"Neon Kitten opened quietly earlier this month at 2805 Main Street, in the former Beauty Bar space. The cocktail lounge focuses on Japanese spirits and small bites like sushi, dumplings, and izakaya-style food. The bar is a project from newly-minted Dallasite Bhuvanesh “Bob” Khanna, who initially landed in the city in 2019 to help open the Hall Arts Hotel in the Arts District. During the pandemic, Khanna began to dream up his own spot inspired by his many travels. In a press release, he said he was specifically inspired by the laid-back drinking dens he found in Hawaii. “You could eat dim sum at any time, Japanese spirits were used in abundance in cocktails, and always served in a casual, fun, and welcoming environment.” Certain aspects of Neon Kitten were designed with the pandemic in mind. The bar’s patio features a number of cocktails on tap as well as a canning system, allowing drinks to be sold to go or for on-site consumption. Drinks include the Fukuoka, made with Nikka whisky, vanilla and soya sauce; and the Sapporo, a citrusy cocktail with mandarin liqueur, lemon, Nikka, and Michter’s Bourbon. Food-wise, expect dishes like prawn and pork siu mai, shrimp har gau, and all manner of dumplings, including pumpkin, mushroom, and edamame. Bites, which are also available for take-out, range from $6-12, and cocktails range from $12 to $20 for the higher-end drinks. Once Neon Kitten finds its groove, Khanna also plans to open a speakeasy bar behind the main lounge. Called Blackbird Society, it’ll be reservation-only, and will serve flights of cocktails and Japanese whisky. Blackbird society is expected to open in the middle of October. Right now, Neon Kitten is open 5 pm to midnight Wednesday and Thursday; until 1 a.m. Friday and Saturday, and until 10 p.m. Sunday. Reservations are recommended via Tock." - Brittanie Shey

We got really lucky eating here Sunday evening. There was no wait at all. In fact, the place was empty. Usually I'd take that as a bad sign, however, the food and service was great. My favorite was the morel shrimp dumplings and salmon sushi. Delicious!! Service was great and friendly. It was good, but I doubt I'll come for a second visit since there was only 2 memorable food items for me; but that doesn't mean you shouldn't try it.

Parking is a beast in the area although the parking lot wasn't too far a walk. We actually passed the restaurant since there wasn't a sign. When you walk in you're greeted by all the customers and staff members so forget about shying away, there's no time. We had outdoor seating but it was rather cozy and great for hanging out especially if your party is a little louder. We ordered their infamous cocktail served in a Hello Kitty. So cute, we got our IG worthy photos and Snaps for days. Servers were nice. We ordered a little bit of everything. The cocktails were definitely the main attraction and food was for eating during or after a few drinks.

The place is beautiful and the drinks are even more esthetically pleasing. The bartenders were helpful and made some delicious drinks. They have a wide variety of liquor to choose from. They apparently have a speakeasy bar in the back, I believe it's only open on weekends. We didn't try any food but judging by other reviews it's amazing. We will without question come back here.

Let me tell you this place passes the vibe check. The playlist they had playing was so fire. I also loved that their was a DJ that came in later to turn the place up. I went on a Sunday around Brunch time. The Bartender was so fire! He made out drinks super fast and overall was just cool. I also loved that there was this secret looking room in the back. This spot is just overall dope. I will be going back!

One of the best meals and dining experiences that I have had lately. We arrived and were immediately greeted and seated. We had some amazing cocktails served creatively and thumbs up to the mixologist! The food was stellar! Each dish continued to wow me. The dumplings were some of the best that I’ve ever had. When you visit, you have to ask about the secret menu. You will be very happy that you did. Happy eating!

At first I thought Neon Kitten was all IG hype. Now I'm convinced it's one of my favorite new bars in Dallas. The cute decor, friendly service and unique food and drink options make for a great stop. I wish their patio was as cool as the rest of the building but it doesn't change my thoughts on the place.

So far the best place in Dallas! The food was amazing and the bartender is generous with the pour. I had the chicken and waffles, the waffles were perfect and the chicken was just right. However the star of the meal was the side of grits!!!! I will for sure go back just for those....ORDER THE GRITS! The restaurant itself was well appointed and trendy. The staff was very friendly and always checked to make sure you were doing ok. The owner, Im guessing it was the owner, greets you at the door and makes sure everything and everyone are ok. Also there is a speak easy behind the bookcase. Put this place on the list.

Went for their Valentines day event and the music was extremely loud; to the point we had to yell to talk. The food was good but I not the best compared to other locations. The drinks were strong and would definitely recommend as a drinking spot if the drinks weren’t so expensive. The steak was my favorite part of the food.
