Google
I stumbled upon Nesbit’s Poeyfarre Street Market while looking for a restaurant, and I’m so glad I did. This place is incredibly well organized and offers an impressive selection of food, snacks, and drinks (yes even booze!). The staff was not only friendly but super helpful, especially when I was being indecisive and needed a little guidance. It’s such a convenient spot and close to where I stay. I’ll definitely be back. This will be my new go-to!

Google
A Neighborhood Gem for the Essentials Nesbit’s Poeyfarre Street Market is the kind of place every neighborhood needs. It’s a great little bodega-style shop with all the basics — and then some. Whether you forgot something, need a quick snack, or just want to stock up on essentials, they most likely have it. The selection is surprisingly solid for the size, and the prices are refreshingly reasonable. It’s clean, well-organized, and super convenient if you’re staying nearby or living in the area. A reliable, no-fuss spot that always comes through when you need it. Definitely glad it’s there!

Google
Walked here from my hotel. Had the necessary items. Bread, cheese, and some sliced turkey. I wish the yogurt selection was greater than it was, but it was a good little store.

Google
Nesbit is close to the Convention Center and several hotels. There is an assortment of fresh salads, sandwiches, and wraps. They have cookies, chips, and an assortment of pantry items. There is also a huge selection of beer, wine, and liquor. I appreciate the charm the store has. The person working was very welcoming and friendly.

Walking by Nesbit’s Poeyfarre Street Market the thing that caught my eye was the original 1984 New Orleans Worlds Fair M.A.R.T. Gondola out front. I walked in and noticed how well stocked the place was and how friendly the staff were. The have a full selection of goodies, groceries, beverages and prepared foods. There is also a nice outdoor seating area.

Google
This little store has a pretty good selection of quality food and drink and friendly staff. It gets 5 stars for being open on 22nd January 2025 after the historic snowstorm. A day where many downtown stores and the bigger supermarkets were closed. Thank you.

Google
Super grateful my local neighborhood store was open during the storm! Very convenient location, and the staff were amazing—friendly and helpful. Definitely made things easier during a stressful time. Highly recommend. 🫶🏼

We were visiting from Michigan and we stopped into this establishment I was very impressed with this supermarket. It was very clean and the products on the shelves were very organized and the staff was friendly, I definitely will be returning when we’re back in town❤️

Yelp
This is a cool neighborhood market. I was in town for a convention and stumbled upon this place in search for some water for the hotel. It's a great alternative to the tourist traps found around town. Awesome place to grab some snacks, water, and a local six pack for the room. It's in walking distance from the convention center or you can take a quick uber. They also have grab and go food for a quick and easy bite. I grabbed a few brownies to take back. I wish I grabbed more.

Yelp
I picked up a healthy snack before work. Open the container and it was immediately hit with a smell Upon inspection I found this.

Yelp
Great little market and grocer 5 blocks from our flat. Cashier and helpers are very friendly and helpful. An array of grocery items from chilled water, sodas, beer, numerous snacks, zaps potato chips and homemade baked goods. Everything you need in the small convenience grocery store we bought sodas, beer, water, and snacks very convenient and friendly people too.
google avatar

Yelp
Little pricey but with no other stores nearby this is a great option. I was pleasantly surprised with the pesto chicken wrap! Just wish they had a little bit more healthy options.
google avatar

Yelp
This little hole in the wall has everything you could want. Frozen foods, snacks, booze, baked and pre-made stuff, fruit and veg, candles, even some basic toiletries, health care, and first aid. I was very pleased to find it so close to home. The prices are high, but if I need something and don't want to go all the way to Rouses, this is a great option. They even have Amy's products!

Yelp
"Okay" As more groceries open in this area, Poeyfarre has lost it's panache. No longer is it the hip corner grocery. Its high liquor prices and limited product array has rendered it Meh. I stopped in last month to buy a bottle of just standard champagne and couldn't find anything less than $25. Probably won't be back.

Yelp
Fantastic little neighborhood grocery store, perfect for tourists staying at the hotels near the convention center. Has a little bit of everything, including prepared foods and toiletries.

Yelp
Great little grocery! What a gem. Walking distance from the Hampton Inn (convention center) & the Hilton Garden Inn. I needed wine & super glue for our cruise and they had that and so much more! A bright spot, in an otherwise dilapidated industrial area, with a cute outdoor patio and lots of picnic types of foods ready to grab & go. So glad yelp helped me find it!

Yelp
Nesbit was cool, little shop that sells coffee, i ordered an iced coffee, it was fresh and cool, that is exactly what i needed on that day. Service was friendly and accommodating.

Yelp
Great store and friendly local staff. It's a good place to stop on your way into the French Quarter. This little shop is actually one of the places I'll miss the most when I have to move again. Just stop in when your there you'll find out immediately why it's such a cozy little place.

Wendy G.

Yelp
This market is adorable. They offer so many of the things you may need in a pinch. I was looking for bananas for my protein shakes I make for breakfast everyday. It's kind of tough to find them here in New Orleans. Their beer selection was great as well.
google avatar

Richard A.

Yelp
Finley little market with a good wine selection and cheese and salami for a snack without getting ripped off at hotel. A good find.
google avatar

Lolita M.

Yelp
We were staying in this area for a couple of nights while in New Orleans , this was the perfect store in the area. They have a little bit of everything in this store .

Jennifer M.

Yelp
The only parking is behind the store and it is $7 for 0-30 minutes!!! I am simply not going to pay $7 to shop for groceries.

Yelp
I'm more and more impressed with this neighborhood market the more that I go! I work one block away and every once and awhile I forget to cook myself a lunch the night before so I end up at the market to purchase a last minute meal. Selection and variety: Top notch! Prepared foods include salads, pastas, sandwiches and sushi from sushi bros. Other snacks include a variety of produce, cheese, ice cream, crackers, chocolates and more! Drinks; full refrigerator section with gourmet sodas, juice and flavored teas. Additionally, a wide wine offering, beer and liquor selections. Surprises; the market has a full coffee bar and breakfast selections including bagels (toasted on site), hard boiled eggs, muffins, gourmet butters etc. Non edibles; the market also carries seasonal items like hats, sunscreen and other summer necessities. Since the market is neighbor to several cbd apartment buildings, they carry paper goods, otc medicine, hygiene supplies, pet food and daily needs. Atmosphere; a patio out front with four umbrella covered tables provides a nice oasis to eat lunch, read the paper and enjoy the outdoors. Looking forward to my next visit and what other discoveries await me!

Yelp
Great little market in the neighborhood. It's easy, filled with great treats for any occasion and the folks there are welcoming and helpful. It's a great mom and pop market that I prefer to shop at over the bigger markets. I highly recommend going as it's just a nice place to do light shopping for the week

Yelp
Nesbit's came in clutch during my stay in New Orleans. Our hotel was about a 5 minute walk from this little store. They have all of your basic food essentials and they have local beers here too. Any time we needed to load up on waters or snacks this was our spot. Little pricey on some items but that is to be expected since it's not a huge grocery store. Great little spot to grab some grocery items if traveling to NOLA and staying nearby.

Yelp
This is a cute little neighborhood market! If you're in the area and don't have transportation or want to pay for a ride to larger grocers farther away, this is a good place to pick up basic things you might need right away. I wouldn't often come here though, since the prices are a bit high and selections are limited. But then again, I don't blame them for the high prices b/c they need to stay afloat, plus New Orleans is a food desert so there aren't too many other options around here. Lots of drink options right when you walk in -- didn't look too much into it since that's not what I was there for... but there was a pretty decent selection of wine/liquor/non-alcoholic beverages like iced teas, Vitamin water, energy drinks, coffees, etc. There's a refrigerated prepared food section, which is pretty convenient since they're in containers you can eat in if you're on the go -- spring rolls, pastas, jambalaya, sandwiches, salads, meat + veggie meals, etc. ranging from ~$6-10. The fruits didn't look too fresh or appetizing, and were too expensive for the quality (almost a dollar per fruit that was browning or mushy looking). Good snack options though -- chips, crackers, popcorn, bars, ice cream, you name it! You should be able to find at least one thing similar to what you're looking for. They even have laundry detergent, cleaning supplies, and things of that sort.

Yelp
What a great market in my neighborhood! Great selection of items, groceries. Very convenient. The staff here is truly the best and most friendly. It doesn't matter my day or whatever is going on, when I walk in, I am always greeted with a smile and asked about how things are going! (They always remember my family, things in my life and always ask about them) I'm sorry if I cannot remember everyone's names, but Hailey and Jade are really two of the sweetest and kindest people I have ever met! The owners, Beau and Nick really have put together something special in our neighborhood. If you ever get the chance, stop in to one of their 3 locations and say hello, I guarantee you won't be disappointed!

Yelp
The very kind lady with the nose rings made my day with the delicious coffees that's she carefully crafted to perfection. 11/10 stars!!!!

Yelp
Such a great little convenient store! Great beer and snack selection. The guy working the counter helped us pick out two good local beers. He was super friendly and helpful. Cheers!

Yelp
Love this place! COVID SAFE. If you don't have a mask, they'll offer one to you. Great selection of Covid safe products at the front counter. The coffee is fresh and there are deliciously decadent options in the bakery section. The fresh food section is always stocked with a Variety of goodies!

Brock S.

Yelp
Wow! This place has everything that you need including a great wine selection. The staff were really nice too and gave us ideas on places to visit during our stay in New Orleans. I would highly recommend stopping in. We even went back for espresso the next morning! yum

Yelp
It's a fine little grocery store but 5 star reviews? Really? The selection throughout the store is pretty good - including some nice cheeses and prepared items - but unfortunately a number of the prepared items always seem a bit old and not all are appetizing. Also, be aware that everything is quite expensive so this is not somplace that I would advise shopping for pantry "staples" if you have other options. Additionally, the small selection of fruits & vegetables don't usually look all that fresh so I would hesitate to buy them at Poeyfarre Market. Ultimately, if you don't have the time, transportation, or are too lazy to go to Rouse's (or the Crescent City Farmers Market on Saturdays) then Poeyfarre Market is a nice alternative. I'll go back occasionally but in addition to the high prices I'm not all that excited about going in for something that I really need and then finding that they're out and that I need to head over to Rouse's anyhow (I've already had a couple items that I needed which were out of stock). Let's be honest, Langenstein's in my old neighborhood was pricey but still worth 4-5 stars however Poeyfarre Market gets 3 stars from me as a fine neighborhood market with some upscale and organic options but certainly not a store I would suggest going out of your way for.

Yelp
Great quick-stop if you're in need of emergency food or toiletries. Well decorated and friendly. Okay prices. Food available ( chilled and ready ) that is child-friendly , and prepped for lunches. Fresh produce options are limited , but there.
google avatar

Rion B.

Yelp
This place has the best wine prices in the warehouse district. Unique selection. They also have beer and liquor too. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Staying at the Hilton 4 minutes away and needed snacks for an under two year old. Found this place on yelp and decided to go in. Got some cheese, whole milk, frozen edamame, crackers and bananas. Great location and lots of variety. It is a little pricey but the quality of foods are worth it. Will be back soon. There was a dead roach inside the store that I saw on my way out of the store. Notified the kind person behind the counter. Also next to the ramp to get to the store is a large pile of poop. Still there two days later as well. Small deterrent to entry, but always worth mentioning the external appearance of the store Returned two days later for more fresh bananas. They also have broccoli and fresh prepared foods if you want something a little lighter for dinner or to hole up in your hotel room. If I stay at this hotel next time I'm here, I will definitely go back. Three stars bc of the dead roach, it was about 2 inches... so yuck.

Yelp
I wish this place had been here when I lived at the Cotton Mill. They have a few tables and chairs out front and seem to be doing OK with the codos and apartments that have sprung up since Katrina. You can choose from a great selection of bottled beers and they have a better than average wine selection.
google avatar

Sonny M.

Yelp
They have so many drink options. I would come here daily to grab a coconut water and a candy bar. They also sell premade lunches like wraps or pasta.
google avatar

Kevin C.

Yelp
If you are in the neighborhood this is a great place to grab whatever you need to keep you fortified for a few days. Of special note (mostly to me), whoever makes the call on wine selection is a golden god because everything I have tried there is solid!
google avatar

Michael P.

Yelp
I just wanted to amend my previous review. Everything was made A-Ok and I will definitely be using this convenient little spot by my house whenever I need to pick up a few items or Premade meals when I'm too lazy to cook. :) Thanks to Nick!

Kay B.

Yelp
so expensive!! there's no reason a turkey and cheese sandwich on 2 slices of bread should be $9 lmao. you can get all the ingredients for that at a regular grocery store for less than that.
google avatar

Mehnaz R.

Yelp
Great food, great customer service- come early on Tuesday and Thursday for the Banh Mi. Such a great wine selection! And In their prepared food section the meat Mac and cheese and the wraps are on point. May not be the best coffee around but it's convenient, well priced, with a variety of baked good options for someone on the go. They also carry a lot of local New Orleans brand which I always appreciate.
google avatar

Robbie E.

Yelp
Great spot to grab a quick snack or meal! Great selection and friendly staff too. Have Dong Phong king cakes during the season, great sandwiches and pre cooked meals.
google avatar

Debra W.

Yelp
This is a really hip little grocery shop. It's very close to the convention center. They have a nice wine selection, grab and go soups, salads and sandwiches. I'm addicted to skinny popcorn so I was pretty happy to find it here. Cereals, chips, cheeses and meat. Also, cute tshirts and candles if you are looking for a gift.
google avatar

Melissa M.

Yelp
Its finally here!!! I'm the first to review it too, suckas! If you live in the area you know how long we've been waiting for Poeyfarre Market to open! Well it was totally worth the wait and exceeded expectations! This is not a dusty little corner store, it really is a mini Whole Foods, only its right next door, in walking distance and nicer! In addition to a variety of organic and local foods, they sell liquor, beer and wine. The prices are a little bit steeper than other stores, but you really are paying for the quality and the convenience! They even have these hard to find vitamins I love! There are also tables out front, so you can leave your dog outside while you grab a few things, then sit out front and enjoy them with your pooch! Whether you live, work, or visit the Warehouse District you must check out this store! Also, the owners and staff are beyond friendly. If there is something you'd like to see in there, bring it up, I'm sure they'll welcome the ideas, they're super accommodating and cool! I'll def be seeing more of Poeyfarre Market, you should too!!!

Yelp
I was staying at a nearby hotel and went to this market several times during my trip for drinks, fresh fruit and snacks. They have a decent selection of prepared foods like salads, sandwiches, and slices of cake and pie. One day I picked up a roasted vegetable orzo salad for lunch that was very good.

Caroline L.

Yelp
The costumer service in this market is top notch. Mike and Haley are always so warm and welcoming. Love the fresh food they sell too, specially the wraps!
google avatar

Karen W.

Yelp
Small little neighborhood store, selling basic grocery items, as well as prepared to-go foods. Prices are a little higher than your big chains, but the convenience can't be beat. We picked up some Zapp's kettle chips and a few desserts to snack on back at our hotel. The cashier was very friendly. A good option if you need some basic supplies or snacks and live or are staying nearby.
google avatar

Stephen T.

Yelp
Stopped in here the other day to grab some lunch. Amazing! Small, clean, attractive inside. Lots of organic items. As someone else said, like a little Whole Foods. I had their caesar salad, which was amazing. The sauce was very spicy - just the way I like it. Definitely recommend this little spot. Use it to avoid expensive hotel food.
google avatar

Sean R.

Yelp
Great for food and drink which you forgot to buy at the supermarket. With that said, the quality of food is very high and it would be very dangerous to shop for all your meals here as it can get expensive. Minus one star because they cannot for the life of them make a good coffee drink.

Elen C.

Yelp
Nice selection of healthy quick options for stocking the condo for a night or two. Great hours, friendly staff and clean atmosphere. They have some pre-made meals and a cute little courtyard to sit and enjoy a bite of you'd like. Thankful they are close by!
google avatar

Suzy K.

Yelp
They need more small markets in NOLA! We found this one walking back to our rental - had everything we needed: eggs, beer, cheese, cat treats, and mustard :)
google avatar

Ani B.

Yelp
Great little neighborhood market for when hunger strikes or you need a bottle opener.

Sara K.

Yelp
This was a sweet little find. The staff was very helpful. Nice wine selection. Made our stay even better to visit this market.

Samantha R.

Yelp
Great place to shop. Staff is amazing! Love Corey and Hayley! Always super attentive.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this grocery store yesterday and was shocked. Where have I been for the past 2 years?!? Never going to the pits of hell (Wal-Mart) again. Seriously this place has all the essential items with none of the hassles. I don't mind paying slightly more to keep my sanity. Fun people, cool Jams, local products, organic coffee, LIQUOR! I mean this is my kinda place. Customer for life
