"This winding ice expanse that travels through the heart of Winnipeg will take you from the city to the country all on one smooth track down the river. The length varies from year to year, but you can typically expect at least five miles of ice, plus warming huts and restaurants along the way." - Travel + Leisure Editors

Family of four, we had an incredible time at Nestaweya River Trail! The trail was beautifully maintained, and skating on a natural river was such a unique and magical experience. The scenery was breathtaking, with snow-covered trees lining the edges and clear, smooth ice stretching as far as the eye could see. The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, with cozy spots to rest along the way. Loved the warming huts and fire pits, which made it easy to take breaks and enjoy the winter vibes. Whether you're an experienced skater or just out for some fun, this trail offers something for everyone. It’s a must-visit for anyone looking to embrace winter in the best way possible.

Every year they do a better job, smoother, wider, better walking paths Hats off (make that toques off) to the ice crew! Best place to take visitors in the Winter

I love coming here to the skating trail. 3 times so far this year, each time has been a blast. Well maintained on both the land and river trails, one can easily be out for several hours. I love the warming huts out for display, makes for an interesting tour Definitely brings out the beautiful historic part of Winnipeg. Keep it up!

The trail was beautiful, but only enjoyable for skating if you bring your own skates. The rentals were horrible. I was able to get them changed 3 times, all three were extremely uncomfortable and had many issues. The last one I tried on had no ankle support, and I eventually had to get off the ice after an hour.

The skating was great. Ice is in great shape and the scenery and ice huts are great.

Best skating trail on the planet! The beautiful scenery, prairie sky and pristine conditions, along with a friendly crowd and slow-moving trains in the background, call me back whenever I can go visit my hometown. What are you waiting for?!!!!!

good trail, awful rental place. Wrecked me and my two friends skates, couldn’t even skate on them. hour long line considered not busy by the attendants who had no sense of urgency whatsoever. do NOT get you skates sharpened here.

Very nice place to do ice skating on the river. There are lights and places to take pictures.
