A short hop from Matthews, this market’s food court and deli offer roast meats, steamed buns, and Taiwanese bakery items. CLTure calls out the buns and hot foods—great for take-home dim sum cravings.

I really like this New Asia Marker! They have a wide variety of products: lots of fruits, vegetables, chips, sweets, drinks, as well as frozen and ready-made meals. Everything is fresh and reasonably priced. It’s convenient to quickly find everything you need in one place. I recommend it if you want to diversify your diet and try something new!

First visit to this Asian market. There is plenty of parking. The floors need to be cleaned and there is a little bit of a smell in this market. They have a fish market inside, along with a place to eat with seating. I also noticed sweet treats for sale. I would recommend you try for yourself.

Google
While selection of items is not as vast as a couple of other Asian markets in the same area, we found everything for Pinoy cuisine we couldn't find at one of the others. Great fishmongers, too. If you're wanting fresh seafood cleaned and cut to your request, this is THE place to go. You can also get a very tasty meal prepared at the in-market restaurant.

Had a great shopping experience at the New Asia Market. I needed a specifically Chinese market and this place has a lot I was looking for! They have far-beyond your standard chile oil they have so much variety, they probably have that weirdly specific ingredient you are looking for! The fish smelled very fresh and clean I really enjoyed seeing the fish looked great. The food was good too can't wait to go back! Great prices!!!

Google
A fantastic place to go for something new. They offer a wide variety of everything you would get from a regular grocery store but with their own brands they order from overseas. I love going and just picking out new things to try (golden dragon fruit, pineapple saki) and much more those were just some of my favorite. The restaurant inside is excellent as well and the duck is fantastic. Stop by the bakery and get something fresh on the way out as well

I had a truly exceptional experience at the store today thanks to one of the most professional cashiers I’ve ever met—Lot. Without me saying a word, she thoughtfully sorted and packed our groceries: frozen items in one bag, refrigerated items in another, all arranged so neatly that nothing shifted or tipped over. She even put a sticker on the candy my child picked out and handed it back to her with a warm smile—like she could read our minds! It’s rare to come across someone so detail-oriented, considerate, and genuinely caring. Lot made our shopping experience not just smooth, but delightful. Employees like her make all the difference. Thank you, Lot!

Google
We love the lunches here, but today we stopped by just for side dishes for tonight's dinner. What a great idea! The next time, we plan on trying some of the bakery items. They look great!

We stopped by here after shopping at Charlotte Premium Outlets. We bought (4) baked buns, (2) fresh tofu with caramel, & ordered a beef chow fun & combo pan fried noodles. Beef chow fun was excellent, almost perfect. I wish they brown the noodle a bit. Noodle was wide & soft. Beef was tender & bean sprout was crunchy. Pan fried noodle was also great even on the next day. Fresh tofu was yummy, wish they add ginger to the caramel sauce. Buns were large & soft. Grocery prices were very reasonable. Wife bought a few dry goods & fruits.

Yelp
This market is great! Authentic Asian groceries, get all your Asian treats, all the mochi flavors, all the weird chips. Everything! Also has an excellent Asian pastry shop and restaurant inside! It's all very casual but extremely delicious!

Yelp
I love this place. When you need a break from the local chains, and want to take a trip to the other side of the earth in terms of options and languages you hear spoken, this is a clean and well stocked choice. My daughter and I share a bowl of beef noodle soup at the food counter while we work on our chopstick skills and get stared at by the regular customers who look at us like an oddity. They don't have Americanized versions of Asian goods here, which is why I love it. True international shopping experience.

Yelp
Your refrigeration system needs to be professionally sanitized!!!!! Imagine when the water jets spray the produce mold spores, too, hitch onto the food!

Yelp
I found Stallings secret. Stumbled upon this find. It's an Asian market but the food they prepare and serve is remarkably delicious. This is my third time in 4 days which is rare as I typically cook my own meals. I'm a huge fan of Asian cuisine and this place is spot on. It's all to-go and the service is quick. They offer a $10 box that comes with rice and three choices. I typically have gotten the spicy pork belly, duck and steam fish...and you get a choice of soup. For anyone who enjoys Asian cuisine and is budget conscious I def recommend.

Yelp
I have heard great things about this restaurant for several years now, but this is the first time we tried it. It is located just inside the Asian grocery store, and our food was made up fresh. Really amazing and high-quality food, some of the best Chinese food I've had in this area. We went with House Lo Mein, sweet-and-sour chicken, and beef and broccoli. These latitude dishes also came with rice. Very large, we could've actually shared. If you have a special that is a small portion and comes with some other sides. Next time I may go for that. Outstanding quality, moderate price, but well worth it. We will definitely come back again!

Yelp
I love this market! The ambiance reminds me of markets I've walked while overseas. Authentic products, fresh meat, fish, frog legs, turtles, and delicious baked goods. The kitchen is amazing and the value seriously cannot be beaten. The staff is friendly and always happy to help. Take your next Asian cuisine and kick it up a notch with tried and true products and some freshly steamed pork buns on your way out!

Yelp
Use CASH! I truly believe that they had one of those scammer debit machine. My card declined 2xs and I have MONEY in my account. I checked my bank account later that evening to contact the bank to see why my card declined and it stated on my statement "ATM rejected cash." That was the only place I used my card at on that particular day. It's being investigated.

Yelp
Absolutely love this store!!! Wonder prices and selection on foods. We will frequently go here

Yelp
Helpful staff, good selection. I went looking for Indian flat bread and didn't find what I wanted, but they did have a wide variety of foods.

Yelp
This place is bonkers. Aisles and aisles of Asian foods, all well stocked and all decently priced. Sauces, noodles, rices, a massive fresh produce section with fruits and, vegetables I've never seen before, freezers with fresh and ready to heat foods, ingredients for all sorts of interesting meals. The market is the size of a Publix or Winn-Dixie and has shopping carts and registers and specials and such. There is also a huge deli counter with prepared and hot foods you can take with you or just eat them here. I'm quite impressed and found some bok choi and a bottle of low sodium soy sauce that will be part of dinner one night this week! Yelp
It is an overall great place that I recommend to anyone wanting to try something new their prices are low and the staff is amazing

Yelp
This is another market that my parents took me to after living in NC for the past few years. Similar to Super G, it offers a variety of ingredients, items, and cuisines from various Asian countries. They do have less in terms of household goods and kitchen items, but they have an impressive offering in terms of fresh seafood available. Aisles are fairly easy to navigate and I think they're a bit wider than Super G's, which can become very crowded quickly. Parking hasn't been too bad since I've gone here, but it does share the plaza with some other businesses including a smaller Italian food mart and deli. Prices on items were in line with the same items I've looked at in Super G Mart. Maybe a slight difference in cents, but not too significant.

Yelp
First it was Grand Asia Market and now it's New Asia Market. I'm not sure what happened or why they changed names all I know is I can't leave there without putting a dent in my bank account. I seem to day dream dishes I want to make as I walk the aisles and look at all the items on the racks. They had tons of fresh fruits and veggies. Most things are label but sometimes I find an item I have no idea what it is. The meat and seafood area also has tons of choices. I normally get the hot pot meat and the pork belly from there. There isn't an odor to this area either. I love the bakery and food court area. The bbq pork and the coconut bun are my favorites. Make sure you have cash for those areas if you are making a smaller purchase. I believe there is a $10 minimum for a card. Overall this is one of my favorite Asian markets. I seem to always find what I need for a dish here. The staff is friendly enough and the store is always clean. An older gentleman wearing an apron did come out of the restroom the last time I was there and went back to work so I have to deduct a star for that. Yelp
I'm so passionate about this place where do I begin, I've been coming here since I was a child and now I bring my child here almost every Saturday to shop and for a sweet treat, I've introduced countless people to this place , not only does it have a great variety but the bakery and restaurant inside is so good, always fresh, I've never had a stale bread for as long as I've been coming here. Great produce prices too. One of my favorite places on earth !

Yelp
Love going to this site. The produce is amazing. The store is huge, and I always find something exciting! Get lunch at the front. They'll make it fresh for you - generous portions!

Yelp
Fresh international and Asian products. Great selections. I especially love the freshly prepared cooked food and steamed buns.

Yelp
This market is the real deal. I want to say it was a surprise to find "in these parts" but it's actually not far off the beaten path that is US 74/Independence. It's big, although not as big as a few other Asian markets in Charlotte. However they manage to cram just as much cozily in here and that's why I think it's my new favorite for general Asian food needs. They have mostly East Asian brands from China, Japan and Korea as far as I could tell. Lots of fresh fruit and veggies with a focus on what you can get more readily in Asia and can't find so easily in places like Harris Teeter or Food Lion. One whole row dedicated to noodles of all kinds. Freezer and refrigerator sections. One of the gems here is the massive selection of fresh fish. They will even prep and/or cook it for you at a small price. Considering the variety, I was impressed with the pricing. And lemme tell you, they really do have a lot of different fish in here. There is, of course, a section for rice with bags up to 50 lbs although they only have one or two Japanese brands and not my preferred ones. At the front is a restaurant, fresh buns with a variety of fillings and lots of baked breads, roll cakes and sweets to choose from. Staff didn't interact with me much but seemed nice from afar. Prices weren't horrible for fresh foods but for packaged sweets, in particular the Japanese ones, they were a bit high. I guess importing is getting more and more expensive these days.

Yelp
Sometimes I get fish from the store. They have always fresh and delicious fish and seafood. I don't like seafood. I only get fish from there. only bad thing is smell. When you go inside, the store smells horrible after a few minutes, you get used to. But still when I enter the store, I feel there are some sanitizing issue because of the smell.

Yelp
This market has really gone down since these owners purchased it a couple of years ago. Their inventory in terms of quantity, quality & variety has really fallen. Their prices, pre-pandemic, increased 25-50%. I use to make the 30 minute drive on weekends to purchase some of their bakery & dim sum items. It's no longer worth the drive. Their pre made entrees in their 'restaurant' has remained the same which is a plus!

Kimberly K.

Yelp
Good food. Large variety of different Asian products. Good variety of fresh seafood and crabs. They will steam your seafood for an extra cost
google avatar

Ginger J.

Yelp
The quality of the food is SO BAD now, the new chef seems not care about these food at alll. I have been a loyal customer for over 5 year, this year's food is THE WORST. The box meal food taste all the same, the sesame chicken has SO MUCH sauce (which it shouldn't), the chow fon is so WATERY too I really hope there's an improvement on the cooking, it's sad to see my favorite store turning out this now.
google avatar

Hwal L.

Yelp
This shop's only real draw for us really is the bakery near the entrance. Half of the shelves were still empty as the staff kept bringing goodies out, most of them still warm and steamy against the clear plastic sleeves that come in. The coconut bun, as with most things they have, was big enough to feed both of us, and a great value = me happy. But the other item we bought, which I can't remember the name of because it was so unimpressive, was a letdown.

Yelp
Well-stocked with a variety of Asian groceries, a bakery and a cafe. Efficient service, too. Fresh seafood!
google avatar

Yelp
Really great variety of Asian groceries and products , only complaint is the $5 minimum if you are paying with a card. Other than that, the employees are are very fast in service and their bao buns are delicious and affordable!! Love coming here , would definitely recommend
google avatar

Yelp
The best beef chow fun I've ever had. Moreover, lots of Asian groceries to chose from as "American" supermarkets won't carry authentic items. Try the Peking Duck (order in advance!) Awesome.
google avatar

Tae W.

Yelp
hello so I usually I visit this store to buy groceries and let me say I always have a good experience especially with the checkout ladies. BUT this time I got curious enough to purchase food from the hot food section near the front of the store. I purchased roasted duck and steamed rice which also came with steamed bokchoy. I devoured the duck , rice and a little of the bokchoy but as I got to the end of the platter I discovered a caterpillar or what looks like a bug on my spoon. I literally gagged and threw up thinking whether or not I ate many other bugs while eating this dish . I will never eat hot food from them again . Yuck .
google avatar

Loni S.

Yelp
The place has a restaurant inside I want to try, the produce isn't the biggest but has a lot more than a normal grocery store. Lots of sauces, spices and noodles to make Asian dishes. The fridges have fresh eggs of all types plus tofu, kimchi, noodles and veggies. The freezers have lots of dumplings, fish cakes, meats, pancakes and other tasty Asian foods. The meat and seafood tho is huge. Tons of different fish, shellfish and even snails. There's a butcher too for fresh beef and chicken then even have a lot of the organs that are hard to find. Will be here a lot more often for shabu/hotpot ingredients.
google avatar

Yelp
So if you need any type of Soy Sauce, Chili Sauce. Chinese Veggie or Noodle. you need to come to this huge old Market off Potters Rd in Stallings, They could use a new manager and turn it into a gorgeous store but it is pretty interesting to go up and down the aisle and try and find all the different and exciting items they have. They even have a bakery and small cafe in the front of the store. Sake and Japanese and Chinese Beer also. Fresh meat and seafood in the rear - remember this is not Harris Teeter and when you have a Frog jump out of the tank at you -- it's just tonight's dinner !
google avatar

Yelp
New Aisa Marker is my favorite Asian market. It is a little out of the way for me as I live more central Charlotte but have a feeling I will be taking a monthly trip to stock up. The store seems to have most of what you would need from an asian market. Nice variety of asian from Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Filipino and more. I must admit that upon my first visit I found it a little overwhelming. They have live fish, plenty of snacks, teas, noodles and much much more. Want to come back for the produce- such reasonable prices that you cannot find at the local supermarket. My favorite isle may just be the beer and sake. They have my new favorite sake at great price point and even have soju. We also got plenty of sauces. One added benifit of shopping this store is you will get hungry after shopping around for all the goodies so make sure you grab some hot food and bubble tea. They even have dim sum that you can grab a table and eat right there.

Yelp
I'M BACK. I try to come here when I need Asian ingredients for cooking, it's just very out of the way. Doesn't matter. While they have a very different selection than stores like Super G, they have more live seafood and hard-to-find meats. Their live seafood section has everything from fresh fishes to eel, turtle, frog, and lobster, but their fruits have been lacking recently. I drove all over Charlotte trying to find fresh lychees, and they have them, but many of the packages had fuzzy mold growing on them :( Kind of gross, so I didn't buy them, but they are probably very hard to find out of season, even for wholesale purchase by a store. The café is unbeatable. They certainly give you your money's worth of food, and it's VERY affordable. The menu is small, only 11 or 12 items, but they have lots of side dishes and dumplings. The service is great and the quality is just...UGH it's so good. I get the same thing every time I come- #1 on the menu, barbeque pork with duck. Tender, juicy, flavorful, and a ton of food. Nothing has changed. That's the way it should be. I stopped by the bakery this time and got a lychee smoothie, which is the best one I've ever had. I couldn't believe how fresh it tasted- I think it had fresh ones blended into it. 5 stars despite the moldy lychees because the cafe and bakery food is so good. Will be back as soon as I can. I crave it every day.

Yelp
Came here from California so we could make some vietnamese home cooking for family, Grand Asia offered everything we needed. Produce, fish and meat was all good quality. However we were a bit dismayed the butcher would not break down the pork belly from the giant slab available behind the counter. Prices were great as with the asian markets in Cali. Staff was an interesting mix and mostly helpful and friendly. They had some korean, filipino, vietnamese, and chinese snacks and ingredients. We were able to purchase the brand names we prefer: pearl river oyster sauce, three crabs fish sauce and coco rico soda, along with thick style soy sauce, quail eggs, baby bok choy, wood ear mushrooms and peeled garlic cloves. Great option for cooking asian dishes in Charlotte, NC. We also tried they bao at the deli section which had a good selection of chinese pastries and cakes. Filling was not good but the bread was warm and fresh.

Yelp
- produce: generally pretty cheap, and there are asian items that may be hard to locate elsewhere such as lychee, oyster mushrooms, jujubes, jackfruit, durian, mangosteen, and dragonfruit. These things are more expensive; the people checking out in front of me wanted to buy a durian, but it was $8/lb and the thing cost $50. They ultimately decided against it. - other items we come here for are: rice, tofu, kimchi, asian condiments like vinegar, soy sauce, sesame oil, lao gan ma, etc. - seafood: I avoid this section bc it smells fishy. idk if I'd recommend their seafood honestly - tons of asian snacks and candy - baked goods: generally pretty good; I love their pineapple buns. They make custom cakes. - Never tried their boba but they have it. - cafeteria food: love their eggplant dish. buns are decent. roast duck is also good.
google avatar

Michelle S.

Yelp
I traveled 15 miles to this store and it was worth it. It has a decent supply of asian food heavier on the chinese side but over all one of the best if not the best in the Charlotte area. The produce prices are amazing. They have a huge assortment of fresh seafood. Not only do they have groceries but we had lunch there was well. Wish it was closer but definitely worth the trip

Yelp
Been looking for another asian market that won't kill my car getting into the parking lot.. I have a Mini and asian corner is the heaven that all potholes go to Rest In Peace. This place used to be called Grand Asia. Guess New Asia fit better.. so here's my view Overall layout: 4/5 it can be confusing like most grocery stores when you're new that but it's organize once you get the hang of it. And aisle are easy to navigate thru. It's wide and clean Staffs: 3/5 they are busy. Seem to be overwhelming on Sunday.. and most doesn't speak English. Overall: 4/5 they have a lot to offers. There staffs by the seafood area to prepare it the way you wanted it. Bakery is awesome: can't wait to place an order for a cake And lastly, their cafeteria was slow but awesome. A varied of food that they cooked right then and there so you know it's fresh.

Yelp
Love this Asian Supermarket even it's so far away from my place. They have everything about Asian food. Live fishes and seafood, vegetables and grocery stuff you name it. There's also a deli cooked food with bakery. Prices are quite reasonable and acceptable as well. I just have to stock up to save my trip.
google avatar

Yelp
New Asia Market used to be called Grand Asian Market. My partner took me here to show me where they had their first Chinese food experience. It's a pan Asian supermarket / grocery store with a bakery and a buffet style counter. The supermarket here is something I appreciate to see, but their selection isn't as good as what I'm used to in Chicago. I wasn't able to find some snacks that I liked, but it's as good as it gets in the suburbs of Charlotte. I had very low expectations, so I wouldn't be disappointed and was able to be blown away by what they did have. I was happy to see some of my favorite Chinese pastries being sold at their bakery counter -- hot dog bun, sponge cake, and bbq pork buns. We decided to get those 3 items for our road trip tomorrow back to Chicago. Though we didn't get anything from the buffet style counter -- they did serve American style Chinese food with a spin on some of the traditional dishes. I was going to try their box meals, but I decided against it when they were out of bbq pork. I think it's also because they were about to close soon, and it's the type of bbq that is limited quantities and it's something that you'd have to go early for. I'd recommend this location to anyone in the area looking for a taste of home and having access to more pan Asian groceries that's harder to find at the local grocery store's international section or aisle.

Yelp
Very cool place. Live fish to be caught and cooked on the spot. Very unusual items and foods to keep you. Busy for a while. They also have fresh dim sum if you want to take some home.
google avatar

Angel P.

Yelp
It's nice to have a closer Asian market from my house and not having to drive all the way to G Mart or another place in Charlotte for ingredients. For the most part this market has most of the sauces and items you will need for recipes. However, some of the items are higher priced here then another Asian markets I have been to in Charlotte. Also, food court is a hit and miss.
google avatar

Michelle M.

Yelp
Love this place! They have a cafe, bakery, restaurant, and grocery all in 1 place. I can't read any of the labels but who cares! :) Great prices on produce, you'll see things you'd never find anywhere else in Charlotte.
google avatar

Michael B.

Yelp
Awesome Asian Market with live fish and multiple types of 50# bags of rice! We ventured here for exotic fruit - dragon fruit, and "eye-ball" things I can never remember the name of - if you want to add a little adventure to your meal - stop here. I never tried it, but the made to order food is supposed to be the real deal! Don't be scared to visit if you're not Asian - it's a great place!
google avatar

Lori L.

Yelp
Great market. I come here about once every few months. They have a good selection of produce for pretty cheap. The kimchi here is good. I usually buy tofu and they have a good selection of brands as well as their udon noodles. I also get jasmine rice here but they have a large assortment of other rices as well as brands. They do also have a restaurant/bakery inside. I've never tried it but it always seems steady.
google avatar

Yelp
Be aware of the scanned prices could be different from sticker prices, you might end up paying more than you thought. Check the receipts before leaving is highly recommended.

Yelp
today, March 30, 2022 Very bad costumer services. The food is good, why can they training their staff for costumer services? today, I went to buy flowers pot, I called for help, but the clerk or any one of them are not eager for helping. They came and walked away likes it none of their business. another's time, at the check counter, they allowed people cut in front of me too! They are rule people there... I am disappointed for theirs costumer services.

Winston B.

Yelp
This place is awesome. Live fish and lobster and all the fresh seafood selections that you can choose from at a very affordable price. I love all of the many interesting and exotic foods that you can't find in most places in the Charlotte area.
google avatar

Jenny L.

Yelp
Just found out this is a great place for gluten-free flours. Yesterday I bought buckwheat flour, millet flour, oat flour and potato starch. Of course they also carry rice flour. They also have corn flour, tapioca starch and whole grain sorghum.
google avatar

Yelp
It's not market it's SUPER Market. Good size store they got small food corner. All three food restaurants were good. Price was very reasonable.
google avatar

Yelp
I order spring rolls and shrimp with lobster sauce, there was only 5 shrimps salad style. rice was old, spring rolls were cold and mushy. Please don't buy any food from these people. They were upset when I called to tell them I was not happy still they did nothing to resolve the matter. I will not be returning to this place. At your own risk
google avatar

Yelp
Grand Asia, New Asia...whatever you want to call yourselves, you're a great Asian market in town! Travel down Independence Blvd and drive a couple miles down the road and you will find this place. It's a nice size market where my fiancé claims is "the only place in town that sells Funaguchi at a decent price". I don't know much about sake but they have quite the selection! Aside from the sake, this is the place to go where they sell every Asian snack and treat under the sun! Additionally, they have their fresh fish on ice so it no longer smells like a dead seafood market. Also, if you're looking for a cheap, massive bag of rice, you go here. Don't skip their bakery or their fresh food for purchase in the front! I'm not going to get my wedding cake from the New Asia Market, but it's good to know they make them and the option is available at a good price. Just saying.

Yelp
Grand Asia market has a multitude of goodies! We tried the hot dumplings and they were large and yummy. I had two and probably should have shared them (pork and something else that I could not identify but it was delicious). They are the large 3 inch diameter size and have a variety of fillings. These are not the tiny soup dumplings. The dough has a sweet taste and the meat was savory. They also have a hot menu that changes daily, but we were focused on dumplings. We also sampled the bakery--a sweet cream bun that was so sweet I could not finish it. It is an actual supermarket of Asian goods so try something new--I tried Japanese Yams, very sweet and delicious. Also, they have lots of seafood, which we did not buy but looked very fresh. I'd like to come back and try more dumplings!!
