The Neville is always such a fun time! They have a mix of static and variable exhibits, all of them providing insight and knowledge into the world! Featured in my photos was a limited time dinosaur exhibit with a real life paleontologist! My kids always love it here.

I recently visited the Neville Public Museum at 210 Museum Pl, in Green Bay, WI. This is a very nice museum located at a beautiful site with plenty of parking. I walked the museum and enjoyed many of the exhibits on display. Some displays were specific for this area and provided a nice history. I did enjoy the art display of kitchen utensils one spoons all made in art works.

This is a very cool place. I didn’t have the time to go inside but I loved being able to see the exhibits that were available for outdoor viewing. I can’t wait to come back to Green Bay and schedule myself the time to come check this all out. Also, nice touch by letting the dinosaurs wear Packers colored hats.

This smaller museum has a lot of great local artifacts as well as displays from local artists and modern conversation points on display. There is a fee if you don't reside in Brown County, but the price is worth it to keep history alive and visible for everyone to see. The counter staff was super informative.

This museum may appear small, but there is a lot going on upstairs! I was pleased there was so much to see, but some of the displays had so much going on with only generalized dating. It would have been nice to know more specific timelines for the rocks, shoes, etc., that were in slightly crowded spaces. Some shelves were too high to see. Overall, though, I really did enjoy my time.

Google
We visit this museum usually twice a year. Love the Prange’s Christmas window displays- we went last year and again this year. It’s a beautiful, well-kept museum with rotating displays. Great for a couple of hours.

Google
This museum is different than most I've been too. A large verity of local and state history. Antique guns, clothing and dinosaurs fossils. Took about an hour to go through. It's nice to see local surrounding history. I would say out of all my travels this place is at the top 10 places too visit!

Was meeting up with family, & due to the children's museum being overly packed, decided on coming here. Machines were down initially, so getting tickets purchased took much longer than expected, & were way pricier than you'd think. I expected the museum to be more inclusive of all ages, but it's very much geared toward CHILDREN. No biggy, we were there for the kids. It looks HUGE from the outside, but once inside, the exhibits are very small & kinda meh (all my kids were baffled at how what we experienced was basically "IT"). No working restrooms, so I took multiple trips outside IN THE POURING RAIN to take kids to the porta-potties. Not much fun, go figure. I honestly won't be back, & I wouldn't waste your money here either. Take those you love somewhere you can express that love for them. This is definitely not the place!

Yelp
Very nice museum; worth a visit. Interesting and informative interactive exhibits. Also a nice event venue (weddings, etc.). Scenic location along the Fox River.

Yelp
I cannot speak for the whole museum, but the LGBTQ exhibit is outstanding with both national, state and local history. The parking lot is plentiful and easy ADA to get in. There is an elevator to make ADA needs easier between floors. The gift shop is a little narrow in a few spots. The facilities were not available when there and uncertain how long that would be, but did have portable options outside.

Yelp
Took my nephew here after school on a whim afterschool on a Wednesday. Seriously cool museum. Really well thought out an executed exhibits that were interactive to keep his mind engaged. He is 10 and very much a boy. So being able to move onto the next exciting thing is Paramount to hymns staying in a good mood. And not getting bored. There were lots of features stairs that were geared for people a little bit older than the little ones. So I'm eager to get back and explore all the drawers for all the historical things upstairs without him. Lol.

Yelp
I feel like this is almost a hidden gem. It doesn't look like much on the outside but there actually is a lot on the inside. The lady at the front desk is not full of life at all but once you're in ($9 a person, we had three adults) there's so much to see. You have the exhibits right away to the right. A lego version of the Green Bay Packers Football Stadium (which you can buy a lego person and have put in the stands) and then the youth exhibit down the hall as well as the restrooms. On the way there you'll see a set of stairs and a store. The store has a lot of things. You'll miss it and it's almost like a museum itself! It's got stuffed animals, books, foreign jewelry work, toys, Christmas items, wind chimes, and more! Once you are done down stairs, head on up and everything is up there! More art work, historical facts of Wisconsin, army sections and tons more to see. Lots of hidden gems and facts to read and look at. It's all interesting and there is tons of different sections to walk through. We came here because we are visiting from California and it was a really good place to visit to pass time and see some of Wisconsin. We got to learn about it and see lots of things as well as being home some stuff from the store! It's hard to find wooden dolls for a good price so it was a perfect find there at the store. We almost went back to buy them all! Once you get passed the staff and everything the exhibits and everything are so cool to look through. And really take your time there's no rush and you don't feel rushed at all! The pieces are amazing and the artists have done a great job. It was definitely worth the visit and not a waste of time for our trip at ALL! We love art galleries and things like that and I'm glad there was something for everyone.

Yelp
We were visiting from iut of town, looking for things to occupy the day. We came across the museum and stopped in. The staff was super-friendly. The price for four of us (Adult, 2 seniors, 1 child) was $24- not a bad deal. Downstairs had a lot of nice exhibits all about the history of Brown County and the Green Bay area. There's more to Green Bay history than just the Packers! Who knew?! In a separate room, a giant Lambeau Field made out of Legos was on display. Upstairs was gorgeous. So many well-crafted and cared-for exhibits on seemingly every aspect of Green Bay and its rich history. I learned a lot about my hometown.

Yelp
I'm a big fan of the Neville. The last few years, they've been bringing some interactive exhibits. I tend to go with my little brother as we've been interested a few of the exhibits. Most recently was the neon light exhibit with a bunch of old signs from different kinds of businesses. Of course I liked the old beer signs like Blatz, Schlitz, Hamm's and Stevens Point Brewery. It wouldn't hurt to bring a pair of shades looking at the some of these lights. They also had exhibits on Dinosaurs, Civil War, and a new exhibit about Mexicans moving and living in the Green Bay area. What's fun is they'll have little random signs with quick easy facts that are suitable and more interesting for kids. For some of the exhibits they'll have a wall with a question and you fill out a sticky note and put it on the wall. You get to see everyones answers. A fun way to keep you engaged. Other notable exhibits I remember were the Arcade exhibits, seeing and playing some really old-time arcade games, history about the Packers and it's affect on the community, and even just seeing pictures of old businesses and buildings around the streets that we roam every day. Besides exhibits they've organized some neat events like their Cellar and Soda series (you get to learn the history and how to make a kind of beer and soda), Night at the Museum, and even a 90's night. The Neville is one of the best spots to learn about the history and culture of Green Bay and they've been doing great a giving it a more contemporary spin to make younger generations interested in local history.

Yelp
Overall: The museum used to be cool when i was a kid and we would go with school, but the information i've gathered is that the exhibits havent changed in the last 20 years. I could be wrong, but they never changed in all my years attending. If it's your first time they have some really great Native American stuff from the WI region, Traditional Huts you can walk through and they show you the daily life, crafts, and art of the people from the region. Note: The Museum is small Holiday Gallery: I was so excited for the Prange Way windows, My parents kept telling me how exciting it was when they were children, and I was picturing the kind of windows from "A Christmas Story" with the red-rider and a bunch of toys. I was so off. There were 4 windows. That's it! and we had to pay $4 a piece to walk through (though that does include the rest of the museum) The 4 windows depict daily life in semi-moving dolls: School, Decorating the tree, Nursery room. And then there is a "Winter Wonder Land' with snow babies and some dancing and moving animals. If you go at the right times they have a talking Christmas tree, Santa and a child's only shopping store. You send your kids in with a few $ and they get to pick out gifts for friends and family all by themselves. Mom and Dad said it was just like when they were little, which was a cool thing to share around the holidays. Worth 1 visit but maybe not 2.

Yelp
Nice mid-size local museum. I had some time to kill, and spent about an hour here. Good overview of local history and geography, though some displays seem dated. Side galleries had displays about lacrosse, recent history (sponsored by, and oriented around, the local power company,) and video games. A few of the latter were playable; there were the usual common ones, and some I'd never seen. All in all a nice museum, and quite cheap ($4 or so.)

Yelp
So the first thing that was off about this museum was that there is an admission fee of $9 per adult, even though everywhere else I had read about it says it was free. I just checked their website and it is now displaying the pricing, so maybe I should have checked there first. Still disappointing. We went on to tour the museum to find out most of the exhibits look homemade, lackluster and even containing some misinformation (in the disease exhibit under the tab for the small pocks it claimed that this is what majorly wiped out indigenous populations which is false. It was the effects of colonization and the intentional extermination of indigenous peoples by white colonizers who weaponized small pocks as a means for this extermination. Which was more than wrong and the only right is for Land Back Now and monetary reparations.) We then went upstairs to the "HERstory" exhibit. This exhibit was so very hypocritical. The whole thing was based on gender roles, written from a male perspective and verbiage throughout suggesting that progressive efforts and feminism should not be acceptable (e.g. the plaque for birth control reads "birth control gave women the right to decide when to become pregnant" when it should read "birth control gave women the power to choose not to become pregnant" this is an important distinction because women are not existing to have children and a woman's choice of creating children is of if and not when). This exhibit also focused almost entirely on the misogynistic laws and actions of men that have directly oppressed women instead of on celebrating women's wins, inventions and achievements throughout history in order to uplift them. This exhibit only had one small sign about Rosa Parks that attributed the civil rights movement to men and did not speak or picture any other specific BIPOC women. This is not only offensive but it is as if you have missed the whole point of this exhibit. Women of color have been the very back bone of feminism from the very beginning not only Rosa Parks but also women like Sojourner Truth, Maya Angelou, Mary Beatrice Davidson Kenner, Madam C. J. Walker, Coretta Scott King and Alberta Williams King and so many countless other women of Color were blatantly ignored. I'm certain that you would even have been able to find WI BIPOC feminist Icons as well such as Milele Chikasa Anana, Nellie Wilson, and Caroline Quarlls. Lastly, the gift shop's post card of Green Bay pictured a racist image of Native Americans with a colonizer shooting guns at them. This museum perpetuates dangerous narratives and bigotry. Parents, please think carefully about what misinformation your children may take in and what harm these exhibits may cause to them. Education should dispel the hate of white superiority, misogyny, and other oppressive and systematic issues our culture faces, I am in shock that a public institution such as this would so openly share this misinformation as a means to intentionally or unintentionally misguide the youth into their ancestor's hateful ways. Do better.

Yelp
I love going to museums. The Neville is a great short day trip. They offer military discounts which is appreciated. My family and I get annual memberships so I don't use military discount, but it's great for other veterans. I really wish Green Bay would invest and expand to a larger facility with some more displays. Not much has changed since I was a kid. I still enjoy a relaxing stroll through the museum daydreaming of what life was like.

Yelp
Quaint museum that we only visited because of the Packers Hall of Fame being temporarily moved here. $5 admission was reasonable and the Hall of Fame exhibits were neat, but the most educational exhibit was the ice harvest exhibit. Way cool.

Yelp
I'm kind of mixed on the review. I agree with other reviewers that I thought it was cool when I was a kid. I've always wanted to go back, but I finally made it. The main reason we went this time was because of the Prange's display. We were disappointed with the display. Somewhere we had heard that there were 60some displays. There were only that many if you count each doll. It was neat to see, but I don't think it was worth coming for that. The Hmong display was the other temporary part. The rest of the mueseum was the same as it always was. I think that the museum was ok for my 11 and 10 year old, but I think that more could be done. The cost was minimal. I guess I would recommended not going there if its out of your way. It's neat to see if you're in the area. Personally, I won't be rushing back.

Yelp
For the price this is a nice way to spend a couple hours. $7 for adult admission is pretty cheap compared to a lot of larger museums I've been to. They have a decent amount of new exhibits rolling through every few months. The one complaint there might be the lack of interesting ones but that's a matter of opinion. The permanent exhibits seem focused on local or state history both natural and social going back to how the land in the region was formed.

Yelp
I enjoyed visiting the Neville Museum. I managed to learn a great deal of local history starting with the french traders who came through the area. I also learned a lot about the geology and geography of Wisconsin, including events from prehistoric times. It's a good sized museum and very clean and modern. You also have the chance to read about local wildlife. Green Bay has a great nature sanctuary so you might want to stop by here before visiting the sanctuary!

Yelp
I'm a sucker for museums. I will go to the same museum several times just because there's always something I never noticed the previous time through. This is a cute little museum right in the heart of Green Bay. My friend took me when I went up to visit in the summer of 2014, and I wasn't disappointed! As a diehard Packers fan, the huge Packers exhibit they had there was impressive! The great big exhibit about Wisconsin's history from the ice age up to modern day was even more exciting! I might be biased, being a history nerd, but I found myself wanting to just stop and look at everything (a luxury I didn't get because we had arrived so close to closing). The traveling exhibit we saw when we went there was about the history of beer, which was interesting to see as well, though we didn't spend much time in it. She promises me that we'll go back when I visit her this summer, and I'm really looking forward to it!

Yelp
I love this museum!! They have some permanent exhibits and some rotating one, to correct what a previous reviewer stated. The permanent exhibit called "At the Edge of the Inland Sea" about the history of Wisconsin is near and dear to my heart and I can never get enough! It is the same as when I was a child and I hope it never changes, from the roaring mastodon and whooshing passenger pigeons to the wigwam to the ice harvest video, I think it is a beautiful and fascinating exhibit. Right now there is also an exhibit of Prange's Christmas window displays with a talking Christmas tree, and a Peregrine falcon exhibit and one about the Packers. They recently started charging admission but it is still very cheap and well worth a visit if you are interested in Wisconsin history.

Yelp
A wonderful museum presenting the history of northern Wisconsin. Has a wonderful permanent exhibit and several temporary ones. They often bring in traveling exhibits. Cheap entry fee for a wonderful time.

Yelp
A pleasant surprise!!! Went for one display and enjoyed the others much more. Fun, educational, thought provoking, out of the ordinary exhibits.

Yelp
Small home town museum. We went to see the new exhibits that were advertised and being ready on the website, then to find when we get there that they weren't finished. Also thought that if you are going to have two or three workers standing around talking they could at least do it by organizing the kids room. This museum needs a little tlc it could use some new educational stuff for the kids and a little more hands on exhibits for them. I did like the information about the ice cutting and the fire that took out a whole town that was interesting.

Catherine C.

Yelp
The Neville Public Museum is a great place to visit. It has permanent and temporary exhibits by the way. Yes, things do change there. There are events every month that have foreign films being shown, guest lectures, poetry, astronomy meetings, geology meetings, weaving demonstrations, educational lectures, craft classes, artists working in a studio space, and even special dinner lectures. The permanent exhibits are about the history of North East Wisconsin, Native American culture, and even the Green Bay Packers! The temporary exhibits range from art, social issues, regional history, and even science. The temporary exhibits are normally displayed for a month or so. Right now the Anne Frank exhibit is on display and it is a nationally known show. It will only be up until October 23rd. To honor the role of Wisconsin in the Civil War there is a temporary exhibit called, "Badger Boys" which shows alot information about Green Bay soldiers, photographs, guns, maps, president Lincoln, and life during The Civil War. This show lasts longer until November 6th. There are also two more temporary shows: Art Street and a different one about The Port of Green Bay. I think a person should check out their web page, visit the museum, and attend one of it's many events, because then you can make an educated statement about how much this museum offers to the community.

Sara A.

Yelp
Save your money and time! We walked through the museum in 15 minutes. Major disappointment! Won't go back. Best bet is to drive down to Milwaukee!
