Where to Enjoy a Glass of Chardonnay This Summer in the Atlanta Area | Eater

"This family-owned Alpharetta haunt has been a local favorite for years thanks to its breezy outdoor dining. With colorful mosaic bistro tables lining the sidewalk, this cafe offers the perfect perch for watching pedestrians wander by. Pair a crisp glass of Harken wine with a warm goat cheese and focaccia crostini — but don’t forget to check online for daily specials to mix up your order, especially if you’re a regular." - Vox Creative

Google
Fried pickles were delicious I love how they do the whole pickle instead of chips nice touch . Food was ok I would give another try me and my husbands chicken was really dry and had to send it back but owner was very nice and understanding. We will try again in near future also nice young woman at the front made everything better all around !

Google
Deep fried Brussel sprouts, bacon & cranberry…. outstanding combo. Meatloaf, mashed potatoes for a family…. Okay really you could for certain 2 if not 3 people. They offer coffee and cocktails, covered patio or if you choose to sit inside where the atmosphere is relaxing. Not just the food but service is always top notch.

Google
Place your order at the counter as you come inside and they will bring it to you when it is ready. You fill your own drinks at the drink bar. It has a nice setting for not having servers take your order, but it looses the quality experience for not having table service. The patio outside is covered from the rain and hot sun. The indoor area was a bit loud during lunch time. Food arrived in reasonable time, but not enough for a quick lunch. The burger was average, but it was pricy for quality. The potatoes in the vegetable bowl were not cooked long enough. A side party asked what to do with their dirty dishes. It wasn't clear how to leave your table.

Google
I got the Caesar salad with chicken salad. My husband got the salmon, Brussel sprouts, mashed potatoes, and cookie. We drank coffee and water. We ate here years ago when we lived in Duluth in 2019. We were in the area on Saturday and looked the place up, and it was nearby. Also, the baby changing table is in the bathroom on the right, not on the left. It is a very nice place and area. The food was wonderful, and my son tried salmon for the first time. There is a green space for our son to play next door, so that was nice as well.

Google
What a fantastic lunch in downtown Alpharetta. The managers and staff I spoke with were friendly. I had never been before so they walked me through the menu. Chicken Salad and pasta salad were tasty. Iced Tea was fresh. This place was popping for lunch.

Google
I love this place! Both times we've been the food and experience has been spot on! Everything tastes fresh and is delicious! I love the inside too, as it reminds me of a modern tea room but with more options! I want to come back and try their boozy frozen lemonade! Also worth mentioning are the fries (I'm picky and these taste hand cut!)

Google
We ate lunch at NET. We both had the burger and potato wedges. The burger was delicious and huge on a homemade bun. The staff were very friendly and the restaurant had a cool cafe vibe. We both can’t wait to go back and try something else off the menu.

Stopped by Any Place But Thyme in Alpharetta, and wow—what a hidden gem! I had the chicken salad salad with fresh fruit, and OMG, it was phenomenal. The perfect balance of savory and sweet, with every bite tasting so fresh and flavorful. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, and the service was just as great as the food. If you’re looking for a spot that serves delicious, well-prepared meals with great ingredients, this is it. Highly recommend!

Yelp
This place never disappoints. Have eaten here several times for brunch. The egg sandwich is super yummy and you can choose your bread. The reuben is nicely stuffed with stacks of lean corned beef. The cappucino was so good I had two!

Yelp
As I ordered ahead of time, 5 stars for the order accuracy and attention to detail. I ordered matzoh ball soup along with fish and chips. I requested that the soup be packaged separately from the matzoh to enjoy more broth. However, the soup was extremely salty and I couldn't finish it. Fish portion was fine but too much batter and of course the fries were frozen not house made. My take is that these restaurants should fine their focus and not try to offer something for everyone. The desserts and drinks looked appealing. The decor is joney and comfy. Parking around is a challenge. Fortunately, I found a street spot and dashed there in the chilly temps.

Yelp
they have the most absolutely fabulous quiche, Lorraine. Was there yesterday with three of my friends and we all ordered the quiche and one of them came out and it was cold and when she asked them to warm it up, they were going to bring her another one, but said that they were out. it was 1130 and they were already out .there was no one in the restaurant. They offered her a different type and she said yes.everybody was just standing around and we had to call them over to find out where her lunch was. , not really great service and that was disappointing. Not sure what's going on, but they need to fix it.

Yelp
This restaurant is always packed considering the location in downtown Alpharetta! There's definitely a reason why it's so packed! It's sooooo good! You come in and order at the front counter. They will call you when your food is ready. We ordered the French toast with apples and cream on the side (usually the apples and cream are served within the French toast). It was delicious!! Even the cinnamon apples on the side were delicious! We also ordered a side of scrambled eggs which were cooked perfectly. We were very impressed with this restaurant. You can come here for breakfast or lunch. They also have daily soups. It's usually very clean inside and there's even a window to purchase a coffee on the run. I'd highly recommend trying this restaurant!

Yelp
Busy Sunday morning around 1030am. Walked in, ordered at the counter (the lady was super friendly and nice) and found our table outside. I was impressed by the size of the portions, the freshness of the breakfast and the swiftness of the kitchen. I had the Ultimate Jumble (I think jumble is the right word). Definitely made to order. Had the choice of bacon or chicken sausage and the chicken sausage did not disappoint at all. It came with a large biscuit that was yummy. You can also tell the biscuits aren't cookie cutter type as they're all slightly different shapes and sizes. The staff pre-bussed our table and brought us Togo boxes as requested. All the other nearby spots had waits of close to an hour. We just walked in, ordered and ate in less than an hour! Don't sleep on this gem in Alpharetta's downtown (and just minutes from Avalon).

Yelp
Lobster bisque soup was so diluted with plenty of water as it should be thick , I didn't eat . Also their German breakfast the sausages were burnt and potatoes were reheated . Well we will never go back !

Yelp
Had a lovely lunch with a friend recently and had the chance to enjoy one of the little tables out front because the weather was simply glorious! This is a fast-casual restaurant where you order at the counter and get a number. The menu consists of delicious sandwiches, salads, and soups perfect for brunch/lunch. I went with the chicken salad sandwich on their Rosemary focaccia bread and it was delicious! You get a side included which is nice, and I chose the cucumber salad. Very affordable, and quick friendly service! I will definitely be back again!

Yelp
No clear instruction on ordering and seating Server walked past table with head down and looking away. I had to get her attention just to request a to go box. I was never asked if I needed anything else. Pretty quiet for a Saturday afternoon. Had the shrimp bowl which was decent Thai coconut chicken soup was not Thai or coconut in flavor or appearance. Mediocre experience

Yelp
The service was amazing. Family owed. The food was fresh, excellent, yummy flavors, & lots to pick from. Prices were avg. Very Clean. I was in town. First day got an amazing seasonal salad & it was so good I went back to dinner. I can not wait to visit them again. Cheers

Yelp
This place is a true treasure. The food is really good. They have the best wedge fries ever. However, the real treasure is the staff! Pam and Beth both serve at the bar and they make you feel like you're visiting with friends. They are warm, friendly attentive and make the experience one you can't wait to have again! I can't wait for my next visit!

Yelp
Great atmosphere, great service and great food. One of the best tuna melts I've ever had, and it's on gluten free bread

Yelp
My sister & her husband took my husband and I here while we were visiting Alpharetta and I fell in love with this spot!! There are soooo many awesome options on their menu! I truly could have had anything on their menu and would have been satisfied. From the salads and bowls to the sandwiches and full entrees - I'll definitely have to come back to try more! This time around, I got the Gourmet Grilled Chicken on focaccia - and YUM. The presentation was great and the sandwich was so flavorful - and that focaccia was on another level! Can't wait to come back here next time I'm in town!

Yelp
Got the (1) grilled chicken sandwich on rosemary bread with a side of mashed potatoes (2) NET scramble and (3) mandarin salad. (1) Chicken sandwich was soooo good--that chicken was seasoned perfectly and a thick juicy piece. Mashed potatoes were creamy, a mandatory side in my opinion. (2) NET scramble was good. It was comprised of scrambled egg, home fries, cheese, chicken sausage (or you can choose bacon), salsa and a biscuit with jam and butter. It was good but also just kinda standard brunch food? The biscuit was sort of dry. (3) Mandarin salad was amazing and SO BIG. I really appreciated the big portion (so many places give such sad, small salads). And it was delicious. It doesn't come with a given dressing, as in they ask you what dressing you want (ranges from ranch to balsamic). Total for the meal was around $50 I think which is slightly more expensive than I would've hoped for but portions were pretty b People who work there are nice and efficient. The ambience is also nice, sort of a cute spot but it's very busy (we went at noon on a Saturday though so maybe it's not AS busy during the week). But when we came, there was a line for the two cash registers and all of us were scoping out for a free table. It's street parking as well. Not too hard to find parking but might need to walk a little.

Yelp
3 words: chicken salad sandwich. On ciabatta bread, this sandwich is unbeatable. Any time I'm in town, I make sure to stop by. Workers are nice and service is quick. Inside is spacious and has a good vibe.

Yelp
Had lunch with my favorite person. We found this great restaurant while visiting Main Street in Alpharetta. My daughter had chicken tenders, and I had the chicken Parmesan. The portion were large, fresh ingredients, hot and reasonably priced. We also took away a Baked ziti with meatballs for my husband, that was from the cold case. ( They offer pre-made take away to cook at home) my husband loved it, and so did we.
google avatar

Yesenia B.

Yelp
Service was friendly and polite especially with large crowd. However the food itself was ok. We were a bigger party so we could try a variety of options. The breakfast wrap was really dry as well as the meatloaf sandwich. Hot chocolate was good along with the avocado toast. The latte tasted like it was maxwell international cafe powder mixed with warm tepid milk. It was overall fair perhaps even good but nothing to rave about either. Which I'm bummed about because I was actually looking forward to eating there :-/

Yelp
This is, hands down, my favorite place at the Alpharetta square! All employees and friends/family and they treat you the same. Fair pricing, amazing food, and amazing people. Be warned, it a central ordering point unless you're at the bar, so if you sit at a table and want another drink, there is no server. Their level of service and food quality outweighs this, and I'd recommend the place to anyone.
google avatar

Dave B.

Yelp
The sitting area extends outside to the patio and the sidewalk. The tables are spaced adequately and the staff are all wearing masks. Thank You. The brunch selections are plentiful and span from the normal to the unique. The English breakfast is my staple and always good. Delicious sausages (bangers) and potatoes seasoned just right. Very nice size portions. You need to be hungry to finish it! The staff is courteous and attentive. Great place for a Sunday brunch if you aren't in for decadent alcohol drinks or buffets. Get there early if you want to be isolated - the crowd will come as the day goes on.

Yelp
Good food and a large menu of typical lunch fair. Place is typically busy and lively but has a lot of seating.

Yelp
Sometimes you wanna go where everybody knows your name! This is that place. I cannot describe it. I just felt seen and cared about by the lovely lady running this delightful spot. She didn't know me and my friend, but she made us feel so special. She talked to us about the menu and helped us select just the right drink for the occasion. I ordered a spicy margarita, and my friend ordered a specialty Moscow mule. Both were delicious and served in a plastic cup so that we could walk around Halcyon with our beverages. We can't wait to return and try some of the food.

Yelp
Their service is always quick and efficient i love the mushroom bisque its absolutely delicious and their mimosas are a must!

Yelp
Never Enough Thyme is located in Downtown Alpharetta near the square and although it is a large restaurant, it gets especially busy and crowded for Saturday brunch. We came around noon and were able to find a table fairly quickly. We both had the Ultimate Jumble brunch, which is a bowl of potato chunks, sliced avocado, eggs, and bacon or sausage. Overall, it was satisfying and tasty but beware it's very carb heavy!
google avatar

Gretel Y.

Yelp
I'm a sucker for punny names, so it's no surprise I would be drawn to Never Enough Thyme. Besides the pun, the food is actually great and the service is excellent! I can't get enough! I would consider NET a gourmet, fast casual restaurant. They offer breakfast (on weekends), lunch, and dinner. The restaurant is open and spacious. Plenty of bar, table, and outdoor seating available. They get very busy during lunch, so finding a table may be challenging, but of the many times I've been during lunch rush, I have never not been able to find a table for two. I've tried several items, from sandwiches to salads to bowls to cookies to coffee. All have been prepared as described and delicious! My favorite item is hands down, their chocolate sugar cookie. It's unique and absolutely amazing. I can't leave without getting one!

Yelp
3.5 rounding up to 4 stars because they have a lot of great things going for them, but the food is still up in the air for me. This was my first time here so I tried the roast beef sandwich special: roast beef, blue cheese crumbles, and caramelized onions. I chose white bread and a side of pesto pasta. The sandwich was fine, but not great. It just felt like it needed something to brighten it up. Some kind of slaw would have be amazing. Maybe mix the blue cheese into a slaw/salad. The flavors and ingredients were just a little boring, and honestly not that tasty. The bread was a little soggy, it seems like only one side of the bread was toasted and it could have used some roasting on both sides. The highlight of the meal was definitely the pesto pasta salad. Great flavors, and a nice compliment to the sandwich. Also bonus points for having Pibb as an option in the soda fountain. I'm rounding up (not down) because of the building itself. The atmosphere is great, they have a nice large spacious dinning room, and they're right in the heart of downtown Alpharetta which is a great spot to be. I'll be back to try another sandwich - we'll see how it goes. Unless Batiwalla opens back up, then I'll just spend the rest of my life eating there as much as possible .

Yelp
The food was really good and flavorful! I brought my friends from out of town and they loved it. The environment is cute and a perfect lunch place. You order at the counter when you walk in. The service was great.

Murli S.

Yelp
Had walked past this place several times in Alpharetta downtown. Decided to try them for brunch one fall Sunday morning. The ordering process was simple. Order at the counter and they bring the food to you. They have a great location and nice seating. Not too noisy. The food, however, was average. Nothing I couldn't have made at home, possibly better. Ordered an avocado toast, my wife the shrimp and grits and our son the Nutella French toast. All good until I got my espresso. It was very average. Since I could get a refill, thought I'd try the drip coffee. Must've been the most awful coffee I've ever tasted!! They really need to get a a decent brew in a nice place like this. Overall, not impressed. Guess I was looking for much more with the location and ambience. There are other cafés in the area that are much better.
google avatar

Jennifer H.

Yelp
Ordered a company lunch from here, but never will again. I ordered gourmet chicken with goat cheese and sun dried tomatoes with spring mix but got the sad dry picture below. Others in my office were not happy with the freezer burned tasting Mac and cheese or over cooked salmon. We tried a new place but this one will not stay on the list.

Yelp
Good lunch menu in the heart of vibrant, downtown Alpharetta. Walking distance to DutchCrafters

Lindsey B.

Yelp
I had the wedge salad with grilled chicken and the mushroom soup. The soup was good however the salad was not fresh. The soup was good but for the cost the quality was sub par.

Yelp
This is a review for our meal that we had this afternoon. Now mind you we have eaten at NET many times over the last year between the 2 locations; everything we have ordered has been great. Until today... I had the chicken picata because with gong thru chemo I have not been able to eat fish, otherwise I would have gotten the grouper sandwich which has always delish. But alas the chicken picata... such a disappointment! None if it was hot, side of pasta room temp. Chicken was not only not hot nor warm, it was overdone as well. Husband's chicken parm was not hot, only the sauce on top was hot. We were there at around 3pm, only 1 other table with guests in the whole place. Everything should have been piping hot and delish. I did not take pics and should have. Such a huge disappointment when trying something other than the sandwiches we normally get. Major fail NET! I gave the second star because the snickerdoodle cookie is amazing!
google avatar

Christina V.

Yelp
I want to call this place never enough cookies. Queue the Greatest Showman soundtrack. I could NEVER eat enough of the cocoa sugar cookie. Honestly. Also the rest of their food is really good and fresh. Try the Caesar salad with blackened chicken. It's so good and made to order. I love a local cafe like this. But honestly, it's all overshadowed by that darn cookie. You will forget all your troubles. Not a care in the world. Seriously!

Yelp
Never Enough Thyme is located right in the heart in Downtown Alpharetta. It's a casual dining place with lots of great options. We stopped by for lunch and you order at the counter and find a seat. They have alcoholic drinks as well as your standard fountain drinks. We ordered the Cuban sandwich with the pesto pasta salad and the Gourmet Grilled Chicken Sandwich with a side of the sun dried tomato pasta salad. For some of the sandwiches you can pick your type of bread and I would definitely recommend the rosemary focaccia! The entrees were great for a nice, simple lunch. The pasta salads were good as well. And for those who can't have ham - there was slices of ham in the pesto pasta salad. Overall lunch was nice. We've heard great things about their brunch so I would love to come back to try that. If you're looking for a casual, simple lunch I'd recommend giving it a try.

Yelp
I've been wanting to stop in for quite some time and today seemed like a great day. I love the concept. I would describe it as "upscale fast casual". You order at the counter and then you're food is brought out to you. There is even a small bar, so you can have a glass of wine if you like. I decided to order the chicken piccata because it was listed as "the best you'll ever have. Unfortunately, it was closer to the worst I've ever had. Instead of thinly pounded chicken breasts, I received 4 chicken tenderloins. The lemon caper sauce was more like cream of chicken soup with a total of three capers on the dish. None of it was seasoned. The fresh green beans were definitely fresh and actually good, unfortunately, when I sent my dish back to be reheated (because it was served room temp) they nuked the life out of my green beans. Did I mention the focaccia? Cold and dry and a total waste of calories. The entire meal was a disappointment. Sad because this place is so close to home, I could see adding it to the rotation. But I don't see myself returning. There are far too many options in the area.
google avatar

TooHonest F.

Yelp
Overpriced food for a restaurant that only offers counter service. No greeting at door, no thanks you for coming and food made up in large batches ahead of time, not very fresh.
google avatar

Jane Y.

Yelp
The food here was pretty decent and we came upon recommendation. The Thai coconut soup was not rich and too light in flavor in my opinion but it was okay. The portabella sandwich on rye was very good and hit the right spot. The cucumber salad side was quite refreshing but admittedly we make a better cucumber salad at home. Prices here are very expensive. Food came into to be close to $20 for small portions and slow service as well as not spectacular quality. We were the only ones in the restaurant as well. The interior is uniquely designed I enjoyed the ambience with my mother.
google avatar

Rachel C.

Yelp
Friendly service, delicious food!! You can sit inside or outside and will have a great experience either way. I've ordered several things from the menu and it's been fantastic every time. Today, I ordered the fried chicken with green beans as my side and this has been the crispiest, juiciest fried chicken!!

Paula N.

Yelp
Yummy spot for brunch! We stopped by over the weekend to grab some brunch and luckily there wasn't a line. We were able to get a spot and order our food quickly. I ordered the NET jumble and added avocados. It came with eggs, biscuit, potatoes, chicken sausage, and fresh fruit. The meal was totally perfect and came out fast and hot. I also ordered their latte which was spot on as well. My friend ordered a sandwich which looked very appealing. Would recommend for a quick meal!

Tracy M.

Yelp
NET has come a long way --- it was the best kept secret at original location. Same great food, just better location(s) now. Cream of Mushroom and ALL their Quiche's are FABULOUS! Perfect place to meet for lunch with friends, or just to get away from office to relax. Alpharetta & Halcyon are both GREAT :)

TJ J.

Yelp
Been meaning to put this review for awhile, this place is absolutely fantastic! Food, ambiance, and great service. From sandwiches to salads to soups just delicious. Great lunch spot in downtown Alpharetta.

Michelle S.

Yelp
They have a nice covered outdoor patio. We had a caprese salad and sandwich, both were good. They have good to-go options. We had one that was rice, shrimp and chicken - nicely seasoned.
google avatar

Molly V.

Yelp
This place is delicious! Everything tastes fresh and is so yummy! I love the inside too. It reminds me of a modern tea room but with even more options! I want to come back and try their boozy frozen lemonade!

Joanie T.

Yelp
Very cute place with great service. I got the salad of the day which came with a scoop of chicken salad on top- everything tasted SO fresh. My sister and I also got the fried pickles with spicy ranch which were delicious, we ate them all. She ordered the grilled chicken sandwich and each half of the sandwich had an entire chicken breast on it! Insane portions, the best quality, delicious food! We were lucky to try a new dessert they were testing compliments of the chef. It was a tres leches cake and of course, so so good. This was my 3rd or 4th time here and it is consistently amazing. I've tried something new each time and have never been disappointed :)
google avatar

Mitch S.

Yelp
2nd time here. Good menu, but food is very average. Had wedge salad, which was soggy, Turkey Rueben (average Turkey sandwich with bland Cole slaw), fries (solid) and coffee (just ok).
google avatar

Sean C J.

Yelp
Of all the eateries in Alpharetta this one is the most down to earth, quaint, and tasty of them all! The prices are very good, the service great, and the food and drinks are phenomenal!

Curtis D.

Yelp
Good food and excellent location especially when there are bands in the green space. Food was good and they have some vegan options. Reasonably priced and good selection of drafts

Yelp
I am in love with new location of Never Enough Thyme in the Alpharetta City Center. Located right off Main Street, it is such a spacious location. They offer bar seating and high/low top tables. And, they have the cutest little tables outside if your prefer outdoor seating. When you walk in, just pick up a menu and place your order at the counter. When I dined in early July, they were only serving lunch and dinner, but mentioned that they would be serving breakfast very soon. Their lunch menu offered a variety of salad, sandwich, and wrap options. They also offer a gluten-free bread option for their sandwiches. They do not have a gluten-free option for their wraps. I hope they will consider adding that to the menu. I was in the mood for a salad, so I ordered the Rob's Pantry salad and added a salmon filet. It had fresh mixed greens, cucumbers, carrots, tomatoes, and shredded cheese. WOW. This salad was so tasty and so filling. I chose the lite ranch for my dressing and couldn't believe it was lite because it had so much flavor to it. I highly recommend adding the salmon to your salad. It was a nice portion size and worth the add in price. I can't wait to come back and try some of their sandwiches. Definitely stop by this place next time you're in downtown Alpharetta!

Sonya W.

Yelp
The food was really bad - overcooked unseasoned chicken fish and chicken. The patio was filthy (needs a cleaning and better storage). We never got our drink order 35 minutes and requested refund. The person at register made it seem like our fault that they couldn't find our table. Very disappointing overall experience. I except a lot more from Alpharetta Center establishment.
