Where to Eat, Drink, and Party in Montreal During the Grand Prix | Eater Montreal

"I’d expect a packed, high-energy weekend at New City Gas in Griffintown, which has DJs lined up including Loud Luxury on Friday night and Steve Aoki on Saturday night." - Holly Tousignant

Some Montreal Nightclubs Are Closing Due to Coronovirus — But Not All | Eater Montreal

"Located in Griffintown with a capacity of over 1,000, the club postponed a Saturday event and announced it would temporarily suspend operations, saying, “The health and wellness of our community, clients, staff, guests, artists, and partners are our top priority and we feel it is prudent and responsible to temporarily suspend our operations at this time.” As an outlier because of its size, management noted it didn’t make sense to open a huge space and only admit 250 people, which would leave a quarter-full dance floor." - Tim Forster

Plateau Kebab Favourite Omnivore Is Expanding | Eater Montreal

"In Griffintown I've seen tensions flare around New City Gas, the big Ottawa Street club: a group named Action NCG is petitioning Quebec’s Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux to penalize the venue, citing lots of noise and too many drunk people around; given the neighbourhood’s recent condo boom and the club’s reopening in 2012, many of the complainers likely moved in after the venue resumed operations, and New City Gas can fit several thousand possibly drunk people." - Tim Forster

We visited New Gas City during a conference social event, and it was absolutely amazing! The atmosphere was fantastic with plenty of dancing , tightrope walker and an incredible DJ who kept everyone on their feet. One of the highlights of the night was the performance by the three aerial silk dancers, truly mesmerizing to watch. The food and drinks were excellent, adding even more to the experience. Everything was so well organized and created a fun. A fantastic venue for events.

I always use the paid parking garage when I come here and service is never an issue. It's a very handy option to have when you are driving. I also always get the VIP tickets to avoid long lines and have access to a less crowded area. We have a VIP bathroom as well but it sometimes has a long lineup that is not worth waiting for. The employees here have always been nice and friendly. The shows that NCG puts on are always fantastic. The last time I was there, on Halloween, someone near us had thrown up on the floor and the staff just threw what looked like sand on the area and it made the floor extremely slippery. Everyone walking by the area was inches away from faceplanting on the floor. Then staff dumped a bunch of napkins on top afterwards. It seemed like such an archaic way to deal with the situation. Everyone endup with napkins, sand, and puke sticking to the bottom of theirs shoes. It was just so odd. That's the only reason for the 4 instead of 5 stars. But other than that, we always have a great time coming here.

⭐ New City Gas (NCG) Review – The Good, The Bad & The Overpriced I’ve had two very different experiences at New City Gas — one absolutely electric ⚡ and one that left me shaking my head. Let’s break it down: 🎉 The Magic Moments During a conference social event, NCG was nothing short of spectacular. The vibe was off the charts: • 💃 Non-stop dancing, a tightrope walker, and a DJ who kept the floor alive. • 🤸‍♀️ The aerial silk trio? Pure art in motion — hypnotizing to watch. • 🍸 Food & drinks were spot on, with smooth service and fair prices. • 🎶 Crankdat’s set on the first-ever 360° stage at NCG was a game-changer. Amazing visuals, perfect stage layout, and despite being a sold-out show, it didn’t feel suffocating. It was so good that I left thinking: “This is THE spot for epic events in Montreal.” ✅ ⸻ 😬 The Major Letdown Fast-forward to the G-Eazy show, and wow — what a contrast: • 🏚️ Layout? Felt like a hallway party. Nothing immersive, no wow-factor, and zero small touches to elevate the vibe (seriously, not even free popcorn). • 🥂 The so-called “VIP”? Just an elevated bar with $15K table quotes 🤯. Nothing luxurious, just overpriced and bland. • 🚨 Security? Hyper-focused on guarding VIP while missing a passed-out guest and even ignoring a harassment incident. It was the crowd that stepped in to help, not staff. • 💡 Lighting disaster: blinding spotlights on the audience most of the night. Unflattering, harsh, and a total vibe-killer. It felt like a mid-tier club wearing a high-end price tag — and failing to deliver on every promise. ⸻ 🎭 Final Verdict • When NCG is on its A-game: it’s unforgettable, artistic, and worth every dollar. • When it’s off? It’s a cash-grab dressed as luxury — and honestly, Rebel in Toronto makes it look amateurish. 👉 Would I go back? Yes — but only for select events where I know the production team is top-notch. Otherwise, hard pass. ⸻ 🔥 Overall Score: 7/10 (but split between a glowing ✨ 9/10 night and a disappointing 😒 4/10 show).

Google
One of my favourite venues for music events! The washroom stalls are nothing special, but there's a common fountain for everyone to wash their hands. It's really cool. It has 2 levels. The bottom level is like a lounge; it is not intimate. The top level is like a warehouse; high ceilings and more of space to dance. Only downside about this space is that it gets really crowded at sold out shows; this could also be because that oversell some shows. They need better crowd control.

Reviewer 1.

Google
The venue was severely overbooked, which led to a disappointing experience. We felt packed in like sardines, and the logistics failed at every turn. Despite pre-paying for coat check, we waited an hour to enter and another thirty minutes to retrieve our coats at the end of the night. I am very disappointed that this is the main venue in mtl for edm artist.

Google
Went to the Soul event on thursday december 18th. Beautiful ambiance and decoration but the DJs were snoozing. A dj is supposed to mix a track into a beat not play the same beat over and over again for two hours. A dj is supposed to react live to an audience otherwise it’s a playlist. There was no afrohouse no house nothing it was just the same beat playing over and over again you don’t need 3 djs for that. I’m sorry but the lineup were not djs.

Chris B

Google
Good club, overcrowded bars and they have sectional for vip only. I’d recommend a smaller venue you’ll get more bang for your buck. Unless you’re going to see a well known artist.

Yelp
Really cool venue that plays a lot of top EDM producers. Went on a saturday night for Matoma. Remember to pay attention to the set list because you gave dj might just come on at 1:30am and you might want to just arrive later. The place closes at 3am, which means you have to stay up real late for the best people. I really enjoyed the stage setup too, the lights are bright and psychedelic, and the djs stand in front of a huge flashy screen. Also the venue is a bit small for the kind of people they host. Overall, the vibe is industrial chic and they have a really cool bathroom setup. There's stall all around with a huge ceiling mounted sink in the middle with a ton of taps. They also have bottle service on the second floor and the people working there really make sure you have a good time. (can't comment on prices because i wasn't the one paying) The security is really tight, the main reason why there's a long lineup is because they go through your bag really throughly and pat you down. When people were leaving, there was a fight that broke out, but I think it was handled well by security.

Yelp
We were quoted $750 by the promoter -- everything was agreed on upfront. But when it came time to pay, the total somehow jumped to $1,600. No explanation, no warning. The promoter clearly realized he messed up but still expected us to pay the full amount. It felt like a bait-and-switch. To avoid confrontation, we paid -- but we left feeling completely scammed. This kind of shady business practice is unacceptable. Dishonest, unprofessional, and absolutely not worth your time or money. Avoid this place and anyone affiliated with it.

Yelp
The atmosphere and the venue was very nice. I had a great time at the bar except for this one server. She was SO beyond rude it was unbelievable and shocking. Whoever runs this venue, I strongly urge you to look into this women's employment. She was the old bartender with glasses and big fake lips. She caused problems with every person she served and truly seemed like she wanted to cause problems. So embarrassing that a woman of her age feels the need to act like a bitchy teenager. Other than her awful service, the venue was nice. I would not recommend this place however, because this lady was so bad.

Yelp
This was a really interesting venue. I went with a friend last month to see Armin Van Buuren in concert. Is that what you call it when a DJ performs? Anyways, I was really excited to go and experience the music. It was basically the dead of winter, and with temperatures in the minus degrees Farenheit, I was dreading standing in line. Luckily, they have it set up well so there was literally no standing outside in line. We arrive about 1+ after the doors opened, and it still wasn't even fully packed - yet. There is a huge coat check, so don't worry about this. It cost $4 Canadian - so not a bad deal in my opinion. But be prepared to bring some cash. The girls working the coat room were super nice too, so I was overall pleased with their work. The club itself is cool. I love the decor - dark and industrial, but with enough softness to make it inviting. The bathroom sink is totally cool - like a fountain! On the lower level, there is a bar and smaller stage area. Upstairs, the main room is really large with balconies off to each side for the VIP, reserved tables area. The bar is long and the choices are reasonable - and reasonably priced. The place became increasingly packed as we waited for Armin van Buuren. To be honest, it was unpleasantly packed. Even before he started, there was nearly no space to stand without other people literally being pressed up against us. So I was not happy with that. Add smoking to the mix and I wanted to vomit. I get it - it's a club, and people want to smoke, but people blatantly break the no-smoking rules in here and I don't know how you could even enforce something like that when it's so crowded. My friend and I made our way back to the bar one more time before the main act, and that was it. It was impossible to get back there - so if you want to drink your night away, then position yourself next to the bar early on. And while I enjoyed van Buuren thoroughly, I would have liked to have had another drink or two to enjoy it even more. Being sober in a crowd this thick is a hard thing to do... no room to dance, smoke all up in your face, super sticky floors, no drink to laugh it all off... Maybe I'm getting a little too old for this. I love the music, and I really liked the venue, but I think there needs to be a little more attention to maximum occupancy - and what is safe vs. the money you can bring in. I imagine this place would be more enjoyable for a regular weekend without one the hottest names in electronic music.

Yelp
Have had very mixed experiences here. Some times were great, others were pretty bad. Staff isn't exactly friendly.

Yelp
I have been clubbing in Montreal for the last 25 years, thank you new city gas for reminding me why I stopped going to clubs about five years ago. If their power tripping staff does not ruin your evening, the clientele there will. When you arrive, expect to get pushed and shoved in by the security staff, who also talk to people like they are cattle. We were a group of well-dressed professionals, and they still spoke to us like we are trash. Even though there was nobody behind us, the doorman was putting his hand on our backs and literally pushing us in. Like relax dude! Maybe they should stop hiring ex bodybuilders who never learned how to treat people like human beings. When you make your way in, there are more of their staff imposing made up rules on you. At one point, we were just leaning against a wall, "you cannot lean here". What the hell? Then there was a small ledge in the middle of nowhere, one of the girls sat on it and got reprimanded! Basically the 6 foot tall beast of a "security guard", walked up to the 5 foot tall girl and threatened her to move right away. What a bunch of clowns! People are there to have fun, stop harassing them with ridiculous do's and don'ts. The clientele was a reflection of the staff. Even though the place is packed, people were typically looking at where they're trying to go, and plowing through people like bulldozers. No class and no respect. The whole atmosphere makes it so you're constantly on your guard, and I don't know about you, but I can't have a good time in that type of atmosphere. At one point we looked around us, and literally nobody was smiling. That says a lot... Needless to say, it was a mistake to go there and no one of my group will be going back.

Yelp
came here on nye to see borgeous. We ordered the vip package so didnt have to wait on the regular line. I would highly suggest this because it is freezing in montreal in the winter. We entered the venue and prompty checked our coats. This venue is pretty big and gets very crowded. If you dont like getting bumped into dont come here. They have some table service on the 2nd level which would be good but didnt make sense since there were only 2 of us. We bought the stand up table service so we didnt have to keep going to the bar. The price was very reasonable however it gets very crowded so you have to protect your space. There are also a lot of young people that come and some are extremely immature. There were about 4 fights that broke out and the security were nowhere to be found. They need to tighten the security because it got messy in there. Overall, good experience but they just need to tighten security if they are going to pack that many young people in.

Yelp
Wow. What an experience partying here was. When I first arrived I had no idea what to expect as I was told by some friends we were going to this club. To my amazement this club night ended up turning into a music festival type venue with tons of open space and a huge crowd that was spread through the area. It had an incredible sound system and a lineup full of top tier DJ talent from across the world. This was by far my favorite place for night life in Montreal. I arrived with some friends around 11pm and there was a decent crowd in the area. As time got closer to 12-1230 the place was very crowded which made for an excellent environment of huge co2 guns and great visuals. The drinks here are typical nightclub prices except the cocktails are a lot smaller sized portion with specific shot pours for every drink. They had this random blue energy drink that I saw people drinking. I decided to give it a try and I eventually kept on drinking it through the night which I later figured out was pretty much a 4 loko when they had the caffeine in them. From this point on I couldn't stop dancing to the music as many of my favorite tracks came on and I was wide awake with full energy at 230am lol. This is a great place for someone who likes Edm and house music as that is pretty much all the plays while I was there which was awesome. If you are looking for a place you can rage in montreal and see top dj talent then this is the place for you. Montreal has some great places but, New City Gas club wise is in a different tier than the rest. I can't wait to come back and visit.

Yelp
I've been to new city gas 3 times now twice was for my office Halloween party band once was to see a ruby rose DJ. The venue is a decent size and can hold quite a few people. The venue itself is quite simple in decor sporting a bare concrete look. The bathrooms are located on the first floor and are quite big every time I've been here they have been well kept. New city gas has a reputation for hosting big names in the EDM scene. My downfall with the venue is the price they charge for mixed drinks which is definitely on the high side.

Yelp
This place is unbelievable and probably the most fun you can find anywhere. Are you looking for a massive crowd ? Look no further. I love the live DJ and huge light show. The crowd gets pumped up and the energy is explosive. When I attended their was 3000 people their that night. I was in a VIP so I didn't really interact with the crowd as I was isolated up top in a booth. They had amazing servers who always poured your drinks and kept us happy throughout the night. They play amazing music to dance too and it was a great evening. It's a hard place to get into as I understand without a ticket or reservation but overall it was an amazing experience. Check it out ;)

Yelp
Had an awesome time here for my friend's bachlorette party. Booking a table was super easy over email. I definitely recommend splurging for the mezzanine tables if you can. Away from the crowd downstairs and fantastic view of the DJ stage. VIP entrance and checking in was quite a breeze. Our waitresses were super nice. And gosh clubbing in Canada is (relatively) really cheap... We had already 20 people and spend just over $2K USD. That's unthinkable in places like NYC/Vegas etc. We just partied with our own group which was great. If you're into mingling, just a warning that the crowd here is definitely pretty young. The only negative was that at 3AM, they cut out the music quite abruptly. We got our coats and wanted to wait for everyone in the group. But the security is really aggressive about pushing people out, sometimes literally. We were not looking to just hang around, only waiting for friends, so that left a little sour after taste.

Yelp
I came to a conference on entrepreneurship, but I didn't expect it to be in a run down church. When I went in, I was welcome with a club-like atmosphere. The place is modern with fluorescent lights in every room. The bathroom's sink is unlike anything I have seen before; ladies and gents share a fountain together to wash their hands, then there are dryers and papers to dry your hands next to the women's and men's washroom. Upstairs, there is a big concert room with chairs and on top of the floor, I see tables and chairs with a nice view of the front scene. If you want to get outside without using the main entrance/exit, there is an exit that leads straight to a terrasse. Overall, this club gets an A- from me. Pretty nice place to check it out. The location is not bad either, it is very close to griffintown.

Yelp
You guys get a 1 star. I wanted to check this out for îleSoniq weekend we ended up getting here and we're told bags are not allowed inside ( camelback) so we were like wtf and left. We were approached by one or the guys from VIP parking at the street and said I saw they wouldn't let you in with bag. You can give me $10 and I can give you a valet ticket and keep your bag in my trunk. Yeah seems like everyone is in cahoots with everyone. We were like yeah no thanks and left. Shady place and didn't deserve our business. Also once we hid our bags outside ( we went back to find out it's $50 a ticket so 100$ for two tickets. That's insane!!!!! We left and went to a few better places on crescent st and was glad we did

Yelp
On August 6th, 2016, I attended an after party at New City Gas in Montreal. A bouncer slammed a door into my shoulder because I opened it to leave the dance floor to have a cigarette. He grabbed my arm and pushed me towards the stairs. I told him "don't touch me, you can't touch me!" at which point he threatened to throw me out, and I continued walking down the stairs to get to the smoking section. After discussing with a friend, we both felt incredibly uncomfortable with the idea of remaining at the club, and we made the decision to leave. I went back to the VIP section to collect my ID and credit card, at which point I met up with my brother and told him what happened with the bouncer. As we were headed downstairs, I pointed to the bouncer that had slammed the door into my shoulder. I continued down the stairs, told the bouncer at the bottom that I was leaving for the night and when I began to walk down the exit hall, the bouncer at the top of the stairs had come after me and grabbed my arm to turn me around. He began to scream in my face, at which point my brother came to stand in the middle between us to get the bouncer to let me go (leave the club, as we were intending). At this point, the bouncer punched me in the jaw and I dropped to the floor. After being dragged out of the club by a few other bouncers, we called the police who arrived on site in four squad cars. I advised them I wanted the bouncer charged with assault. I was not drunk, nor was I violent and I was punched without merit. At this point, the Montreal police advised me four or five times that if I pressed charges, I would have to return to Montreal numerous times as a witness and testify. I told them repeatedly that I was fine with this, and wanted the bouncer charged. When this method failed to deter me from pressing charges, the Montreal police instead turned to my brother, threatening to arrest him for assault for coming between the bouncer and myself. The behavior of both New City Gas in response to the assault, as well as the Montreal police, was incredibly demeaning and downright appalling.

Yelp
They always bring only the finest dj from around Europe enjoyed my time there almost every time iv been there drinks could be a bit expensive but what place isn't? It would be also a major improvement on their website if they just put the bottle services price instead of emailing and waiting for a response !! ???

Yelp
Great spot to enjoy a night out partying and checking out Montreal dance scene. Huge club and several dance floors to show off the city's finest. Definitely splurge a lil and get a table & bottle service since it gets super packed and u can relax getting drinks.

Yelp
A great venue for EDM concerts! It's large and has a cute outdoor patio area as well. The venue can be quite packed for popular DJs on the ground floor, but the VIP area is always more relaxed. The bathrooms are luxurious and there is great service. Coat check can get quite hectic at the end of the night, so I'd recommend leaving a bit earlier to avoid the masses.

Yelp
Ranked Montreal's #1 venue for the second year running, New City Gas hosts international talent on a weekly basis and is a glowing presence in Montreal, for a very cheap price of 30$ a ticket, you can have an amazing experience, if you love electronic music, you can't miss this place.

Yelp
I was sexually assaulted in the GA area during a concert. I was groped from the back and even tho I grabbed the hand of the person who did it, they pulled away. When I told security what happened they brushed it off and then showed me away because apparently they had better things to do with their time the give a damn about a young woman who paid money to have a good time getting assaulted on their property. I told security twice and nothing was done. The guard seemed so exasperated with me. I'm still so angry about it. It filled me with so much hate and disgust. Currently trying to get to the bottom of this with management.

Yelp
Went to the Andrew Rayel show and it was absolutely amazing. The sound, lights and effects were awesome. As for the venue....I have mixed feelings about it. I went with a group of 12 people and we decided to go with VIP tickets after reading some over reviews. Although it was nice to escape to packed, general admission floor space as the night progressed, we were thoroughly disappointed that VIP was simply a standing only area with 2 bars. There was nowhere to sit. At all. There are couches available, but only for those that choose table service, which starts at $500(includes 6 VIP tickets). I haven't decided if the extra $30 for a VIP was worth it. Speaking of bars, after receiving change from a drink I purchased, I briefly turned around to hand it to my friend and the female bartender practically jumped over the bar and dug her fake, pointy, finger nails into my shoulder, letting me know drinks didn't include tip. I also commented to my friend that my $5 bill was all ripped up and was taped back together. The bartender interjected and said, "you've never seen a $5 bill before". Her behavior was so rude that myself and the 11 other people I was with, did return for service from her. The bathrooms were clean and well stocked and supervised by security and staff members. That was a nice bonus. I should mention that the VIP section also had its own bathroom area. Our group was worried about our attire due to the dress code, but we found that most people were wearing the items listed as a no-go in the dress code. I'm giving this place a 3 for the fact that the VIP experience is misleading and super rude bar tender.

A K.

Yelp
Terrible place. Hard to get in and hard to get out. Always overcrowded and packed to the brim with no air flow. Go at your own risk.

Yelp
THE place in Montreal for a Thursday night 5 a 7. Bartenders are busy but make great drinks. Specialty drinks are available like raspberry mojitos which were amazing. If you're a gang of friends (5+) order a booth and get a few bottles. You'll get to sit and chill and make your drinks as you like em. The music here is amazing. Always current and has everybody singing along. I always love 5 a 7's here whether it be a open public event or a private corporate party. You can't beat it

Yelp
New City Gas is now one of my favourite dance and music venues. I went to Montreal with a couple of girlfriends for the weekend. Before our trip, we researched a few places and came across New City Gas. The website and promo video looked good and we were excited to check it out, no great expectations. We were blown away! LOVED the venue, the DJ stage was large and it was nice that you could see everything no matter where you were. We joined some friends who had a table reserved so we were escorted through the crowd to our table. Sound system was incredible, I love when you can FEEL the music! Will definitely plan several trips in the future and make sure to visit when top DJ's are playing.

Yelp
Venue is Amazing, the place looks awesome. They always have the most Popular artists performing, smoking Room with heaters is available. These were the pros. Cons, lines are too long (big concerts) and bouncers make sure to take their sweet ass time while you're waiting at -25. The place gets way too crowded, an hour into the show, you're covered in sweat (sometimes not your own) you're always pushed by someone, and if you make the mistake to go take a breath outside, you're stuck at the end of the crowd. Drinks are expensive and a rip off. You get a baby sized drink with a baby amount of alcohol. Place gets boring after a while. But if you love Raves, you won't mind the crowds and sweat and all.

Yelp
I had a great time watching Porter Robinson. He was unbelievably good and I will always remember my time here because of him. Got here 11pm and it was empty. Getting inside the club was very easy. Good thing we bought vip tickets in advance. So much cheaper than LA. I forget who was before him but omg she sucked! I couldn't wait for him. The drinks or lack of knocked off a star for me. Although not expensive for a glass, the little amount of liquor in it makes you buy more which I can understand it being expensive overall. Your best bet was ordering shots at 6USD. I advised you predrink if you fancy being inebriated. Probably wouldn't need to if this venue continues bringing good artists such as Porter Robinson. The crowd was younger but I didn't get any pretentious vibes. I would definitely come back to check out another dj.

Yelp
Of all people, I did not think I would be one to like this place. Big open entrance, annoyingly you climb up, to climb back down, to climb back up. Bathrooms open on both ends of a water fountain, rather mesmerizing depending how far into your night you are. Security were nice, back was a little understocked and as per the floor they could have used more garbages. Back terrace was beautiful, they should get a restaurant or something going out there in the meantime.

Yelp
Expected to go to a overcrowded sweaty club for New Year's Eve but encountered a pleasant surprise. Every single employee that I interacted with was so nice and the bouncers were hilarious. The bartenders were very good at multitasking and honored those who had been there first. The music was great, the bathroom is super big and their decor has a great urban feel. The whole building was great and everything was very well planned. No line wait and everything was quick and simple. Would definitely go again!

Yelp
This was the worst experience. I'm fine with a club being packed but this venue over sold tickets. You could barely stand let alone dance. The show was sold out and they were still letting people in with out tickets. Staff we encountered was terribly rude. 7' Tall dude selling water was throwing trash in peoples faces. Many people were leaving because of how packed it was. Bouncers outside were kicking people huddled under a tree in the rain waiting for the rest of there party off the sidewalk. I have never left a show so frustrated and upset with the venue.

Yelp
We pre purchased our VIP tickets for Cash Cash. Got in right away. The place is really big and organized. Love the decor. The bathroom is cool. Drinks are average price. Atmosphere is amazing. Loved the lighting, sound system and confetti. Felt like a rave. Everyone's dress code varied. VIP area there were more people dressed more upscale, but in the GA section the people were very relaxed; T-shirts, jeans and sneakers. I would definitely recommend and return to this EDM nightclub.

Yelp
I attended this venue for new years. Although it was packed the bar staff were on the ball and did everything they could to keep everyone happy. The security staff were thorough and made sure everyone was having a good time. The dj was great. Would definitely consider going back to Montreal to this venue if anything catches my eye

Yelp
Not the best EDM show I've ever been too but not bad. Sound system is good for the expansive area but could use more bass. VIP Table staff left something to be desired.

Yelp
Ive been going to this place for years and always have a good time. Big name DJs and good sound and lighting. I've read the negative reviews this place got and honestly those people had ridiculous expectations. - don't expect to get into any normal establishment in shorts or flip flops. It's not surprising you're not allowed that here. - don't complain that they oversell tickets. All venues do this. Yes it gets packed there on certain nights but at least you can always buy a VIP ticket and be comfortable. - yes drinks cost money. It's not cheap to go out anywhere else either. Parking is horrible in this area so make sure to uber or taxi.

Yelp
Beautiful building, world class headliners, competitive prices ( for tickets) but drinks are over the top expensive. Huge place with capacity for thousands. Typically of a younger demographic, but in my opinion it is by far the best venue in Montreal! In summer their 5@7 is pretty cool but you have to pay to get in (something like 10 bucks) pay for any little snack, pay full price for drinks (no 5@7 special :s) and is typically 90% males aged 35+. Add some deals WTH! I go mostly since it is 30 second walk from me but otherwise I would skip 5@7.

Yelp
Forget this place. Bartenders demanded a 15% tip for water downed drinks and there was a $25 cover.

Yelp
I had a terrible experience here! The bouncers were extremely rude and disrespectful in every possible way. They physically & verbally harassed a friend of mine for being "too ugly" to be let in & then escorted her out by carrying her and passing her along to other body guards then dropped on the street! SO UNPROFESSIONAL. Perhaps the shows are great and the building is an artsy lit up warehouse, but this establishment has no respect for their customers and is in a sketchy area of time. Honestly don't waste your money here!

Yelp
I came here for an EDM Concert (Cash Cash). This place is HUGE! The outside is just majestic, the structure of this place amazes me. There's tons of lighting all over the place, which I love. There was no line at any point (we had pre-purchased tickets but the folks who didn't did not wait either). There are tons of bouncers and security all over the place. The drinks are ok and you won't really wait at the bar either. The bottles are inexpensive in my opinion so it's worth getting a VIP package BUT the VIP booths are far from the stage so keep that in mind. The coat check is organized and the bathrooms are huge. Overall, they're running a smooth operation here b/c you won't wait for anything. I would most definitely come here again.

Yelp
No complaints. Security and staff were amazing. Amazing, enormous venue for EDM lovers. VIP area is definitely worth the price especially when we'll-respected artists are in. My friends and I stayed in VIP for the most part so I can't comment too much on the general floor besides the fact that it was crowded. I'm convinced that this is the best club Montreal has to offer. I'd definitely recommend it and I plan on going back very soon.

Yelp
It's like Montreal's Guv. Only smaller. Less epic. Less room. Less bass. Less legendary. But we still have a great night. Security is definitely super easy going compared to the ones in Toronto which allowed us to get into VIP without the VIP. We were literally pulled into the VIP by the security (thanks man). Tickets are decently priced. Drinks cost more than other venues.

Yelp
Decent place, horrible staff: by the end of the night I was feeling sick because of how hot and sweaty it was, I had drank an little too much, tipped the bartenders every time I bought a drink but around 2 o clock I only had 5$ left on me, the bartenders weren't busy at all I asked for a bottle of water (it was 5$ exactly which is I think stupidly over price!!!) I was not feeling good at all and felt very dehydrated and the bartender wouldn't give me the bottle if I didn't tip him, i was pissed, went to see another bartender wich said the exact same thing, I asked really nicely, they gave me lots of attitude even after I told them I was not feeling good at all. What Is wrong with this place!? Water is a basic human necessity, if you want your crowd to be drinking alcohol you need to provide water, when I left the bar I almost passed out but my friend found me some water, this is so dangerous!! I understand this is a big venue and it doesn't have the best crowd, all kids that don't know how to live and properly tip, the bartenders work super hard and probably barely make any tip but to refuse to sell me water!? To me that is unacceptable, I'm not going there ever again, it sucks but the only good thing about this place is the look and the artists they bring in. Things like this happen only when the owners are greedy and don't treat their employee right/ don't train them right. If you want your business to be good you gotta take everything into account especially treat your clients right. Oh and the security were looking for trouble chasing people outside the venue, Security should make sure everyone is safe, not create trouble outside the venue, this is ridiculous. Thats all I had to say.

Yelp
Relaxed EDM venue with a 25$ cover on regular Saturday nights. Beautiful building with nice lighting and design. Only one room was open and it was open air. Thankfully it was cool on this night. I wish the dance floor had been bigger. Drink prices range 7-10$. Casual dress, nice vibe, and not overly pretentious.

Yelp
Worst venue I have ever experienced... The DJs we're great but the staff and lack of respect for customers was just awful and really took away from the overall show experience. Never going back again...

Yelp
Coming from the touring artist side, this venue is very top notch and professional. Every production personnel is very helpful and great at what they do. The hospitality to me and my clients were hands down immaculate. And the crowd here... Montreal you guys are wonderful and know how to have a good time. Great energy and positive vibes all around. Hoping to come back again soon.

Yelp
Went on Tuesday for The Zhu show it was really nice, good vibe, lot of people. We had a lot of fun, love this place during summer also and the building is great. But drinks are a little expensive 16$ for a shooter of vodka and a small gin tonic ouch!!! Security is also really intense :)

Yelp
If you like EDM, you've found your spot. Crowded, but fun. I quite liked the place. We got a spot in VIP, so the drinks were flowing. I do hear that it is hard / expensive to get a drink at the bar, so have a strong pregame?

Yelp
Great night out when they have a great international dj, but I wouldn't go otherwise. Nice venue. Drinks are ridiculously expensive.

Yelp
This is one of my favourite places i have ever visited. The sound system is mind blowing. My friend had bottle service so i was in the VIP section. It was a little hot but the outdoor section was a good place to cool down. the staff was polite. Cant wait to go back!!

Yelp
I came to Montreal from Vermont to see Travis Scott perform. I paid 60 CAD for a ticket (not including fees) and the show was not worth what I paid. The show started at 10 pm and Travis Scott did not come on until 2 am, where he proceeded to play four songs and then walked off stage. He announced that he did not know he was supposed to be performing a set, he said he thought he was there to promote and be a hype man. I am incredibly disappointed and frustrated with the outcome of the show, and the misleading information published by New City Gas. Me and all my friends were there to see Travis Scott and instead watched a dj play for four hours. Furthermore, multiple fights broke out next to me and almost nothing was done to stop them, putting others at risk. The crowd was shoving the entire night, making the environment incredibly rough and unenjoyable. The bouncers were incredibly rude and did not help at all. At the end the staff was shoving me out the door while I was waiting for my coat check. This concert was easily the worst I have ever experienced.
