My sister got me a ticket to go see Moulin Rouge. It's was so nostalgic watching the old preview. I really enjoyed it. The movie was great even though I've seen it hundreds of times. I liked that at the beginning of the movie the host told everyone no talking and absolutely no phones. People respected and it was great. I got popcorn with a lot of butter they don't hold back it's an awe movie theater I highly recommend it. The restroom is nice and clean. The offer water they have cups for you to serve yourself. I took my own water cup and they let me in with it. Pretty awesome place. I loved it! Parking I didn't see any but I also didn't look for it because I found a parking in the street. Look at the signs if you do park in the street, you don't want to get a ticket or your car towed.

Google
Outstanding and well run operation.. recently I went to see the latest Mission Impossible at a standard chain movie theater and had the whole place to myself, which is nice but sad. Tarantino's theater was sold out and had all the old school vibes from the glory days of film. Very generous prices for snacks and drinks, too. I feel that Tarantino's New Beverly Cinema model could be done all over the country. Anyway, consider this a must do experience to put on your to do list.

I love the New Bev! Top notch vintage film programming, excellent refreshments, cool staff. If you love classic film, it’s a must. I highly recommend. Happy Trails!

Movies on film! This was the best way to see Inglorious Basterds in a theater, and if you’re lucky there’s a raffle based on ticket numbers for neat souvenirs.

Google
Truly a unique experience. I really got what he’s trying to do here. I absolutely do not understand the people complaining about the strict no phone policy. I can’t tell you the last time I wasn’t disrupted to some degree by people chatting and whipping out their phones. I think it’s cool to put down your phone for a couple hours and be immersed in something rare like this. Obviously, you can just go to the lobby if there’s something pressing. Anyway, love the authentically retro vibe. Doesn’t seem forced, just seems like a theater from the 70s that is really clean & inviting and nobody bothered to update it. So cool. The concessions are insanely well priced as far as theaters go. I love that they’re not gouging on the concessions and I get that “normal” theaters have to in order to make ends meet, but this felt like a big relief. I’m looking forward to going back. I can tell if I lived nearby I’d be there all the time. Such a rare thing this day and age and I’m very grateful someone is keeping the 35mm films alive.

Google
Great local spot and really fun place to see movies on film! Love the no cell phone policy and how passionate the vibe is, plus the concession prices are fair and friendly. Only drawback is the flat layout. You don't realize what a blessing stadium seating is until you go back in time and have some blockhead in your field of vision for an entire film. Do NOT see subtitled movie here unless you're 6'3" or above.

Google
Very cute theater. Plenty of legroom. My matinee ticket was cheap. The bathroom is very crammed, but it’s really cool that it plays the audio from the auditorium. If you drive here, there’s only street parking. The surrounding neighborhood was nice, so I didn’t mind the extra walk to the theater.

Google
A truly communal and rare cinema experience in LA. I've been coming to NBC since the early 80s. Thanks to Quentin Tarentino we aren't lamenting its passing, like so many other LA landmarks, we are celebrating it's success! If you love movies, this is mecca.

Yelp
Came for a friend's premier of the movie "The Dead Things" and had a superb time! Obviously this theater is an LA staple, but this was my first time here! I loved the previews from old school films. They took us to a different time and it was refreshing to watch the animated short film ahead of the feature as well! Having classic previews lead up to the very dark, modern feature presentation took me on a time capsule through eras of filmmaking, and being among others who obviously shared a love for the craft was as refreshing as the films! The Dead Things was intriguing on many levels, with real modern tropes tapping into the supernatural world. There's enough open context in the end for you to craft your own ideas of what happened with the protagonist, but enough story for you to feel you're not lost. Haha. Clean bathrooms. Lovely staff. Beautiful entrance. And dope attendees (I left my keys in the boathroom and nobody stole them. Yay humanity) Will return

Yelp
----- Thumbs-Up ----- The renovation they did is terrific. The bathrooms aren't any bigger (that would have been a hard trick to pull off), but they're clean, modern, and have toilet stall doors that swing open/closed in the correct direction. ----- Thumbs-Down ----- The HVAC system turns on & off periodically, and you can hear it in the theater during the movie. They still employ celluloid-only technology, thanks to Mr. T's fetish for that format. Expect some prints to feature washed-out colors, scratches galore, and hairs-in-the-gate. The things some people romanticize!

Yelp
solid films on rotation, not much of a film snob but apparently 35mm film gets these guys riled up... therefore it has to be good right? Decent snack collection and staff are cool peeps! Definitely would recommend taking ur date or homies here!! (Monthly posters make gr8 room deco btw).

Yelp
I feel like this was a bucket list place to visit and I'm so glad we got the chance to last night. My friend and I headed over to see a screening of Nosferatu after a movie premiere we were supposed to go to got canceled. This was an amazing alternative! The movie theatre is very cute and the staff is super friendly. Also, the ticket prices are great -- I think I paid $13 for a ticket, which seems very reasonable considering how much of a great experience it is, that it's Tarantino's theatre, and that they only show film movies there. The quality of the film movie was fantastic. I really appreciate the art in showing only film movies. They also played a 15 minute Looney Toons cartoon and old film trailers before the movie started which really set the tone. The last thing that put this theatre in the god-tier zone was their announcement against phones in the beginning. Wow, I wish every theatre did this! As you all probably know, it's actually hell seeing a movie these days. Everyone is so disrespectful on their phones, talking, etc. The staff took the time before the screening to say that they have a very strict no-phone policy and that you will be banned if it comes out. Also, no talking until after the movie. What I especially loved about this announcement, was how they emphasized that it's an insult to art to distract from the movie in these ways which is SO true. It was a great experience and I hope to come back next time I'm in Hollywood.

Yelp
Every true cinephile in Los Angeles must see a film at New Beverly at least once. Owned by the fiercest of movie lovers, it's a classic, modest space truly celebrating the joy of cinema. My first film there was "Once Upon A Time...In Hollywood", a perfect experience. I was also there for the William Smith tribute double feature in November 2021. I wasn't sure how often QT actually shows up to introduce films - or if he ever does - but I felt there was a strong chance of him appearing at the William Smith double bill to shout the title of one of the films as many times as he could get away with it. The merch and movie snacks available at the cinema are delightful. At one of the screenings I attended, they offered Dr. Enuf - I haven't had a Dr. Enuf since I was in my hometown in Tennessee! Though parking in the area is tricky (and sometimes dangerous at night), there are plenty of good spots nearby for a pre- or post-show dinner: Bludso's BBQ on La Brea, and El Coyote right down the street from the cinema. Follow them on Instagram to be updated nearly daily of their upcoming screenings. Even if you've seen a favourite film a hundred times, it's a special experience to see it at New Beverly.

Yelp
Best of LA. Solid, interesting, thematic curating. Consistently fun. The best cheap date in town. Even the popcorn is vintage. Thank you for your service.
google avatar

Ralph Z.

Yelp
The best movie theater in LA, hands down. Nicest staff. Everything there is in the spirit of fun at the movies. The only thing I would want to change is the parking because it can be tricky. Otherwise I recommend everyone to go watch a real FILM projected at New Beverly at least once.

Yelp
This is a great, nostalgic theater for the self- proclaimed movie buff! If you are expecting this place to be a commercial, high tech theater then this place is not be for you. What you can expect at the New Beverly Cinema are movies played on its original 35 mm film projected on a teeny tiny screen. With that being said, try to get a seat up close! My date and I made the mistake of grabbing seats closer to the back to avoid neck strain, but we were quick to regret our choices. The seats are not set up on much of an adequate incline so half the screen was obstructed by the guy's head in front of me. It was my first time seeing "My Bloody Valentine" so it kind of killed it for me. No pun intended. The seats are pretty close together and cushions have lost its firmness from decades of butts. The people you'll meet at the New Beverly are all friendly and share a common bond- the love of great cinema. I think the average patron goes for the experience and not the "high quality". You may expect a long wait at the concession stand since it is very small. The line extended all the way into the theater. We went to a midnight screening and parking was easy to find on the residential street. I didn't use the restrooms, but my date did and he said they had recently upgraded! I'll take that as a good sign. Many great photo opportunities here, if you're into that thing!

Yelp
Haters gonna hate, ainters gonna aint. In this time of corporate greed and commercialization of every creative impulse this place shines with virtue and is a wholesome reminder of how the movies became a big deal in the first place. Not the best technology or the biggest names (well maybe occasionally) but pure unadulterated storytelling. I once had the good fortune to attend a Friday matinee showing of my favorite movie which happens to be very slightly-underappreciated or not mainstream popular and a bit dark, delicious--The Talented Mr. Ripley. And it was sold out. At 2 pm. On a weekday. I've watched other at home more than a hundred times but to watch it in a room full of others and find humor in unexpected places, gasps from first timers which reminded me of when I first realized where the beautiful story had started taking us, crammed into bare minimum quality seating which was just suitable enough for me to forget about myself for a couple hours and to be enveloped by the beauty of sundrenched coastal Italian landscapes before the darkness of human depravity stole the show... is something more precious than money can buy. I am grateful this humble monument to film is in my neighborhood and I am grateful for their delicious real butter topped popcorn.

Yelp
Seeing Tarantino's Death Proof here had such vibe and even the vintage previews were curated specifically for the movie. They give a fun introduction and play movies loud!

Yelp
Such a remarkably unique cinema experience! First and foremost, the staff was great. The film selection is vast and stunning. I love the concept of film-only pictures being shown. It's genuinely amazing, and I appreciate it as a cinema/movie fanatic. My favorite aspect is the traditional ticket stub you receive upon purchasing your ticket! Such a great atmosphere all throughout. It's worth it!!

Alex N.

Yelp
This is a must-visit if you're a fan of film history. The programming is curated very well. This includes the previews, which are usually selected to match the theme, director, or time period of the feature attraction, and only rarely to advertise upcoming screenings. Staff is friendly and attentive, tickets and concessions are reasonably priced, and the merch is imaginative. All movies are projected from film prints, instead of digitally. Some (but by no means all) of the older prints show signs of age, which I think is charming.

Yelp
I have mixed feelings about New Beverly, I have been here on and off during the years because it might be one of the last few theaters in town that show movies on 35 mm (before and after Tarantino bought it). Parking - get there early to hunt a spot on the street. Ticket prices- OK. The selection for double features and guests used to be better. It used to be more laid back, over time it turn more hipster-ish, a cool place to be seen. The seating is not the best, after a double feature you are in need of a yoga class LOL. Decent option overall for older movies and cinephiles in LA!

Yelp
So much fun, I'll be there at least once a week. Anyone want to join me.... Two of my favorite love stories playing on the big screen in the movie house of old, 'Bonnie and Clyde' and 'True Romance'. These 2 movies, I have watched over and over starting from the TV set, to VHS to DVD. What a treat to go back in time and sit in a movie house that would have been the location to see them when they were first released. I loved how the movie usher man came down and gave us an introduction to the movies we were about to see, interacted with the audience and then proceeded to give us the best rules of our lives...no cell phones, no talking. Perfect. Jeff was so kind as to send me next door for a tasty burger, the Swiss cheeseburger. Thank you Jeff, yes it was quite tasty.

Yelp
I just wish they sold booze. I get it, blah blah blah cinema experience. This place would be perfect otherwise.

Yelp
Going to the movies is not something I normally do when traveling, but my brother had expressed interest in seeing a film at the New Beverly while we were in LA. Being someone who loves movies and seeks out art houses and venues that elevate the viewing experience, I did a little research and immediately got excited to see a film here. New Beverly is one of the oldest movie houses in LA. Comprising of a single screen, it shows a variety of vintage films and specials. Since 2007, the Beverly has been owned by Quentin Tarantino, and I heard he has a heavy hand in the programming. The Beverly's motto is "always on film", meaning that they do not show any films digitally - it's all the real deal. Their schedule is posted a few weeks in advance, and we were able to catch a showing of Sergio Leone's spaghetti western The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. I would definitely recommend purchasing tickets in advance - we got there about 45 minutes before showtime and were greeted by a line, so there's a risk of the show being sold out if you don't get advance tickets. Seating is on a first come, first served basis, and they have a concession stand that has an excellent variety of snacks. Additionally, they have a selection of Beverly merch for purchase. There is no dedicated parking, but we had luck finding a spot on a block adjacent to the theater. The staff was great, everything from check in to concessions was seamless. Overall, I had an excellent experience at the Beverly; I felt very much at home here - this is the kind of moviegoing I gravitate towards and I would definitely look into their showings the next time I'm in LA.

Yelp
To sit in a theater that dates back to the 1920's and is owned by none other than Quentin Tarantino, one of cinema's best to ever do it...and have films shown on 35 mm *insert mind blown emoji here.* In an era where watching a movie is just a click away on television, I appreciated the nostalgic feel. It definitely felt more than just going to the theater. It felt like an experience, especially considering we decided to do a midnight screening of True Romance, from Tarantino's personal collection. *insert another mind blown emoji here.* Seating is first come first serve. We purchased our tickets in advance and arrived about 20 mins before which allowed plenty of time to find free street parking, grab our delicious popcorn, hotdog, and m&m's. Also, when I say delicious I mean like wow, DELICIOUS. Not sure if it was the butter or the fact that the concessions felt so reasonably priced, but it was so incredible that I had sweet dreams of the popcorn for days to come. *insert drooling emoji here.* I enjoyed that the previews played before the movie are classic film previews that relate with the current movie you are about to watch. These are also previews that for me, I was too young to ever experience and films that I now look forward to watching here. Also rather than having a typical AMC preview that talks about turning off your phone, it was an actual employee who went to the front, engaged the audience, asked who was a newbie, and told people of the no cellphone policy. They even did a cool raffle with the ticket stubs and gave prizes such as sunglasses and a skateboard. Talk about customer appreciation! I haven't been to the movie theaters in what feels to be at least 2 years, but this place, wow. It's a place all movie lovers should experience. I absolutely loved the retro feel and the small intimate setting. You are surrounded by people alike who love movies and want to step back to see a classic. We are definitely going to make it a point to go back and bring our friends to experience this. A double feature is in my future. Tip: Follow their IG page to get their monthly movie showings and check when they get post screening discussions.
google avatar

Samuel S.

Yelp
We went here for a double feature film and the memories came flooding to my brain of a simpler time of watching good movies with good people people the atmosphere was positive and people were there to actually watch a movie, the popcorn was good and the selection of candy was robust, I look forward to coming here again with friends and family hopefully soon!

Yelp
I went to New Beverly Cinema last night to attend the screening of American Badass: A Michael Madsen Retrospective, as well as to see actor Michael Madsen in-person. I enjoyed both the documentary and the post-screening conversation with Michael Madson, director Dominique Milano, and the moderator. Michael Madsen and Dominique Milano were kind enough to chat with fans, sign autographs, and take photos throughout the night. I had a great time and hope to have more similar experiences while at the theater in the future. I really like the programming at the New Beverly Cinema. It's a great neighborhood theater. It's a plus to see special guests at some of their screenings. There is a great sense of community at the theater.

Gerald R.

Yelp
Been going here for over 10 years now, and I drive all the way down from Burbank. It's the only true indie theatre with a homey feel that caters to film buffs in LA. Excellent popcorn. Friendly staff. And strict no phone usage policy. Of course, not everything is always peachy. Seating can be pretty snug at times with moviegoers sitting elbow to elbow. Also, if You do not buy tickets in advance you stand the chance of not even getting into the theatre if the movie is really popular, as the theatre is fairly small. However in the end, this all adds to its charm.
google avatar

Ingrid M.

Yelp
What a gift to movie lovers. Such a great experience. A fun, curated selection of movies. Even fun trailers and promos. Delicious & reasonable concessions. Family matinees on weekends with free popcorn for kids. Always love coming here. Great vibes and atmosphere. It's one of the places that makes our city of Los Angeles special.

Yelp
Always a great experience at the New Beverly! Great place to see rare flicks! Staff is always kind! I loved that I got the chance to see "Looking for Mr.Goodbar".

Yelp
Cool revival theater owned by Quentin Tarantino. They frequently show his films as well as a lot of other content (mostly older/classic films). We actually saw a new release here (Licorice Pizza) but I think that's pretty rare. Follow them on social media for the latest updates and upcoming calendar. TIPS: ~Buy tickets in advance online. ~Arrive early to get in line. There's no assigned seating so it helps to be early. ~Buy your snacks/drinks early because the line gets really long closer to showtime. ~Make sure you read their current vaccination policy. They are checking vaccine cards at the door. Not sure if they will accept a test, you'll have to check. + The concession stand was awesome. Very affordable plus great options. They have hot dogs (regular and vegan) plus White Castle burgers! I used to devour White Castle growing up in New Jersey so it's very nostalgic for me. They also have a bunch of specialty sodas, Topo-Chico mineral water, and tea/coffee. No beer, sorry. + The staff were all so friendly. My boyfriend took forever to find to find his vaccine card and they were really cool and patient about it. - It was FREEZING in the theater. They could have pumped some heat in there to ensure the audience was comfortable. - No parking lot. I read that some people struggled with parking so we splurged on an Uber to avoid the anxiety. I can't personally attest to the parking difficulties but if you search the reviews, there are notes from the manager offering parking tips.
google avatar

Ruthie S.

Yelp
Always a great movie selection, friendly staff, yummy goodies to eat while enjoying the retro movies and the theater is clean! The only caveat is the seat are a bit on the small side. The seats need to be at least 3 to 4 inches wider is all.
google avatar

Maruko X.

Yelp
The cinema is a historic movie theater located in a building that dates back to the 1920s, which is one of the oldest revival houses in the region. It is owned by the filmmaker Quentin Tarantino, and has become a bastion for 35mm films.

Bren L.

Yelp
Mixed feelings here. 1. Last old time cinema in the area. 2. Interesting mix of older films 3. Bad parking situation 4. Online ticket seats end too early. 5. No clarity on available tickets . I.e do I really want to wait for crap seats? Fixes 1. Make deal with strip mall across the street for nighttime parking
google avatar

Jacob F.

Yelp
Great theatre for those who enjoy movies on film. Concessions are good and the programing has something to offer for pretty much anyone who likes movies. Offers a much better experience than any of the big chains.
google avatar

Nick F.

Yelp
A truly wonderful place to enjoy being a cinephile. This is Quentin Tarantino's revival theatre and you can feel the love of film in all the little details. If you're a fan of his work, you absolutely have to come here at least once. The lobby is a tad cramped, but they make good use of the space and there's little Easter eggs of QT references sprinkled throughout. Make sure to get a tasty beverage and some popcorn because it's delicious. And how do you even watch a movie without popcorn? Not sure it's possible. There was an intro by the program director that was filled with cool trivia about the film (Once Upon a Time...in Hollywood) and a strict reminder of no talking or texting-every theatre should do this!! I love this theatre-going experience and look forward to going again many more times.

K D.

Yelp
My absolute favorite movie theater in Los Angeles. "We love showing movies" is their motto (a variation of something Quentin Tarantino says when making films), and it really shows. They pride themselves on a number of things: always showing movies on film, reasonably priced tickets and concessions, running a clean theater, showcasing a great repertoire of films (including Friday matinees, Saturday family matinees, and weekend midnight screenings, in addition to the usual double-features during weekday evenings), making preview trailers every month, having pre-shows with trailers and animated shorts, plus pre-show music that fits the feature -- and most importantly, that seeing movies is a special experience, with no cell phones or talking allowed. It's not a gigantic movieplex with stadium seating and infinite bathrooms, but the New Bev is the kind of movie theater that you'd see in the movies -- someplace special, and a place that you come to for magic.

Ryan P.

Yelp
The staff, curation, concessions- just about everything gets an A+, apart from the seats. Every time I've been to the New Beverly, I've never had more than a sliver view of the screen past the heads of those in front of me. At last month's Jackie Chan double feature, my friends and I left before the first movie ended since none of us could see the screen. I really want to love this theater, but I won't be back unless the screen is raised or seats made stadium.
google avatar

Erica Y.

Yelp
If you love film, this is the place to be. The atmosphere, the people, the movies, and overall vibe is absolutely perfect.

A B.

Yelp
This place is SOOO cute. Make sure you arrive early or seats will be hard to find. I had such a wonderful time and will be coming back after the holidays!

T. D.

Yelp
This is a great place to see old films on the big screen that you can't see anywhere else. Please patronize this place to keep it alive.
google avatar

Esmeralda H.

Yelp
First time at the New Beverly and I fell in love with the place. It's adorable. It's intimate. Usually, I wouldn't get the front seat, but in this theater, it's the best seat because you're far away from the screen, and the screen is up on this little stage, so everything's perfect the only problem is that there's no way of communicating with the employees or the manager, so if you're confused about stuff, there's no line of communication even if you do not receive an email with the booking reference number after ordering tickets through their website, you can still watch the movie you purchased tickets for.
google avatar

Cameron B.

Yelp
The way a theater should be! All film, variety of genres, and no phones! Wish we had a theater like this in the IE.
google avatar

Lejandro T.

Yelp
Great screen, great sound, great atmosphere. The food is well priced and great too. The bathrooms are unfortunately small and the line getting to concessions is cramped. Other than that I look forward to coming here more often. Worth checking out if you love movies

Gabie V.

Yelp
My first time at New Beverly Cinema and loved it!!! It's a small theatre but very organized, very clean & well preserved, well kept. Double feature! The staff was friendly, glad to see you kinda vibe, and handled the snack bar with great efficiency. Before the show we were presented with a lil background on the movie & it was explained that their movies are on film, not digitalized. It is ART he said & I agree ! They explained what was expected of us: RESPECT, absolutely no phones. Silence them & put them away for the show & of course no talking. I saw The Outsiders & it was very good quality. It was a great experience! A great "vintage" experience! Will definitely go back again!

Yelp
Wanna see a classic film in 35mm? Getting super nostalgic about watching your favorite movie that you were too young to see in the theathers? Hate people who are always on their phone texting in a dark theather which the glow of their light is ruining your movie and you wish they would get kicked out??? Well friends you're in luck cause the New Bev is definitely one of the coolest places and best experiences to have for all your film fanatics, movie buffs, and wannabe cinephiles! Saw Point Break + Hardboiled recently and I gotta say there is nothing quite like watching a movie with a bunch of people who genuinely want to be there and it totally heightens the experience Bathroom: Super tiny. One urinal and one stall. Seats: They are refurnished but definitely on the small side. Concessions: Super cheap. Get the Dad's Rootbeer + White castle sliders. My favorite part of this theather is there strict No cellphone policy. When my friend told me that they were super strict about cell phone use and that they will kick you out and ban your ass if you don't follow your rules I was pleasantly surprised and skeptical. However, upon a recent showing someone told the guy behind me to shut off his apple watch cause the glow was super distracting.... DUDE. I LOVE THIS. Coming from shit-hole AMC movies where I have to literally tell someone to put away their phone every single time I watch a movie this is a breath of fresh air.... Excited to see what upcoming movies are coming out at the New Bev! Toodles, JY

Yelp
Average movie theater playing classic movies from the 90s and before. Owned by Tarantino, so they play a ton of his films. Parking is a nightmare. No parking lot of any kind. It's all meter parking, so during your movie, you have to leave and feed the meter. The residential neighborhoods are mostly permit parking only. The theater should reserve a block of parking out front or get a lot nearby. The men's bathroom is the size of a small broom closet, and it's extremely awkward when several people are waiting to use it. The concessions stand has no space to operate, so the slow moving line to get food extends into the theater and wraps down the aisle, so you stand in line to get popcorn while your movie has already begun. I gave up and just filled up my cup from the water fountain. (Bonus points for providing free filter water). The sound is really bad here. No bass. Really sharp highs to the point where my ears damn near hurt it was so poorly tuned. If they could put better sound in here, it would help the theater tremendously. I did like that they play old trailers and cartoons before the movie. It was fun one time, but I probably won't be back. Not when there are so many high-quality movie theaters all over town.

Yelp
I went to see a double feature 'Leatherface: Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3' & 'Stepfather 2: Make room for Daddy' a tribute to the recent passing of Director Jeff Burr, and I was very entertained and amazed at the style of these two films, Jeff Burr really entertains. My favorite was Stepfather 2, Terry O' Quinn is fantastic, the script by John Auerbach is brutal, cogent and hilarious at moments. The New Beverly Cinema is a diamond in Los Angeles. I am now a fan of New Beverly Cinema.

Yelp
Best theatre in Los Angeles. Always on film as they always say. Great 35mm prints. Cheap tickets, cheap concessions as well.

Yelp
My first movie is this classic movie house was Pepe le Moko in 2002. And I loved that they had a book to take recommendations for future movies. I have been begging for a double feature of "The Errand Boy" and "They Went That a Way and That a Way" or at least "War of the Gargantuas" and "S-s-s-s". By 2010, I found it a perfect place for first dates in LA to catch the classics you've missed on the big screen, unknown recommended classics, and some cool special events. I saw "Double Indemnity" with a professional clown (1/22/10), the surreal "Hausu" with a TLC personality (3/15/10), and I am glad to have somehow saved "Gone With the Wind" to watch on a big screen (with a puppeteer 4/27/10) instead of watching five hours of it on TBS with ads. I saw my favorite foreign film "Old Boy" (with Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance) with a girl who somehow looks like a sexy Christopher Plummer (6/17/10), the weird "Gone with the Pope" with some weirder Italian (7/13/10), "Bukowski: Born into This" and Doors doc "People are Strange" with a girl who proved that to be true (9/8/10). I also watched a collection of romantic movie trailers for Valentine's Day and a collection of horror movie trailers for Halloween--- do they still do that? Quentin, bring that back. I'll show you my feet.

Yelp
Staff here is incredibly nice. My friend was having trouble finding his vaccine card, the staff was nice and didn't rush of seemed annoyed about it. Appreciated that.

Yelp
One of the best movie theaters in all of Los Angeles and California. The programming here is always phenomenal and consistently provides an extremely entertaining, eclectic assortment of great film options. They will play the most mainstream to the most obscure, often times as double features which is amazing! If you love movie theaters, you have to check out the New Beverly Cinema. If you're able to, buy tickets in advance otherwise be prepared for standby and long lines before screenings. However, it's always well worth it! I've been coming to the New Beverly for the last 7 years consistently and can't recommend it enough. There are plenty of food places within walking distance, but be conscious of parking. It can get tricky at times and pay attention to the signs! If you're unable to do rideshare or have a problem walking, definitely pay attention to the street parking signs. Also NO cellphones. Make sure you turn those things off if you bring them in otherwise you will get kicked out. Should be a no brainer, but just in case TURN OFF YOUR PHONE! Otherwise kick back and enjoy a great movie experience in a phenomenal revival movie theatre.

Yelp
This beautiful little theater is owned by cinema legend Quentin Tarantino. I fell in love the second I stepped inside. Every film is shown on 35mm print (I believe they play 16mm every once in awhile). Many of the prints come from Tarantino's personal collection. Others are borrowed from studios. Before the films, someone comes up and talks about the history of the movie and even the history of the prints, including who they got them from, what year the print was made, and other fun facts. It truly does feel like you are apart of movie history when you are inside the New Beverly. Concession prices are a lot lower than other theaters and the popcorn is really quite tasty. There are also men's and women's bathrooms and complementary water cups. The staff are all very friendly and knowledgeable and help make a great experience. There is also great food really close by. I love this theater!

Yelp
This is always a fantastic experience. You have a roomful of hardcore movie lovers who don't put up with talking or cell phone use. Pure nirvana if you're a cinema lover. Plus they have Goobers. Even though it's a trek, I try to lose it one or two times a month.

Yelp
A quirky, retro theater owned by none other than Quentin Tarantino himself. Its a theater for hard-core cinema lovers, and the movies they show are retro as well. I saw 2007's Death Proof, and in a night to celebrate all things Kurt Russell, the previews were all his movies. Love the atmosphere and couldn't recommend it more !

Yelp
This theater is misleading their customers. Bookmarks were advertised with a different price than what they tried charging me for. I asked for two bookmarks, and I gave them a penny (one cent). The girl at the counter said they were each 50 cents. But the sign clearly says they're only 0.50 cents. It should be written as "50¢ a piece" OR "$0.50 a piece". Saying something is .50¢ is saying 2 for 1 penny. Just get rid of the decimal. Whoever wrote that sign is clearly uneducated. The fact that the girl at the counter didn't understand basic elementary school math is quite frankly ridiculous. How illiterate can you possibly be?

Yelp
Came to see There Will Be Blood. It was fantastic of course, besides some folks mistakenly thinking we were watching a comedy.. I would gladly come again to see an Argento or something more period correct to match the wonderfully old school atmosphere.. But please, for the love of feet shots and surf rock.. Upgrade the MFin seats! Thank you!
