"Ensconced on the second floor of the Marine Gate shopping mall, this expansive banquet hall-cum-restaurant is no secret to locals in search of excellent dim sum and Cantonese specialties. The spacious room readily accommodates large groups, the better to sample a wide range of mouthwatering options—though at peak hours, you may face wait times. During the day, the menu offers the traditional array of carefully prepared dumplings, many featuring exceptionally plump, juicy shrimp, as well as warming bowls of congee. At dinner, expect a broader variety of seafood, including pricier delicacies like lobster, abalone and sea cucumber, as well as a wide selection of meaty options, from crisp-skinned roasted duck to sweet and sour pork with pineapple." - Michelin Inspector

Love the formal banquet setting, which elevates the food. That said, food was just okay. Rice roll with fish paste was good. Love the crispy skin on the fish paste but I like my rice roll more silken and less fish paste. The chicken feet in special sauce was tasty. Service okay. Had to 👋👋👋 to get attention.

We were visiting from Toronto and wanted to try fresh seafood cooked in a Chinese way. We ordered the king crab menu. The steamed crab was amazing. We also loved the steamed egg with crab roe and the sweet and sour pork chop. The servers were friendly and helpful. Had a wonderful time at this restaurant with my family. Will definitely come again next time!

Service was great, everyone was attentive. Food was solid and came fast - we got the king crab and Peking duck set. Hit the craving spot. Overall a great experience! Would recommend!

Part of the Neptune Restaurant Group. Consistent quality of food as compared to the one in Richmond. The wok fried veggies delights are quite oily. The mango dessert is very cute however too much gelatin to hold the shape. The juicy bubbles are delightful and is the best part of the entire meal. I agree with other reviewers that the price of this restaurant is higher than the one in Richmond. Comparing the crab I bought from supermarket last week, this 3-lb crab as indicated on the bill seemed small. Slow service - we ordered crab with noodles and our plates are full of crab shells. It took them forever to replace with clean plates, despite my friend works in the neighborhood and he’s a regular customer. Waited for over 20 minutes for the bill and I ended up pay in person at the cashier. Credit card payment requires 2% surcharge.

This place is worth a try and adventure for those unfamiliar! The service was extra kind and courteous, giving us a break for not knowing the process or being able to read everything. I only speak a tiny bit of Mandarin Chinese and my dinner partner didn't know any. I spent four months in Taipei before so I was a little less intimated but it was still a little intimidating. The digital iPad menu had some English We had the tofu with mushrooms and greens and it was delicious. The teas in hot tea pots with warming candles underneath were really nice. After we had eaten and paid, a server offered us red bean soup for dessert to try with no additional cost and it was super nice. I really liked the taste and had never tried it before. I am looking forward to coming back for dim sum hours and for BBQ duck another time.

I will list all the pros and cons so it’s easier for you to decide if it’s the place for you! Pros: Seafood vermicelli bowl and beef with rice noodle are delicious; they have a cool robot that brings napkins around; it’s a traditional Chinese seafood restaurant setting if that’s on your bucket list (but there are lots in Richmond); the owner posted his email for customers to contact (you rarely see that in Chinese restaurants); there’s also a reminder that credit purchase cost extra now; convenient location. Cons: The service is horrible (I’m usually lenient because the food is most important, but you can’t ignore me the whole time and make me wait 15+ minutes for my bill - you’re egging me on to leave without paying at that point); prices are expensive compared to competitors; the dim sum is NOT good (I thought I was just picky, but I brought many family and friends to try it with me and all were disappointed). We only visited recently because we wanted the Tuesday $50 Peking duck deal - we were told that’s been scrapped which is too bad. We ordered the reliable and delicious seafood vermicelli bowl instead plus a beef rice noodle, both were good and we left with leftovers (we expected to, for those prices!). We were neglected through the entire dinner and waited 20 minutes for a takeout box. The lady who forgot was actually really nice and overworked, none of her coworkers assisted her and they all ignored us (FYI, I am Chinese and speak Cantonese, so it’s not because I’m foreign!). She felt so bad and gifted us green bean dessert, which we thanked her for. We waited an extra 15 minutes for the bill (I wonder, why?). Will we revisit? Yes, but for take out for these specific dishes only, because they are good! Will we recommend to others? Absolutely not, there are too many better options in Richmond and Vancouver. Note: if you park in the marked stalls for Neptune in the Orange section, you can fill out a parking slip upon arriving to avoid a ticket.

Wow, wow, wow! We came here for a special occasion, reserving a private dining room. We ordered a set meal for a party of six, and all the dishes were wonderful. The highlight, of course, was the king crab cooked three ways. The classics ginger and scallion for legs, stir fried with soy sauce for body, and fried rice with the carapace. Easily the best crab I’ve had in my entire life. The Peking duck was also superb and easily could have been the star of the show if not for the crab. We had our own private waiter, who was polite, attentive, and overall pleasant. The room offered the privacy we wanted for the special occasion, including it’s own washroom. The private dining experience at Neptune is truly unforgettable, and I highly recommend the restaurant. You won’t be disappointed.

Absolutely delighted with my experience at Neptune Palace Seafood Restaurant! The shrimp dumplings, shrimp & pork Shao mai, steamed BBQ pork bun, and more were all exquisite. The incredible taste left a lasting impression.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Yelp
met up with friends for a saturday dim sum feast at 12:30 pm, and the place was buzzing. reservations were made and we still had to wait a few minutes before we were seated. the service was exceptional, attentive, and caring. they made sure to check on our tea and hot water multiple times, promptly brought glasses of ice cold water, hot mustard, and chili sauce upon request, and even thoughtfully offered to cut the spring rolls. a nice touch that enhanced the overall dining experience. complimentary 90 minute parking is available on p2; just provide your license plate. this michelin guide, recommended restaurant is located on the third floor. it's easy to get carried away when ordering until you see the prices. dim sum ranges from $11.38 to $18.98, with lunch specials, chef recommendations, and more. here's what we ordered: shrimp and pork shao mai dumplings (pleasantly surprised with five pieces, as we were a party of five) lean pork and century egg congee neptune shrimp dumplings (har kau) rice rolls with jumbo prawns and yellow chives rice rolls with beef and pea tips deep fried shrimp garlic spring rolls (standout) bean curd wraps with pork and mushroom in abalone sauce sticky rice with minced pork wrapped in lotus leaf black sesame seed paste rice flour balls pear shaped matcha black sesame rice balls (my favourite, though there were only four pears) note, eco-friendly takeout containers are $0.50 each, and paper bags are $0.75 each. we had the pleasure of savouring this delightful dim sum experience, generously treated by a dear and very generous friend.

Yelp
Never thought I would leave a 1 star review for any restaurant establishment in BC. Drove all the way from WA state to have some food. Did not have a reservation but walked in to see if there was any availability for early dinner. Receptionist looked at me in a very unwelcoming and b*tchy face I have ever seen and talked down to me as if I disrespected her. Heard Neptune had Michelin star, but I would recommend service score to be docked. If reception is not welcoming, would leave a bad taste to anyone's mouth even if the food tastes good. That being said, I will be giving advice to appropriate parties. Not be recommending this particular location to any of my friends, family, or relatives. If it were a business dinner, I would not be making any future reservations or recommendations for fear of losing business relationships. Sorry, bad service from the get go.

Yelp
We made reservations for Saturday morning and it was pretty busy but we were seated right away. Service was really great and the food came out at nice intervals. Everything was really good and did not disappoint! Inside was nice and well decorated.

Yelp
Nice and convenient place for late night food. They have Da Lang here too (no free congee though) Food's pretty good and service is pretty good too. Not a huge fan of their fried squid though. Everything else is pretty good. And lots of free parking in the mall complex.

Yelp
You don't find many restaurants like this in the US. Check out Tai Wu in Millbrae, CA, US. Check out Tai Wu Restaurant (https://yelp.to/R7eFWNZOG5) You will find these large restaurant with private rooms in China. This seating was a birthday celebration and so the menu was special. Steak cubes, fish collar, succulent roasted pig, king crab legs, crab fried in salted egg batter and more. Many Seafood Chinese restaurants serve dishes that are similar to others. There are a few specialties and presentations that sets them apart to others. Neptune Seafood Restaurant certainly set themselves apart. This is southern China style. The food quality was special in that the taste was subtle, full of flavor, and fresh. The service is attentive and friendly. The facilities are top notch with a Chinese French motif. Karaoke and large TV in the larger rooms. I would definitely bring family here. Yelp Grading This is my rating system to help you gauge my ratings Anything under three stars is not worth mentioning. Meh. *** stars - Good overall. Some aspects are above the notch: food, service, and or ambiance. Worthy of a visit. **** Stars - Exceptional, short of perfect. ***** Stars - Perfect in all aspects. Food quality, Service, Ambiance

Yelp
Another year end shoutout to Neptune for dim sum and dinner. Neptune is one of my default dim sum restaurant because they have various locations and I find they have consistent food quality and good service. Their locations across town all offer decent parking options and flexible hours of operation. Parking at this location was free for 90 min. Look for their designated spots in the lot. Then when you arrive upstairs at restaurant, just write down your license plate on the little slip of parking paper the server will give you when you place your food order. Ambiance here is quite modern with fancy lighting and decor fit for a traditional Chinese wedding banquet. Service here is usually prompt and I tend to visit Neptune for late brunch instead of lunch. Overall, I find their service level quite consistent even during busier times. Dim sum at Neptune = yummy comfort foods for me because it reminds me of my dim sum days with Grandma

Yelp
=== 1. VERDICT/VALUE 3.5 stars - the food is good, the environment nice, but it's like the Ritz when it comes to pricing and service is hit or miss because it's so busy. You're also likely waiting a lot if you didn't make a reservation :) === 2. FOOD - Lobster with Fried Crystal Noodles ($39.80) - I wish there was a lot more noodle at this price... - Shrimp Dumplings ($10.68) - Nothing special about these four other than they were good! - Sui Mai ($10.68) - Five truffle-covered ones -yum! - Shanghai Dumplings ($10.98) - Four juicy ones - nice! - Deep-Fried Shrimp Spring Rolls ($9.68) - Four, and they're good. - Rice Roll with Chinese Donut ($10.98) - The seaweed on top is a nice touch - tasty! - Half Chicken Tossed in Truffle ($28.98) - Good but maple it's sloppily applied with too much onion... - Bunny-Shaped Coconut Milk ($9.68) - Hard to eat these innocent-looking things lol - Pear-Shaped Matcha Custard Rice ($9.98) - Kind of neat and cool! - Steamed Chinese Sausage Rolls ($9.98) - Decorated to be like piggies...I think! === 3. SERVICE Up and down: for starters, be sure to speak Cantonese or Mandarin as that seems to work well; English is a little more challenging for a number of the staff. Dining in works well where they will try and service is reasonable even when it's busy (which is always is). Takeout may be challenging depending on what staff member is near the front with the hordes of people waiting for tables or takeout. Simply stay quiet and look for your takeout on one of the mysteriously-placed tables in the front :) === 4. ENVIRONMENT It's relatively modern without being overly-Asian in decor and accommodates groups large and small. Wheelchairs and baby strollers will fit easily. Parking is available in the underground structure, with 90 minutes being complimentary.

Yelp
Nice ambiance in big spacious dining hall. Parking is also complimentary. However, dinner is disappointing with nothing really stands out. Fresh cod fish (2.5 lbs) is meaty but tough. The BBQ duck (half) is also tough. The pea leaves is overcooked and mushy. The daily soup tastes homemade (and bland). Attentive service and change plates multiple times for us. The hot water candle was not lit from the beginning and no one bother to check.

Yelp
Had Dimsum here a few times before and was quite impressed. Decided to try it on a Monday night and was greatly disappointed! The guy who attended us recommended their set menu for $399 for 6pax. Since there's was Peking Duck and Alaskan King Crab, we gladly took his recommendation. The first course was Bird's Nest Soup. It was thick with lots of fish maw. However, it tasted bland. I had to ask for salt to perk it up. His excuse was that some customers prefer it bland. Duh !!! Second course was duck skin and some slices of meat arranged so nicely on a platter. Upon having it, I complained. It tasted old like it was cooked overnight or might be leftover from the day before. Besides, dish was cold. I complained but he didn't budge. What do you expect from a Chinese restaurant who don't care about customer satisfaction? The succeeding dishes were just ok but not great. The highlight of the night was steamed Alaskan King Crab leg and fried Alaskan King Crab leg joints. Lawrence, I would assume the manager, approached us later to ask how the dishes were. I informed him of our sentiment and he said to raise it up right away next time. Told him we did to no avail. He then asked us to wait and gave us a complimentary dessert. Oh well, very nice gesture from him. However, a dessert can no way make up for this night. Especially when we were here treating a very very special and generous friend. To claim they are a Michelin Guided restaurant surprises me. They are absolutely not close.

Yelp
Never having tried this branch which directly Above marine drive station - canada Line. With the name Neptune, once can only expect great things. From the outside, looks unassuming but once you step in, place is huge and very modern. Very bright and glitzy with chandeliers and all. And to my surprise, they had a Michellin guide Recommended list. Lots of special on the menu...we decided on the peking duck ( 2 courses) plus 5 main entrees $249. Sorry not much for photos as we were so hungry we forgot to take good pics. Anyhow, the duck was presented whole before carved. Served table side so you can see the entire duck being carved, and every skin piece and meat sliver laid on the table. No cheating. Both skin and slices were sliced and served separately so you can enjoy best of both worlds. Crepes came in 2 steamers. Other dishes were xo abd dried scallop fried rice. So good and flakes of scallop everywhere. Satay vermecelli and seafood. Again, another winner. Salt and pepper squid. Huge servings of pipping hot squid with tons of fried chilies and garlic. So so good! Then we had the 2 kinds of bbq. roasted pork and bbq pork. The roasted pork was awesome. Tender and succulent and skin very crispy the bbq pork was a bit fatty and tasted day old. Not fresh. The meat has already absorbed most of the sauces, which tells me they have been swimming in the sauce the whole day. So just ok. What i didnt like about the place was the constant upsell. They were pushing us to get the lingcod combo which came with 2 courses fish, then 5 other dishes but selections were not that great. Lots of veggies. We had to insist on we wanted the peking duck, so they brought us the menu. Even then they wanted to push us to order more veggie and noodle dishes. But hey, we are smarter than that. As soon as they found out we could speak chinese, they let us be lol. Another issue we had was we ordered the 2 kinds bbq. Roast pork and roast duck, as this was what the server told us. Lo abd behold, without warning, they gave us roast pork and bbq pork. When told it was wrong...they said they will check, and as it turns out, they were out of roasted duck. So we said, the server said it was available....you cant just change it without consulting with us first and asking if it was okZ what if we wanted another dish instead? So they apologized and said they will give us more bbq pork. Service was quick and food came hot and fresh. Everyone was so full. The course was good for 6, we were 6 adults and 3 kids. Still had a little leftovers. All things considered...i had a nice experience, overall food quality was superb. The duck was very good. Cant praise it enough. No after taste. Crispy skin. Juicy meat. Expertly carved by hand. I would repeat for sure and try the Dimsum next. They are having 15% disc if all Orders are in by 1130am. Tip: they have free parking un the parkade as well. Just look for their designated spots and list your plate no once you are seated. Cheers! Happy eating!

Yelp
Another dinner before flying back to Asia. From Monday to Friday, they have specials for cheap. Thursday is roasted beef ribs with broccoli and baby potatoes over black pepper sauce. Super yummy!! The dish is $60 which is normally $90. Friday special is roasted suckling pig. 1 plate (about 1/3) for $60 or $188 for half a pig. Regular price is $128 per plate or $300 for half a pig. We ordered 3 dishes total. Beef, s&s pork and deep fried golden tofu. Best 3 dishes by far.

Elsie L.

Yelp
Food tasty. Service not bad. We had King crab dinner. Price was reasonable. Will try their dim sum next time.

Yelp
Dinner for 8. Service -wow! Food -wow!! Overall - absolutely wowsome! Weza coming back 4sure. And another point- you can actually have a decent low key conversation here, without all the f'n people noise - neat concept, eh!

Yelp
IMPORTANT: If you are parking in the complex, please go to P2 in the orange marked areas and park anywhere you want. Do NOT pay for parking. You come upstairs and when you eat, you fill out your car's information and the parking is comped. IF you pay and want reimbursement, they do NOT reimburse you. If your parking ticket is red, T&T will not reimburse you either (Neptune Palace recommended I get reimbursement by buying stuff at T&T and so I did and T&T informed me they don't take red parking tickets). The food and items are on par with Regal Mansion on 12th and Cambie. A lot of the same dishes that you don't see at more traditional dim sum places. The shrimp dumpling was pretty good compared to other places. The batter on the deep fried eggplant was too thick and greasy but the dish overall was good. The xlb was decent but nothing compared to authentic Shanghainese restaurants. Price is on par with Regal Mansion. If comparing with Regal Mansion, I give them credit here for better service and I like the actual restaurant vibe better. I find Regal is like an echo chamber but it's much more tolerable here. Prices seem very similar.

Yelp
Food and atmosphere are fine, but horrible service. They charged us an extra 2 people for tea (note they even charged my 1 year old tea in additional to the 2 extra). Went to correct them on their receipt (nicely) but they gave us the worst attitude and threw the coins back at us. I understand it's busy at lunch hour and we shouldn't expect much from a Chinese restaurant but this by far the worst service I've seen.

Rebecca S.

Yelp
We had seen this restaurant many times while at Marine Gateway, but we're turned off by the many bad reviews. But our friends who were out of town suggested we meet for a set dinner there and so we looked forward to finally trying it out! Sadly, that's where the excitement ends. I could not believe the service here. From the moment we sat down, it was aggressive, abrupt and prejudiced. They were pushing an Alaskan crab dinner menu, but we said we wanted the lobster set menu. We had 3 different people basically tell us, that the only dinner available was this crab special, starting at $499. I finally had to explain, we needed to know if we could have the other menu plan or not? Once they knew we weren't ordering the big menu, the service went down. We asked Mark, our main server a question about the house vermicelli noodles on the menu. He had no idea what we were talking about. He had to go and get another menu in Chinese and still didn't explain what it was. When my friend reached out to move a fork while a server put the food down, he put his hand in her face and said 'wait'. Jaw dropping moment! Now about the food....I will say the portions were much larger than we thought, that was a plus. We ordered the set lobster menu with 5 added items for $238. It comes with a basic veggie soup. Lobster on rice with corn, it was tasty. We got the pork jowl with pineapple and we were disappointed, it was a very western sweet and sour pork dish. The fried squid with jalapeños was yummy and had extra crispy garlic with it. And the fried beans with garlic was good, but nothing special. All in all, had the service been good, we would've considered coming back to try the dim sum, but we will never be back here and will make sure we tell our friends and business contact to not bother.

Yelp
OpenRoad Auto Group hosted Lunar New Year Dinner 年初六 in Neptune Palace Seafood Restaurant (Vancouver) @ 470 SW Marine Drive. We invited corporate partners to the dinner which a lot of them are western non-Asian people. The food overall was average or slightly above average (from Chinese perspective). Service I believe it's not enough, could be better. Environment was okay, very Lunar New Year feel as we're able to have Lion Dance and a stage for performer to present 古箏 Chinese zither. Regarding foods, since we're afraid of non-Asian people scare of the appearance of whole pig, bird nest, and sea cucumber, we changed to some dishes which was more friendly - sweet & sour pork. Honestly the non-Chinese were happy to try pork tongue.

Tammy W.

Yelp
They have very cute dim sum and most of it tastes good. I wouldn't order the mango duck pudding again it was flavorless but their other regular dim sums tastes good. Ambiance is nice, decor is nice. They have a lot of staff walking around but some were more eager to help than others. I had to ask 3 different servers to get extra napkins. They forgot one place setting and after asking multiple times I got fed up and got up to get the bowl and chopsticks myself cuz my food came and I didn't even have chopsticks! Haven't tried dinner yet, will give this place a try next time. If you park accordingly in their parking lot in the orange section, don't forget to write down the stall number they will ask for both the license plate and stall number.

Yelp
We came for a celebration dinner, for their weekly set discounts for lingcod two ways. We also ordered Peking duck and they served it up fancy! Everything was surprisingly good and we were extremely satisfied. The service was great

Yelp
Came here for my birthday dinner and I'm so glad I did. I made a reservation a couple days in advance for Sunday dinner at 6 pm. Came with group of 8 and we were seated promptly. It was my first time here, but I was pleasantly surprised by the nice decorations inside. It definitely was a more upscale spot for Cantonese dining. To make ordering easier, we ordered the king crab set menu for 6 people ($499) and added an additional veggie chow mein dish ($26.80). Thought it was pretty affordable for the giant king crab that we got. Our server brought the crab to our table and let us take pics and videos of it before they cooked it, which was nice. All of the food from the set menu was good, but my favorites were the king crab (cooked two ways: steamed with ginger and garlic and fried) and the wagyu stiry fry. I was a bit busy chatting to pay attention to most of the food, but these were the two that made me stop and take notice. The squab had really crispy skin but some of the meat, especially the bigger pieces, was a bit dry. The fried rice tasted a bit bland to me, but that could be because I ate it at the end so the flavors from all the other dishes were already in my mouth. We brought our own cake, and surprisingly they didn't charge us any additional cake fees. They grabbed the cake from us in the box and did everything (unboxed and added a candle) in the background, and brought out the cake to the table when we were done with the red bean soup. They probably do this a dozen times a day and have it down to a routine. The servers at Neptune made everything from ordering to serving the cake super easy. Very glad I decided to come here for my birthday dinner! They also have some private rooms you can book, some with karaoke, for different group sizes. There are some minimum spends you have to hit for each room, but they seemed like a good way to celebrate a special occasion!

Yelp
First time trying Dim Sum at this Cantonese Style Seafood Restaurant and I was impressed! Food quality & service was above average, spacious dining area and Covid check-in protocol followed. Food highlight .. Truffle Siu Mai ( Pork & Shrimp Dumplings ) .. very juicy and plump, pork & shrimp fillings were hand cut to small pieces and not machine chopped which gives the dumplings a unique texture and juiciness! Will for sure order again! Bean Curd Wraps with Enoki Mushrooms .. the warps were immersed in a very delicate flavoured stock with keeps the whole dish extra warm when arriving at the table, it also gives a different texture when eaten with the soup! Well executed kudos to the dim sum Chef! Whole Crispy Skin Chicken .. this is a promotional item when your order reaches $60 or over you have the option of ordering this item for $12.00 ea. Arrived pipping hot and they provide gloves & scissors for you to cut up the chicken, meat was extremely juicy and flavourful and the skin is super crispy! You can call it a gimmick but for chicken lover like myself, I for sure will order it!! Parking is free for the first 90 mins at designated area, so be mindful when you are entering this shopping complex parking, make sure you follow the signs!!

Yelp
When I drove to the parking lot at Marine Gateway. I was very lost trying to find parking near this Chinese restaurant. Luckily I found the parking area with the restaurant's signs. There was 90 min free parking when we dived at the restaurant. It was great! We ordered 7 dishes. I forgot to take pictures of the dishes. Overall the food was good especially their pumpkin congee and desserts. The tea was good as well. The restaurant would give each table a container with a small candle, so we could heat up the water and add to the tea. The interior was spacious with lots of tables and chairs. There was also enough distance between tables and chairs. Overall the eating experience was great here especially my friends and I could eat and chat at the same time. The restaurant would not rush us to leave.

Yelp
Neptune Palace has a nice open venue, which is really spacious. We arrived near the end of brunch session, so it was emptying out and made for a lovely peaceful dim sum for the three of us. We ordered our food in english, and the waiter helped us pick the best options as well ensure we didn't over-order since we're not dim sum experts. The food came out pretty quickly, and we enjoyed everything. The bao quality was good, and the duck was good. Nothing really wow'ed me. So this is a good place for a reliable, staple dim sum experience.

Brenda K.

Yelp
I went here with my family in the morning earlier today. It was my first visit today and the decor was clean and luxurious. We ordered following items : Lean Pork Century Egg Congee ($12.95), Truffle Shao Mai ($9.38), Crispy Wild Rice Wrap ($9.68), Spicy Rice Rolls with Chinese Donut ($8.98) and Beef Tripe in Satay Sauce ($8.68). Food presentation was wonderful it was nicely decorated. Congee came in a stone bowl with a Chinese donut on top. It was yummy. I could feel the tenderness of the meat while chewing pork inside the congee. Spicy Rice Rolls were yummy. Pork floss had a slight spicy flavour and the donut inside was soft. Everything else were also tasty. Truffle Shao Mai looked cute with truffle on top. The fillings were tender and meaty. Beef tripe and Wild Rice Wrap were pretty good. Rice wrap was really yummy and crispy. They were all made with quality and the price was expensive. Washroom was beautiful. All the toilets had an automatic seat cover using censor or the touch button. They had Jo Malone diffusers in the washroom instead of using air fresheners. You're looking to spend $8-9 per dish and $12-16 on special dishes. Noodles would be around $20 and up. It's quite expensive, but great place to spoil yourself, friends or family once in awhile. Service was average. Food quality was pretty good. **Complimentary parking is available for 90 minutes at P2. No password needed for wifi**

John C.

Yelp
The food quality is good! Service is alright. Ambience is just a bit noisy, hard to listen to the people sitting at the opposite from me.

Janson L.

Yelp
the food was delicious it was not overcooked and not undercooked. all items were in huge portions and I want to thank the server James for his kindness and helpfulness. I would definitely go again and I really recommend you go as well!

Yelp
Since the original Flamingo location closed, this has become my family's go-to dim sum spot! Their dining room is large and grand (equipped with massive TV screens), they have an extensive menu, and food is delicious. Like you'll find at many large dim sum/seafood establishments in Vancouver, customer service is an efficient and no frills well oiled machine. I love that they do temperature checks as well. They don't do carts or anything like that here. You simply check off menu items on a sheet of paper and hand it to your server. Food comes out really quick and hot. I honestly can't think of one dish I didn't like here. We always make a reservation ahead of time.

Yelp
Horrible service every time. My family has been gone to the restaurant for several times in July and August but had never been asked to measure our temperature till August 13th. Out of curiosity, we asked why all the sudden starting this policy and if there's any new development on the news that we were not aware of. Right a way, the female manager yelling at us and said, "it's Covid-19! Don't you know?!" Then she left with anger. People who work there don't smile especially the manager. Always takes long time to get service. Serious attitude problem. This place is pricy with ordinary quality of food and thumbs down service. We go just because it's the only Chinese restaurant in the neighborhood.

Yelp
This place has slow wifi. Super sad. Had to get that out before I forget to mention about it. I had this place bookmarked for a long time. I suggested to my parents to come here for dim sum. Neptune replaced Bandao which was also a Chinese restaurant that serves the same things. The inside of Neptune looks pretty much the same as Bandao. I came here with my parents and had a late lunch. We arrived at 2 pm. We ordered 5 dim sums. Each dish came very quickly. We got the truffle mushrooms, the beef tripe with tendon, fried taro, shrimp rice roll and eggplant with shrimp. Their dim sum is so mediocre. They also charge a tea sitting fee per person. I would prefer Kirin over Neptune or the Neptune in Richmond. Their dum sum are cute but definitely not worth the price. For example the fried taros looked like swans. However, the neck and head piece was not edible. Also service was meh. We arrived at 2 pm. We were rushed to pay for our bill at 2:15 pm. We just sat down and ordered. We ate quite fast and left at around 2:40pm. We do understand they close at 3 pm but I believe they can wait till later. Service is really lacking here along with their mediocre dim sum. We do like their decor here. It does look clean and nice. Every thing looks clean. I don't think we will be back.

Yelp
Was craving for dim sum this weekend and thought of Neptune. They are opened during this time with a special menu for take out orders. They are also offering a 10% discount on orders right now as well. Didn't get a chance to take pictures of our food because quarantine has made me miss dim sum too much.

Yelp
We were here Saturday before a movie and never again!! It was sooooo expensive. We were charged 32 dollars for a plate of plain soy sauce noodles and $13 for a very small bowl of hot and sour soup. Rip off of the highest order. Wasn't even nice!! After looking at the bill after we discovered that the noodle dish should have had beef in them to warrant that price but we asked for plain noodles to with a spicy chicken dish which had no spice at all. Never again will we go there.

Yelp
Excellent service. Attentive waiter. Dim sum was excellent unlike some of those high end dim sum restaurants in Richmond that are so gimmicky. Price is at the high side, $$$ but not outrageous. The main dinning area is a bit overcrowded.

Yelp
This morning was my 5th visit to Neptune for family dim sum. Family size range from 4 today up to 10. We like this place because it has a nice interior, clean washrooms (very important!), and spaciousness (compared to others that squish as many tables as possible and you have to suck in your stomach to get out of your chair). We are willing to put out an extra $ for the atmosphere and other conveniences. Offering classic Cantonese dim sum which means "lightly touching your heart" and served in small bite sizes pieces on small plates or steamer bamboo baskets. With 4 adults and 8 dishes our bill was $75 not including tip. Food is placed through a menu ordering sheet of paper and not by the push cart. We had (numbers as indicated on the menu ordering sheet): #618, Fried crystal noodles with spicy XO sauce. #122, fried scallops with duck meat and mashed taro. #303, rice rolls with jumbo and yellow chives. #306, rice rolls with minced beef. #103, Neptune shrimp dumplings (har kau). #113, Chiu chow dumplings with peanuts. #111, Chicken feet special sauce. #109, Beef meatballs with tangerine peels. Food has been consistently good and arrives to the table hot. Off course, a few times there has been hiccups with a dish but the next time we ordered, it was back up to par. Today, the chicken feet was not as spicy and too watery and the crystal noodle dish was half the portion size compared to previous orders. Believing the chef will fix the famous chicken feet dish as it has been amazing many times in the past and the manager have a re-look at my favourite crystal noodle dish portion or we shall not be ordering this dish again which will make me very sad. Service has always been friendly and attentive. Some tips: 1. Go to dim sum early as the place gets full by 11:30am. The wait is not too long as the restaurant is big. Make reservations for larger group sizes. 2. 90 minutes free parking for Neptune customers on level P2, stalls #440-449 & 455-464 and no need to register your car plate with the restaurant. If all these stalls are filled, you can park in other non-reserved stalls in P2 or P3 but make sure to register your car plate and stall number upon arrive to the restaurant. 3. No car? No problem as the Canada Line sky train station "Marine Drive" is located around the corner so a quick 13 minutes train ride from downtown or central Richmond. 4. After lunch, there's opportunities in the plaza for shopping at Winners, catching a movie at Cineplex (which are directly across from the restaurant) or get your groceries at T&T (which is right below).

Yelp
Terrible service. Manager and waitresses were very rude. We spent $400 for a family brunch. But we felt like we were begging for service. Our families have decided not to eat there anymore.

Yelp
The service was excellent and food was well done. $260. King crab(5 lbs) dish was delicious and price was reasonable. Dim sum items were mediocre and a bit overpriced---Gan Cao Niu Ho was $36.?! Seafood pot was great as well. But the way, how come there was a surcharge for credit card payment? Weird.

Yelp
A huge dim sum place located in south west marine drive. Sparkling chandeliers adorn the ceiling. The tables are huge and great for groups. The staff is friendly and courteous. They serve your traditional dim sum, but they are presented beautifully. This place is a bit on the pricier side and parking isn't that easy. However, the food is delicious.

Yelp
A good place for a good sit down Chinese style dinner with decent prices and amazing food quality! This place not only has phenomenal dim sum, but also a great dinner menu! Best part: it's pretty cheap! * We got 1 course Pecking duck ($39.99-one course only, 2 course $59.80), which came with super soft pancake wrap, the hoisin sauce, cucumbers, chives and the delicious crispy pecking duck skin/meat itself! We only got one course since it was just the 4 of us dining, but the skin was super crispy, the presentation was so nice, and the pancake wrap was super soft, chewy, and delicious with everything combined! * We also got a lobster sticky rice dish (1 course) the rice was very flavourful. It was a bit oily but overall added great flavour to the dish. The lobster was super yummy and their sauce was astronomical! This dish is something I recommend if you live lobster and sticky rice!! The rice itself was good it had the lobster juice and tastes in the dish. * Spicy braised string beans, this dish is a classic. The beans were perfectly cooked and the dish itself was super flavoursome. It was perfect to eat with the lobster rice and pecking duck! * Spicy salt and pepper pork chop, this dish is a must have! It was super crispy, hot and juicy! The peppers in it added a nice kick and the garlic they used nicely combined all the flavours. * 8.5/10 - I really like coming here for their dinner, next time I come in definitely getting their 2 course pecking duck, and the Neptune palace duck with 8 kinds of stuffing!! * 9/10 - sadly I don't recall all the menu prices and the website doesn't have the prices on the menu, but it wasn't expensive! Pecking duck is such a steal here! And the entire dinner for 4 big dishes for 4 people costed around $175. Which is super cheap for 4 people when eating pecking duck and lobster!

Yelp
We got the 10 person king crab meal and were only 9 adults. The king crab was extremely small. Portions of the rest of the dishes also small, food cold, and poor service. We were still hungry at the end. Would not recommend coming here.

Yelp
Came here for a meal in one of the private rooms (Ruby) that came with a TV playing a Chinese historical drama about polo (no joke, they just rode around on horses smacking a ball around the whole time) and a private bathroom. But onto the food....the king crab oh my god. The legs were steamed with garlic and butter, the knuckles stirfried with scallion and soysauce, and the shell used as a bowl for fried rice. Every dish delish. The fish slices dish (no idea what it was called) was also cooked in a gorgeous savory sauce that everyone spooned onto their rice. The meat dishes were more meh--just go for the seafood! I was treated by others to the meal so I don't know how much it cost but damn if I won't remember that crab forever.

Yelp
This place is 100% underrated. At this point, I am just trying to fill the character limit.

Yelp
July, 13, 2019 I went there for baby shower dinner party. We reserved a room with 8 tables. We had ... Roast pork/ jelly fish/ braised beef/ bbq pork/ bbq duck platter... roast pork taste rare.. bbq pork was hard like a rock Steamed rock cod .. nothing special... over cooked Stired fried 2 live lobsters with green onion sauce... its fishy, not fresh and extremely salty... nobody had 2nd piece on my table. Deep fried crab balls... hardly find crab meat inside... mostly powder with fish cake..its not crispy at all Crab meat soup...put too much corn starch and egg white more than crab meat inside Dyed Boiled eggs... its supposed red color, but its orange color here Deep fried chicken... this is only dish I like..so crispy and juicy Scallops and prawns on broccoli... not enough for 10 people Mushrooms on peas sprouts... peas sprouts was too old and chewy Chopped bbq duck and chicken fried rice.. extremely oily and salty Red bean dessert.. tasteless Almond cookies... soft and taste old oil.. We wont go there again with this kind if food quality... They hardly change new plate, as kirin restaurant, I rather go to kirin more than here My friend paid $1000 / table + wine+ pop + xo + taxes and tips

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant and amazing dim sum. So much to choose from off the menu so just try everything! Only negative is the underground parking which is like a maze for those who are directionally challenged like me.

Yelp
Co written by mother, take out on Christmas day: The food here is not great, but okay. The service is not bad although they are quite slow as we got take out and waited 30+ minutes. The best dish we ordered was the pan fried turnip cakes. They were soft and very tasty with plenty of dried shrimps. The mushroom dumplings were also unique with lots of filling and a good dumpling skin texture. Most disappointing was their rice rolls (both beef and shrimp/chive). The rice rolls themselves were not very soft and were too thick. Everything else such as the sui mai, sweet and sour pork, eggplant stuffed with shrimp paste were nothing extraordinary but still good. Lastly, their menu is quite small with no steamed chicken buns or egg yolk buns. Overall, a bit expensive for dim sum but perhaps an eat in experience would be better.

Yelp
Went there with my parents and their out-of-town guests from, and had the worst dining experience of my life to date. We'd always left a big room for servers to serve food and take plates. It was a multitude of failures (server rushing, not trained, restaurant using big plates for esthetic reason/not for the quantity of food) combined to cause the server to knock over the hot tea from my table to my thigh. We were all being very still when the server came over, because we know better to let the professionals do their job. I was very shocked to be scalded ,but what was even more shocking was that the staffs did not know how to damage control. The server and her co-worker were all stunned at the scene, and I had to ask them for paper towels to dry up!? And her co-worker offered me ONE piece of paper towel! I told them this is very very serious accident, and they need to be very careful. It can cause serious burns if it happend to a child. All they said was "excuse me " in Mandarin and never apologize for what happened. I felt poor management at its best. During this time, no manager came to assess the situation and support problem solving. Just the two staffs looking completely dumbfounded. Manager came by a while later and acted casually. He made no effort in suggesting first aid or compensating for the accident afterward. My sister told me later that the manager said "we can't offer you discount because you ordered a set menu". I wonder if race has anything to do with this? Because we are Asians, they don't value us as customers? I seriously doubt how Michellin Guide recommend this establishment!

Yelp
The restaurant is located on the third floor, There is free parking on P2 And you just take the elevator up. Due to Covid right now they do take your temperature. I ordered takeout instead of dining in because there was a long line up. I requested the barbeque pork rice to be changed to Rice noodles with no additional charge. The bbq pork is full of flavour, sweet and smoky, I can tell it's been marinated for a while. The noodles were very bouncy. However the soup was bland; it would be better with duck. The siu Mai was good but Not enough truffle taste. The matcha pear shaped dessert had ample of sesame filling inside but I did not taste any matcha. Presentation wise it's very cute! The rest of the dishes we got were standard. I'm not sure I will come back for dine in dim sum but I've heard good things about their dinner menu so I will return for that.

Yelp
My favorite dim sum in Vancouver! So glad they finally opened! Beautiful chandeliers, private rooms, large tables, everything tasted fresh! Amazing service and free 90 mins parking in P2 & P3! We had reservations but there was still a litte bit of a wait but it was worth waiting for! It's next to Winners, so you can put down your name and shop around. There are many Neptune noodle/seafood locations but the others are not nearly as good as this one!

Yelp
The decor is very nice, the service was good, the dim sum food was only so so. things tasted fresh but no flavour Whatsoever. The price is about $9 for 4 pieces of anything. The place was clean. No line up plenty of parking. But if you are going for the food there are other places that are much better, want to impress out of town guests with a nice dim sum place this can be it but remember the food is just average. Would I go back? Probably not.

Yelp
We only recently noticed that the extravagantly large restaurant located on the 2nd floor of the Marine Gateway complex had changed from Ban Dao Peal to Neptune Palace Seafood Restaurant so we decided to pop in for a visit. The interior is expansive and impressive, right down to the blingy columns and the plush carpeting. The nice thing is that you don't feel squished in like some smaller restaurants. Our first dim sum dish to arrive was the Deep Fried Mashed Taro Pastry with BBQ Duck ($6.98) and I've got to give them extra points for presentation of this dish. While these dumplings looked more like swans than ducks, it was still fun to bite through the fluffy exterior nonetheless. As expected, the mashed taro makes this a filling item. The Beef Tripe and Tendon in Zhu Hou Sauce ($6.98) was quite tender and had plenty of tendon and honeycomb tripe but I felt that they needed to cut the pieces a bit smaller to make them easier to eat. One of the items that I thought they could have been better was the Chinese Donut Rice Roll ($7.98). The Chinese donut that was encased in the velvety rice roll had an inconsistent texture and seemed like it might have been sitting too long. Thankfully, the diminutive but tasty Beef Balls with Tangerine Peel ($6.50) dish was much better. These plump little darlings were tender and bouncy to the bite. Our penultimate dish was the Truffle Siu Mai ($6.98). While not on par with those found at Chef Tony in terms of truffle essence, there was a slight hint of woody aroma that wafts up before biting into the pleasantly springy pork and shrimp filling. While our first dim sum dish was visually attractive, I feel like they need to work a bit on their dessert items. The Osmanthus with Lychee Gelatine ($4.98) was a fairly basic upside down circular mold that felt more utilitarian than anything else. Fortunately, they were still pretty tasty. The prices here are a bit on the expensive side, which is to be expected given the pleasant interior. That being said, most of the dishes here were quite good. They do have free underground parking but you have to head on down to P2 to find the right spots. The elevators are also a bit confusing because the ground level is considered "2" so you have to pick "3" to get to the restaurant that's located on the 2nd floor. On a subsequent revisit, we tried their Stuffed Eggplant ($7.50). The Chicken Feet in Special Sauce ($6.98) were surprisingly huge. I almost thought they could have been turkey feet. We saw a bunch of other tables order the Pan Fried Pork Bun in Casserole ($6.98) but I've got to say that I wasn't overwhelmingly impressed by them. The buns were adequately fluffy but I found the filling to be too dry for my preferences. Their eponymously named Neptune Shrimp Dumplings ($7.50) had a definitely plump filling. Side note that the decorative centrepiece in the dish, while technically edible, isn't very tasty. Our last dish on this visit was the simply stated Beef Rice Rolls ($7.50) flanked by some veggies. On our third visit here, we retried the Chicken Feet ($6.98) and I found that my first piece wasn't quite as tender as on our initial visit. However, the other pieces in the dish were better. This time, we tried their Rice Roll with Crispy Bean Curd and Fish Paste ($7.98). Visually, it's very similar to the Chinese donut rice roll and I found that I really enjoyed the fish paste filling on the inside. Normally, we don't order Chiu Chow Dumplings ($6.98) because we're not a big fan of peanuts added to dumpling filling but I've got to say that these dumplings turned out pretty good. I'm not sure if it's because there weren't too many peanuts or if because they chopped them up. I didn't bother taking a picture of the inside of the Two Kinds of Sticky Rice Wrapped with Minced Pork ($7.50) but, needless to say, sticky rice is always a crowd pleaser. Last up is a dish that I don't usually associate with dim sum... Pan-Fried Beef Short Ribs in Black Bean Sauce ($9.98). While the meat was a bit chewy, I did really like the black bean sauce that it was served with. So, if you're looking for a dim sum place in South Vancouver and don't mind paying a bit extra, Neptune Palace has some good dishes to try out.
