Yelp
So our first attempt at eating here was a fail unfortunately, but that's only because it's such a popular place and you need to make reservations before you go. That seems to be the theme for most of the popular restaurants in the area.
When we walked in, we where greeted by a very friendly hostess who had a brief chat about make-up with my wife. So, that kicked things into a comfortable atmosphere right out the gate for us. Unfortunately, from that point on, things got a little disappointing. Our waitress was very friendly and I know it wasn't her fault at all that we had trouble ordering. To start off with, the drink menu listed on the website is quite different than the current menu accessed using the QR code. It blows my mind that the drinks on the old menu couldn't be made, assumingely due to the fact that many of the ingredients were not there, which our waitress confirmed. So I ended up ordering the Rose Mule, for $14 instead of $12 that was on the website. Less complicated of a drink and more money; again, blows my mind. When it came out, it looked nothing like any of the drink photos here on Yelp. It came out in a raggedy copper cup with chopped paint and it tasted like a Plain Jane Mule to me. Then, when deciding on an appetizer/ entree, my wife was already put off but we decided to share the Animal Lover's Pizza for $19 since something she asked for on the apps was not available that day (can't remember what it was at the moment). As our server informed us of the specials of the day, the pizzas sounded great, a cheeseburger pizza and a Hawaiian pizza. At the same time, she let us know that they were out of the vegan bacon, which was one of the main ingredients in our pizza. Since my wife was disappointed in that as well, she asked what the seasonal dessert was. Server said it was chocolate cake, which wasn't seasonal at all, as it is listed on the menu. When inquiring further, she let us know that it was an apple crumb cake with caramel drizzle, but was also out. Womp womp. She came back to the table a few minutes later and said they had one slice left. At that point, we just decided to share the pizza and leave. When the pizza arrived, I will tell you that this is what gave the restaurant 4 out of 5 stars (instead of like 2 out of 5). Along with the ambiance, the food is actually quite good. I wish we wouldn't have had such a bad experience because I know my wife would have enjoyed so many other items on the menu. I'm hoping we are able to return at some point and this experience is redeemed.
