Neopol Savory Smokery

I recently visited Neopol inside Union Market and had a great experience. The staff is friendly and attentive, and while someone might tell you it’s the best bagel sandwich they’ve ever had, I wouldn’t go quite that far—though it’s definitely good! I highly recommend the smoked salmon BLT; it’s a standout. On weekends, seating can be a bit scarce, but if you visit during the week, there’s usually plenty of space. Prices are reasonable, and the service is quick. Definitely worth a stop!

Well, I have to start by saying it was super disappointing to order online, ride my bike there for what was kind of a while, and then find out that the main sandwich I ordered wasn't available even though it let me order it online right when they opened (meaning they knew they didn't have the shrimps but they listed it online for sale). Instead of the shrimp salad sandwich, I had an egg salad sandwich which was a bit pedestrian, fairly unremarkable. But the salmon BLT was solid, fresh tomato, lettuce and onion with a generous amount of salmon, though the salmon itself could have been a touch less dry. It was remedied by the aioli. Good enough I'll give it another try next time I'm at UM but this time they betta have my shrimp salad!

The menu here looks so boring, but they serve the best food in Union Market. Smoked Salmon BLT - Berkshire Bacon, Smoked Salmon, Mixed Greens, Tomato & Aioli. This sandwich is amazing. I typically don't even like smoked salmon or BLT, but theirs are incredible. Flavor & texture are great; Their sauce mixes so well here. Their portion's also pretty generous. You honestly can't go wrong with this sandwich.

I absolutely love the smoke flavor in the food here. If you like mussels, this place does them best - smoky, slightly sweet flavor! On this visit I tried the Smoked Salmon salad sandwich and added bacon to it and it was divine! I gave them 4 stars for service because they are very nice and seems like they try to be accommodating but the service can be a little slow at times. Oh and I will add that all their sandwiches seem to come with tomato, lettuce and onion but it doesn't say it on the menu (unless I missed it) so if you don't like those things ask for it to be removed from your order. Lastly this ginger iced tea was good and refreshing also. Its sweet though so be prepared for that.

Updates Still great quality food and good price Service went down... but overall still happy with this place! ___ I had Smoked Salmon BLT and it was good. Instead of thin sliced smoked salmon, they use crushed oven smoked salmon which i thought interesting. I tired Mussels but i wouldn't recommend it. It was rather bland and bit sweet from honey. Service was very quick. Also, i wanted my sandwich on the bagel but i wasn't even asked about the bread. I got wheat bread but i really wanted bagel. They also seem like they close earlier than the business hours posted on Google.

The salmon BLT and Avocado BLT was simply amazing. Real talk. I wasn’t stuffed or felt tired after. The grilled mussels aren’t for me. But were ok for those that love them. I’ll try certain foods once. Hands down the Salmon BLT with apples, avocado on sunflower seed bread hit the spot! This is definitely a treat.

I devoured the entire sandwich and felt disappointed when it was gone. The portion size left me very satisfied, the salmon had a nice smoked flavor, the bacon was crunchy, and the mixed greens and tomatoes were fresh. You definitely have to try this place.

This spot has been one of my favorites for a while. My normal go to is the the ginger lemonade and the salmon salad. I decided to order from there for Diner En Blanc this year and I'm so glad zi did. FOOD Neopol is a well-known staple in DC's sandwich scene. It's been on my list for a while and decided to try their classic salmon BLT. While the sandwich had some standout elements, it just wasn't for me. The salmon had a slightly metallic aftertaste that made it hard to enjoy after a few bites. However, the bread and bacon were fantastic. The bread was perfectly toasted, offering a satisfying crunch that contrasted nicely with the softer texture of the fish, and the bacon added just the right amount of salt to balance the meal. While the ingredients were clearly high-quality, the flavor of the salmon just didn't hit the mark for me. SERVICE The staff are kind and efficient. The line can get long but AMBIANCE Located within a bustling food hall, there's plenty of seating available throughout the venue. It can get quite lively during meal hours, and Union Market is a popular spot even on weekdays. PARKING Ample parking is available in the lot by Union Market. Be sure to store away valuables away from sight or simply leave them at home as burglary is not uncommon in the area.

This Gem is in Union Market Food Hall. The food is flavorful, fresh and just darn good. The service is a bit slow but that's because it's typically a line and it's that good. In my opinion best smoked salmon in the city. They also offer larger dishes for big groups. Ambiance ehh..can't judge because it's in union market but they do have a location in Baltimore.

So glad I decided to try this place out after seeing it on Yelp - I probably never would have known of it otherwise due to the countless other options in the Union Market area. The smoked salmon BLT is incredible - the smoked salmon is so moist and not fishy, and all the flavors and textures balance each other out so well. Service is relatively quick and there's lots of seating to choose from being in Union Market. Definitely will be coming back!

So good! So much salmon, they definitely do not skimp on the portions. The only thing I wish was different was that there was too much mayo for my liking, but each individual component in the sandwich was delectable. Somehow the bacon remains crispy the whole time you're eating the sandwich, and the salmon itself was perfectly smoked. Service was fast, they have a system down pat, and it's located in the cute union market so you can order other things too.

My favorite sandwich in the DMV is from here- the smoked salmon BLT and I add avocado. You can get it as a salad or on a variety of bread options but I prefer it on classic white bread. Service is fast and efficient- save your receipt for the ticket number to listen for. If you have pups with you they have salmon dog bones that my dog goes crazy for! It's always bustling but I've never waited more than 3 minutes for my order. A tip for anyone who wants to enjoy their meal onsite but avoid the rush for a table on the main floor of the market is to head through the stairwell directly next to where you pick your order up and go up to the rooftop for ample seating and great drink options/lawn games!

I'll always love this little gem. Been coming here for years. The smoked salmon BLT minus bacon add apples and avocados is my fav. I tried the egg salad today and they could've held the jalapeños lol. Sat down and at with my son.

This salmon BLT and ginger cardamom lemonade was tastyyyyy! I had seen pics and knew the BLT looked delicious so ordered it confidently. And after sampling the lemonade I ordered one for me and my sister! So so refreshing and really a perfect meal on a humid summer day. I'll be back real soon!

One of my favorites in Union Market. The smoked salmon BLT is my favorite, I wound up getting the sandwich on a wrap! The flavors blend together so well. Definitely a must when visiting here.

I always get their smoked salmon salad sandwich which never disappoints. It comes with mayo, the smoked salmon salad, lettuce, tomato, onion. The sandwich is always solid and consistent every time. It's not too heavy either. I know I'll be back.

A solid sandwich, definitely very tasty. I think I had set my expectations too high, as I found that the sandwich was a little under seasoned. May have been just that day, would definitely love to come back and explore the menu as well!

Food: Smoked Salmon BLT- Salmon was flaky and in abundance! The LTO was crisp and fresh! Made to perfection and all components go well together. This a must try, but you already heard this. I'm just confirming the goodness!! Smoked mussels (hot) - Absolutely DIVINE, The smoked taste take these bad boys to another level that I can't describe. I squeezed lemon on them and they were scrumptious! OMG, a party in my mouth!You have to try these! Even after I finished them the taste lingered on my palate! Thanks Neopol you exceeded my expectations ‼ Service: It's union market you know what to expect. It wasn't crowded so my order was produced promptly and accurately! It was seamless for such a high commodity!

Came for Sunday lunch with a friend. The market was very packed. The line moved quickly luckily. I got the smoked salmon blt on a bagel with a piece of smoked shrimp and their ginger lemonade. The sandwich was good, I felt like that bagel overpowered the salmon though. I'd try it on regular bread or wrap next time. The smoked shrimp was soo good!! Definitely will come back for more of those. The lemonade was very good too. My friend got the crepe which was super yummy! A guy in line recommended it for her because she was torn between the choices. Definitely a great spot for lunch!

There are so many options to choose from in Union Market, but the smoked salmon crepe here caught my eye. I haven't had anything like it before, but it was absolutely delicious and a unique twist on salmon. The crepes are pre-made, so they just take around 5 minutes to heat up and then you pick up your order. It is cut in half and large enough to share between 2 people. I'll be back to try other things on their menu!

This gem is all the way to the right in Union Market when you enter from the parking lot. Find them!!!! I had the Salmon BLT and it was delicious. The staff are always really great and everything is prepared fresh. Now do you like mussels? Yes...we're off to a good start.....but have you tried smoked mussels? They will change your life. They have the most delicious smoked mussels here...I even ate one cold because the oven was down and it was still good. I was so excited that I forgot to take a pic. Give them a try next time your there or honestly just go there, they are worth the trip.

The smoked mussels were a HUGE hit! You can get them warm or cold and they are filled with so much flavor. I brought a friend in to try them on a Sunday, and they went back for more by Wednesday!

Neopol Savory Smokery did not disappoint. If this review was for the food only, it would be 5 stars. The customer service was even 5 star worthy. My only complaint which dropped them down to 4 stars is the varying hours of operation listed in multiple places. Their own website says on Thursdays they are open until 9pm. Yelp says 8pm. Google says 7pm. I figured their own website had to be right. Drove there around 7:45 and they were closed. I ended up having to come back the next day. Glad I called because the hours for Friday are wrong as well. I brought this up to the staff. Off to the food. I ordered the Smoked Salmon BLT and the Classic Seafood Salad sandwich with bacon. The Smoked Salmon BLT is AMAZING!!! I was skeptical at first but MY MY MY!!! Well seasoned, soft bread, overall deliciousness. The classic seafood salad was good. I wish it didn't have as many onions but was good. I'll definitely be back for sure. MANAGEMENT- PLEASE ADDRESS THE HOURS ISSUE.

Their smoked whitefish salad is amazing!! I've yet to visit their store but every time I go to the Baltimore Farmers Market I always bring back some.

I've had this place on my list for a few months and I was finally in the area so I decided to pop in for a smoked salmon blt and some mussels. I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious the mussels were. I've never had them smoked and now I don't want to eat them any other way. They were absolutely delicious and next time I'm going to get a whole dozen. The smoked salmon blt was also very good and I wasn't really sure what to expect since I'd never had it before but I was definitely satisfied with the presentation and the flavor. The service was fast, efficient and friendly. The union market was quite busy and it was almost impossible it to bump in to other people. I think next time I come during the week and not on a busy Saturday.

How does a sandwich shop get 5 stars? This is how! Make the best da*n sandwich in the area.. Period! My good friend, Yelp extroidenaire TaNeisha J, somehow found this hidden sandwich shop inside the Union Market food court. When she posted pictures of her Salmon BLT, my mouth started to water and I KNEW I had to have one!! I made the journey down to Union Market and beelined to the food court. After trying to find Neopol Savory Smokery on my own, I had to ask an attendant of another food stand to direct me to it.. That was awkward.. Lol Once I arrived, I saw all the fresh ingredients for their awesome sandwiches on display but I was dead set on that delicious Salmon BLT that had me make the drive from Maryland. Once I got back to my office, I took the first bite and let out a huge gasp #foodorgasm lol!! I haven't tasted anything that good in quite a while. I literally tried to slow myself down so I could savor the moment for longer than a just a moment..lol If you love salmon and bacon.. and why would you not?!?..please make your way to Neopol Savory Smokery. It's kinda hard to find but trust me, it's worth the trouble!!!

Another great find in Union Market! You won't find a better smoked salmon BLT! These sandwiches are so good! Packed with salmon & flavor! The salmon has a Smokey & sweet flavor and the bacon is cooked to perfection! Not much else to say about this sandwich other than, Go Get One! You won't be disappointed! Thank me later! -:)

The reviews do not lie, I had an absolutely delicious salmon blt sandwich. The smoked salmon is shredded instead of sliced, the lettuce looks disproportionately stacked, but with the slightly sweet bacon and the sauce they put on the bread, it all works perfectly together. Get it on rye bread. This immediately became one of my go-to lunch spots.

Got the Smoked Salmon BLT with avocado on rye instead of the bacon for lunch... and it was very satisfying! I love the smoked flavor and the amount of veggies it came with. The rye bread was toasted with butter on top, making it crunchy on the corners and soft in the very middle. It was packed with salmon so I didn't feel jipped. Surprisingly, the sandwiches here are probably the least expensive items from the entire market. Everything else was at least $16-18 for a lunch/meal. My sandwich was only $11! And it was of high seafood quality, fresh, and healthy! Wish I can find smoked salmon as fresh as here back in Cali... highly recommend for anyone who loves smoked salmon and want to be on the healthier side.

Ordered 2 Mustard Salmon Salads and went outside to eat with my friend. We both opened our trays and tried the fish which was very mushy and slimey. We've had this version of their fish and others before and never had that problem. We immediately went in and talk to the nice guy at the counter who said we could get it remade and choose a different fish. After relaying what happened to I guess the manger on duty he came back and told us that she wouldn't remake it. Wow. Ok. It's not his fault so I asked for a refund. I also asked what would be the difference if I got my refund and ordered again , she would still have to remake my meal?! He apologized and said I know and offered me that option. I decided to not waste anymore time and go elsewhere to eat, I've been going to here for years to this location and in Baltimore when in town and never had a problem before. I also recommend this establishment to clients and my business partners but that will definitely end. Loosing out on thousands of dollars to because you don't want to remake a meal sounds pretty stupid to me. There's nothing they can do to fix this. It was great while it lasted.

Fresh, quality sandwiches at Union Market! I saw all the good reviews on Yelp and had to try it out, so worth it! I tried the Smoked Salmon BLT-- for ~$12, I got a ton of smoked salmon that had a slight smoked taste and paired well with the sweet onions and fresh vegetables. The freshness and great blend of flavors of the salmon, vegetables, and sauces made it an overall 5/5 sandwich. Something of this quality and quantity would cost so much more in California/NYC, making this a great deal. The service was also really fast, which added to the great experience I had. I'd definitely come back to try other items on the menu.

One of the best smelling food stalls/store fronts at Union Market :) All of their smoked items are delicious but my favorites have to be their Smoked Mussles! They a huge, plump and juicy and at a pretty good price for a dozen. We preordered 4 dozen for a holiday dinner and they were a huge hit!

Some of the best smoked salmon I've had... despite it being in a sandwich! I ordered both the smoked salmon BLT and the smoked salmon salad sandwich, those were the two most popular items. The sandwich itself looks decently sized, but it's very filling. Half way through the sandwich and I was already feeling a bit stuffed! The salmon tastes wonderful. And the combination with the salad, tasteful dressing, and onion really brighten the taste. I did prefer the salmon salad over the BLT, since the flavors weren't so masked by the bacon. Overall, would 100% recommend this place to anyone. I would be interested in trying the mussels next time!

FINALLY made it to Neopols for their salmon BLT. Y'all. I'm not a salmon fanatic like others. And yet, this was hands down one of the best sandwiches in the world BECAUSE of the smoked salmon. Get into it. Zoom in if needed. Between the sunflower flaxseed bread: freshly smoked salmon, free-range bacon, tomato, red onion, field greens, and honey dijon dressing. Dipped mine in a side of chipotle aioli for a kick. Ooh baby bay-beh!

The food from Neopol Savory Smokery is the best in the DMV area! Everything is insanely delicious and we have had no misses, but our favorites are the smoked salmon BLT, avocado BLT, smoked egg salad, and whitefish salad. The mussels are an absolute must as well. We've also had catering from their Baltimore location and Dorian was so easy to work with, even with us changing our minds and wanting delivery at the last minute. Their platters were a huge hit at our party and people were fighting over the leftovers. Food in this area has been pretty disappointing but Neopol Savory Smokery is a shining exception. In an age of major inflation, this family-owned business has kept their prices extremely reasonable so go and support them and amaze your taste buds in the process!

This was one of our favorite spots because it's so close to work. Unfortunately, the last couple of times it hasn't tasted very fresh. I got the shrimp salad sandwich today and the bread was so stale. They tried to toast it (didn't ask for that) to cover it up but it made it hard and unedible. The shrimp salad also had a very fishy taste like it was old. Maybe this location is under new management.

So confession time: I've been scary about trying smoked salmon lol. Don't laugh. However my fears have been conquered - thanks Neopol! The Salmon and Apple salad is a slice of heaven. I'm not a big fan of fruit on my salad either but my God this salad is amazingly delicious. Just look at how God had the sun shining down on it .

It's insane how much I come to Neopol. I am in love with this place! It's easily one of my fav places in Union Market. The staff is always pleasant and accommodating..because I come pretty frequently, I love how the young lady on the register during the week (I'll have to ask her name, during my next visit) always remembers me lol. It's like a sweet personable interaction that just adds to the overall experience. You honestly can't go wrong with whatever you order! My go to is always the smoked trout & Asian pair salad but the tossed salmon and apple salad is great too. The mussels!!! Sooo good. The smoked shrimp, warmed are always a game changer. The smoked salmon BLT is also really delicious. I actually want to suggest so much more lol but I think the point has been made, that you have to check Neopol out if you were on the fence.It's some of the best smoked fish I've ever eaten.

I'm surprised to be giving a 5-star review to a smokery! I was told the salmon BLT was amazing and decided to give it a try. I was still reluctant thatI would enjoy it seeing how I'm not hot on smoked salmon. Boy was I wrong! Unlike the wet, briney, and salty smoked salmon I'm used to, this was nicely cooked salmon that was smoky. Not super salty or cured, just smoked and delicious. With the tomatoes, onions, greens and everything, it made for a delicious combo that I would happily purchase again! I also grabbed a side of whitefish salad for kicks with the sesame crackers. ALSO very delicious!!! Not salty or briney like I'm used to it being. Also not heavy on the mayo taste either. I would eat this again immediately and will consider including it for apps when I have friends over. What a memorable tasty evening with Neopol

Instagram told me to come and try this sandwich so I did and it did not disappoint! Depending on your appetite, it is def a good and filling option for lunch, but I don't think it would be filling enough to be dinner. The sandwich is a nice portion with the option of wheat, white, rye, or a bagel. I went with the white option and no modifications. They did not skimp on the smoked salmon and bacon and the aioli is a great added touch. Service was fast and efficient and everyone I encountered was nice!

Awesome, Savory, Fresh! Best salad and sandwiches with various smoked seafood options. You've never had smoked seafood like this!!! Strolling through Union Market and looking for a pre-lunch snack, I found myself at the counter drooling over the smoked mussels and knew it was only right to see if they tasted as good as they looked. Listen, they did not disappoint. Initially the ask was for two but after reading the sign and talking with the young lady behind the counter 6 for $4.50 it was and after having them in my hands, this was a good price considering the size of them. The mussels were lovely!! Half shelled and smoked in the most palate pleasing seasoning. The smoked flavor was prevalent but not overpowering and the mussels were meaty in size. There was nothing small about these tasty treats!! Friends don't let friends seafood alone so it was only right to get a few smoked shrimp too!! The shrimp were large and in charge!!! The flavor is unreal!! Why have I never had these before? The flavor is one that you won't soon forget but consistently crave!! I opted for them still on chill but you can get them warmed as well I do believe. While these are the two items I tried on this visit, they do have other smoked meats like salmon and trout. They also had some dips and spreads as well. Quite the variety as you can get sammies, a pie, a crepe or a salad as well. There was a lie but it moved really well and the staff was friendly and helpful from start to finish. No one smokes seafood like Neopol :)

Read good reviews about this place and tried it during my recent business trip to DC. I went for the Smoked Salmon Salad BLT on rye. I swapped the bacon for avocado which came out to be a good choice offsetting the sweetness in the smoked salmon. If only the smoked salmon was not as sweet as I hoped it to be, it would have been perfect with the veggies that came with it. I'm still glad I gave it a try nonetheless.

Visited on 12/3/22 - This is actually my second time visiting Neopol in union market and I'm happy to say it was better than the first time. Service was fast and the servers are always pleasant. I got the salmon BLT wrap and when they went to wrap it I told them to do it in halves because id planned on eating one as I walked around haha. I'm not ashamed to say the second half didn't make it to my car because I ate that as I waited for my friend to get their food. The salmon is moist and I believe there may be a sauce they line the wrap with but I can't make it out. Maybe mayo based but it has a bit of sweetness to it that pairs really well with the smokiness of the bacon and the sweetness of the salmon. The first time I had it on white bread and the wrap was leaps and bounds better. If I didn't live so far away I would've gotten some of the salmon salad to take home, next time I'll bring my mini cooler for this and this alone haha.

Located inside Union Market, this place is a gem for all seafood/fish lovers. I tried the smoked salmon salad sandwich on rye bread yesterday and I've been thinking about this sandwich ever since. I also tried the rainbow trout salad and that was really good too! The portion sizes here are good and for the amount of food and seafood you are getting, I think the pricing is fair. I'd definitely come back to try more of their menu items!! 100% recommend the smoked salmon salad sandwich for first timers :)
