On the Grid : Once in Cape Town

"This hotel is the friendly neighbour one of Cape Town’s trendiest coffee haunts Yours Truly. The first floor is a hostel and backpackers where you have the option to share with others. The second floor is similar to a budget hotel and the third floor caters for guests staying longer than a month. The hotel encourages guests to eat, sleep and explore with weekly recommendations found on the board in the reception. There is free Wi-Fi and breakfast-on-the-go from Yours Truly. This is the ultimate spot for millennials looking for the Cape Town experience." - Yellow Door Collective

I had a fantastic stay at N@H Kloof Street! The staff were truly exceptional — super friendly, helpful, and made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. The backyard with the braai fire pit is such a vibe — a great place to chill and meet fellow travelers. I also really appreciated the little touches like complimentary tea and coffee, which felt like a small luxury.||||The yoga classes were a surprising highlight and added something special to the experience.||||There’s still some room for improvement — soundproofing in the rooms could be better, and the water temperature in the showers was a bit tricky. But overall, I had a great time and gave high ratings across the board. Would definitely stay again!

We booked a 4-bed female dorm room! Super spacious and such nice natural lighting - we also had a beautiful view of Table Mountain. There is an awesome rooftop deck with an awesome view as well. For female dorms, each female gets a wine voucher for their bar in Greenpoint which has the best burgers and drinks specials with pool and beer pong - right across the stadium for big events ! The staff are friendly and very helpful! i was able to call and book a car parking space without any hassle! The location is one of the cherries on top as it is right next to the to Blondies and Zuneys and has awesome, lovely restaurants and bars in the area.

My visit to Never@Home Youth Hotel was way more than I expected! I chose to stay there because of the fantastic location - Kloof Street in Cape Town. It is THE STREET to stay if you want to experience the unique Cape Town vibe and not have to get into your car to visit a restaurant. We were offered safe parking for our car and Ruth, the Manager, attended to all our needs and made us feel welcome. Although the room was small, there was everything one needs for a comfortable stay. Much more than is expected of a Youth Hotel (Backpackers). We had a lovely comfortable queen bed with white linen, coffee and tea with mugs and a kettle. Enough blankets for the cold weather and even a safe. But the best of all was the staff. I have stayed at many 5- and 4-star hotels with good service from the staff but the customer service of Never@Home was on another level! Check-in was professional and fast and immediately links you to a Never@Home WhatsApp group where you communicate directly with the staff member on duty. Whether you need suggestions on restaurants or need a hair dryer, the reply on whatsapp or a knock on your door happens within 5 minutes! There is a Gerhardus and his team created a fantastic and unique space for people from all ages, not only young people. YOURS TRULY is an onsite restaurant and bar and we love the private deck area reserved for guests. There is a small outside gym, bikes to rent, outside seating in the garden and a communal kitchen should you want to prepare something to eat. Will I book a swop their again? Without a doubt!! Well done to the entire team.

IMO this is the most well managed hostel (I would call Hotel) I’ve seen in the world. Perfectly clean, staff absolutely well trained and professional. Rooms better than regular hostels, almost like budget hotel chains. Rooms with king bed are really comfortable. The atmosphere is vibrating, great vibe around. Thursdays and Fridays night are very busy and noisy. If you like calm and silent places, definitely this is not for you. The noise from the bar downstairs can be bothersome and the shower should have more pressure. But still a top shell place for me with a very outstanding location on Kloof Street. Just go for it!

We stayed in room 101 on the first floor. The room was good, but the music from downstairs was so loud that we could not sleep through it, even with the earplugs they leave in the room. It also says that it’s less loud between 22:00-08:00 but that was not it. The music stopped at 23:30, which was fine. But the staff en people were loud again at 5:30, so the first two night of our stay were very short. After that, we decided to ask what options there are. Luckily, we could change room to the third floor. This was much better! It was nice that they thought with us about a solution. But know that it’s often very loud there!

This hostel was a great place to stay, very good location in the middle of all the action. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I was travelling on my own and a bit nervous but the staff put me at my easr and I met lots of people.

They are very strict about not checkin in before 2pm and started the process only after that and it still took quite long, we were in a bit of a hurry so it was a bit annoying. The private room was quite spacious and we had a nice view of the lions hill, but the cleaning staff will ignore the 'do not disturb' sign (happened two times) and just enter.

The staff was so great and joyful. The room had so much space, the bathrooms was cleaned regularly and reception had a lot of knowledge of the places around and activities.||It is a very lively street but I had a room on the first floor with a Table mountain view (very beautiful) and I heard absolutely no noise at all. ||I would 1000% return!!
