty. I would say I like their tea better than the coffee, but I've only had the coffee once at another location in a flat white, so I might need a larger sample size to make a definite statement. The kitchen serves interesting and delicious brunch fare. The prices are up from average cafe prices, which is mostly fine since the food is very classy and prepared to order, but it's always kind of depressing to pay $14 for one slice of avocado toast. The baked goods are also creative and very good. The cinnamon scroll didn’t really do anything for me, but I really like the griffins and cookie that I tried. Aside from the few savoury options, the croissants and cruffins are of the more indulgent/desserty variety. Everything on the menu changes seasonally so there are always new flavours.

We had breakfast at the cafe on a very hot morning this summer and their Danish pastries were very delicious 🤤 and a little expensive compared to Tokyo but 2 times larger!! The potato salad with poached egg was a really small dish but goooood!!

Yelp
Nemesis is hands down one of my fav cafes in Vancouver. This was my first time visting the Gastown location though! I went on a Saturday morning/afternoon and there was a crowd but we were seated in about 25mins. The space is not as big as their GNW location but it's still good enough for a small group. I got their tiramisu croissant which is one of my fav, they don't skimp out on the filling and it's so decedant. Also got their chocolate croissant which was pretty good! For savoury I got their mortadella, no words to describe how good it is. For drinks, I tried their new coconut iced coffee because it sounded so unique and I love coffee. I should say I didn't like it as much as I hoped I would, it wasn't too bad but I didn't think the coffee and coconut flavours went too well together. Overall, Nemesis still ranks as one of my top cafes in Vancouver.

Yelp
I'd had Nemesis bookmarked for a while and finally had the chance to check them out on a recent trip to Vancouver. My hubby & I always seek out the best local coffee shops anywhere we go, and although we already had a few favorite spots in Vancouver, we also wanted to try some new ones. We actually landed at YVR, hopped on the Canada Line into the city, and walked over to Gastown! We were greeted by one of the best matcha lattes we've ever had, awesome coffee, and standout customer service. Instant fans over here! The employees are friendly and welcoming, and even instantly brought out 2 glasses of water to where we were about to sit. Such a simple yet highly appreciated touch! They also brought out our drinks to our table versus most places that call out your name to pick them up at the counter. The cafe itself is beautiful and pretty relaxing despite it being a bustling shop. Lots of natural wood accents, clean lines, and plants hanging from the ceiling. We loved it so much we came back again the next day! Seriously their matchas are heavenly: high quality matcha, not overly sweet, slight nutty flavor, and super comforting and delicious with the steamed oat milk. I make matcha lattes at home regularly so when we get them out and about, we can't help but be "matcha snobs!" I guess the same can be said about us and espresso too ;) Great experience and a new favorite for us in Vancouver! Also wanted to give a shout out to one of the friendliest and nicest people working there: Mariah. Thank you for the being so kind!

Yelp
**3 stars because the coffee, but the pastries would be 4 stars!! stopped by around 10AM on a monday. found street parking out front. it was pretty full and most tables were taken. there was a line to order. ordered the strawberry and pistachio croissant and the tiramisu croissant. these were so tasty!! perfect sweet treat to start the morning. not too sweet, just right. would love to come back to try their other pastries. the iced coffee with oat milk was just okay. saw good reviews about the coffee so was a bit disappointed. :/ overall a good experience. would recommend trying out!

Yelp
Not a local but had a few coffee places this trip and boy am I excited to come back to this place. This is my ideal coffee shop experience. Firstly, the coffee is dang good, iced latte perfection. Also tried the seasonal brown butter chai which was scrumptious and would be perfect for a fall or winter day. Also got a breakfast sandwich Ambiance is quaint, cute, perfect. Service is so kind- order at the counter and they will tell you where to sit. They automatically set up the table for you with water and give table service. Literally incredible.

Yelp
Came in at 10am on a Monday and it was quite busy. We got the tiramisu croissant and strawberry pistachio danish which were both 10/10! I had high hopes for the coffee- I ordered an iced latte with honey (they don't have flavored syrups but do have honey and simple syrup), but I'm not sure if it was just a one off thing but my coffee was watery and sour- couldn't taste the honey at all it just tasted really sour overall which was disappointing. Would definitely come back for the pastries and to try the other drinks still

Yelp
I got a pour over coffee and lemon meringue croissant. Great coffee, great pastry. This place lives up to the online hype I read. Service, however, needs reorganization. They had one line for all orders and clearly a lot of people wanted to dine in. The guy who was running the register was also tending to tables. Which is why the wait was so long. They should have two different lines and/or keep employees to a specific role, not multiple different roles.

Yelp
Came here because my gf saw the croissant breakfast sandwich. Overall it was really tasty. The mustard was ok, but would maybe get it without next time. The strawberry pastry was delicious, but it seemed like it was sitting for a while. Would have been incredible if it was fresh. All the staff were amazing, even though it was super busy. Overall a good experience but mayyybe overhyped. Food: 4/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Marcels foodie score: 4.3/5

Yelp
I ordered the seasonal drink cuz it sounded cool but it was mid Also ordered sausage and eggs cuz I thought it was a sandwich but it was actually sausage and eggs which is my fault cuz I'm illiterate but it was mid too
google avatar

Yelp
The matcha latte was soothing and wasn't too sweet at all. The smoked salmon on toast was very delicious and the wait was worth it since there's a line for a reason. Overall, I would return just for the experience.

Yelp
Nemesis Cafe has absolutely stolen my heart (and my taste buds!). My partner and I find ourselves drawn back almost every other weekend, and for good reason. While their menu offers a fantastic variety, there are two absolute standouts that keep us coming back. The Tiramisu Croissant is an otherworldly creation - seriously, it's out of this world! And don't even get me started on their Coffee Mocha; it's so incredibly good it almost seems too good to be true. If you're in Vancouver and looking for a truly exceptional cafe experience, Nemesis Cafe is, hands down, the best. You won't be disappointed!
google avatar

Madison J.

Yelp
This is a popular place. There is a decent amount of sitting, but that can quickly fill up on the weekends. The coffee and food came out pretty quick. The aesthetic of the place is great. They do not have menus posted though, I believe this is to ensure the lines continue to move. I had to take a picture and then go back to order.
google avatar

Rachel N.

Yelp
Solid matcha and pastries! Seating is quite limited but they will quickly clear a table for you if you let them know that you're planning to dine-in when ordering at the counter. The strawberry croissants are very popular and the location is in the heart of Gastown. Avocado toast is also very well made.
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing. Food was spectacular and drinks were yummy. We sat outside and it was a perfect day to breathe in fresh air and enjoy breakfast. The service was friendly and they bring your items to your table right after ordering.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try Nemesis Coffee for so long and I took the first opportunity I got & it did NOT disappoint. Parking is a bit hectic since it's downtown but I was able to find parking by Simon Fraser Uni. The interior was beautiful and the lighting was one of a kind. I really enjoyed the ambience and the noise level as it just seemed like the coffee shop was bustling with excitement! I got their regular espresso with Ethiopia beans and it was fantastic. The aroma and fragrant taste along with the velvet consistency was too awesome! I also ordered the tiramisu croissant which was also a hit with my friend and I. The crispiness of the croissant was much appreciated and the tiramisu was perfect. Some other notable dishes we got were the cinnamon swirl and avocado toast but there weren't anything special. I'd definitely recommend nemesis if you are in the area and I am coming back every single time!

Yelp
Wanted to try the best coffee shops on my little Vancouver trip and Nemesis seemed like a great place to try! Came to this location and there was a bit of a line, but it wasn't quite as bad as it looked from the outside. The wait was a little long but not ridiculous. Lots of people dining in. I can see why because it's cute in here and they clearly put effort into presentation! I can't resist a seasonal special so I got their Americano coconut water rice drink, not sure what the name of it was. My husband got a mocha with an extra double shot of espresso. My drink looked so cool! But more importantly, tasted delicious. I love coconut and the cloud on top was the perfect touch. My husbands mocha was very strong, just like he wanted! I also got the pull apart croissant which had chive cream cheese in it and everything bagel seasoning on top. Shared it with my son and we crushed it. Amazing. Baristas were super nice too. Glad I got to visit here, I'll be recommending to anyone I know visiting Vancouver!

Yelp
Decided to try this place and NO REGRETS! Make sure when going here, try to go early because when we went there it was soo busy, and they ran out of the tiramisu croissants :( - We got the mortadella and when I tell y'all it was so amazing. I honestly hate breakfast sandwhiches with a passion, but this one is a game changer. So flakey, but yet most in the middle with that runny yolk. YUM. -burnt honey croissant: really good, was expecting it to be super soft but it was alright. I loved the cream. The apple danish was okay. -Latte: the Ube matcha latte was pretty good, we wish it was a little sweeter. -service and ambiance: the service was great. The ambiance was amazing, just like every coffee shop. -prices: a little pricier but it's worth it! The mortadella itself earned the full five stars. So bomb.
google avatar

Thu P.

Yelp
I got a mortadella croissant and cornflake cookie here. The mortadella croissant was good, but my expectations might have been too high. The croissant had a nice texture, but there was not enough mortadella in the ratio. The yolky egg overpowers the flavours a bit. I also didn't particularly like the sauce that accompanies.. Just a preference thing! However, the cornflake cookie I got was phenomenal. It was also huge! Definitely worth the price for a premium small batch cookie. Next time I come, I want to try all their cookie flavours!!! Service is quick considering how many people were there and how many people were lined up. It's a very casual cafe, but it's really bustling in there. It looked like you'd have to go very early or be lucky to get a seat.
google avatar

Sadaf S.

Yelp
Quite honestly the best and most unique breakfast sandwich I've had! The crispy, buttery croissant "bread" is what makes this perfect! I substituted the meat for avocado. Just one bite into this yolky, crispy, buttery goodness and I knew this was my favorite item in Vancouver. If I could have I would have had this every day. Still dreaming about it! We tried one of every pastry because they all looked so good!!! The pistachio croissant tastes like bakhlava! The mango matcha ube croissant was out of this world. The apple tart and chocolate chip cookies were delicious. Their coffees were great too!
google avatar

Jaeden W.

Yelp
Very great coffee and food, I've enjoyed everything I've ordered here. Worth the expensive price tag. Can be slow service, I would recommend getting a table.
google avatar

Katie H.

Yelp
Excellent coffee and pastries. There was a line out the door but it was totally worth the wait! We got pastries and coffee to go and it didn't take too long. They have some unique offerings in the pastry case so I needed that time to decide! I ordered the featured drip coffee and it was well balanced with good flavor. For pastries, we went with the strawberry & pistachio danish and the cardamom & pear cruffin. The cruffin was a standout for me - flaky pastry filled with well-spiced pear and the cardamom whip on top was perfection. And the stamp on the to go bag was so cute. :) Definitely want to go back and try more...especially the croissants!

Yelp
Nemesis Coffee is a chain in Vancouver and I've heard so many great things about how good their products are and how aesthetic the cafes are. So when I visited Vancouver in Oct 2022 with my partner, I knew I had to pay a visit. Make sure to come early, since there was a line out the door especially on a Sunday morning! We were able to snag a table inside and ordered our drinks and pastries. My partner is super particular about his croissants and he enjoyed his regular croissant so much that he bought a few extra to bring home to the bay area. We tried the Tiramisu Croissant - the croissant was perfectly crispy and flaky, and there was definitely a lot of coffee cream filling inside. My order I opted for the strawberry cheesecake, and it was also the balance of not too sweet as well and plenty of filling inside. I can't wait to come back to try more of their Instagrammable croissants!
google avatar

Emily H.

Yelp
Nice spot, great service with super friendly and kind staff. There's pretty ample seating, with a large community table. All the bakery items were delicious!
google avatar

Alisa B.

Yelp
So many people rave about the breakfast sandwich here and I was pleasantly blown away by how good it was. The croissant as sandwich bread was great! Crispy, buttery, and not too greasy. The filling was high quality and the egg was surprisingly my favorite part! Sooooo yummy. I highly recommend the Mortadella Supreme! I also couldn't help myself and got a Tiramisu Croissant. The balance of the perfectlt buttery croissant shell and the coffee cream at the center was spectacular. Topped with the sweet whipped cream too? I LOVE IT!
google avatar

Renny K.

Yelp
Phenomenal!!! Their building is absolutely breathtaking ~ We ordered their pistachio spiral croissant and pull apart bread. It would've been nice if we asked them to heat it up - but oh well! Bought two of their coffee beans and each bag you buy comes with a free cup of coffee which is nice :) their maple hojicha is also really good! An absolute must try!

Yelp
Our first stop after departing from the airport was Nemesis. I seen 3 different reels and TikTok's about this place while compiling a list of things to do for a long weekend trip. I ordered the cashew chocolate chip cookie and a matcha to start. The cookie was light and chewy while the matcha was simple and cozy for my belly. Then my man came in from parking and ordered "The Queen." It was salty and sweet either way a soft interior and an extra crunch on the bottom that was caramelized. He said he knew it was a great choice because it was short stock. Our sandos were delicious and light thanks to the croissant bun that they clearly perfected. It held up very well to the last bite. I loved the yolk bursting from the sandwich.
google avatar

Shefali B.

Yelp
Loved this place! I came here for the first time on a Monday morning in November. It was about a 10min walk away from my hotel on the Waterfront. The service was great, and the food was even better. I got a Flat White Coffee, Plain Croissant, Pistachio Swirl and a Mortadella Sandwich. All of it was so tasty and fresh!
google avatar

Geoffrey T.

Yelp
This is one of our favorite "go to" places for coffee and a nice, light breakfast or treats. They have great baked goods from Dope bakery. They have fresh food choices that are delicious and different. This morning, we had a cortado and a pour over (Columbia Narino). We also had a chocolate croissant (shared it) and the green hash and the sausage and eggs dish. Service is really friendly and professional. The space is well lit with hanging baskets made of canvas with plants. There is seating outside as an option too. In addition to coffee and food, you can buy their beans to take home. I recommend that.

Dez V.

Yelp
Ordered the strawberry pistachio pastry, it was very delicious. It had a filling inside that was flavorful . I got to try the tiramisu croissant as well and it was very good, it had filling inisde as well. Service was great and staff was very friendly and helpful.
google avatar

Nora J.

Yelp
Stopped here to get coffee on the way to Stanley park! I ordered the matcha ube latte. When I got it, I realized I didn't order it iced. I asked for a cup of ice but instead they made me a new drink which was super sweet. All of my friends liked their drinks too which ranged from a cappuccino to a mocha to drip coffee to a single espresso shot. Despite us coming around 12pm and it being a bit busy, we all got our drinks about 5-10 minutes after ordering. Their pastries, especially their croissants looked yummy. There was a lot of inside and outside seating. Would come here again if I was in Gastown.
google avatar

Anna A.

Yelp
I got iced Matcha Ube latte, strawberry pistachios danish and green breakfast. It was amazingly delicious. The service was excellent and efficient. This cute coffee shop is trendy and cute. I totally recommend this place.
google avatar

Gloria K.

Yelp
The architect in this cafe is beautiful which is what drew my attention. Coffee and pastry was just okay. I'd say it's worth a visit just for the vibes but not a place if you want good coffee.
google avatar

Yelp
freaking love nemesis. every single thing ive tried has been a banger the chocolate almond croissant is truly life changing, legit best croissant of my ENTIRE LIFE. the coffee is obviously delicious and i also recommend the chocolate cashew cookie. theyre always busy but those trendy matcha tote bag boys are so on top of it.

Yelp
We came here on a Sunday mid-morning where the area was dead but the coffee shop was busy. It was a line out the door where we were not allowed to take any seats until we ordered and the cashier will assign you with seating if you're dining in. We didn't know so they told us that immediately with a bit of an attitude. The vibe was a modern hippy style where the staff was hit or miss. If you weren't someone they cared to chat with, they kept it minimal. No smiles. They did have a kitchen in the back to make the simple breakfast options but we only got a few coffee and a cowboy cookie which was massive. Drinks: Matcha Ube latte with Oatmilk wasn't spectacular to be better than every other place in Vancouver serving it. Honduras Rene Fernandes was distinctive pour over - had good flavors and was decently strong; I was content with it for my primary drink (black only). Ice Hot Cocoa - accommodated us adding iced for the kids and it was rich and sweet. It was just right! Iced Americano - they didn't have any cold brew, so they suggested this which was well made for anyone needing something cold and the strength of a good ol' caffeine.

Yelp
Came here for breakfast. Went in right when they opened so there was no wait. The drinks and foods were okay.

Yelp
Before starting a biking adventure around Stanley Park, my husband and I stopped at Nemesis Coffee to fuel up. We placed our order at the counter and were assigned a small booth to sit in. The space itself is a mixture of modern and throwback, giving it a very unique vibe. I decided to try their avocado toast while my husband ordered their Ruben croissant. He ordered a classic black Americano while I tried their matcha tea latte. Both our food and our beverages came out quickly. The avocado toast was unique and quite tasty. The Matcha latte was warming on a cold morning, but I should have ordered something with a little more caffeine kick. All in all, a nice coffee shop located near Gastown.

Yelp
This place did not disappoint. Regardless of how long the lines were to order and be seated, they were moving fairly quickly. Restaurant is very clean and great service. They were SO busy at this location but service was top notch. Variety of pastries to choose from. They have a great selection of coffee and breakfast items. I could not resist the tiramisu croissant! It was so good. Inside was infused with coffee and top had mascarpone cream which complemented the yummy fluffy croissant. Do not share this Green hash was simple yet filling. Came with veggies, greens and poached egg. Green sauce was good. Lattes were yum. Not watered done made with good coffee beans. They have seatings inside and outside. No reservations and you have to order to be seated. Highly recommend this place.

Yelp
I've been trying to go through my Vancouver coffee list every time I'm in town, and next on the list was Nemesis. We stopped in for breakfast and got the bodega sando, green hash, seasonal summer cruffin with meringue, and two lattes. All delicious, and in a peaceful and quiet cafe no less.
google avatar

Yelp
I got their TIRAMISU CROISSANT (3/5), the croissant almost felt a day old, softer and not flaky buttery fresh. Decent filling, wish it had more coffee flavour. I did hear lots of good things about their mortadella cheese egg croissant sandwich, but didn't get to try it this time! I also tried the PORK BELLY EGGS BENNY (4/5) super good, definitely indulgent and saucey. The BREAKFAST SANDWICH (3.5/5) was a little sad looking compared to the plating of the other dishes. But overall tasty, just nothing blowing it out of the park.

Yelp
Came from California and this place was highly recommended and I found out why! Location: not the biggest space so keep in mind, tables are limited and they're very busy! We managed to keep a table within no wait but we do now once we left others had been waiting a minute. Service is quick and friendly though! You'll order what you want at the front and they'll take everything to your table once seated. I had a very delicious breakfast sandwich however the real winner for me was the Strawberry Cruffin! Goddess I could eat 10 of these if I could. I highly recommend getting a cruffin! 100/10. My friends enjoyed their food as well, my friend highly recommend their Matcha Ube Latte.

Yelp
Snooty barista, watered down cheap coffee, dirty washroom with no inside lock, dirty tables, no packets of sugar or stevia out (share a nasty spoon and jar of sugar with the world) expensive overpriced crappy experience. Took 3 sips and chucked it out. Go to Starbucks and you'll at least get a decent cup of hot coffee served by someone trained in customer service. Negative stars.

Yelp
Ohhhh that strawberry danish. I'll be dreaming about it until I get it again. So good. The mint leaf addition was perfection. Coffee was actually the best we've had in Vancouver (we've tried top 5). I love that they don't have syrups and flavors, maybe that's why they're healthier in Canada lol

Yelp
Been seeing this place in people's reviews, especially their Mortadella Sandwich. To be honest, it tastes so so good. Love the taste and the crunchy side of this. But I can't say the same for the coffee. The coffee temp is waaaay too hot so we only taste bitter. Service was just questionable but when we told them the coffee's too hot, they just shrugged and walked off. Same goes with the pour over, it's over-heat. I would come back just for the sandwich, not the coffee though.

Yelp
Great coffee. Friendly service. Plants plants plants. One of the cutest cafes in the area to get some work done or just hop in for a quick caffeine fix

Yelp
We are exploring Vancouver and were really looking forward to this place based on reviews. I'm from Portland, Oregon so I know and love great coffee. I went with my mom and my aunt, who both do not frequent local coffee shops and have been getting the same thing at Starbucks for decades. Connor took our order and was very patient and gave great suggestions when they had absolutely no idea what to order. Sometimes in a busy coffee shop baristas can seem frustrated and pretentious when you have questions about the menu. Def recommend this place if you're in the area!

Yelp
I stopped into Nemesis while visiting Vancouver and it was the best decision ever! The short rib benny is a MUST try if you are a Benedict fan. I also tried their golden bun which doesn't look as delicious as it was. It's a good choice if you don't want to get too explorative with your food. They do have tons of pastry options to try though. I ordered the Honduras pour over and it was just absolutely fantastic. 10/10 The service was efficient and helpful. The coffee shop itself is not too big but not small and the atmosphere was very chill and upbeat at the same time.

Yelp
Stopped in for Sunday brunch and it was hopping. We gladly took a seat and enjoyed our feast. Everything was absolutely delicious. The chocolate croissant was so flaky and fresh. The avocado toast was phenomenal, not like any regular avocado toast, this one is special. The short rib dish was really rich, it was tasty, but hands down the avocado toast won. The chai latte was great. If you are near or pass this by, definitely stop in. The line speaks volumes. It's worth a notice.

Yelp
What started as a pop in on the recommendation of the Condé Nast team turned into a weeklong love affair! The pastries and sandwiches are beyond delicious -can't miss. Out of all of the Vancouver breakfast spots I tried, this one became a fast favorite, and I may have gone back every day... :-) The team was awesome. Incredible all round!!

Yelp
Nemesis coffee was the first place i wanted to visit as soon as I arrived in Vancouver. Went around the afternoon and it was packed to the max! Outside was cold and inside was super warm. There were no windows open and it was so stuffy. Not even the AC was on or anything. Luckily they had tables outside to sit. They no longer sell the cruffins anymore.... or had those spiral croissants (by the time I was there) which is heart breaking. I settled for the cinnamon pastry which was a great option! Asked for it to be warmed up and it was perfect. They call out your order outside as well which I appreciated. Their restrooms are super tiny, but they have 2. Service was amazing. The only reason why Im giving 3 stars is because it was super stuffy which was off putting when waiting in line, and they sold out of the spiral croissants/no longer sell cruffins...
