Kick Off Memorial Day Weekend With a Chardonnay at These 15 Atlanta-Area Spots | Eater

"A weekend feels that much more leisurely when brunch is on the table at Never Enough Thyme, where you can enjoy their patio, even at, say, 3:00 p.m. Standout dishes include an avocado toast and breakfast tacos – both of which happen to pair fantastically with Harken Chardonnay."

A little disappointed to see this as soon as I opened my takeout plate. For the price I expected better quality. Service is nice but after reading the other reviews I can agree they should work on providing the food more fresh. Update: I ended up having to throw it all away. I was not able to eat either entree I feel sick after consuming the little I did. The meatloaf did not taste good at all. For roughly $20 a meal, I hate that much money went to waste.

I recently enjoyed a lovely lunch at Never Enough Thyme Halcyon, and it was nothing short of delightful. A true dining gem, this spot offers a nourishing and refreshing culinary experience. Our meal began with a vibrant plate of Fresh Blackberries, Blueberries, and Sliced Almonds served over a delicious chicken salad on a bed of mixed greens. Each bite was a symphony of fresh, crisp, and satisfying flavors. The Lorraine quiche, with its indulgent mix of bacon, Swiss cheese, and onion, was a savory delight—baked to perfection, it was a delectable and hearty choice. For dessert, we indulged in a slice of pecan pie that was simply heavenly, balancing sweetness and texture beautifully. Our refreshing nonalcoholic ginger and pomegranate beverage was invigorating, providing a perfect balance and complementing our delicious meal. Never Enough Thyme is an ideal spot to savor a healthy and delicious breakfast or lunch. Whether you're meeting friends or enjoying a quiet meal, it's a charming place to relax and delight in fresh, flavorful dishes. Highly recommended! 🌿🍴

Tonight we visited for the 2nd time since moving here! First time we thought the food and staff were amazing! After dinner we bought two take and bake meals and a pie for the week. All were incredible. Tonight was even better than the first visit. The Georgia Peach salad (tonight’s special) was probably one of the greatest salads I’ve had. The chicken salad was phenomenal. Both kids finished every bit of their meals. This is a new staple in our house.

This used to be one of my wife and I's favorite places. We'd eat here at least once a month. Unfortunately, about a year ago, something radically changed in their food quality and flavor. The key things that differentiated the food they made just disappeared seemingly overnight. I'm not sure if it's a change in their sourcing, or the chef that decides how things are cooked, or a combination of those and other things. But we have now been three times in a row and didn't even eat half our meals. The location is stellar and inside is comfortable with a wonderful bar and used to have very nice people working there. But if you don't have quality and unique tasty food on the plate, especially for a higher end price, people aren't going to keep coming. I know we won't be. Very sad to see this happen to one of our favorite locally owned restaurants :(

Wanted to try someplace new and read the review on this place. So my wife and I decided to give it a try. When you first walk in it’s a bit confusing. We stood at the front for awhile because we thought we had to wait to be seated. This is not the case. There is NO sign showing order at the front and seat yourself. After finding out the process, we ordered our food and found a table. Sadly, we were extremely disappointed with the food. The wrap lacked so much such as Buffalo sauce, chicken, and lettuce. The potato salad had extremely bland and needed a ton of salt. The Cesar Salad which to my surprise was also bland and had hardly any dressing. I’m not to sure we will be back but maybe if in the area we may try the breakfast menu.

Google
First time visiting. You seat yourself and order at the counter. We ate here tonight with a party of 10. The food came out quickly, everything was awesome!! I got the Cobb salad and it was HUGE. Other people ordered the Fried Chicken with Mac and cheese, the goat cheese with fruit, fish and chips, and mandarin chicken salad. Highly recommend! Wonderful location and staff.

Google
I have to agree with others that a first time visitor will be confused. Add us to that list. We didn't know if it was self seating or if someone would seat us. A couple of people told us to order at the counter and they would bring us our food wherever we sat. Signage might help. That being said, we'll go back and know the system. My better half hadn't had fried chicken since she was diagnosed as being GF and was surprised they had it on the menu. She loved her GF chicken tenders and the fries. The honey mustard sauce was unique, but good. I had the fish and chips and the cod was battered beautifully and the remoulade sauce was some of the best I've had. Reminded me of the tartar sauce at Rheinhart's in Augusta, GA, if anyone has been there. Fries were nicely seasoned . Overall it was a good experience. Lots of choices, including GF options, and beverages. Look forward to going back, soon. Renee and her staff were terrific.

We have been to this restaurant more than once and we love to sit at the bar! The bartender Rene is amazing! She helps with great suggestions on the menu! My friend loved the wings. Everyone is friendly and welcoming! They also offer a great happy hour and I like that they offer a CBD alternative when I am not drinking alcohol. Always a fun time when we go there!

Yelp
This place is so poorly managed, it's not worth the effort of going there, despite the food usually being pretty good. I've previously given them a strong review because I enjoyed my meal but their lack of customer service can't be overlooked. This location constantly closes early without any forewarning on Google or their website. You will not know of their decision until you drive all the way to Halcyon, park three floors up in the deck and walk all the way to the restaurant to find their handwritten sign stating that they closed at 3, which is 5 hours early (which happened to me yesterday but not for the first time). I'm done with this place and their unprofessionalism and total disregard for their customers. If they don't give a crap about me, I'll return the favor. Looking forward to them going out of business so we can get a better restaurant in this spot.

Yelp
Went to this establishment for lunch with friends here yesterday! Right at Halcyon center, close to the parking deck with friendly employees and quick service. I ordered a slice of spinach quiche which was delicious and creamy. I upgraded my side to a soup for 2 dollars (it came with a salad or fruit cup) and it was not good. I asked for a bowl of Texas sirloin chilli (special of the day) and it was not even warm. I asked to be heated and it was still lukewarm. And so oily at the top. There was a good bit of steak in it but it was floating in a pool of oil or coagulated cheese after they nuked it in the microwave for me. My friends had a chicken salad sandwich and a cream of mushroom soup and a salad which looked decent. My friend also said that their matzo soup is not good either..

Yelp
I thought it would be better than it was. Not bad, just wasn't what I expected. Close to Hilton Garden Inn.

Yelp
Flavor of food was bland tho soup was not Thai at all just chicken soup. Service was not there server walked past me and looked away instead of asking if I need anything. Restaurant was decent but most tables dirty

Yelp
I love this place. The menu is so unique and the drinks are phenomenal. It's a perfect thing to go with the Halcyon vibe. You must try.

Yelp
Loved everything about my lunch here! It's got a full bar to the side, so perfect place to grab a cocktail with friends. We came for lunch and I ordered the chicken salad sandwich on rosemary focaccia bread and LET. ME. TELL. YOU. That was one of the best sandwiches I've ever eaten. It came with a tomato and lettuce and I added just a bit of salt and pepper. YUM. The chicken is more shredded than chopped which makes the world of a difference. Served with a pickle and choice of side. I got the pasta salad (4 stars) but the sandwich is enough to have me raving. I promptly went home and googled how to make home made Rosemary focaccia bread so I can attempt to recreate this!

Yelp
Wow! I don't think I ever have had a quiche as creamy and smooth as the veggie quiche I ordered here--and that includes the ones I make!!! Also, the slice was more than ample! I had mine with a fruit cup and the fruit was fresh. My daughter and granddaughter split a veggie quiche and a chicken salad sandwich and loved their selections! Granddaughter also ordered a peach mimosa (which I sampled--yum!). Very quick and friendly service, with a comedic vibe to play on the restaurant's title. Lots of fun!

Yelp
Quick and the food was great. Very friendly service. Good selections on the menu. We would go back

Christy P.

Yelp
Very disappointed. I order a Rob's Pantry Salad with grilled chicken. The cucumbers looked and tasted bad. I think they were old or had been frozen then thawed out. The chicken was very dry and hard to cut. I have had fresher salads at fast food restaurants. I spent $25 on the salad, drink and a tip for the counter person. Overall, too overpriced for the quality. I gave it 2 stars because the person at the counter was very nice.

Yelp
So this is the second location for this cute little restaurant, now located at the Halcyon. After my facial, my boyfriend and I decided to grab some food for carryout. We settled on this place. I've been to their other location for lunch, and had a pretty good salad. Staff was friendly, and we ordered effortlessly and waited about 15 minutes for our food. I immediately saw avocado toast and had to get that with a poached egg on top. He ordered the breakfast burrito with grits and chicken sausage. We drove home, and ate our food immediately, so I was pretty disappointed that it was really lacking in flavor. I think some seasoning and some microgreens or arugula would help pep it up. Also my bread was really soggy which I hate. My boyfriend said his breakfast burrito was good. I ate his egg, since he doesn't like eggs too much. I thought the eggs tasted fine, but again, was really bummed about my toast. For $25, it was a sub par meal for me, but my boyfriend's seemed to be better, so 3 stars. Maybe I'll come back, and get the wrap next time. Skip the toast.

Yelp
The restaurant next door was closed so we were walking by this gem and decided to go in. Not a disappointment! The cashier was friendly. They have a variety of items to choose from! I got the salmon omg it was so delicious! My husband got the chicken casserole which he loved! Our friends got the shrimp tacos and roast beef sandwich! We ate everything! Definitely coming back!

Yelp
I'm a HUGE fan of the Never Enough Thyme in downtown Alpharetta, so I was ECSTATIC when I heard they were opening one near me, in Halcyon! This location is just as big at the original and also includes outdoor seating. It's situated in the middle of Halcyon, across from the green. The restaurant is open and spacious. Plenty of bar, table, and outdoor seating available. The customer service is consistent with the original, excellent! Their team is super friendly and super helpful. The menu is also consistent. They offer breakfast (on weekends), lunch, and dinner. My go-to is the grilled portobello mushroom salad. Then add a salmon to it for extra protein. The portion is generous and very filling, even for a salad. It comes with mixed greens, cucumbers, tomatoes, carrots, and two big portobello mushroom caps with mozzarella cheese. It goes well with balsamic vinaigrette. The salmon is always cooked perfectly. Juicy on the inside and seasoned well. Love this place. I could go on and on, but there's not enough thyme for that. ;) Just go and see for yourself!

Yelp
Had lunch with my favorite person. We found this great restaurant while visiting Main Street in Alpharetta. My daughter had chicken tenders, and I had the chicken Parmesan. The portions were big, the ingredients were fresh, the Ceaser salad is a must! (Next time I will try a full size salad with a protein added) also took away a Baked ziti with meatballs for my husband, that was from the cold case. ( They offer pre-made take away to cook at home) my husband loved it, and so did we. Believe me this place is awesome.

Yelp
This place has been a go-to for a few years now (they have two locations), but they also had an older location, which moved to Halcyon. The food has been amazing. The poppyseed chicken is my favorite, but I do venture about the menu. Service is on par with food being prepped after you order (it's not fast food) and can sometimes take 20 minutes to get an order. There are no waiters unless you sit at the bar. So, you need to go up to the counter and place your order, then someone will bring it to your table when it's ready. I read a review from someone that apparently was not all that bright, who stated she sat at the table and no one came to take her order. She then proceeded to give a one star review because of her own stupidity. Don't give her review any weight, she clearly is lost in her own world. Try this place out! Food is great!

Yelp
We tried to buy a cookie Friday night at 8:45 (they close at 9 says the sign on the door) we were told very short and rudely that they were closed and couldn't buy anything. They had customers in the restaurant and outside siting. The lady told us she has the right to close early and she plans on leaving in 5 minutes. I was appalled by the rudeness she gave us. Never have we been treated this way. This is always our last stop after dinner when we are at Halcyon, we go here all the time around the same time to get a cookie or one of their yummy treats. We would have paid cash so she didn't have to deal with the credit card machine. She wouldn't give us the time to even suggest. They use to have really sweet staff and managers that was very friendly and would never treat a customer the way she did. Unfortunately they lost our business for good. If a company is going to treat their customers the way we were treated then they must not need the business. Maybe that's why they don't have the business if they are going to act that way to customers. The square was busy. They must be content not making money.

Valerie M.

Yelp
This place never disappoints. I have been going to the Downtown Alpharetta location for years. My boyfriend lives their quiches because they are just the best! Michelle, the owner, is so sweet and so is her staff!

Yelp
I have walked past this place every time I go to halcyon . Went here on a Saturday looking for some breakfast food and coffee . I ordered the breakfast sandwich with rye bread . I think this is the only thing other than the potatoes that looked good for breakfast. My friend ordered a German breakfast which wasn't great at all ; the sausage was cooked too much or was cooked much before it was served (mind you we got here at 10:30am) . I also don't like the coffee they serve here . Decent lil spot for sure and the food looks better than it tastes .
google avatar

Michelle T.

Yelp
Just tried the nitro cold brew at the Halcyon location. Not a fan. Very weak. Don't expect it to taste like SBUX, which does have a full, rich, decadent flavor.....without adding additional ingredients. My friend liked her iced coffee.

Iman K.

Yelp
The sandwich (gourmet grilled chicken) was extremely dry and tasteless, as was the rosemary focaccia bread. There was barely enough goat cheese and the chicken was also extremely chewy. My friend got the NET burger, which was a little better, though.

Yelp
Never Enough Thyme has the best reuben sandwiches. That's what I have ordered from here for the past 12 years. Perfect reuben with a side of chips and a pickle. The soups are delicious and everything tastes like homemade.

Yelp
First time to the restaurant. Really good comfort food. A nice surprise. Don't hesitate to try. Order early so you don't miss out on the specials.

Yelp
Great place for brunch. We had a party of 7. Food served quickly. Staff was super friendly. Great ambiance. Good menu. Our group had shrimp & grits, breakfast taco (with smoked salmon), French toast, cinnamon roll, and shrimp & grits. Food was delish. You won't go wrong here.
google avatar

Yelp
I'd like to review the food but never got to try it. My husband and I walked in this afternoon and basically begged the people working there to help us. They couldn't be bother. Granted this was at 4 pm, when it was super quiet. They didn't seat us. I finally locked eyes with them and motioned do we just seat ourselves and they nodded. We then sat there for ten minutes while one lady chatted on the phone and another male stood behind the counter occasionally looked our way before starting a conversation with another man who walked in (possibly a delivery driver, maybe a friend). He definitely wasn't a customer. We finally got up to leave. We were seated a the table closer to the counter. They couldn't have cared less. I would be worried if I were the owner.

Yelp
My daughter ordered the chicken soup that was definitely from a can. My chicken salad sandwich with added onions had two of the big onions and stale bread. I also ordered the Ruben and the bread was oily. I'm sad because I wanted this place to be amazing, they have two amazing locations near me.
google avatar

Julia M.

Yelp
My friend and I came here during the 80's night bar crawl and both ordered a tequila sunrise, they were delish. Bartenders and all the employees I came in contact with were kind and friendly.

Keith D.

Yelp
I can't say enough about this place! We are on a road trip from California to Georgia and back stopping in many places in between and went to "never enough thyme" for lunch and it was one of the best lunches we have had in a very, very long time! I had the barbecue chicken salad, my wife had the French dip that was on special and our friends split another French dip and also had a Caesar salad as well as a Caprese salad. The service was fantastic, people were friendly, and we will definitely be back!
google avatar

Tasha H.

Yelp
So I have to get back here to try the food, but the frozen drinks are yum! My family and I were on our way out and saw the window ad for the frozen lemonade and frose. I stopped by the cute little to-go window and asked which one the server recommended. She gave very detailed descriptions of each and also let me try both. I ended up choosing the frose and she added a shot of vodka at the top. Great customer service and the drink was delicious.... can't wait for warmer weather again. The server was so nice and hospitable that it made me want to try more there, but I had just eaten. I'll definitely be back and will update when I try the food.
google avatar

Lauren E.

Yelp
We visited on a Sunday for brunch and had high hopes for our meal. We started with the frose, which was delicious! Would definitely get that again. My husband and I both got the breakfast sandwich on their focaccia bread, which did not disappoint. The reason I gave 3 stars is because the service was mediocre at best, they seemed to be out of a lot of things, and our other friends didn't love their food. I'll probably give them another shot just for the frose, but hope they can improve the service.

Brian A.

Yelp
Don't waste your time. Yesterday was the second time I visited this place and the second time I was ignored for 15-20 20 minutes. The employees were too busy sitting at the bar, talking with their friends. They would look over occasionally, seeing me sit at a table in the bar area waiting to be greeted, but decided their conversations were more important. I'm always open to giving someone a second chance, especially with staff shortages, weekends, etc. Unfortunately, my experiences seem to be the norm with Never Enough Thyme, given some of the other comments/reviews posted on Yelp and Google. Spend your time and money at establishments that appreciate your business, like HobNob or Cherry Street.
google avatar

Ken H.

Yelp
My wife and I walked by this restaurant every time we come to Halcion we agreed it was worth a try so tonight we tried it probably shouldn't have the food was mediocre at best not very much flavor just not very good at all. If you have an opportunity down here I would suggest you keep walking I got a Cherry Street brew pub or one of the other restaurants on the grounds OK I won't add any more enough to say it's me he did that OK
google avatar

Robin R.

Yelp
Ordered the Special...Quiche and 1/2 salad. Quiche was way over cooked! Crust was so burnt it wouldn't break 1/2 way through and top was a super dark. Salad was good but basic. An expensive lunch for a mediocre meal.

Fun Family T.

Yelp
It's been a while since we were at this place and it used to be our favorite. This past Saturday we thought of it and were very excited. The food was absolutely inedible; stale potatoes and the meat in the hamburger was like an old shoe sole. There was a little cup with little pieces of fruits that looked like they were cut a week ago. I couldn't even finish my coffee, started with black first and then added something white (definitely not milk or half-and-half). Both versions were bad. The food was very expensive, and the quality left much to be desired. To top it off... a few people, including myself, were wiping the tables before sitting. I guess it was our last time...

Yelp
Loved the walk up window set up. Great bourbon selection. Went with the old fashioned and can't complain. My wife loved the cherry.

Chris R.

Yelp
Amazing and courteous owner and staff! Every type of sandwich so far has been amazing balance of flavors and a substantial meal for a great price!

Leslie S.

Yelp
Super great salads. I took half to go! Great service as well. The fried shrimp were a bit chewy but otherwise we really enjoyed it and will be back!

Marissa Y.

Yelp
We tried to order online but because online ordering isn't available at this location, we called our order in. My boyfriend ordered for us and specifically said no meat or protein on the egg and cheese, just the egg and cheese because I am a vegetarian and the girl on the phone verified no meat on it. We also ordered a caramel latte with oat milk after asking if oat milk was available for the coffee, and the girl on the phone verified they had it. We got there in 20 minutes and they said they didn't have oat milk and asked me if I wanted to substitute it with almond or whole so I chose whole milk and when she made the latte it was so scorching hot I couldn't drink it for 20 minutes! IT ALSO JUST TASTES LIKE HOT MILK! There is no coffee flavor whatsoever! They also put bacon on my sandwich and had to remake it when I got there, which is a lazy mistake! Good thing we checked before we left. Our order was a sandwich, a wrap, and the potatoes for each of us it shouldn't be that hard to make a small order correctly.

Kevin H.

Yelp
This is the absolute best place ever....i love working at Never enough thyme Mr.Robert has showed me so much new ways to cook and how to.serve awesome food

Kaitlyn S.

Yelp
I absolutely love this place! All the food I've ever had is amazing. The homemade dressing are delicious. Service is great.

Tom Q.

Yelp
Nice friendly staff, but the food was mediocre or worse. We went there as their menu looked interesting. My dish was someone's version of Shepherds Pie. It was a layer of ground beef with a dry layer of mashed potatoes. I have had this dish hundreds of times in the past and this was the worst version so far. If the chef had added anything to this dish it would have been an improvement. The other members of our party said that the salads and sandwiches were ok, but not something they would order again. It could have been a bad night for the chefs, but they should really taste what is being cooked. The server staff were great, I just hope the chefs get their act together.
