How Chef Jacob Harth Sources Erizo’s Menu on Oregon’s Coastline | Eater

"Intertidal clam beds where dark-shelled butter clams are dug up by hand with a shovel and scooped out; these clams are large, shallow-burrowing and prized for their deep pink-to-red meat. The chef uses the best sections raw on a shellfish tray, while other parts—such as the adductor muscle and the gut bag—are incorporated into preparations like garum to extract flavor. The clams are regarded as among the most delicious and versatile bay clams and are an important hand-harvested component of the restaurant’s coastal-focused menu." - Tove Danovich

It was a place where I stopped to take a short break during my drive and also let my dogs stretch their legs. I spent some time sitting on a chair set up in the truck bed, enjoying the view. There were puddles scattered around, and being the off-season, it didn’t seem to be very well-maintained. However, the scenery from this spot was beautiful, and it seemed like a popular camping area during the peak summer season. It’s definitely a place I would recommend.

Our first time visiting netarts and we got our limits of butter clams and gapers, easily!

The best time to be there is usually between noon and 2, because of the low tide

Best farm/ocean to table food I've ever had! Great service too! And now they have a seafood boil every Sunday! It was incredibly delicious!

It's Netarts! One of a kind, unique as far as bays go. The persistent, knowledgeable, and adventurous will be rewarded with their efforts with a rich bounty of what it has to offer. If no luck or too lazy there is always Nevør Shellfish company that sells fresh oysters.

Nice bay for digging Gaber and Cockle. For gaber, need a little walk further out. Sometimes if you lucky, you might find a good size crab got stuck in the water hole so watch out for them.
